I had an appointment for my daughter at 5pm on Feb 16/2020. The salon was supposed to close at 7. There was a snow storm so we arrived at 5:06 and the store was closed! Did not get a phone call to let me know as they are incapable of marking down the right number. I called the next day on the 17th at 4:09pm and asked for a discount as we respected our appointment and drove in the storm and they did not respect our appointment, she refused to give a discount. Really unprofessional over the phone and when I told her I will make a complaint she had no issue with that and basically told me "ok have a nice day" . Will never go here as this company is not worth a cent for how they couldn't care less about their clients!!! My advice go somewhere else that respect your appointment and having you as a client.

Update : When first leaving the salon I was pleased with the cut. I had my hair up for a few days but after washing it and straightening it today I realized how CHOPPED it is. I had asked for no layers and my hair is completely uneven now, random layers and one side is longer than the other. I feel bad because the girl that cut my hair was really really nice. I’m sorry. The blow out was good. I’d use their service again for a style but not a cut.

Absolutely unprofessional. I came to get my hair highlighted with blonde and it turned out to be brown, hair stylist asked me to come another day so she can fix it. Next time i went she said if i go lighter my hair will get damage. Why didnt she tell me on the first place before she even touch my hair. I would never come here.

My son never had such a bad haircut in his life he's 7 years old stayed very still for Hilary wanted Mohawk style on top and short on the sides. She cut so much of the top he can barely spike it and it was nice and long coming in completely uneven and not only did she give him a terrible haircut she didn't even care that she had. Worst haircut experience of my sons life and he's had some other bad cuts in his life but this I just couldn't believe the lack of attention into it. It should be 0 stars but won't allow it. I have never been so dissapointed and I normally don't complain about minor imperfections especially on a child however this was a complete disaster. I will never return. And I intend on contacting management about our disassifaction.

I went here with my mother (first time) for haircuts and styling recently. My ma also got an eyebrow waxing. We're both pleased with the results. Kim (our hairstylist) was friendly and professional about our hair and our preferences. The customer service was efficient and attentive toward what we wanted. We booked an appointment in advance and it was a smooth process. I'd recommend anyone to not be afraid to ask about pricing of what you want beforehand, as they're pretty transparent about that (based on our experience anyway). Altogether, both my ma and I would come back here again.

I love SmartStyle hair salon! They always understand how I'd like my hair to be cut, they always answer every question I can to my satisfaction and I've not once left unhappy until... I asked them to add suttle blonde highlights to my hair. After the bleaching, fouling and drying was finished it looked okay.. I wasn't the happiest but I thought I couldn't make it work. I bought a purple shampoo to take the yellow tinge out of my blonde highlights and it's not working well.. my highlights don't even look like highlights, it looks as if ty frosted my hair and the "highlights" are spread out unevenly trough my hair. It looks awful and I'm so sad to have had this expiriance. Any time I'd go in, I'd always leave happy and I've always been so greatful! I know they happily fix hair if the plan didn't go so, but because of the fact that I wanted to try to make it work I lost that chance.. I'd love it if the team could find a way to fix my hair, I stare at it ever day wishing it could just go away :/.

Purchased a CHI flat iron at this store. After a few days it stopped working. I went into the store with my receipt and was told that I was unable to return the defective product. After waiting a week to speak with the manger (who was away on vacation - and the only person who was able to assist me) she informed me that they do not do returns even with a receipt. DO NOT buy any products from this store, buy from a store that stands behind the merchandise they sell.

I got a lady who had golden blonde hair and seemed like she was the owner of the store. I just got a haircut no colour quickly for thanksgiving and I wanted a massive change and chopped off half my hair. I asked for the length to be to my armpit and very long layers to make the cut not look blunt. Lady made layers a bit to short and my hair a bit to short but I still love how it turned out. I suggest saying what you want but half and inch longer and then you will get your desired length. Lady gave me lots of tips but seemed like she was trying to sell me everything in her store. I felt a bit guilted into buying something so I bought some of the design line silk drops and I will admit there very good. I was expecting to pay 30$ but price quickly made its way all of the sudden to 52$. Overall pretty good experience. But wouldn’t choose to go here again, I had no choice because all hair cutters were closed on thanksgiving Monday except them and I decided to take the chances.

I’ve had the worst experience ever in this location. I went there to do platinum blonde highlights of my entire hair and I was very unsatisfied! I ended up with very thin highlights with different shades and was a lot darker than what I asked for. I have also showed them a picture and they did nothing like it. The worker wasn’t a professional at all and I have no clue why they would hire such people. I talked to the manager to ask her if she can do something about it and refused to... they didn’t even apologize!! As the manager told me Walmart has sold their corporation business to a private owner, there were many changes and they didn’t know how to deal with customers properly ever since. I do not recommend anyone to go there. I have been a customer for the past couple of years and they have absolutely lost me and my friends from going there! Thank you!!

I will just post what I put on Facebook. Just remember I was happy with my hair. It's not the point here I went to walmart to the salon cause I wanted high lights. And didnt want to send to much on it. I had color and foils and a trim and dry. No curl or straightening. When I went to pay I was shocked it 200. I never said a word to the girl. She was good and dont make the prices. So I called there head office to see if there was a mistake. Nope in fact she didnt charge enough. Should have been more cause my hair is past my shoulders. This is how it was broke down. I am just gonna round up the numbers. 88. For foils ( cause past the shoulders) then 58 for color ( should have been more cause past the shoulders. 26 for cut and dry only That adds up to 172. Then tax is 22 GRAND TOTAL FOR A SALON IN WALMART IS 194 then tip!!!!! I could have went to a much nicer salon than walmart. Listening to kids crying and people everywhere. So just heads up. Just because it's in a walmart building it dont make it a cheaper place to go!! I would have expected this price a nice quite salon that offers you coffee or water. Not a walmart salon. Very unhappy customer!!!????????????????

Took my son there yesterday to try and fix a hair cut attempt I made on him the previous evening. I just needed it blended a bit better on the sides. The lady spent about 5 minutes on his hair, and I was surprise when she said it was done. I wasn't sure how to react, it didn't look any better than before - and she charged me full price - $18 with tax. Based on the quality of their haircuts, I think I should put in a job application - because it seems anyone can cut hair there... and $18 for 5 minutes is great money! Never again - I won't even go back to try and get them to fix it. Just don't do it!!!

I arrove at the hair salon with dark red hair, but about 3 inches of new hair growth was a beautiful rich copper/orange and my roots were bleach blonde and dark blonde, my hair looked like a weird piece of candy corn (after a bad experience from Sally's) it was also stiff, dry, and crunchy from the products that I used from Sally's. But a hairstylist (or more accurately hair magician) named Bianca was able to use her immense talent to transform my hot mess of a rats nest into the most stunning/striking copper/orange shades I have ever seen! I can't stop smiling, the cut she gave me feels so much lighter, my hair is so soft, and the colour is just out of this world! Freaking hair sorcery! *two week update* the colour completely faded after one wash ???????????? I loved the colour but it wasn't worth $300 to only last one week

Went over on Friday afternoon to get a quick cut. There were others getting thier hair done or cut in all chairs. No issues told me to come back in 15 mins. I went around the store looking at things and then I went back. They now had almost all chairs open but one so I thought great I will be taken care of now. Well I,was wrong. Two of the younger ladies told me I had to wait as they were heading outside for smoke breaks together. Told me to take a seat and they would return. Now there was a older (Not meaning senior) hair stylist just finishing up another customer. She cleaned up and asked me to sit at her chair and cut my hair. She did a fine cut, in the mean time the other two came back and both look put out because the one that was left did my hair and they lost my cut. So that and the cost to get a hair cut there will not bring me back ever. Your price to cut a mans hair is so high. There are other places in town that do it for $20 and I add tip. Look around to get your hair done dont use these people even if you were degenerate. I dont want to hear back from you because nothing will change my thoughts. Besides you will say you are for quality service and so on. But your customers are not dumb thanks.

I am not sure why there is only one negative review in here! I don't know who the hairdresser is or what was her name, but I was much more than satisfied with the job she did! I took my mom to have a haircut there, and I didn't have high hopes as my mom has very thick hair and it's so hard to be managed, and rare are the hairdressers who know how to handle her hair, but this lady gave her the best cut ever, my mom and I were so happy with how the cut turn out, it was the best she ever had. I want to go to cut my hair today and I will update with another review if I will be satisfied or not as my hair is so different than my mom and is so thin and long, so I'll see, I hope it will turn out to be good. OK, and now an update of my review, yesterday, unfortunately, I got the worst cut ever and the worst service ever! My cut is so ridiculous, I came home and stayed all night trying to undo some of the damage, trying to cut it in better layers and I have no clue how to cut hair but still I did a better job that the so called hairdresser who cut my hair! I can't believe this woman is a hairdresser! I made it clear that I wasn't happy with what she did! It was so frustrating, she does not even know how to cut hair! She asked me if I wanted layers and I made the mistake of telling her yes! Big mistake cause she has no clue how to do layers! She chopped off my hair in the weirdest way possible, I got so angry, I specifically told her not to cut my bangs and she cut it the shortest she could cut and I was boiling inside! Now I can't do anything with these ugly bangs she gave me, I have to wait months and months until it grows back! I mean seriously?!!!! Plus, at the end when I was frustrated to the max, she asked me if I wanted her to dry my hair, and I said, yes of course, so she started drying my hair and she stopped when it was so obviously not dry yet! And I was like: Hello, it is still so completely wet! So she dried it some more and she stopped, then she went and started sweeping the floor while my hair was still completely wet! I was so angry at her! I took the hairdryer and I dried my hair myself! Wow, the worst hairdresser experience ever! So I guess it depends on which hairdresser you get!

Truly awful experience. I went to this "salon" about a year ago and wanted to change up my hair color. I explained what I wanted and the lady helping me went to go talk to her boss she explained it would be very expensive and take a long time (I was well aware this would be the case) I said yes ok let's do it . She then repeated it would be Very! Expansive. Implying I wouldn't be able to pay ( I look like an average middle class person I'm in my mid thirties not a teenager). The process did take a long time as expected. There is no bathroom in the salon so you have to walk out into Walmart and use their bathroom with the cape and your foils in. When she was done I noticed my natural hair color peeking through the brown black and mentioned this . The lady said oh that's just the lighting . After a few days the hair color bled out almost completely. I bought the shampoo and conditioner the salon suggested and it didn't help save the color. Because I had gone dark with blue and purple highlights the faded color was a total mess. Grey strips in Auburn hair by the end of week 2. I'm not even sure how this was possible unless they use semi permanent dyes. Would not recommend ever.

Very bad. The place always seems to be low on staff. Staff is very unexperienced. Only had one good haircut here and I think it was Jay. That was the only good barber. The rest seem like they don't know what they're doing and when you tell them how to cut it they do it completely wrong. Ask the old lady to make my hair slightly shorter and put a part line. She shaved the entire side of my head. Also she did not shampoo or wash my hair. However, I was still charged for it. Waste of 25 dollars. Would not reccomend, don't waste your time. She says she had 30 years of experience but it doesn't even seem like 2. The staff don't know the new styles and haircuts and are too old.

worst place ever, they completely ruined my hair and when the girl should have been fixing it she just left to go out for cigarette breaks. the only reason I went here was because they were the only place with availability, which now I understand why. the girl had no idea what she was doing, she bleached my hair when it didn't need to be, than changed it to 6 different colours and waited till her manager was gone to tell me because " she didn't want to get in trouble" now I had to pay more money to get my hair fixed somewhere else and now it doesn't feel like straw thank god. Visited Smart Style the Walmart #3165 on Jean Talon West. One hairdresser was busy & not free but offered the services of another . She did not bother offering information that the woman had just graduated from hairdressing school and was doing a Stage at this store. It took over an hour and a half for a simple blower (not including hair wash which took another 15 minutes) that should have taken no longer than 30 minutes. Never mind the lack of communication every time we told her something she would do the complete opposite!! Manager came in and told us thie girl was being supervised , but as far as I could tell there was absolutely ZERO supervision. The Manager was busy reading her magazine and the other hair stylis was busy with a client. Had FULL DISCLOSURE been revealed i would have had the choice of accepting or just leaving. Shame on You!! Manager did not charge but believe me I will never ever go again!!

Got my hair cut before a Christmas party. Asked for a trim, layers to be cleaned up and to be thinned out. Got my hair trimmed and then curled with a brush and hair dryer. Cost me nearly $55. The next day I wash my hair and it looks like a 5 year old cut it. Will have to spend another $50 to just have it fixed and maybe get what I asked for. I wish I had of complained while there but a language barrier prevented that. Will not go back.

It is located in the Walmart and is spacious with about 8 counters where hairdressing is carried out. The rates are competitive and compares well with it's competitors. You have plenty of parking facility and you can do your shopping in Walmart side by side when your children or others accompanying you get their turn at hairdressers. The person who cut my hair was nice but it seemed to be her first day, she was uncertain on what to do and had another hair dresser do the majority of the work. I booked an online appointment for a colour and a cut for 6pm (which was booked at 12:45 pm that same day) and I get a call at 5:30 telling me they can not do my hair because they close at 7pm. If the online booking was not smart enough to know that a colour would run passed closing why have a booking system. I would of book earlier in the day. But the 6pm time slot meant less running around. So when I said I booked early in the day why was I getting a call 30 min before my arrival time. She said I WANTED TO GO HOME EARLY. Since we don't stay passed 7pm. Then said if I had a problem take it to head office, when I asked for the number to them I was told to GOOGLE IT I googled it alright and was told that they should of stayed and did my hair. How do you screw up a 5 year olds hair? The lady butchered my sons hair before pictures. And mind you, my son is not a fidgety, difficult kid. He sits still, and listens. had my haircut there last Thursday. It was one of the worst cuts I have ever received. I'm not one to complain but this was seriously bad. There were clumps of hair left... the stylist didn't blend the part that was trimmed on the side with clippers to the part on top that was cut with scissors properly. Today I went to the magicuts on thorold store road by chance because I needed to get my hair done finally and to my surprise I found Kayce there. Probably one of the worst haircuts I've ever received... The top of my hair was cut terribly uneven, barely cutting it at all actually. When it was all done the lady left all the hair on my face and clothes without blowing it off with her hair dryer. Should have went back to town for a refund when I got home and relized how bad it was. Not sure how they cut girls hair but guys I would stay away from that place.

My wife goes for a cut and dye. When she gets there she has to cancel the dye because it went from $60 to $125 for the dye $150 for a cut and dye. They would not listen to her request which would have cut the $125 into like $65 but the would not do as she asked. So she cancels the dye and gets just a cut... they butchered the back of her hair, more choppy then the sea in a storm. I’m guessing that was because she did t want to get ripped off for the dye, so they cut her hair poorly.

I brought my sons in to the Orillia location to get haircuts, they are both autistic and have a very hard time wearing a mask, the manager tried to do them but they would not wear them, the manager actually came in to the salon at 8am (they do not open until 9am) so that she could get my boys hair cuts done while there were no other clients in the salon. She was very capable of dealing with children with special needs and I so much appreciate that she accommodated us because I have been cutting both of the boys since COVID began and it was bad! I had tried a few other “chain salons” in town and they refused to cut them without a mask. This manager explained about the rules and helped me find a solution. I will forever take my whole family there and tell everyone I know about this because I appreciate it so much! Also the salon was so clean and everything felt very safe for all of us.
