This is a definitely a salon where you should make your hair, i have made my hair here once before i moved out of Halifax and i must commend that my hair was very well made for my graduation and Pearl is so friendly and ensures she makes you as comfortable as possible while she makes your hair. Anyone in Halifax who wants to get their hair done should visit this salon. you can also get your hair extensions from this salon at an affordable rate. five stars all the way!!!

The outcome of the hair I got was overall great, Kit is the person who did my hair; she's amazing and I highly recommend her if you decide to do your hair here. However, they didn't use the colour I requested, despite having shown a picture of it to them days in advance. When the extensions started running out, I had to wait for almost an hour for them to get more packs, despite the length of hair I wanted also being visible in the picture I sent. The owner was nice enough to give me a discount since I'm a student but overall, it was just a bit unprofessional:// make sure to be very specific of what you want to do, sending pictures of your hair in its natural state (if you're natural) so they have an estimate of how long it may take, which is required in order to secure an appointment (they didn't specify this prior) and note that the price isn't all inclusive so you may end up paying more than you thought (even though the website says taxes are included)

I love my hair. My friend does her hair here and recommended it and im so happy I came. Pearl gave me lots of options and the benefit of doing each hair, I chose the beaded one and im glad I did. This track thing is not heavy and i can actually wash my hair. Im going to color my hair and I will post some pictures of the final result.

Elalani hair salon is the best in Halifax. My first experience with it, I had Pearl do a sew-in weave for me last year and her work was incredible. It was worth the pay. She has such a nice personality, really easy to talk to, makes a good conversation.

VERY unprofessional service (see below - I'm have no siblings). Small salon space - closet size really. Unpleasant smell in the salon. (Updated to a one star after the owner called to ask about my experience and begged me to change my rating... over a month later) Owner obviously has personal and professional issues they should deal with instead of being nasty to clients... Only stank in the closet of a salon. But hey, just my opinion. Every person and client is entitled to theirs.

PLEASE READ**** I am very upset to see the rating that Pearl has for her salon. I work in the building and I am a retired hairstylist. I have seen such amazing work come from her salon. I want people reading these reviews to be aware that there was a lady that came to her salon to get her hair done and before Pearl was finished, she went to the bathroom and then ran out of the building without paying. I saw firsthand how devastated she was that this woman had just stolen God knows how much money worth of hair and her time. She Did not deserve this. She works very hard. This woman has made multiple accounts just to rate her business 1 star. I am writing this review because I know Pearl and I’ve seen her work and what this woman did was absolutely malicious and horrible and something needs to be said about it. In our industry, our time is our money. We rely on our appointments to pay for food, shelter, take care of our children, medical bills, EVERYTHING. We do not get paid wages and we pay for product like hair out of our pockets. This was 100% theft and slander. This person knows who they are and they should be absolutely ashamed of them selves. I honestly feel bad for this person. I feel bad that their life is so horrible that they need to take out their anger against the world on people who don’t deserve it to make them selves feel better. I digress.

Run for the hills! This woman is NOT a professional hair stylist at all. She is pathological liar who will waste your time over charge you and ruin your hair. She is not a hair dresser at all. Her website is full of lies and her Instagram is full of lies as well. She mainly post pictures of other people’s work making it seem like her work. Will not recommend Pearl from Ella lani on Agricola to my worst enemy. BTW the one star rating is by default.

If there was an option for a negative star I would have put one.FRAUD ALERT. Run away. Dont waste your money this woman does not know how to do hair period. She talks about having studies in Australia to do hair but I doubt she has any credentials to that effect and if she did she definitely was at the very bottom of her class. I went to her salon on Agricola st for a luxury hair day. I wanted a luscious lacefront wig which her website had indicated do sale and install. Her website makes the salon seem like a luxurious expensive salon but far far from in, its a tinny tiny one room dirty smelly messy small space. Nothing like what her website says. Anyhow back to the story she didn't have any lace front wigs at the time she said she had just ran out but had sew in weaves with lace-front closures. She told me she was able to install it all for me as she had studied in Melbourne Australia how to do it. Though she wouldn't say which college she actually studied at. She said it would take her about 3hrours to sew in the weave but it really took her 8 and half hours. She didnt seem to know what she was doing, but she seemed nice so I thought let me give her a chance. The glue she put on the lace front was just all over the weave and was so white and just a mess. Then she said she would come to my house that night around 10pm to fix it for me. She came but was really unable to fix it, she said the glue she had used must have been old for the lace front issue and she brought new glue which didnt do much in making the hair look nice. As for the big bumps on my head and gaps and i mean shocking gaps she claimed it was a different technique she had used bla bla .A whole lot of con man style word salad really. The next morning I told her i couldn't travel looking a mess like this and she told me to come back to her Salon and she would fix it. Well I did and again she could not just fix it she had to redoo everything. She had trouble removing the glue, had trouble just removing the lace front because of the weird way she had put it. When she finally got it all out, to put it all back she told me don't worry its going to be done by 2 pm but that's not what happened. I was there from 1045am to 3pm. she spend over 4 hours and by 3pm she still was no where near finished and the parts she claim to have finished were just a pile of mess. The only thing she claimed was left to do was to cut the lace in front. But despite that my hair was way worse than when i came in for the correction. She had charged me $694 for all this the previous day, but today when she had to fix her own mistakes she then say oh btw you still owe me 178 dollars more as I had forgotten to charge you for something else yesterday, with my hair still looking a mess btw. I told her are you kidding me really. I was ready to just cut my loses and move on and just go get my hair redone somewhere else, chuck that experience as a very expensive learning lesson for me to do more research next time. Then she claims i still owe her more money. I was shocked and could not believe it. When I told her thats unacceptable she started threatening to take me to the authorities if i didn't pay her the 178 or so in 12 hours. This Pearl woman who owns this hair salon pretends to be a Christian but she is far from it. She is a BULLY , a LIAR, a CON WOMAN , just a horrible person who uses false advertising. She walks around saying she was a model and a christian and talk in this baby pretend sweet voice . She may go to church but she is NOT a christian. She is the type of person that take advantage of the kind nature of true Christians.SHE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO DO WEAVE PERIOD.. Stay away from her. If you need your hair done do your research first go somewhere else. There is no luxury or professionalism or even a hair specialist at Ela Lani Hair and Beauty who does weaves. PEARL does not know how to do that. Save your money time and heartaches.

**i highly recommend her hair salon** Just WOW!! I´ve never experienced such a gental and calm hair stylist. Especially in the African Hair buissnes is a relaxed and tender treatment with hair on of the mpst important characteristics a Stylist should have. Pearl is a gift which you never want to miss. She was patient, professional and gental with my hair and brought it back to life after years of Sew-In. I am incredibly grateful for her tips on how to deal with an Afro properly, so that I can independently maintain my hair all by myslef (but if i can and the money is right i would definitelly go back to her!!!). If i could i would just have her with me all the time :) Her Salon isnt as huge as other hair salons, but lovingly and fancy furnished. It is very clean and you just feel welcome and good. THX to the beautiful Ladie xx
