Jane right off the bat was so accommodating. I called at eight o'clock at night when her online hours said she was closed. To my surprise she answered and was happy and willing to bring me in that same night within a half hour. Very professional attitude clearly knowledge in hair is infinite. Her prices are more than fair. Lots of choices when looking around her store at product selection. I have definitely found my new hairdresser. She asked me to pic message her what exactly what it was I wanted and told me to come on in. Thanks Jane for an experience that can be nerve wracking when trying to find a new hair dresser become an easy going and stress free experience. Five stars all around. Anyone in New Westminster who hasn't visited her shop for extensions or anything if the sort I truly believe it's your loss if you don't pop in and make an appointment, you won't be disappointed. So happy I've found my new braid and extension specialist so close to home.

I asked for my hair to be done with the salon owner when I booked my appointment. However, when I showed up I had a women who spoke minimal English and had never done locs before. My appointment went way over time so I was late for work after many trial and errors of communicating what I needed done. Almost 5 months later and my locs are falling out. My locs were wrapped at the roots with synthetic hair which has damaged most of my hair and caused 3 locs to fall out. Our hair is important to us. We don’t want to be going to places to help our hair only to end up with our hair worse off.

Will never go back. Got box braids done and they added on wayyyy too much hair. My hair was so heavy and painful I had to take them out the same day I got them. Lost $220. Called the owner and she did nothing about it. Poor customer service.

They always have what I'm looking for, whether its for me, my son or daughter. It has a very down home feel to the store, it doesn't come off as a tourist trap. The product range is deep, it reminds me of shopping at home, the same things I would find on Crenshaw, or in Baldwin Hills or even in Pasadena.

I've been here a couple times now and I have found some wigs that I like. The only thing is that they don't seem that friendly. I was genuinely curious about extensions and don't know much about it and they would answer my questions matter of factly kind of way. My experience wasn't the friendliest but the hair products are not bad for the price.

Best Afro Hair Salon in all of BC. I drive 45 min to have these ladies do my cornrows although there are Afro Hair salon on commercial (which suck and overcharge with terrible vibes) Empress Hair Salon holds amazing postive vibes, friendly , fair and do outstanding quality of work

Awful experience! Blow dried my 4c hair using a paddle brush and yanking my head back with every stroke, didn't even bother to hold my hair at the root, or detangle first. They used ONLY pink oil (no heat protectant) on my hair, causing it to smoke when she dried it. Worst of all, the owner said the store was closing and for my hairdresser to "hurry up" so she left me with one half of my head matted and damp. To top it off, the cost was inappropriate for an incomplete and poor quality service. I would not recommend their services if you care at all about your hair!
