Becky is fabulous
In this 4 yrs and a half that I have been moved to Bay area, I've tried many hair salons. I'm a critics researcher client and never can stay with a stylist who doesn't have high expectations. Jade is the one I've found in Edo. My friend suggested Edo to me and I checked all the stylists Instagram then choose Jade. Her standards are high and she enjoys her career. The neighborhood is so nice and easy access with Muni. I pay the price of the quality of their work and I'm really happy with my curley hair. You can choose your suitable stylist with checking their Instagram that you'll be able to find it on their website.

I first got my hair balayaged (black to ash blonde) and cut at Edo Salon and I really loved it! They did an amazing job making sure my hair stayed healthy and shiny. I came back to experiment with color and they gave me the prettiest dusty lilac hair.
Styists are creative and friendly, professional. Razor shags and color are on point. Beautiful salon with lots of natural light and good phone signal for pulling up those Pinterest photos!
Great experience booking with Edo. I specifically wanted Casey to cut my hair because of their Instagram. I had to have my first appointment rescheduled, but Edo kept up timely and personal communication via text. The salon in Oakland is very cozy and welcoming. Casey was professional, transparent, and personable; everything you want in a new stylist! I loved my cut and will definitely be booking with Casey at Edo again.
These people are really nice. On the expensive side, but nice.
At the prompt of a friend, I made an appointment. Was reminded via text twice of my appointment and confirmed. Fifteen minutes before my appointment the stylist called and canceled, said that she was going home sick. Since I had just parked I walked in to reschedule. The stylist was just starting a color job with another client. I see. When I asked the receptionist to reschedule she went in the back room with the sick stylist and when she returned they mysteriously didn't have any openings. I walked away with a strong feeling of go away and don't come back. I forgot how lower Haight was so not about customers.
I really like this salon, very cute, very professional, nice vibe, a little pricey. I first went pink at this salon, and Alx was a dream -- she hand painted my hair like a master! I have nothing but good things to say about this place.
I only trust Edo (shout out to Lauren) and 1 other salon with curly hair, front bang shagesque cuts. It's been a blessing and a curse. Highly recommend this place if you have curly locks.
Henry provides a great cut and really knows what he's doing. He charges a reasonable amount for a great hair cut and does an awesome job with color.
Haven't been there recently but I worked on Haight Street quite a while ago and it was a top end salon then with great products and better staff. They seemed to be very proficent in standard styles while still being very helpful and creative with unusual or edgy ideas/styles. Sent couple people here and they were very happy, always saw them doing great work through the windows when I walked by and the staff were nice whenever they hapoened to be outside or I went in to buy my Aveda stuff.
✂️ Any stylist worth their salt can give you a good cut (add products + heat) & make you feel like a million bucks when you walk out of the salon! ???? But it takes a true artist to give you a cut thats going to look fabulous day after day after day... no product, fresh out of bed, unwashed... a cut that makes your best features pop and gives you the sense of being even MORE you! Lindsey at Edo Salon and Gallery unleashed the magic of my hair with a keen eye for details, scissors and a razor! I walked in with a “please fix this mess it’s unbearable” and she was able to tease out body and curl that is present days after the cut! Lindsey is the real deal, artist/stylist/hair-whisperer and she does it all in an organic chemical-free salon. I am pumped and deeply grateful. This is me -no filter, early morning, unbrushed, unwashed and blissed! I gave her little to work with other than the current problems I was experiencing and that I need a wash and wear style. I gave her the reins and she took them with aplomb: confident and focused. Thank you thank you thank you!
Jewel is an incredible stylist. I’ve been with her since before she landed at Edo. I no longer live in SF but I still make the schelpp into the city because she’s too good. I love her new professional home, Edo. It’s in a fun neighborhood with plenty of street parking. And the space itself is open, airy and inviting. In addition to Jewel, the stylists are down to earth and stylish and know what they’re doing.
Super! Jillian is the best. She is the curl whisperer.
Had a great experience here, MJ gave me a great full balayage (on blonde hair). Highly recommend and loved her!
Edo Salon is well worth the $. The staff are warm and interesting, giving expert advise and making a comfortable setting. They pay so much attention to the uniqueness of your hair and do incredible cuts. The whole experience is lovely in their art gallery salon and it feels so much more welcoming than many other salons.
This review of a horrible experience is overdue. I genuinely hate leaving bad reviews, but I can’t be silent about this. I had been going here for about a year or so and saw Audrey. At first I was super happy with everything, and when Audrey moved from the lower Haight to the Oakland location, I tried to follow her there. I’d never been to the Oakland location and live in the Outer Richmond, so when I made the appointment I was wary of bridge traffic but tried nonetheless to be a loyal client. On the day of my appointment there was, of course, traffic caused by an accident - I called to let them know that I was going to be late but was on my way - no one answered the phone so I left a voicemail and flagged it as “urgent” in my message. Then, I got a text message saying that it was Edo salon asking if I was still coming. I told them yes, I was driving, and that I had left a voicemail. I then got another text saying that I was too late and needed to reschedule. At this point I had just parked my car across the street so I walked in to talk in person. I explained that I had called ahead and left a voicemail, but I was there now, so, please? The receptionist there then explained that THERE WASN’T A PHONE AT THE OAKLAND LOCATION and that the haight st location hadn’t told them about my voicemail in time ... so I had to reschedule. ??!! I was flabbergasted so the receptionist said that she’d go talk to Audrey and see if she’d still take me. Since I’d been going to Audrey for a while and thought that I had built a pretty good relationship with her, I thought that everything would be ok, I had a really big interview that following Monday and really needed a haircut so I could make a good impression. It was not ok. The receptionist went to the back and was gone for 15 minutes then came out and said that at that point it was too late since Audrey had another appointment after me.... First of all: How are you going to NOT HAVE A PHONE at a place of business? I guess the receptionist texted me from her personal phone? Not sure how that worked ... Secondly: I’m honestly offended that Audrey didn’t come out and at least talk to me herself. I felt very shunned. Thirdly: I was really, really disappointed at how Edo/Audrey treated me as a client. I tried to be loyal, and when I needed them the most they just let me down, ignored me, then shooed me away. Super sad. I thought that I had finally found *my* hair salon, but was sadly mistaken. I ended up having to frantically call around and get an appointment elsewhere. Luckily, I found one, got a great cut, and even got the job, but with absolutely NO help or professional courtesy from Edo. And in retrospect, they give everyone the same haircut and overcharge for it.
I always go to this place to get my Edo Salon done. Their staffs are really friendly - they treat Edo Salon with extra care and give me advices on how to take care of it. I'll definitely recommend Ben & Peng.
Pricey
Always have the best experience when I go to this salon! I never have to doubt that I will get the best results with Edo Salon! Whether it be cut or color she always exceeds expectations and delivers the best looks!
There is not a single day that 5+ people don’t stop me to say how pretty my haircut is since Tiffany cut my hair. Thus place is a heaven!
When you go to Edo you know you'll leave looking amazing. Katy Rose is master stylist and colorist. I highly recommend her!
I had such a good experience with Jewel. She's so sweet. I came in to donate my hair to a cancer charity and she helped me with the whole thing! Also I'm not very sophisticated about hair, so I lean heavily on my stylist to suggest what shape they think is best for cutting my hair (which I know must make it harder on them, I'm sorry! ????) and Jewel ran with it and it's perfect! As soon as I got home my neighbor said "omg that haircut is perfect for you" ???? Also the salon is gorgeous and every is so stylish and nice. It was a fun place to be!
I've never had a haircut where people are stopping me in the street asking where I got my hair done. Dionne crushed it! I have really thick hair and I don't like to deal with styling it, and Dionne took that and ran with it. It's the most low maintenance but beautiful haircut I've had. I'm never going anywhere else! Thank you, Dionne!
I had a great experience at Edo! MJ was super nice to work with and really listened to what I was trying to go for. She gave great feedback of things that would/wouldn’t work for my hair type. Everyone I interacted with was very welcoming. The salon was very clean and such a beautiful space! It seems that they’re very up to code with all COVID precautions. Everyone had their mask on and I saw them cleaning as they went. At the end of my visit, I did buy one of the products MJ used to style my hair afterwards.
Edo Salon was my stylist and she was just fabulous! She got my highlights done so quickly, I was blown away. Wonder full blowout with volume and wave plus a Kerastase deep conditioning treatment the transformed my bleached out hair to butter. I highly recommend that you ask for her specifically on your next visit!
Noelle is the best!!! Very talanted highest level hair stylist in San Francisco!!! She knows exactly what to do to make you look fantastic ????????????
I love Edo! Tiffany Faircloth cuts my hairs and is seriously a styling wizard. I’ve never received as many compliments or felt as confident with a cut. Amazing customer service and great stylists.
Very nice salon, really like the haircut I got even if it took me a little while to figure out how to style myself. Now I have bangs for the first time that I don't need to blow dry or straighten. What a dream!
Friendly staff and great quality cuts and color work. It's pretty $$$, but when I splurge this is where I go!
Loved MJ’s work on my curls. I have so much more volume now AND got to keep my length. I especially appreciated that no one on the team tried to push any products on me after my cut, just a few ideas for me to consider. ????
Chrissy is amazing!
Everything they do is magic ✨
amazing atmosphere and kind stylists
Jillian was great! She was super patient with me. Actually listened to what I wanted, understood what I meant and clarified it with me. And the color turned out perfect... The salon is beautiful, everyone was lovely and they do great hair. I will be back soon!
Great atmosphere. Stylists are well trained and undergo higher education for color/styling often. Had a balayage done with organic dye and loved it. My stylist was Gabi and she was awesome.
Today was my first time at Edo Salon & I absolutely enjoyed the experience. Chelsea is a ROCK STAR!! She is such a perfectionist- spent an hour on my hair & I came out happier than before. There was no one pitching their products to me or making me feel terrible about my hair or skin. Thank you for being awesome!
Great place
Personally, as an out-and-out weirdo, I feel that Edo Salon presents a welcoming balance of classic meets trendy. The stylists always possess a level of warm neutrality at this professionally laid-back establishment. The design of the salon gives it a fluid atmosphere. The folks at Edo keep their clients in very safe, skillful hands. I've had my hair done by Jillian many times. Her process is collaborative, non-judgmental, and delightfully passionate. P.S. There is complimentary wine, tea, and a restroom stocked with Poo-Pourri ???? Always a joy to be at Edo!
Woman at the check-in desk made me feel unwelcome but the stylist was nice.
very friendly staff! and they did an amazing job on my husbands hair — no haircuts for the last 1.5 years (pandemic style) means they had to chop off not one, but two man buns. i’ve missed his short hair. he looks so young and handsome.
My favorite salon in the Lower Haight. The staff is always friendly, helpful and willing to try new things. I get my hair cut there but also braided from time to time. They're really innovative and come up with some great, funky ideas that work with your style. Also, Bumble and Bumble products seal the deal!
Victoria was the best!! She listened and gave me the perfect haircut. THANK YOU!
Fabulous haircut from Julia! Creative, conscious stylists. Comfortable and peaceful environment.

I had my first edo hair cut by Jewel and I've truly never had a better experience with a stylist. By far the most intentional haircut I've ever had. It was very cool to watch her work. I'm sure I'll be back, but it's hard to say when because its a sure thing this style will grow out beautifully over the next several months.
This salon is a godsend! I was in search of a salon that could help revive my tired blonde locks while fixing my roots. Jillian did that and more, expertly using bleach and color to resuscitate my hair. Not only are the hair color experts, they are kind, warm people that are honest and straightforward in every step of the way. Their prices are very affordable, especially when you compare it to the other high end salons in the area. Bonus, they have their own parking lot behind their salon.
Lauren is fantastic! Love my new haircut, will be going back for color. Must check them out, you'll love what edo salon can do.
Thoroughly impressed! I booked online for any available professional and I got Victoria (east bay salon!), who displayed so much knowledge about hair in general as well as my specific super fine thin hair. She was also excited to cater to my personal style, and made me feel very comfortable! The gal at the front desk was awesome, the music was great, I’m glad I came here!
The only salon in the area that had enough people to deal with a quick walk-in guest. One of the cheaper options but you wouldn't know because the stylists are so talented and experienced! Would highly, highly recommend to anyone in the area :)
I’ve always been apprehensive to the idea of finding a new hairstylist but Edo proved me otherwise! My partner tried them out, turned me onto them, and I followed suit. Kismet as it was, I got Katy (not privy to the fact that she has- for my sake, an immense knowledge of all hair curly and surfer style haircuts) who had the same image for my hair that I did, and followed with providing helpful styling tips for the future. If you’re a surfer, allow a trip to Edo in your budget every once in a while. Else-wise, my partner is a straight haired blonde gal and she came back from Edo with tasteful volume and texture for those who fit in that pocket of hair types. Cheers!
I recently got a trim and highlights at Edo. I am very picky about the color of my blonde hair. Edo did a thorough consultation to be sure he understood exactly what I wanted. My highlights came out perfectly. I will definitely be returning to this salon. If you are looking for a quality cut and color for a reasonable price go to Edo.
Very good hair cut !!!
I got a bad hair cut and came here for a fixer cut. Corinna did a great job and knew exactly what to do intuitively. The salon atmosphere was great. Classy and whimsical.
Impressed with their hair coloring and haircut services. The staff is super friendly and highly professional. They know exactly what they are doing and put in their best efforts t o make their client feel like home. I am in love with my hair. Can't thank them enough! Highly recommended!!
Samantha is AMAZING. I've gotten my hair cut short here a few times and it's always an excellent cut. Typically I've cut my hair short and Sam really takes when I'm asking for and makes it more better. The location is a little tough to get to from Somerville, no parking/limit public T.
Awesome place for style and color. Great people and we'll run.
