I've been getting my hair cut at Pure Hair Studio since their days in Frederick mall under their old name. The staff are all great and incredibly friendly and the place has an overall awesome and comfortable atmosphere. The cuts are always great and consistent between visits, even when I've had to use a variety of different stylists if my regular one is off or on vacation.

I have had my hair done here twice before and felt confidant enough to go back the 3rd time, unfortunately this wasn't a case of 3rd time is a charm, I left the hair studio with my bangs not properly cut and came to find out that a piece of my long hair in the back wasn't cut as well. I also got my hair dyed there and well the routes are light and the rest of my hair is the same color I came in with. Than I go to pay and my hairdresser tries to pull a fast one on me but luckily my daughter made it aware that she was watching my change being counted!!! This is far from a friendly environment , very judgmental, rude and a wanna be thief!!!! I will not be going back and I will be sure to spread the word!

The man who treated me was very nice and courteous. However it was very pricey I think I paid over $200 for a trim and some highlights. (I was there maybe an hour tops). I did purchase some salon brand products (shampoo/conditioner) which could have contributed to the overwhelming price (most ive ever spent anywhere); but the products didnt work with my hair so i never got to use them anyways. Definitely one of the more expensive places I've been; I was satisfied with the results and it was close to where I live but far too costly for me to consider returning.

Years ago I had major issues with my hair due to copper levels in the water supply at my residence. The damage was noticeable and literally turning my naturally blond hair green! I went from salon to salon trying to find someone I could trust with my hair. The owner Glennys took on the challenge and brought my hair back to life and I can't thank her enough! With each appointment she took the time to discuss my hair at length, offer tips on home care and products. Along with fixing my damaged hair, the staff is an absolute joy! Each stylist greets you with a huge smile. They make you feel at home and go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience! They are professionals AND so much fun to be around. It's been several years since my first appointment and after moving 4 hours north to be with family i still book all my hair appointments at Pure every time i'm in town. I like this salon but it is very expensive. I have short hair and a trim ( takes about 30 minutes inc. shampoo ) cost 67$. There was a man getting his haircut at the same time and when we paid, his only cost 30$. A bit of female discrimination?? Pink tax?? I cant see myself going back.

A great experience from the second you walk through the door to when you leave. It's easy to see this is a solid business. They offer to take your jacket, provide shoes for winter, offer beverages, the works. The place is very well set up, up to date and nicely decorated. The staff work together and were very welcoming. They nailed my hair colour exactly to the extensions. I love it!!! Not only was the colouring spot on, the blending of my real hair and the extensions is perfect! Everyone comments on how they love my hair and how healthy my hair looks. With the expertise from Pure Hair Studio, I know how to maintain and manage my hair and it is so easy!!! After 10 weeks, my extensions are ready to be moved up because of my hair growth, otherwise they are still very much intact ! I highly recommend Pure Hair Studio. They are very knowledgeable, friendly and a lot of fun!!! It is because of Pure Hair Studio, I love my hair!

Haircut ok ~. But pricing is Deceptive and Dishonest! Their website's pricing page says it's $31 for a woman's cut. I ended up paying about $60! My cut did not require any super special styling, as my hair was already rather short, almost a boy cut. All I wanted was a boy type cut - shaved short on back and sides and a bit longer on top and front, I showed Meghan, the stylist a picture of what I wanted at the start. She seemed nice and chatty to begin with. But after I asked her for some advice about styling gels, she turned on the upselling machine. Full throttle. And wouldn't stop! When I ask a hairstylist for advice, what I want is their expertise, NOT a PRESSURE SALES pitch! So I got an earful, AND the cut I ended up with DID NOT look very nice or like the picture. Recut elsewhere, soon after. When at check out, afterwards, I asked how much was due ($30 + tax - I looked up the price ahead of booking, as I always do), and was told it came to about $55! And with the tip (a first for me, paying or being asked to, a tip at a hairdresser's) it ended up being about $60! I was shocked, I was not expecting this! But I had no choice, as I was already at the checkout, and so payed the $24 extra (not including tip). The reasons given for the discrepancy were interesting: The $31 is only a BASE PRICE - so... A. I had had EXTRA STYLING done! (No Way! As stated above, my hair did not need that much work as it was short already and most of the work was done with a shaver machine, anyway) And B. (what they call) a "Senior Stylist" did my cut (who worked there longer, so experienced+ hs education)! So that (too!) costs extra. I am a person of limited means, and I chose to book with them was because of the low price ($31!) on their website service/price list. (If the full price was on there, I would not have booked, as that's too expansive for me!) When I called to book, I said it's my first time at Pure, and was not told anything about pricing (base price, extra costs) nor about "senior stylists" and regular stylists and that SS's come at an extra cost!. But I was booked with one, off hand, and without my consent (knowing all the facts = informed consent). I was never informed of the option, or given the choice to go with a non-senior (but cheeper priced) stylist if I wanted to. That never even came up. I was booked with Meaghan, period. When I came in, once again, no one bothered to explain anything (I'm a new customer, 1st time at the business ). They did remember to ask for my personal details (full name, phone #, email, DOB, etc..) though! Then, at check out when I had no choice but to pay, as the cut was already done, the full price was sprung up on me! I feel that I was Deceived and Taken Advantage Of. I think they are Deceptive and Dishonest and use the fact that someone is a brand new customer who is unaware of their practices, to book them with a more expansive ("senior") stylist instead of giving them the option to chose one they can afford. They lure people in with a low, affordable price and then charge them the full price at checkout! And there is a big difference between $31 and $55! I would not have minded if it was $5 extra! That's just fine with me! But $24, is a huge difference! Especially, as a new customer, who was kept in the dark until check out. This practice has a name: It's called DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING! And that's exactly what they are doing. They should be upfront and honest about their prices. - all of this information should be clearly stated on their website!. It is not there. The site says nothing about the base price + extras pricing system they use, or about senior stylists and regular stylists and the service price difference b/w them. And new customers must be told when booking an appointment, (or when they come in to get their cut done) how their pricing works. So they know what to expect! For someone with limited means, $55 to $60 for a (simple) haircut is quite a lot of money. They made that choice for me. It wasn't their choice to make!. Because I am the one PAYING. I will not be returning.

Omg! Finally, a place I can call “my salon” ????. Moved here to Kitchener about 4 years ago now. My first 2 years I’ve been going back to TO to get my hair done since I have my salon there, As well as my son, but then I got tired of driving just to get my hair done. BURNT HAIR!!! No Accountability!! DO NOT TRUST THIS SALON WITH YOUR HAIR!! if I could do no stars trust me I would! Pure Hair Studio burnt off 10 inches of my long healthy hair!!! In what should have been a routine hair dye salon visit, this salon single handily burnt off most of my hair and left me with aprox 5 inches fried mess for the next 3 years or longer while I try to grow it back! I attended this salon in early June to have blonde balayage added to my long brown hair, the brown hair that they had given me 2 months prior. I had been platinum blonde most of my life and decided to make a change. In any event after having the brown hair for 2 months I decided to add some blonde back in. The stylist agreed no issues and began the process of applying foils. After just a short period of time I felt my head was getting to hot and advised the stylist who told me not to worry. The heat continued to intensify at which point I told the stylist to remove the foils. With my direction, she did, and well my hair went up in literal SMOKE!! BYE-BYE long beautiful hair. I was in complete shock, in tears, and would you believe the salon tried to blame me for the disaster THEY caused….Implying I must have health issues or be pregnant.. Basically pulling at strings to place blame on ME.!! Well I’d suggest that if these were valid concerns they better ask these questions prior to applying dye and destroying peoples hair and damaging there self image. I’m completely embarrassed and attending this salon to have them attempt to fix my hair is beyond awkward as you can imagine. The salon sent me home with promises of hair treatments, hair extensions, and products to take home… Extensions were given to me and they lasted all of 6 weeks before they one by one started falling out!!! I called the salon near the end of the 6 weeks to have my hair dyed again to match the extensions and to have the extensions put back in. My hair is fading dramatically fast as it is so damaged it cannot hold colour. The salon basically shut me down and has essentially refused to continue to assist me with services. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?? I attended another salon to get some help and wouldn’t you know, not a soul will touch my hair… I don’t blame them.. the damage is beyond bad.. All in all it will take me 3 or more years to correct the damaged they caused and in the meantime I’m left with embarrassing fired truly ugly hair. Pure Hair Studio has taken little to no responsibility for the shoddy work they did!! DO NOT TRUST THIS SALON WITH YOUR HAIR!! RE: the response below... They called multiple times leaving voicemail after voicemail telling me they needed to talk about my appointment as they needed to manage my expectations for services.. so yes I was a no show to the salon that day... I go to Pure Hair often, and always come away very happy. Although I usually go to Natasha, Lea or Hilary, I think that all the girls are excellent. The atmosphere is extremely upbeat, friendly and pleasant.....the customer is made to feel as if she/he always comes first. Each girl has her own area of specialty, and, as a customer, you should ask for who has expertise in the specific style or treatment you want. This is one of the very few hair salons in K-W who actually listens to the customer and does as she/he wants. I recommend it highly

I went to this salon couple of months ago and was not happy with the colour that I ended up with. I have gone to many professional salons but I must ssy that this one charged the most for the colour that was poorly done by Meagan and nothing like a picture I showed her. I was trying to get in to correct it and have called numerous times and I did not end up geting it fixed as they have said so much time has passed and they would have to charge me again now to do it. I should not have to do this in the first place. If you are a professional salon and hairstylist you should be able to get the right color. This is what you went to school for and this is why people come to you since they cannot get the color they want at home. I must say I ended up being blamed because I cancelled one appointment to fix my hair as my son was sick. Really unfair and condescending and hurtful to their customers. I don't understand all the good reviews about being friendly offering drinks and things like that as I had to ask for my drink. I guess they choose who they will be nice to. I see that someone else experienced Meaghan's poor expertise. I was really hurt by this. I ended up paying for something I did not ask for really paid well and was walking with this hair for a few months. Shame on you, really. This is not what a professional salon does. You are far from professionals!

Today I had a hair cut at Pure Hair Studio ( 645 Westmount Rd E, Kitchener) .... This is the most awful cut I've ever had in my life. Totally different from the picture that I showed to stylist Meagan Martin. She is not professional stylist . I'll never come again to the Pure Hair Studio.

Well today was my 2nd appointment With Pauline, she was amazing, she understood my type of hair, she new what type of style Would look like on me and she was right. Love my colour and style so much. Had my hair cut by Paulina, she did an excellent job and my hair feels great! I don't get my haircut often, and the stylists I have been to in the past have mangled my hair after knowing nothing of how to cut curly hair. Paulina herself has curly hair and knew exactly what I was talking about when explaining how I needed it cut. Will be returning to her again in the future!

Came here as part of a bridal party for my friend's wedding. Had a wonderful stylist who was knowledgeable about my hair! My updo did not fall apart or come undone during the whole 14 hours after. My fine hair has never been cooperative but this salon had it beat!

Went for a trim, showed the stylist a photo of what I wanted done. Stylist didn't disagree or made no comments that it would be a problem. Extremely disappointed with the result, it was nothing close to the photo that i showed her. My hair turned out to be uneven and shorter than I expected. She even told me that she did some technique with my hair that she never forewarned me about or even asked if that was okay. Not happy with the result or the price. Not returning back, looking elsewhere.

Pure hair studio is clean, well managed and has a great atmosphere. Its convenient too!. I would highly recommend Pure hair studio to any of my friends and family.
