I booked an appointment to get a haircut using the online system. I arrived 5 minutes early to my appointment and was asked to have a seat. I waited for 25 minutes only to be told that my booking wasn't in the system and that they have been having some trouble with their online system lately and didn't have time today to cut my hair. They could have told me earlier so I didn't have to sit around for that long. Or at the very least, it would have been nice to have this information on their website or social media so that I could have checked in about my appointment and not treked all the way there. I was quite looking forward to getting my haircut done today, but this experience has left a pretty sour taste in my mouth.

First time here, and I honestly chose it for convenience since it's a block away. So wonderful here, though. My appointment was with Janelle, and she was so sweet. I really only wanted my hair thinned out and trimmed for the summer heat, and she went above and beyond to make such a vague description look bomb.

Before coming here I thought I couldn’t colour my hair anymore , but she uses products of high quality and my hair is much healthier now. After looking at many good reviews online, I decided to give Zoom a try. I went in for a full head of highlights done by Jason. He was very professional, positive, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He took the time to figure out exactly what I wanted for colour, as I had a coffee and cookie! This was above and beyond experiences I've had in the past at other places. The studio was beautiful, and very clean. The other staff were friendly, a pleasant atmosphere overall (and cute dog!). My hair turned out exactly how I wanted it. I highly recommend this salon!

I went to get full head of highlights on my brown hair, i wanted rare white strands all over my hair, i spent 220$ and left with my hair looking the same as it did before my appointment except she faded the color i had before coming to her, the stylist agreed to re-do it for free, i ended up with big spots of blonde at the top so my hair looks almost completely blonde and the under pieces still brown which is not what i wanted. All the other salons I've been to all my life always understood what i meant by highlights but not this one..

The place itself is very clean with a slick modern look. The guy cutting my hair was really friendly and talkative too; rad dude. They should charge for coffee too, cause that stuff was top notch. However, when it came down to the actual haircut I was not given what I asked for at all. To be fair, I do have a very different style than the average chap, but even though I brought a reference with me, I don't think my stylist glanced at it for more then a 2 seconds. The end result looked "eh", and I ended up paying about $60 for a guy's haircut, which was way too overpriced for what I got. I felt the stylist did more so what they wanted, instead of what I asked for. Haircut aside, nice place, nice people. Update: Returning a second time, I had a much better experience. Haircut was a lot better with Lindsey. :)

First time visit with angie, very kind not super chatty which I like. Sitting in a chair for an hr feeling like you have to talk the entire time isn't very relaxing and I work in customer service so its nice to not "be on" on my days off. Nice head massage, offered a drink. Meticulous very well done hair cut, but I think what I was asking for got lost in translation a bit. I showed a photo of my last haircut that I loved, a blunt jaw length bob. Kylie jenner vibes is what I was going for but left with more of an irina shayk look - more of a classic a line bob. I feel like its partly my fault for not showing a photo of the back, and I should have said something in the chair when I felt things going in the wrong direction. We discussed taking a bit of volume out so it didn't get the triangle effect, and having it slightly shorter in the back than front. Discussed taking 1 inch off all around... Left with 1 inch of length in the back - i can't even do a ponytail anymore. I had no clue just how short she had made it in the back until I got home, and I really didn't love how it was styled, so all I wanted to do was leave n be alone to wash n restyle it myself, possibly with a different part. After changing to a side part its growing on me thank god but I still feel slightly mom bob instead of modern n edgy. Overall besides the miscommunication still a good experience, suggest having longer than a 5 min consult to ensure both on same page, will bring multiple photos next time.

Great service and I had a good experience, however, I always get disappointed when I pick an expensive salon and expect to get an amazing haircut I couldn't get from your average great clips, but I wasn't wow'ed. My hair wasn't ruined (thank goodness as it sometimes is), but it didn't look any different. I still think my hairdresser did a good job - I just didn't think it was worth the $80+ I spent on it.

I keep on coming back to this salon time and time again! I get my hair cut by Jeffery who does a wonderful job every single time. Jeffery really gets my hair vision and my hair texture. They are also the type of haircuts that grow out really nicely. It's also great that this salon is super close to a skytrain station.

Made an appointment for a hair cut with Ivy as a new client at 1:15 — sat waiting for half an hour with no engagement from either the receptionist or Ivy, who I had been told when I arrived was "just finishing up" with a client. Left at 1:45, and which point Ivy passed by while I was heading out the door and shrugged that she was running "a few minutes" late. Can't comment on the quality of the haircuts, as they didn't really seem to have an interest in providing one, but it was a pretty abysmal customer service first impression.

I ❤️ Zoom! The entire experience as amazing from beginning to end. When you arrive you’re greeted by a friendly receptionist, given a amazing cup of coffee while you connect with your hairstylist and you can literally feel the happy, quality stylists in this salon. I see Raven every 3-4 months because she is super fun to talk to, is great with creating a natural look for my curls and my hair has never been healthier or looked better — in my entire life! This is the best Hair Saloon I have been to in my life. The atmosphere is friendly (always greet you with a big smile when you come in) and the service is great (offer you something to drink, coffee or tea right away). Lindsay is my hairdresser and she's the best, she's always up for a change (which I love!) and gives herself time to chat with you about the cut and color you want until you've reached a decision you both agree on will look great on you. I've always been very pleased with her work. All the staff are friendly and I have never seen a unhappy client in there. The big plus is the friendly shop dog Zorro who will greet you with wagging tail and will (only if you want to) sometimes come into your lap for some cuddles. I cannot recommend Zoom Hair Studio enough.

Very friendly, but I went in for a big chop and the 1 and only thing I asked for was that she keep it long enough to fit in a ponytail, and she cut it too short for that. It's a shame, because otherwise I'm sure I would have liked it, but now I'll have a few months of waiting for it to grow to the length I asked for.

Had toner appt. with Lindsey. She has the classic hair dresser superiority complex that I hate. She didn't really listen to what I wanted to do with my hair, she just did it. I went in to take the orangish color out of my once dirty blond hair. I believe the toner was left in for too long. My hair is now a very dark brown(almost black and not what I wanted) and one side of my head is darker than the other. Overall dissappointment. On the other hand, her assistant was very nice and they had a cute dog.

LIFESAVER, after my hair was badly destroyed by another salon I had been to before, I needed immediate help to repair as much of the damage that was done, in order to look good for an upcoming event. Although everybody was booked out that day, they called one of their associates and he had the kindness to come in within 45 minutes. The haircut I received was great, the ambience is lovely and the overall experience just outstanding. I can only recommend you go here;)

I have been going to Zoom for the past 2 years and I have since moved downtown Vancouver and still make the trek to Zoom because I've always left ecstatic with my hair. I've seen 3 different stylists (Natalia, Raven and Jeffery) and would gamble on being completely stoked with the cut any stylist at Zoom would have to offer. It is worth every penny and worth the drive/transit for me to come here. They don't just cut and style your hair, they also give advice about how to achieve salon-level hairstyles at home and how to properly look after your own hair (customized to you and your hair type). I wish I felt as carefully looked after at my own doctor as I do at Zoom. You guys are next level ????

I was met by Angela who is a very nice girl. She greeted me, offered me a tea and we took some time to discuss what I wanted. Had a great experience. Jeff was awesome. He was super nice and actually listened to the length I wanted to keep which I've had so many issues with in the past. Lindsay is also great she has done my cut in a previous apt. I had to bring my 5 month old and all the staff were super nice about him talking to the roof the whole time. I've even made an appointment next week for my 9 year old daughter. Great place, decent pricing. I'll deff be going back and would recommend to friends and family.

After searching and reading reviews for various hair salons I chose Zoom as the place to go. Despite getting an OK cut I was shocked at the bill of $80.35! My hair was short to begin with and the stylist only had to cut an inch or so off the front. Charging $80 for JUST a cut seems an outrageous fee! Will not be back!

I’ve had such incredible experiences with Raven from the Zoom team. Upon first visit, Raven cut my hair, really taking in to account my face shape, hair texture, desired style and how I wear it day to day. The result was incredibly detailed and clean cut, tailored specifically for me. I’m very picky but simultaneously don’t know too much about hair and Raven was able to use my bullet points to create an utter masterpiece. I have never enjoyed a haircut this much, and it grew out really well to boot. After this, I knew that Raven was my go-to hairdresser and I could trust her with anything, including my colour. Next appointment I booked was for a blonde balayage and she exceeded my already high expectations. I quite literally can’t stop looking at the dimension she was able to add while perfectly matching tone and colour to suit my complexion. The shop and area was extremely clean and covid safe, and we finished ahead of schedule. She’s such a gem of a human as well, it’s always a pleasure to chat with her throughout the process as well. I would recommend Raven to anyone and everyone, even if you’re out of the city she’s worth travelling in for. Thank you Raven and Zoom for this honestly life changing colour!

Look. I'm not one to confuse correlation with causation, all I'm saying is that since Jeffery started cutting my hair 2 years ago I've received 2 promotions and have seen the level of respect from my colleagues / bosses go through the roof. As I said, correlation doesn't equal causation, but I'm pretty sure the haircuts from Jeffery, and his style advice, have played a role.

Overall it was a great experience. The price was great, the environment was friendly, the staff are all nice and positive people! The stylist I had was Natalia, and she was absolutely wonderful! Natalia did a phenomenal job with my hair coloring. She evened out my natural dark brown almost black hair, and added a cool ashy, gray/brown tone to my ends. In the process Natalia was very kind and patient with helping me decide what tones would look best on me.
