Asked for a very simple haircut, the man barely understood what I wanted making me uncomfortable from the beginning, and when he finished I could not believe how bad my haircut was. He tried to finish as fast as possibly and put as little effort possible. The haircut was also extremely overpriced. Do not recommend avoid if possible.

Got my hair dyed and cut. Asked for an inch off they took 6 inches off. Hair was thinned without consent because "its taking too long to dry". I was changed an extra fee for more dye to cover my bangs, and was not told they would be charging more. I was expecting $153 and paid $233 for a haircut that made me leave in tears. My layers are uneven as my hair was straighted before it was cut. Im extremely disappointed in the damage done.

I have asked for this haircut several times from other stylists and never been happy. Stephanie cut my hair exactly the way I asked for her to and I love the results. She didn't drag the cut out, she styled my hair the way I asked her to and she was very pleasant. I am also impressed by the way that Chatters invests in it's employees with regular training in the latest styles and trends. I will come back to this Chatters again. The store manager was also a positive presence in the salon, helping her stylists and friendly and upbeat and her hair looks amazing!

I was walking by the salon last Tuesday and remembered I am in dyer need of new shampoo, stopped in and was hoping to get some one else's opinion on what type. I was in there for ten minutes (maybe even longer) and even tried to get attention by walking over to another section and I didn't even have someone say hi to me. I was planning to buy two shampoos and possibly a lotion but left empty handed and disappointed. I will not be returning to this location.

I've been here twice and my first experience was great and it was a little expensive but it was worth it because The haircut that I got was awesome but my second experience was bad, I asked for the same haircut but I got a total different haircut and the back of my head was messed up because some parts are long and some parts are short. The staff here is SO helpful! I recently tried a new product that did not agree with my fine, curly hair. When I returned, the lovely lady at the front called their curly hair expert stylist to the front to chat with me about options. I left with some products and ideas to try along with some super helpful advice on how to get the most out of my hair routine! I called for a curbside pick up order to help fix the damage I had done to my hair (covid boredom lol) and the associate who answered the phone recommended some products and gave me advice on how to use them. When I opened the bag after I got home she attached a hand written note on how to get the best results from the product! I didn’t get her name but she went above and beyond for me and I will always be going back to chatters for my hair needs! :)

I've received the worst haircut of my life. If you read my reviews I vary rarely post anything negative. But beware Alex should not be cutting hair. She didn't pay attention to the cuts I showed her. Forgot to cut bangs and spent two seconds cutting them totally uneven. Never going back ever. I wish I could post pictures. I went to a different salon and paid for another haircut the day after my chatters haircut.

While my initial experience at Chatters was great, that was not the case this past Saturday. I did not receive anywhere near the colour I requested, the stylist was late starting and even more frustrating was that she was working on another client at the exact same time. While the staff are friendly, the noise level of the location is far too loud and this is not helped by stylists having loud, boisterous conversations with their clients as was the case right next to me. And why are there no chairs to sit on while waiting? I've never heard of that. Going to Mic Mac Mall is very out of my way and after Saturday's experience I will be hard-pressed to return.

Friend was not happy with results. They were not forth coming about pricing and just how expensive the job would be to complete the dying process. When called back, they were very defensive and not helpful and kept saying the same thing over and over again in a demeaning tone. Will not be coming back.

I wish I could give this place a 0 because I don’t even know where to start with how bad this so called ‘salon’ is. I don’t know how some of these girls got hired it’s a salon but 90% of these girls look like they have never seen a hair stylist in their life. And makeup like come on you work in the beauty industry at least wear some foundation and mascara I didn’t even trust any of their opinions because they look like they have no idea what they are talking about. Not to mention that when I walked in I had to say hello to them first? (Pardon me what?) and the one girl was behind cash on her cellphone. If you want awful service then please visit the store but if you actually want to get knowledge and be greated like a human then just keep on walking and don’t waste your time and money with them.

I made an appointment to fix a bad box colouring. The hair stylist started by insulting my intelligence for using a box colour. I should have left at that point but I really wanted my hair fixed before taking a trip. Two hours and $115 later, my hair looked almost exactly the same. After some whispering at the front counter, the stylist offered to 'fix' it for an additional $75 but I'd had enough by this point. I was told that it was my fault that the colouring hadn't worked. I responded to the company's customer survey and explained what happened. A week later, I still haven't heard anything back. I do not recommend this salon.

I have been seeing Kelsie at Chatters for color and haircuts for over a year here in Vernon and she is AWESOME! I had a boxed hair dye disaster and she was able to fix it and make it look beautiful. Most recently I had an appointment and wanted to go from blonde to brunette, and she did a phenomenal job! She is super kind-hearted and easy to talk to, and makes the time in the chair enjoyable and fun. She also gives great recommendations on products. I would %100 recommend Vikki if you're going in for a long hair trim - She was super helpful and really knowledgeable about all the products and even taught me a few things I could do to help the health of my hair while using heat. As Someone with Major Anxiety it took a lot for me to go in there and book the appointment, Vikki made me feel super comfortable and she was also really nice and friendly. Showed her two photos and still ended up with a haircut that did not match the photos. Will never return to this podunk chatters. What was worse. Listening to her nonstop talking about nonsequential mediocre stuff or watching her hack my hair and constantly reminding her what I wanted. She does not know how to layer or trim. My bill was 54 for a measly 2 inch trim and asked for long layers. I told her I dont need it styled. She went ahead anyway and styled it. So upset with this location.

Andrea is a hair goddess my hair is curly as hell. And she cut it so perfect for MY hair type. That’s what people need in this world. A good hair stylist. I got a great haircut from Angel today. It was exactly the trim I needed after neglecting my hair for too long. She is clearly quite skilled and talented. I also appreciated the fact that I was in and out in less that 40 mins but it never felt rushed. She took her time and it shows. In my opinion the price was totally reasonable.... First of all I am giving 5 large sparkly stars to Heidi. I recently saw Heidi for a big transformation. Heidi was professional and experienced. She considered my feeling first and helped me get the haircut I didn't know I always wanted. Heidi is new to Vernon and, Vernon we are lucky. My only negative comment is about the store front. I think removing some product and reducing the congestion of the shelves would make social distancing easier.

I arrived 5 min early and was told by reception to go and come back in 20 min, because she was still cutting hair. No problem. I come back and the hairdresser comes and say why am I late and that she has been waiting 20 min and she has another client coming. I looked and her and pointed to reception and said that she told me to leave and come back. After she talked with her, she said she was sorry and it was their mistake. Okay, no problem. Now I sit down and she ask me what colour I want. I proceed to tell her I want a cool blond. She looks at me and say " What! I don't have time for this. You only have 2 hrs and I have another client due soon!" I looked at her confused and said, when I booked my appointment over the phone I told the lady I wanted to go blond and my hair was a light brown. She said no problem. Now I'm sitting here and being lectured and told there is another client! I explained to her that when I made my booking day before I said what I wanted and she proceeds to tell me that I didn't explain right and she will only do my hair if I go dark. She then proceed not so subtle to tell me to take my coat and leave. I have never been treated to poorly by anyone in my life. I left a message to speak with the manager but that's really not going to happen. When you as a company make a mistake you don't take out your frustration or anger at your customer. You want to be treated with respect you need to treat others with respect as well. I was so dumfounded I walked out in shock not saying anything. If it was an honest mistake and they apologized and tried to make it right by booking me in another day and giving me a discount, then no problem. But to be treated like dirt and from the beginning be mistreated and blamed for everything is a whole other thing.

I went this place to colour my hair I asked for chestnut red colour, but I turned out orange after 2 hair wash at home. Initially they are unable to achieve the colour I asked , she has to reapply toner again, which was so time consuming washing hair 2 times and drying hair twice, on the top of for doing they charged me for colour separate which was 145$ and then for toner they charged 45$. I dont understand why they offer if they can't give grunted for thier service. Definately not recommended to go back this place my hair look horrible and I am not very impressed with this place as it described.

I’d like to start out by saying Valerie is amazing, and I will never go to anyone else. I had a not so great experience at Chatters back in July with an eyebrow waxing. After I left a review as requested by email, I was contacted and asked for a chance for the salon to redeem themselves and offered a free haircut + treatment. I haven’t had my hair cut since late 2016 due to being apprehensive after a cut that was done far too short. I finally bit the bullet today in preparation for a wedding. Valerie was incredibly kind and knowledgeable on what was needed for my curly (3-type) hair. She checked in with me before cutting and to make sure everything was as I wanted. She used all the right products and did an amazing job. Would recommend her 1000% Thank you for helping me enjoy my hair again.

So today I got my hair cut by Allie... after a fallout with my last stylist I was hesitant to try another place and my hair was super long so i was nervous to have someone I didn't know chop it off. But she did amazing! I'm super picky and always find something to pick out that I hate and I have surprisingly zero complaints for once.. plus she's super chill and it was super easy to have a convo with her.. I'll be in in a few weeks for her to hilight my hair. Thanks girl (: *** UPDATE*** I booked my appointment to get hilghts which after my initial haircut there with the manager she told me 120 for full head of hilights considering my new medium cut. The day of, actually 30 mins before my appointment I was in the mall having a coffee waiting and they call me and tell me the manager was sick with food poisoning and cant do my hair but someone else can.. I asked if the price would be the same cuz I know it differs from stylist to stylist and I was getting a lower end stylist to replace the manager/senior stylist.. I was then quoted an extra 80 bucks higher then what I was originally told... how that makes sense if I'm getting pawned off to a jr stylist is beyond me.. I feel like this was very poor customer service not to mention management skills... if ur the manager and u urself gave a price but bailed mins before ur appointment you should honor that price regardless of who ur handing the job off too.. it's not outrageous cuz I've had stylists do this with me before and i myself have done this since I work customer service. oh also not to mention I seen the manager in the mall not working the very next day.. some food poisoning.

I have worked at Chatters for 6 months and within that time I have heard and witnessed horrors. Shortly after being hired, I was told by employees what happened with the past manager, an incident that involved the cops being called and other employees banned from Chatters. The new manager (who was the greatest thing that happened to the store) was left to her own devices and restore Chatters reputation; all of Conestoga mall knows what happened. District Leader (DL) is the WORST! She gaslights her employees, insults their appearance, never wears a mask while in the store and coughs in people faces! DL told the apprentice stylist NOT to tell clients she was an apprentice, and then we had an incident in which she had messed up a client’s hair and the DL reamed out the manager for NOT telling the client apprentice stylist was an apprentice. DL will blame everyone else but herself. DL does not care about our mental health! They say they are inclusive, I have yet to see that. We have informed members of head office ways to improve Chatters to be more inclusive and we have been ignored and told that they doing a great job. During a meeting with the managers and district leaders, they were playing a game and getting know everyone, my name was pulled, and the manager was to say a few facts about me, DL interrupted and said she wanted to do it. DL decided to inform everyone at this meeting that I have endometriosis. That is MY MEDICAL information, she shared without my consent! DL said if I’m in pain to the point I need to take a seat that should take a leave or go home. Also, I should note that most days you work alone open-close without a break! I interviewed for a full-time and was told if was filled so I accepted part time. I later learned that was never a full-time position.

Annoyed. Went in for a simple clean-up. Assumed stylist (Alex) knew what she was doing, since I was never shown the back. Got home and upon closer inspection with a second mirror found that undercut was trimmed unevenly and hair in back was cut way shorter than the sides (even though I clearly said I'm growing my relatively straight bob longer - not angled!). Now it explains why she kept fiddling with layers I never asked for. Ugh... thank the gods my hair grows quickly.

I had an incredible experience getting a cut and style, and balayage at Chatters Hair Salon last Friday. First thing when I sat in the chair Allie told me that because I was a first time customer that the cut and style would be complimentary. They also offer a complimentary gift with certain hair treatments. At Chatters they refer to their clients as guests and you are truly treated to the best hospitality here! I had a very subtle blonde and brunette bayalage done over a year ago at another salon that had since grown out, and the blonde had become yellowy over time.I did not give very specific instructions in terms of what colour I wanted, just a blonde balayage with less yellow tones. I was blown away by the colour! It's a beautiful white blonde at the bottom where my hair was bleached before that transitions into a warmer light blonde, and then into my natural colour. Allie recommended that I go with the Olaplex hair treatment for the balayage to protect my hair from damage, which I'm glad she did since the ends of my hair had already been bleached before. My hair now feels so healthy, and is so shiny and vibrant! Allie is so personable. I had a lovely time chatting with her. The 4 hours sitting in the chair (I had A LOT of hair) flew by! If you are looking for a place to get top of the line salon treatment I recommend Chatters in the Oshawa Centre. Allie is definitely the stylist to go to for the best colour, and cut and style.

showed an image of what i wanted (colour my hair darker and have caramel highlights on top of that colour) i expected the hair dresser to have an idea of the colours to choose from and ask me if i approve. Instead she handed me the whole colour swatch book and expected me to choose it for myself and mix and match colours on my own, she didn’t seem to have an idea either. i felt lost and chose colours that i thought looked well together. In the end, the highlights had a greenish tint and looked horrible on the base colour. i had to sign a form before my appointment so i couldn’t really do anything. the next week i dyed my hair. i still feel terrible for paying that much money for a crappy job. if you’re unsure, just don’t do it.

I went in for a toning and hair treatment this month. I have previously gone to Chatters for toning, trim and hair treatment and it has been okay (not amazing and not horrible either) however this recent experience was most definitely bad. I was asked to write a review on mytime which was the service I used to book. I don't ever write negative reviews particularly because I don't negative backlash or my future services affected but I wrote an honest review expressing everything that happened during my service. No one from Chatters responded or even touched based about what happened, nothing. Misunderstands, expectations, difference in each client's hair type can affect the final result which I understand. However if a client politely asks for the hair to be fixed to their satisfaction, a stylist should never not stop talking to them for the duration of their appointment, vigorously comb their hair while it's wet thus causing a clump of hair loss which was then droped it to the floor and sliding it under their foot and away from view, and stop putting any heat protection and styling products. The fact that the stylist had told me a shampoo would correct the toning applied (which was actually incorrect, I had to get all the toner removed) and that was all I asked her to do, re-shampoo my hair. Just asking for a re-shampoo warranted this negative treatment, I can't imagine if a client asks for an actual cut or color correction for services rendered which are not to a client's satisfaction.

Ugh. On the positive side -- the store is clean, well-stocked and has convenient hours. After this pushy sales experience, however, shopping at this location will probably only be a last resort.

Chatters told my 15 yr old daughter that they would do a free consultation for her and her friend to see if highlights would work in their hair, which had been henna'd a year ago. When the girls arrived for their scheduled appointment the next day, (they walked 1/2 hour to get there) Chatters staff said the appointment was cancelled because they had to speak to their manager about doing a free consultation? They also said they would call my daughter back about re-scheduling the appointment but never did. The highlights were going to be paid for by me as part of a birthday gift to my daughter. Her friend was using some of her savings to pay for her highlights and the girls had been really excited to get this done before school started. This Chatters experience left them feeling confused and sad. Really disappointed with this very strange behavior. I give them an F for FAIL. PS. No option for zero stars or that's what I'd give.

Went in for a hair cut the other day with a lady by the name of Laura. She was friendly but seemed very inexperienced. At the end when she put layers around my face she was shaking and didn't cut the sides very even. She didn't style my hair at the end and didn't do any cross checks to make sure the layers were even throughout. She didn't even own her own pair of thinning shears which I thought was odd. One of the worst haircuts I've had. At the end she asked if it was fine and I quickly said yes cause I didn't want her to take the scissors to it anymore she made me quite nervous. $50 bucks wasted as now I need to find another salon to fix it.

Worst hair experience I've ever had. I told the stylist exactly what I wanted, even showed her pictures and she did the complete opposite. I wanted a blunt cut and she gave me very short layers. I wanted straight across bangs and she cut them unevenly with a middle part. Another stylist even came over to fix a section I guess looked bad? I wear glasses so I couldn't see anything going on until the final reveal. I was so upset, I went immediately to the bathroom, and then to the front desk and cried right there in the salon in front of the other stylists. I can't believe I had to pay for it!? And I can't believe the other stylists would allow me to walk out with the hair cut I was given. I will be calling the manager.

HUGE SHOUT OUT TO WENDY AND THE STAFF AT CHATTERS IN MASONVILLE!!! Wendy literally saved my hair and made me the absolute happiest customer! I got a bad perm that fried my hair (not at Chatters) - the tiniest rods were used and instead of ending up with spiral curls, my hair turned into a very big frizzy mess (see before pic). When they realized they didn’t have the product they needed to perm my hair back to straight, instead of telling me they couldn’t do it or to come back another day, Wendy actually left the salon in the mall and drove her car across town to a CosmoProf to buy the solutions needed to get rid of my perm! That alone is above and beyond amazing customer service! I don’t know many salons that would do that. The process requires putting the solution in and brushing the hair straight for 20 minutes. I don’t know how she did it, but Wendy was able to effortlessly comb through my very tangled hair without any issues or ouches from me! The whole process took about two hours, including the shampoo, perm reversal, few more shampoos, trim, blow dry and style and to everyone’s shock and amazement, my hair went back to normal. Everyone in the salon was happy and cheering because no one could believe the difference in my hair. They charged me a more than fair price of $113 plus tax for the perm reversal and they did not even charge me for the products they had to go and buy! I will definitely be back to Chatters and back to see Wendy! I highly recommend this salon. BONUS: my hair was always a bit unruly and kinky – since the perm reversal back to straight, my hair actually looks better than it did before! I now have beach wavy beautiful hair straight from the shower! I’m beyond thrilled. Thank you Wendy and Chatters!!! ????

This location has a very limited selection of flat irons. I came from DT as this is the closest one. I was disappointed when I saw the wall of curling wands and no flat irons, but my negative review came from the blue haired girl working the floor. Terrible. Stylist was shown a pic of inverted bob with fringe (bangs). Back cut is okay; when he was asked about the bangs, he said I shouldn't. When I insisted he wanted me to decide on how much! Came here to get my son's (4yo) hair cut and so happy I did!! Wish i remembered the lady's name. She was amazing :) Super sweet and honestly the best hair cut my son has ever had. She took her time and made sure to get every last rouge hair. Lol. Definitely recommend!!

Staff are nice and have good personality but I only came to get my hair cut shorter for a job and prefer growing my hair long. Otherwise this place is decent enough for a good mens haircut.

I tried going to a barber once. It was awkward and slightly weird. So I go here instead and I love it! The staff is always friendly, the service is great and the team feels more like a family that always makes you feel welcome, whether you were just there a couple weeks ago or coming back from a long trip, there is always someone who is ready to give you a great haircut, and who won't make you feel bad for not having any facial hair or a beard they can wax.

Braelin has been cutting my hair for the past 5 years, not always at this location but nonetheless she is incredible. She listens to her clients and understands what they want done, because of this i’ve never had a bad haircut done by her in the last 5 years. Chatters is a very nice salon as well, the washing and styling is all at one station so you never have to worry about getting up with wet hair to walk back to your chair for styling. I would totally recommend Braelin at chatters for your next hair cut or hair colour ❤️

I would not recommend this place. Unless you like to burn your money. Extremely over priced I don't like the hair cut they gave me. I don't see any reason why should I get my hair cut here when I can get better service at cheaper rates elsewhere.

Just left the salon and I couldn't be happier with my haircut and the service. Everyone was so friendly and the hair stylist (Meghan) was very nice and asked simple questions that meant a lot when it came to the haircut as well as how I want it styled. I have never been asked this and I always hated how people style it because they always made if straight and flat so the fact that she asked me was awesome..everyone is very helpful and I would highly recommend this salon!

Awesome colour and cut, and the staff were all super friendly! I needed someone really good to put bright colours in my hair, and the gal I talked to recommended Carly (hope I spelled that right). She did an AMAZING job on a pretty complicated dye job, and made the time fly by (and I was in the chair for hours because, like I said, complicated do). I have received many compliments on my hair, and I agree, it looks awesome. Thank you Carly!

This was the worst salon ever been to in my life they butchered my hair refuse to trim my beard and never even washed or blew off the hair off my back or shirt. If you were a guy do not go here you are greatly regret it these people are very unprofessional and do not know how to cut men’s hair since they can’t even trim a beard

Got my balayage done by Tara at this location, and the service was exemplary! I walked in with an idea of the hair colour I wanted, but I preferred trusting the stylist and what she felt was best for my hair. I appreciate her honesty upfront and caring most about the health of my hair over anything else. She's also a great person overall! Would love to come back if I ever need to fix up or change anything with the hair.

Jesse at the Mayfair Victoria location gave me my new look tonight and I love it! She wasn't afraid to cut off my long hair, and give me exactly what I was looking for, as well as some great advice to suit my hair type. I got great advice on new products to suit my new style and I got to laugh and relax after a stressful day. The scalp massage during the shampoo was my favorite part!

I was booked for 4:15 today and I get late by 5 minutes. The lady over the desk called me and confirmed my appointment and within 2 minutes I entered the saloon but that guy said you are late. They don’t know how to deal with the customer. Very poor quality to handle the customer. I would never recommend anyone to go like this saloon who does not respect the customer who is coming from a long distance.

They chemically burned my sister's ear (permanent damage) when she got her hair bleached and dyed a couple of years ago, they almost refused to even refund the money. Customer service after the fact was like pulling teeth. To be fair this review is coming late (everyone thinking if going here deserves fair warning though), perhaps things have changed since.

If you're looking for a real salon, walk past Chatters and keep going. If you're desperate for a haircut just keep walking until you find a First Choice because this place is trash. You could also try Pets Smart instead if you're looking for a quick trim. Terrible workers 10/10 would not recommend

I went here a few months ago to have my hair styled for my engagement photoshoot. I was running 15 minutes late, and called in half an hour before my appointment to let them know. A woman on the phone told me it was okay and to take my time. Looking for parking at square one on a Saturday afternoon is mayhem - as I was looking for parking I received a call from the salon asking where I was. I was running 20 minutes late at that point. I told them I was just looking for parking and will be there ASAP, and again apologized. Once I arrived to the salon, a woman who worked there just rolled her eyes at me, and annoyingly told me the stylist was waiting. I apologized for the third time, and she did not say anything, just rolled her eyes and pointed to where I could sit. She didn't point out where I could hang my coat. I ended up sitting and waiting there for 10 minutes. The stylist came out, and she had a high sense of self-entitlement. When I showed her a photo of what I wanted my hair to look like, she did not try to understand and rolled her eyes at me - I just wanted my hair to have tight curls. She said she would just try and would ask me what I think as she goes along. After she began curling my hair she understood that what I wanted was more defined curls... As she continued to style my hair she had a disgusting look on her face and said, "your hair sheds a lot"...and just continued to style my hair with a annoyed and disgusted look... Was the price good? Yes. Was the hair styled well? It was okay. But how I was treated, not just by one person but by 2 people there - who knew it was my first time there, made it all horrible. Especially when I am there to prep for my engagement photoshoot, and I apologized for running late (3 times), and it was my first time there. There is a certain level of courtesy a service provider should provide to their clients. The people I interacted with there really need a lesson on providing polite customer service. Perhaps the lower price equates to poorer customer service. I learned I would rather pay more money to be treated with respect, because how you are treated, not just the service provided, greatly impacts your experience - again, something the people I interacted with did not understand.
