I had one of Julia’s hairstylists, Sara, do my friend and I’s hair for our grad pictures - and she did amazing! Sara arrived promptly on time, and was extremely friendly. She was so accommodating, and followed all the new regulations in regards to current public health measures and social distancing. Julia was very flexible in scheduling, and was willing to work around my ever-changing schedule. Our hair was stunning, and it stayed in the whole day, always looking amazing! I would highly recommend Julia and her team for any styling needs!

Stephanie listened to me as regards what I was looking for with my makeup and hairstyling. She did a beautiful job on my special day. I would certainly recommend her. My makeup was tastefully done she went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my final look. Julia was prompt in terms of responding to emails and any questions or concerns I had. The BEST! Go with Julia and her amazing team! I contacted Julia with not much notice before our wedding for hair/makeup/spray tans for myself and my bridesmaids. She was super responsive and it was so easy that we connected mostly through email. Candice did our spray tans - flawless. She also was super accommodating the day before when my schedule changed. Jennie did our hair and again 10/10. My hair and hairpiece didn’t budge all night! Jax did our makeup and it was PERFECT! Exactly what each of us had envisioned. Everyone was so happy with these ladies!

Julia did my makeup/hair for my wedding on Dec 21 2019 at Fairmont in Banff. I was pretty disorganized and didn't get a chance to do a trial with her but sent her some photos of makeup I liked. She did a phenomenal job!! I almost never wear makeup and was afraid of having either too much makeup done, or makeup that was not my skin tone but she really knows her stuff. Her hairstylist and her were ready to go 15 minutes early and she was very receptive to little changes I wanted made as she did the makeup. Would highly recommend!

My stylist Sara started my hair at 6 a.m. to get me ready for a hiking elopement, and she did an amazing job. They were beyond accommodating with scheduling, listened and shared ideas for hair and makeup, and worked magic to make me feel confident and beautiful. I have nothing but amazing things to say about 'Julia Joy Makeup Artistry'. Julia came highly recommended by multiple people in Canmore, personal feedback has always been important to me and I knew once I heard about her, this was the lady who would do my makeup for my special day. Julia is very professional, and was always quick to respond to my inquires leading up to the wedding day. Based on her professional photos I opted not to do a trial run with her (I just knew I would be very happy). Her pricing was spot on for a makeup artist with her experience and reputation! On the day of the wedding, Julia was right on time and we got straight to the makeup session for my bridal party and I. As I got to talking with Julia she made me feel very comfortable and actually lessened my stress of the day. Her demeanour made it seem like I had known her forever! I appreciated that the makeup line was explained to me, it gave me confidence in the product knowing it would last throughout the day (and it did!!) I hardly ever wear makeup, so I wanted it to be noticable and visible in photos and Julia was very receptive to making sure I was completely thrilled before she left. She also did such an amazing job with my party as well. Julia, you made my step daughter feel like a princess ~ thank you for everything you did on my day!

"It's a lot of work planning for a wedding and every bride would know that. Planning everything to the tee is the ultimate goal. Finding the perfect make up artist for the wedding was very important to me, mainly because I'm not much of a make up person and so I wanted someone to be able to help me look exactly how I want without overdoing it or under doing it. Julia's team made everything perfect for all of us. We were all very pleased with how the team made us look glamorous and elegant on the special day. They listened to what we wanted and made it happen. They were all like fairy godmothers in our room making magic happen and clearing the environment from any form of stress. Julia and her team were very professional throughout the process of planning and executing the getting ready part of the wedding. Though like every event, not everything goes exactly as planned. My veil was TOO LONG and we were short one make up artist. But they even went out of their way and made my veil exactly how I wanted it to look (cut the veil in half and even sowed it to make it perfect!). They may have been short one make up artist, Julia and the team were very reassuring on how that will not affect the schedule in any way... and they were right. They all came and got us all ready and glammed in time to meet our schedule. I am very pleased that Julia and her team were part of our special day. Wouldn't have done it any differently. I was a bit nervous because I’m not local to Banff, but that was all for nothing. I had my makeup done for my engagement shoot and it was amazing! Due to my poor planning, I didn’t have any reference images so I let my artist have creative freedom. She asked the right questions and nailed the look. Communication was very quick, often with responses in less than 1 hour. Highly recommend!

I booked with Julia and her team for our 2020 wedding. We had multiple date changes and she was incredible to work with as we navigated that process. We were finally able to have our trial and wedding day in 2021 and our experience with her and her team was exceptional! We booked hair and makeup services for myself, my bridal party and my mother and mother in law. My mom and I did our trial with Jax and Sara and they nailed it! We were so excited going into the wedding day. Jax and Sara came out to Emerald Lake Lodge and everything was amazing! We could not stop checking ourselves out in the mirrors and they were so much fun to have around while we were all mingling and getting ready. I love that they will come to you and 100% recommend them for any wedding or celebration.

Julia & her subcontracted hair stylist were complete professionals on my wedding day this week! Quick responses throughout the weeks leading up to the day made the coordinating of everything completely stress free, prices were reasonable and better than several, and she even gave a PDF of any FAQs I could possibly think of prior to making my decision to choose them for the company I went with. The communication was so seamless and above any other company I inquired with (about 6 or 7 in the area). On the day of they showed up exactly on time, generously allocated enough time for each person needing to be worked on, and finished exactly when they estimated they would be done - all with making the whole experience friendly and personable. AND the makeup & hair was AWESOME of course! Can't say enough great things about them and how easy they made the day start off for us - highly recommend and would use them again in a heartbeat for any events you want to look your best at!

I had heard horror stories from friends about makeup artist for weddings and how most of the time they felt like they needed to fix up the makeup they paid for. So getting a makeup artist myself I was very sceptical. Words can’t express how shocked I was when I received the absolute best service and artist! The artist (Jessica) was such a sweet heart everyone who got their makeup done loved what they received and felt so beautiful. When it was my turn as a stressed bride I started to worry for time. Jessica was so caring and kind she calmed me down and wow she killed the makeup game. I instantly teared up when she showed me her work. I have never felt so beautiful in my life! While packing up she even helped calm me down and help me into my dress when I had some difficulty. I would highly recommend this company and I think the makeup artists Jessica!

1000% recommend!!!! Sarah did my makeup for my wedding and it was absolutely perfect! I don’t typically wear makeup, let alone know how to do it on my own. Everything was amazing and she was so easy to talk to and got my vision perfectly On top of all of this my makeup and my moms makeup lasted all day!! Love Love LOOVE. My husband even loved it!!
