Great and tidy salon. It was my first time to receive anykind of hair treatment so i had been very afraid of losing my hair, or ending up getting a color i hate. Fortunately, Raaga did it beautifully and gave me a very subtle balayage- just what I had wanted. My friends, family and above all my husband loved it. My hair is now softer than ever. I am loving running fingers through my hair! I had contacted several salons in the town , xcentric and Teknik to name a few but Oro salon was the quickest to respond. They reply you even after the closing times. Cristine explained me the entire process and she heard my concerns with peace! Had it been someone less professional i would have freaked out alot! Oro salon... what to say? I’ve been going to one hair stylist for years and the same salon. I am person that once I find someone I “trust” I cannot go see anyone else. I don’t like change and have a “fear”. I just got my hair done by the most talented man... that man is FARAZ. Words can’t even describe how happy I am with my hair and he made me feel comfortable, I enjoyed my self and the staff and the owner are super nice and know what they’re doing and talking about. After 10+ years of going to the same salon and same stylist, I have now found a new home to call for my hair. Oro salon, u must go and see any of the talented stylist. Highly recommend.

I really recommend anyone just looking to get their hair styled or blowdried avoid this place all together. I went to get a simple blow out and my hair curled for my grad photos (I was pretty confident that a hair stylist would know how to do this?) and it came out absolutely horrible. I wasted my money when I could've done a better job myself, and I now have to get retakes for my photos as my hair is staticky, volume-less, half curly, and half straight. I really don't know how you can screw up a style, and I usually don't leave bad review but I don't want another student like me to waste their money. If this salon is your only option, do your hair yourself. I promise it'll come out better. Only good thing I can say is that it was clean and stylists wore masks.

I made an appointment for the day of my graduation. I was about to cancel (because I didn't realize I made the appointment an hour before my graduation) and they were extremely understandable and accommodated me for that same day earlier in the morning to make it on time. My hairstylist managed to finish an hour before my ceremony started and on top of that surpassed my expectations. I surprised my hubby and family with my new look and they loved it too!! My balayage still looks amazing, especially when I style my hair. I totally recommend this salon. They will totally transform you and will make you WOW! :)

Really convenient, high quality, and great service. I've come here for my last three haircuts with Faraz and will definitely continue going. I've gone to quite a few barber shops in waterloo but it's tough to find one that competes with Oro. Every time I'm able to book a day or 2 before, which was SUPER convenient. Highly recommend going to see Faraz. He's cut my hair the last three times and is very talented barber and a genuinely nice guy. My first haircut I gave him a poor description of what I wanted and he gave me an awesome style better than what I wanted. Now every time I go he delivers a haircut that is somehow better than the one before - awesome!!

Yesterday I visited Oro Salon and had a long and complex hair issue to take care of. I was seen and handled by Ragaa. Ragaa is amazing, she really has true hands of gold when it comes to hair styling. I left the salon feeling more beautiful and extremely happy. My hair colour was perfect, my cut was perfect and the state of my hair was much improved (dryness is gone). I am still smiling today from happiness. I MADE AN APPOITTNMENT FOR MY HAIRS TO BE DONE AND NOW YOU ARE SAYING YOU DONT HAVE ANYONE AVAILABLE????? WHAT IT MEANS???? I didn't say anything and pay her "$40" which I FEELS IS A WASTAGE NOW. THEY HAVE NO SENSE THAT SHE EVEN DIDNT TAKE CARE OF ME AS WELL AS DISRESPECT TO ME. This is just because of I say no to paying $430 + tax for hair coloring which was completely opposite what they told me over the phone. In Future, I will say A BIG NO TO THIS SALON.

Way too overpriced also Faraz made me feel uncomfortable with his comments, he seemed way too confident for someone who doesn’t listen to what his clients want and also made comments regarding the view and by view I mean all the university girls walking by “why do you think I work here” being the only female left in the salon at the time while he said this to two other males that were waiting for their haircut as he was finishing my hair. It made me feel very uncomfortable. I was also bothered by the fact that he is an older man talking about young girls in university.

Booked my first appointment last week (5 days ago) using their online portal. Instead of contacting me immediately to indicate there was a problem with their system, and the time was not available, they waited until the day before to call me and say I did not in fact have an appointment (even though their online system sent a confirmation email). I found this highly unprofessional. The stylist didn't even leave a voice mail earlier in the day so it was not until 7 pm that I was notified when the appointment was the next day. Have not been to Oro and now definitely have no intention of booking there again.

I previously wrote a negative review because I was dissapointed about the hours not matching the website. After the experience, I had to update my review. Today I did get in to to get my haircut and the whole experie ce was FANTASTIC. Christina cut my hair. She was very excited about what I wanted. She has been the first stylist in a long time who has actually listened to what I wanted and then made it happen. The cut I got was exactly what I was imagining and even better. All the staff were busy but they still had a good time and made everyone feel welcome. Great atmosphere all round. I will definately be back.

I was in the other day and the place was hopping. Every staff member was helping someone either on the phone or in the salon yet I was greeted with a smile and had my coat taken and hung for me. Hair wash was above and beyond with a massage at the end. Cristina (master stylist) saw me immediately upon being seated and did a fabulous job (as usual). Throughout my visit , the staff were constantly busy but always working together and with a great vibe. Everyone that walked in, either for appointments or as walk-in, were greeted immediately and made to feel welcome. Not your run-of-the-mill factory-style salon. A great team of talented and friendly people in a clean and upbeat setting. Highly recommend for any of your needs.

It was really hard for me to trust another stylist, but I went in and felt very comfortable with Faraz and felt he would try everything to get my hair the way I desired. Literally can't say a negative thing about this salon!! Skeptical? look at their instagram and see the hair you walk outta there with and you will crazy not to go see what these girls can do!! I grew up with a hair stylist and never trusted *anyone* to do my hair out of fear I'd be a hot mess but I took the plunge with Cristina and have literally never looked back. I've thrown her some curveballs with random and difficult styles (thanks Pinterest!) and I always leave with exactly what I wanted!! Not a great experience at oro salon. Firstly, I was told it would take 3-3.5 hours to do my hair, it ended up taking 6 hours as there is not enough staff, and too many clients. My stylist was running back and forth between me and another lady who was also getting a hair colour service. I had shown my stylist a picture of the colour I wanted him to achieve, he ended up dying my hair way too light and refused to let me look in the mirror until the very last second he was done drying and styling my hair, even though I insisted I wanted to look so I could make sure it was the colour I wanted. As my stylist was washing out my colour he was making remarks about how good the hair looked and how his past work isnt always the best, and the owner - Cristina was trying to quietly tell him he's speaking too soon and he needs to stop saying such things. I felt extremely uncomfortable. Not to mention how rough he was washing my hair. Extremely painful... I would not recommend this hair to anyone. Although he did end up fixing the hair colour I still feel he could have done a much better job.

I went to Voila salon my most recent time and my hair got messed up. I came back to Cristina to fix my hair and I’m confident in the final result. Definitely recommend going to Cristina for all your hair needs! :)

I went in a few months ago and asked for balayage. I was given high lights (which did look nice but not what I asked for or wanted). I was then over charged like crazy ($450! On my already dirty blonde hair that was just past my shoulders!). I then called back a while later to ask if there was anything they could do to fix my hair and was told I’d have to pay almost $300 to fix it. Very disappointing.

Friendly staff but horrible experience overall. Somehow the staff changed my appointment time when someone called to change theirs resulting in me waiting over an hour to be helped. I did not get my desired look and I asked for a specific hairdresser and did not get her. The lady I did get was working on myself and 3 others making my service feel rushed and not done right with no attention. Will not be going back.

My husband and I went to Oro Salon last night and we can’t say enough good things about it! Faraz has been doing my hair for a little while and he is so professional and personable. I am so happy with the work Faraz and Cristina did on my hair! Cristina is so welcoming and definitely knows her stuff! My husband loved Faraz’s work so much that he wanted to get his hair done as well! Faraz paid such close attention to detail to make sure my hair colour was perfect; I didn’t feel like there was any rush! Will definitely be returning to Faraz for all my hair services from now on! $400+ for a damaged, stripey mess. I got a partial balayage, with Carleigh, trying to get ash brown. My ends weren’t lifting at the back, so she put more bleach on the back and kept it on for over 2 hours including the time it took to balayage. The top layer of the back of my hair broke over halfway up the strands where she had layered the bleach. The ends were also way darker than the roots and overall it was a huge stripey mess. I sent her pictures and she did try to fix it by trimming the damaged sections, putting a hair mask on and toning it darker, but it still looks terrible. I understand it was a partial balayage, but she completely missed the section at the bottom of my part, leaving a dark stripe on the back of my head. Some sections of the “fixed” colour look alright but there are still so many orange spots which didn’t get as much toner I guess, so in addition to another haircut, I will also have to pay to get the colour fixed. Lastly, at both of my appointments, she went outside for a smoke break halfway through which I think is unprofessional. Overall, I regret ever getting my hair done. It’s now irreparably damaged and after years of growing my hair out to a length I’m happy with, I’ll have to spend even more money to cut it and start all over.

After months of trying to find the right stylist I came across Faraz at Oro. I was very nervous going in, but after chatting with Faraz and Christina I decided to go ahead with balayage. I have very thick hair and always struggle to find someone I trust to properly cut and style my hair, but I have never been so happy leaving the salon. The colour is absolutely beautiful and can’t recommend him enough! He told me to trust him and I’m so happy I did!

Over priced, rude and bad service This place seems more targeted for older to middle age generation. Christina was so rude and rough with my hair, pulling, tugging, pinching and leaving dyed hair in front of my eyes and face. I showed them a photo of what I wantes (ombré) and I came out like 2001 Lindsay Lohan skunk striped highlights. It looks like trash. Christina seems pretentious and bossy to me and her own employees. Extremely overpriced. The assistant front desk lady took 4 seconds and a pair of scissors and chopped off 4 inches and charged me $55. The dollop of hair proctectant costs another $30 which you might as well go to shoppers and use a hair mask a few times. Just a bad experience overall, would not suggest for student friendly prices.

Went to oro salon for the first time last night and had my hair done by Faraz. Honestly could not have asked for a better experience. Not only was the outcome of my hair amazing, he himself is so great! I enjoyed my whole time there and he made me feel super comfortable and relaxed. He was also super accommodating with my work schedule which is hard to find with someone wanting to stay late to do my hair, so thank you again for this! I highly recommend Oro salon and especially Faraz! Thanks again for such a great experience! I'll definitely be booking in again soon!
