So I had one bad experience here but I have respect for the owner to reply to this bad experience I shared. She offered to make it right and did a bang up job giving me a short cut. I am disappointed to have lost the long hair but I do have a fierce looking spunky short cut to show off. I will return and give the salon it's deserving go to see what everyone else has been talking about with all the good service and cuts :-) Thanks Chelsea for making it right

Nice, friendly environment and prices are GREAT. I was talking to a friend who moved to Nanaimo a year or so ago about hairdressers etc and she had gone to 3-4 different salons until she found someone she liked. She told me that the prices for cut and colour were basically the same at all the salons (higher than she had been paying in Alberta) and figured that that was the going rate here so she decided to stop looking. I told her how much it cost me and she was shocked! I paid $50-70 less for the same thing. I've been getting my hair done (cut, colour) by Chelsea for several years now and I would recommend her all day long. She's amazing!

I just paid 600$ for me and my daughter to have our hair done. I got a root touch up and a trim and my daughter got ombre and she was there for 7 hours. They left dye all over my forehead and neck. There is a few spots that my daughter's hair is not right. 400$ for ombre is outrageous and not to mention she was in tears the next day when the curls were gone. It was definitely a lesson learned and I will not be back. My daughter and me should have looked like a million dollars leaving there for 600$ I was in tears and felt sick to my stomach about it.

The only place I go to now to get my hair done. The owner and her staff are always friendly/upbeat, respectful and professional. They are upfront about the costs and will work with you based on your budget and what you want to do with your hair. I have never walked out of there disappointed!

What a wonderful experience, with an awesome group of women!!! You's took your time and care to put together a wonderful plan of action to fix my hair after the terrible fiasco I went through from a different salon that cooked my hair. To Jenn specifically, you are an absolute credit to your profession!!! You gave me a very enjoyable experience and a beautiful haircut, colour, & style!!! I was amazed with how you brought my hair back to life...as long as you are in this profession I will always be your customer, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Keep up the great work Ladies. Excellent salon and service from Rayna! The salon is clean and the staff are friendly with a professional yet casual vibe with customers and each other. No snobby stylists here! Staff with free time came over with tips for my stylist to ensure the best possible outcome and also offered beverages and refills regularly. What a nice touch! Rayna did an EXCELLENT job on my hair. I'd never seen her before and I was looking for a completely new style. She was open to my guidance on what I thought would look best, but also brought her expertise and I am thrilled with my hair, which is fine and straight and she was able to give it great body and style. Well worth the money (mid-range salon cost). She is also a very friendly and made me feel very comfortable and social right away, which usually is not the case with me and stylists. I saw a variety of clientele: women, men, children, and seniors. I think it's pretty likely the salon has someone on staff to meet all types of hair needs. And a big bonus is that they are open on Sundays! I will be returning and I hope this review encourages you to check out the salon because I know how hard it is to find the right stylist.

Definitely the best salon in Nanaimo BY FAR. Walked in looking like a stack of hay and came out with a very clean, crispy fade. Rea even helped me out with my caterpillar eyebrows and now im pretty much at my full potential in terms of how good I can possibly look, without working out.

I had such an awful experience at this salon. So here it goes like , as me and my friend went for permanent hair straightening and we confirmed twice with them that we do need a permanent hair straightening and they said yes, they can do it and it will of course last permanent as like they guaranteed us. And right after the first hair wash, our hair went back to the normal and even worst. This salon literally lied to us and we went back and fourth to their salon for the compensation. And inspite of just apologizing, Chelsie(manager) blamed us that they never said it was permanent and they were only supposed to be last for month, which is silly because it didn’t even last for a week. Anyhow we asked Chelsie to fix our hairs or give us refund for $200 that we spent. She said she will call back us within a week by consulting with the owner and we never heard anything back from Chelsie. I would say She is such an unprofessional manager that i have ever seen. I would just never ever recommend anybody to go there after this terrible experience. Their staff dont know how to do their job properly.

well i asked for a graduated bob and she took straight cut the bottom of my hair nothing else. i asked that not alot be taken off the back and i ended up with about an inch and half hair left on the back and now cannot put my hair back in a ppny tail like i asked to in the first place. i left an email,called 3 times left my phone number and not one phone call back now day 4 . i also spent $55 on this cut never paid that even in high end salon for this cut. my hair look horrible.

I saw three different people at this salon, Sarah, Nicole and the nail tech. Sara was amazing, it is hard trying to find a half decent salon on this island. Thanks Sara! If you want some great eye brows see Nicole. I cannot remember the nail techs name, she was new; did a great job with the gel polished manicure, though it was advertised at 50% off. I did not receive this discount.

My sons hairstylist did an awesome job, however the poor review is due to my daughter having to have her hair redone elsewhere. She has long curly hair, found out it was trimmed wrong and one side was an inch longer than the other. I guess it was partly my fault for not asking if they specialize in curly hair. At least I know now and luckily the new stylist we saw was able to fix my daughters hair, and maintain the length.

Wowsers. Thanks to the entire team at Hair Tech. Love this local salon so much. Always treated like a princess on my day off here. My hair looks beyond amazing when I leave here and I get so many compliments from strangers... as I transitioned from brown/grey to fabulous blonde. Never once did I ever have any orange brassieness which was my fear for such a huge change! I am just so impressed how they perfect the colour every single time. My hair always looks professionally done. I have been going here for years and love the full services they offer. The camaraderie between the coworkers shines here as does their genuine caring of all their clientale. They always seem to be having so much fun!! All I can say is keep up the amazing work Hairtech and I'll see you in 6 weeks!!! PS...so affordable as well and the central location rocks!!!

I had a great experience here with Leesy! It was my first time ever dyeing my hair and she was super friendly and patient and really took the time to make sure everything was how I wanted. I'm thrilled with the end result! I will definitely be back to Hair Tech to see Leesy :)
