I was very impressed with how well this salon is following COVID-19 precautions. I had the privilege of having celena cut my hair. She was very informative on how to style my hair and any other questions I could think of. I honestly haven’t had great haircut like this in years. I’ve found my new stylist ❤️. So basically would I recommend onare salon? Yeah sure why not... the other stylists seem to be quite pleasant and cheerful. My stylist looked like she did not want to be there at all. She greeted me with a fake smile and just looked like she was not happy, maybe she was tired or having a bad day... I mean hair stylists are human too lol but she basically told me 4 times how damaged my hair was ( that's why I was getting about 4 inches cut off) I was hoping she would be more positive and kind towards the state of my hair. She was asking me about my hair and I continued to tell her what had happened and she abruptly cut me off and was silent the whole time while she was cutting my hair, there was no conversation which made things awkward. It was a very simple cut. Anyways.... I think I would go back again but have another person cut my hair ????

Welcome to Onare my I take your coat. A constellation with the stylist who listens to how you want your hair cut than a hair wash with your feet up and a head scalp massage to the relax your body. Linda cut my hair just as instructed, always checking with me that this is what I want done. Linda asked me before applying any products to my hair and than told me about each product that she used (all Saijojo and Bumble & Bumble available for purchase in the salon). When I left the salon I felt like a million dollars and did not want to wear a hat even though it was -8 degrees. Thank you Onare for always living up to my standards and more.

If you have curly hair, go see Martin!! He was incredible with my hair. Many stylists I’ve gone to have had no idea what to do with my hair. Dry cuts don’t work for my hair type/I don’t prefer them, and many other stylists I’ve gone to in the past have cut my hair the same way they would straight, fine hair, which never flattered my curls. At Onare, as soon as I sat in the salon chair, Martin knew exactly how to remove the damage from my ends, all the while shaping my hair and adding volume to all the right places. I’m obsessed with my haircut, its so beautifully and expertly done. The other staff here were also super friendly and made it a pleasant experience overall. Thank you so much, Martin and Onare!!

Pretty disappointing I went to the salon today super excited because I've seen a few positive reviews and unfortunately my hair cut came out to be completely different than what I had asked . Staff were kind but it's unfortunate that I went in asking for long layers and came out with short layers so much so that another hairstylist had to try to blend it in as much as possible because it was too heavy up top. Although Paulo managed to minimize the choppiness and did the best with what was the ens result but my hair did not come out nearly as close to the several pictures and what I asked the previous hairstylist .if only time and patience is taken to verify that the clients hair is matching the clients wants . It's rare that I treat myself and I came out regretting my one day away from the kids. What a shame

love love love love loved it. I went based on the reviews. didn't have high expectations. I don't remember the last time I went to a salon and got anything close to what I wanted. they are perfect. the colour technicians actually listen to what you want and then they actually deliver and do that. the girl that cut my hair did a professional job. she did a bob. no lop sided cut. no pieces longer than the other side. actually advised me on how to best style it. they don't leave u sitting there for other clients or to chat with colleagues. while they are busy and have other clients the appts are planned out well so it doesn't take forever. I booked my next appt in advance which I have never don't before. they are busy and you can tell why.

I had high hopes for this place as I have been searching for a go-to salon for a long time. I drove 30 minutes out of the way in rush hour to get there for my appointment, only to be told that they had not inputted it into the system. I'm pretty understanding about honest mistakes being made, but it was the indifference from the staff after the fact that made me feel like they didn't seem to really care. I didn't feel welcomed and the whole ordeal made for an extremely uncomfortable and frustrating experience.

I had the greatest experience with my hair in this salon. I got booked with Linda for haircut and before she cut my hair, she asked many questions about my hair and what I'd like to have done with it. She was so professional and friendly, she listened what kind of expectations I have. Together we picked appropriate haircut for my really damaged hair and I ended up with best haircut in my life. I left salon with healthy looking hair and I really appreciate Linda's effort, after how she was accurate with my haircut and how she polished my look I can say that she is highly skilled hairdresser (I had very bad experience before many times with other high class salons) and I can't wait when I will come back to her to get my hair coloured. I think after a years of looking for "my" hairdresser I just found the "one":)

I’ve been to the salon a couple of times now. Sarab has given me a balayage and cut every time I’ve been here and she does an amazing job. She’s patient and takes her time when doing the balayage. Not only is she very sweet but also is careful about what you want and I’m always so happy with the end result. There is no one else I would rather go to for my hair. Thank you, Sarab!!

I've been going to Sandra to get my haircut ever since she started working there. I got her by chance as my stylist and I haven't looked back since. She never disappoints. Sometimes I walk in and tell her to do whatever she wants, because I actually trust her that much. She was also the only one i trusted to cut off 14 inches of my hair into a bob. She's so fun to be around, always has the best stories to tell. I always enjoy my experience with her and leave feeling fabulous!!!

I have never been to a salon before, and figured that because I wasn't able to achieve the colour I was looking for by myself, I'd finally spend the money to get it professionally done. The staff were all very friendly, and the environment was professional and clean, however I came in for grey hair and left with grey tips (on the areas I dyed myself) and an uneven brown/blond/green throughout the rest of my hair. I naturally have black, thick hair. I am a reasonable person and asked if I needed to make multiple trips to get to the finished product. I also asked how much everything would cost in total to get to my desired colour. Of course they said it would depend on how far my hair would lift, etc. And for cost, they said it would depend on the experience level of the colourist. Understandable. So my first time visiting, I only expected to leave blonde. Before toning, my hair was very blonde at the roots, and orangey-blonde in the middle. We had to bleach a second time. Still not completely even. After toning twice, it was still pretty uneven, and I had various tones of brown, green, blonde, and grey. I also got chemical burns on my scalp, probably because the bleaching started at the roots and was left on the longest. The appointment was scheduled for 3 hours, but took 5.5 hours. I paid for an intermediate colourist and olaplex which is $120 + $25, but they charged me $220 after taxes. I did tip on top of that (I used to work as a bartender, so I empathise with workers who depend on gratuities), but I was never told why I paid extra. I assumed because of the amount of product they used they charged me, but it would've been nice to have someone tell me about it. I wasn't happy with it and while I was prepared to spend as long as it took to get what I wanted, there's only so much hair can take in one day. I was told I should come back in 6 weeks for them to correct it, but if I can find another place to do it completely and correctly, I'm going to cancel the appointment. I'm not likely to return here if I can help it.

First visit to this salon, told them I'm looking for a new stylist. Very welcoming, customer service was great. I booked an oil treatment and color toning with a consultation with Paolo before booking a haircut with him. Was very happy with my consultation. Only thing I'd say is that the extra $15 charge for blow dry after the oil treatment and toner was not disclosed in the beginning.

I had the pleasure of getting my hair taken care of today by Linda and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Why? Well, she took the time to listen to the ‘hair-story’ of my hair so she could understand how it got to its current condition. I was really sad when I got there today but she made me feel better just by listening and making me feel as though she was here to help and make things better - at least as far as my hair was concerned! She did. She really did and I’m very grateful and would like to let people know that if they are struggling with their hair and need some guidance- go see Linda. But first call the lovely salon coordinator named Linda also to make an appointment and I promise you won’t regret it. Great salon and very friendly staff, the setting is comfortable and the place is clean & professional. I was looking for someone who’s familiar with straight asian hair, the lady at reception scheduled me with Linda. Linda is very thoughtful and skilled, would recommend her highly! Only note - the location is very easy to get to, but the parking lot gets packed given most of the businesses in that plaza (Starbucks, onare, Rabba) have tonnes of traffic. Plan ahead or park near by.

Believe me....just bite the bullet, get your money out and get Mario to cut your hair! (or Max). I constantly go here and there and am ALWAYS time crunched...hate making appointments.... I cut my own hair (even though i'm obsessed with my hair)...then, I make the time, make an appointment and get the dream hair cut at Onare'. I've been seeing Mario since the 90's off and on and NEVER have been even remotely unhappy. Max has done my hair as well a few years ago, and amazing as well. They take the time, cut your hair in a manor which it grows in beautifully. Even now, I'm in need of a cut...am thinking of just trimming it myself...always a time issue with me....NO...I will call Onare' and get the job done right the first time!!!! Trust me.

I have been going to ONARE for several years. The owner, Mario, runs an impeccable business! The staff there are always happy and incredibly professional, from the Receptionist, right through to the most senior stylist! I am in the TV business, so I have little time to waste on guessing if I am going to get great colour or a fabulous cut. I can always count on ONARE to deliver. And image is "everything" in my business, so consistency is the key. I always get what I want in a quick and professional manner. Joanna does my colour and highlights. She is wonderful. She always has my best interests at heart and I also see her with other clients too....giving sound advice, but listening to their view. She is very thoughtful and friendly too. Linda Nguyen does my cut, and she is fantastic! She is very precise and knows her stuff! Linda is lovely and kind with a gentle demeanor. It is a pleasure to be in her chair. At times, when Joanna was not available, Linda has also done my root colour, and once again, a great job. I have also had my hair cut by Paolo in the past, and he is amazing! A great guy who is at the top of his game. He has been at Onare a long time, and I see the satisfied clients that come and go. In fact, I am positive that ANY of the stylists there would be outstanding because MARIO would not have it any other way. He has formed a fabulous team there and you can tell he is very proud of them. Mario is humble, kind and low-key, with a warm smile for everyone who enters his salon. I have also had my hair cut by Mario in the past, and he is extremely talented to say the least! They also sell a nice range of high-end products there, but I like the fact that they do not put any pressure on you to purchase, they suggest items for you only when you ask, and you can be assured that they advise you on the proper use for your needs. I highly recommend ONARE Salon to anyone! In fact, I have moved farther away over the years, but it is well worth the drive to south Mississauga for perfection like this!

As I had never coloured my hair before Sarab was extremely professional and fun to talk to and did an incredible job on my hair :) That day I had a midterm and was rushed so she made sure to accommodate me by coming in early and working very hard on my hair along with finishing up my hair (which looked beautiful) just in time for me to get on my bus to the university. I also just had a haircut and tone session with her last week and I am so happy with how my hair looks and feels. Awful. do not go here. i wanted cute curtain bangs and to maintain my current length with a small trim (which was long and way past my chest). ended up getting short hair above my shoulders and all my volume was gone when she cut up short layers. it looks like a mullet if i don’t constantly straighten it and it’s just awful. i didn’t even ask for short layers, we specifically talked about long layers and now she ruined it. i don’t know how she even got hired.

It is now a week after my initial visit to this salon and I'm telling everyone that asks (and even those who don't !) how impressed I am with my whole experience.....not just the fabulous cut 'n curl I received. Onare has an all around very professional and courteous staff - everyone - from the receptionists, to the shampoo staff and of course the stylists. All the clients seemed content and enjoying their visit. My mission was to find someone who could do a "beach wave" perm. I was advised to come in for a free consultation to ensure that my hair was suitable.....refreshing because most places will tell you yes over the phone without any kind of assessment. The receptionist suggested that I come in and that she would book a consultation and cut for the first visit with no obligation to have the cut done. She also suggested just booking the perm the next day (because there are only 2 stylists there that do them) and that way if it all worked out, I wouldn't have to wait too long to get back in for the perm. I agreed and she booked me in with Martin. Martin, having decades of experience, agreed to my request, we talked in depth about my expectations and then I agreed to a cut that would ultimately support the beach wave goal. Such precision! I can't remember any stylist I've had being that concise! My confidence in Martin was immediate. Perm day arrived and again, exceptional service and an outstanding result! I am extremely happy to not have to do anything to my hair after washing it and still look like I really should be on a beach every day! Ha! Onare has a new client for life!

Don't know what they are doing with curly hair Please be aware that if you need long layers they don't know how to cut into hair without making it look choppy, use questionable products for finishing the hair .

Went to this salon after reading all these amazing reviews posted here. I was getting highlights done after more than a year. Sadly, I did not get what I wanted, not even remotely close. The stylist I was booked with was so opinionated and kept shutting me down claiming that I probably got highlights done ages ago and what I was saying made no sense. I would just like to say that it really matters who you book with. I paid close to 200 bucks and stepped out with bleached hair at so many places with no toner at all. That's not what you would expect full highlights would look like. I had to come in again and have another stylist fix my hair. I did not have a good first experience here. Not sure if I want to go back. It's nice to be pleasant when you are in the business of making people look nice and feel nice. Being condescending isn't a good human trait in general too, I believe.

I got my balayage for the first time.Cindy did a good job. She understood my requirements patiently. She also covered up the previous color without extra cost. But i was schocked when I saw a hidden charge of $10 ( I am still not sure if it's $10 or $15) for simple drying. I was disappointed that the #1 salon of Mississauga have hidden charges like this. I hope they put this up on their website or give us correct quote before the service without confusing.

After reading so many great reviews, I went to Onare for the first time about 1 month ago. The salon had an amazing ambiance and all the staff very polite and helpful. My hairstylist was very nice and when we discussed what I wanted, I asked her to give my hair some shape and defenition but to not chop off too much of the over all length as well as to give me fringe in the front. I felt she understood what I wanted and she seemed to be working very meticulously. After the wash and cut, she blow-dryed and styled my hair; your hair always looks nice once it's been blow-dryed and styled, so did mine. I felt pretty happy about it and left. See, I normally get a haircut 2-3x/year meaning the cut is decent enough that I can go that long without needing another haircut. The problem with my Onare salon haircut is that now, month later my hair looks pretty much as shapeless as it did a month ago, before the haircut. That, in my humble opinion is a haircut not done well. As much as I'd like to give Onare a glowing review, my hair speaks otherwise. :(

I love this salon!!! Ashley K does an amazing colour and cut. Unlike some stylists, she actually listens to me and makes great suggestions based on what I'm looking for or what my hair needs are. Not only that, I have severe allergies and I never have to question that the staff have checked and double checked all the products they use on me. I've had other stylists who can't be bothered to know their products. This place definitely does know their stuff! I drive from out of the city just to have my hair done at this salon and won't go anywhere else. The staff are always friendly and professional. It's a very clean and nicely set up place. This place will go above and beyond for their customers. I had surgery and could only sponge bathe. I called them to have my hair simply washed for me and they "made" room in their extremely packed schedule to fit me in and help me out that same day! Such amazing customer service all around. I've heard some bad reviews and I think it's really unfair to the overall salon. This salon does provide teaching opportunities to new stylists. Clients can choose either a professional stylist at the standard rate or a new stylist for a significantly reduced rate. I've never once heard of a complaint about the professionals, and most people are generally understanding for the occasional mistake (and I mean rare, they are under strict observation) given they made the choice knowing that these new stylists are just starting out.

This review isn't so much about the haircut I got as it is about the exemplary customer service I received from the salon back in January this year. I had been to salon Onare before and was very happy with the haircut I got each time. However, I decided to try Paolo, the master stylist, the last time I went in and although I can't say he did a lousy job, quite the contrary, but I wasn't satisfied with the final look. The whole team spent more than an hour trying to make amends and change the look but when nothing helped, the owner instructed the receptionist to not charge me at all for the service. I was pleasantly surprised when I found this out and thought very highly of the owner. Even if the disappointment from the haircut was going to change my mind about returning to the salon, their customer service will see to it that I remain a loyal customer for life. Thank you Onare, you have a loyal customer for life!

Do not get your hair cut by Sandra. Waste of $120 dollars . Both hair cuts we got were not what we asked for. Sandra cut my hair in 5 mins and packed up and left. You can save your money and go to first choice or super cuts you will at least get a proper haircut and style. The Second hair cut we got instead of having proper layers the jr stylist just cut two layers one extremely short and one long and then kept cutting the front short. Save your money, go somewhere else.

Two weeks back I took my wife to this Salon. She had ignored her curly hair for quite a long as a result of which they were matted and tangled pretty densely and beyond help . There seemed to be only one option - cut it. But since they were tangled to almost at its root, it would be have to be a very close cut to the scalp.. and the look would have been not at all pretty! Not to forget that my wife was pretty nervous with having to face this outcome. Luckily, an angel called Priya saved the day! The appointment was for 5 pm. She decided untangling would be the best option. She started untangling using and kept at it for another 6 hours, i.e till 11 pm that night. This was 2 hours beyond the salon closing time. Forsaking her Friday evening plans and committing to the customer like this is beyond belief. We were charged very very reasonable fees for the services too! My wife and I would whole-heartedly like to thank Priya and Onare salon for not only accommodating us, but helping us to this extent. It means a lot to us. I cannot imagine any other salon or a person in this world would have done this! Much love!! Note - Do not forget too that this is during Covid.

I went in for a balayage service and was not happy with the outcome.I showed an inspo pic and was shown a “worst case scenario” pic and my hair looked nothing like either pic.I was asked how I liked it and I only responded with well it’s not the colour I asked for.It took all my night not to cry in the salon but I cried for the next two days.after I washed my hair the colour instantly became brassy which is what I hate most and the face framing highlights turned an almost green colour.I asked my stylist for a refund for my balayage as it was not what I was told it would turn out to be and I had to go pay someone else to colour correct my hair. She said she would have to ask the owner. I waited 4 days and the receptionist called me to relay the message that I will not be getting a refund. I asked to speak to the owner and she took my info and said he would call me.it’s now been over two weeks since my appt and he won’t call me back. I tried calling again on Monday and the receptionist said “all I can do is give him the message.” Which leads me to believe he is not planning on calling me back.I paid $250 for the balayage and my total bill was $386- the remainder was for my roots colour and cut/style. I only have asked for the $250 back not the full amount as that was done incorrectly.At the very least out of courtesy I would have expected the owner to call me. I will continue to try and call to speak to the owner.I am not rude at all nor am I an aggressive customer. I am just asking for what is right…it was an expensive service.My stylist is a very sweet person. I did not want to make her feel bad by saying I hated my hair but I really did. Please do what is right and issue my refund for the balayage since I had to get it corrected 4 days later. Thank you This is reply to the owners reply… Mario Verrilli you may want to fact check the message again. She said normally we can fix it but I’d have to message my boss to check. And I never got a reply till I followed up by calling the salon. And when I got a call back from the receptionist she said you would do nothing. Correcting it was not offered so please don’t say it was. And your receptionist said I’m sorry I’m just the messenger. I’m sure you’ve made her do that many times rather than calling the client back yourself. So writing FACTS does not make it a fact unless it was true! And yes, granted I was 10mins late (I drove an hour to come to your salon). Whether I booked through YOUR stylists Instagram account or not it was a service at your salon so passing the blame doesn’t help. Also, she was aware of my roots being coloured…I also had to send her a picture of my hair. Nothing was a surprise, they only thing that she didn’t account for was she had to colour my roots as she did not ask when I booked the appt. she had asked for my last appt booked which was a month prior that I had cancelled. So please Sir, be a little respectful to your clients, past or present. And a little humbleness goes a long way. At no point have I been rude or disrespectful to you or anyone. You won’t talk to me so this is the only way I can communicate my issue. A simple phone call could have resolved the issue. Thank you ????

Based on this experience nobody should go to a salon for service. If the service is reduced and provided without services included in price, the price should be adjusted and reduced accordingly. Imagine having a trim of medium long hair (up to the shoulder) without styling, leaving a salon with wet hair and paying the full price ($152.55 tax incl).

I called to book balayage hair colouring last Friday hoping to have my hair coloured for Saturday evening. I had never been to Onare Salon before but decided to try it out because of the reviews. The receptionist on the phone was incredibly polite and professional. They were booked - but offered to take me at 7am (before they are even officially open for the day). I was shocked at the high level of accommodation, especially given that I was a new client. I was very nervous to colour my hair as I hadn't coloured it in over 10 years. Ashley did balayage colouring on my hair. Not only was she lovely to be around - but I am SO happy with the results. This salon has a clean and friendly environment. A group of true professionals! The staff is friendly and welcoming, they coloured my hair exactly the way I wanted. However, the haircut was not what I asked for! when I showed the hairdresser the cut that I wanted he said “you can’t tell the type of cut from a picture”... and started laughing like it’s irregular for someone to request a style based on a picture! Also, they are very overpriced ... it caused me to be reluctant to go to a salon because of being misinformed about how much it costs. They quoted me 300 at the beginning of my visit and I walked out paying 500...Then they decided they wanted to curl my hair and take pictures at the end and didn’t even end up posting it. So the only thing I was actually looking forward to at the end of the visit they didn’t do.

Finally threw in the towel, spent too much time and money with an end product that was nothing like I asked for. Some staff is friendly and others are very rude. I have been going to Ashley for about two years now and must say that Ashley at Salon Onare in Mississauga has got to be THE best colorist in the GTA, and certainly the best colorist I've ever been to in any of the major cities I've lived in. She gives a thorough consultation, takes a real detailed and somewhat scientific interest in your hair, and I have never seen a stylist pay such close attention to the timing of the color! She stays right on top of the process, no distractions, no wondering where Ashley went! I had been trying to get rid of (or avoid) a golden-toned, or copper brassy blonde, and no "colour specialist" stylists at even the best salons could ever seem to get me where I wanted, until I started working with Ashley. It wasn't instantaneous, but with patience and precision, she's gotten me to the cool blonde I've always been seeking. I live in Collingwood and sometimes my stylist there takes me back a step, but she doesn't scold or shame when I return to be fixed. We just go back to getting to a pretty pale blonde. Thanks!

Decor and staff were nice but I was not happy with how my hair turned out. Asked for an ombré instead what I got was just a brown hair dye. I consulted with the colour tech and told her i didn't see any fade of blonde and was advise it takes few washes to see the ombré. I would not recommend this place for anyone trying achieve an ombré look. Very disappointed to have spent money on something i didn't get.

So happy that I found this salon! Everyone is very friendly and talented. My hair stylist is Sandra. M and I highly recommend going to her. I went to two hair dressers to get a balayage done before seeing Sandra. Both hair dressers butchered my hair and clearly did not know what they were doing. Thankfully, Sandra fixed my hair and it's exactly what I want. She is amazing and really pays attention to what the client wants. Go book with her now!!

One of the best experiences I’ve had in a salon. The professionalism and friendliness for my first visit exceeded my expectations. I have conditioned myself through the years to not be too strict on the outcome as my hair never ended up to be how I really wanted it so I thought it was perhaps how I was describing it. This was the first! I got everything I asked for with the balayage and cut. I asked for the master colour technician and a senior stylist and both were very informative, knowledgeable and did exactly what I wanted. I am extremely impressed and pleased that I have finally found a salon that was worth every penny. The big franchises are nothing compared to you guys! Good job and I’ll definitely see you in 6-8 weeks!

I have been coming to Onare for over a decade. The staff is absolutely amazing. Working in the television industry means my hair and overall image needs to stay on trend, polished and professional all the time. My colorist Ashley always knows how to keep my color healthy and vibrant looking, and being a blonde with dry curly hair means my strands need extra TLC. She suggests the Olaplex treatment and it has changed the texture of my hair completely. My stylist is Paolo, and I am grateful that in between his celebrity clients he fits me in and takes his time. I love sitting in his chair and basically just trust him and leave my cuts and styles in his hands. The talent and value at Onare is second to none. Thanks to the team for getting me camera ready all the time.

I got my haircut today by Cindy, she was super nice and helped me decide what exactly to do with my hair. I was a bit nervous since I hadn't had short hair in a really long time but I knew I could totally trust her and i'm glad I did, i'm in love with how my hair looks. I recently got a cut and colour by Sarab, this was my first time getting my hair coloured and she did a stunning job! I highly recommend Sarab for anyone looking for a bold but natural look! She gave me a v cut and made my long thick hair have so much more movement and body. The colour was perfect, she blended shades of brown seamlessly with my natural hair and the lighter tones in my face framing layers pulled the whole look together. I received sooo many compliments on the colour and style! Sarab’s service was impeccable she walked me through the entire process made me feel super comfortable and overall just had a great time getting my hair done!
