Jennifer did an amazing job bringing my hair back to life! I came in with a ton of damage and breakage- just overall very dry hair. She took her time and gave me a treatment and quality cut that brings out my natural wave. This is now my hair after air drying- no blow dryer or tool. Will definitely be back!

I was a first time visitor and before booking at the salon I had clearly communicated what I had been getting done at an out of town salon. I was in the salon for several hours and had to flag the manager as I felt I was left alone to process for too long. My hair was severely damaged from over processing and the technique itself was awful. The manager said my hair looked great and didn't acknowledge the damage or terrible colour job. I was also charged much more than I was told on the phone when booking. The damage to my hair was so bad the colour correction at another salon couldn't be done for several weeks and I had to get hair repair treatments done professionally as the at home solutions were not working.

Been there for waxing, styling and colouring and have had great experiences. The salon is very comfortable even for long treatments and the staff all chatty and friendly. They don't have a dedicated receptionist so it's easiest to book through the site and wait for a call back.

Great curly cut. But the best part is the training on how to wash and condition and dry the hair to keep the curls defined. The Deva Curl products are not cheap, but they last a long time - so although you pay more upfront, over time they do compete in price with the higher-end drug-store products, but they are so much more effective and healthier for your hair and curls!

For years I have searched for a hair salon that will cater to the needs of curly hair. Curly hair needs to be cut differently than straight hair. The stylists at curve who have cut and styled my hair using a Deva cut (Shandra and Claudia) are attentive to the style I am looking for and always do a great job that leaves me feeling good about how I look. I have changed my hair from very long to bangs to short pixie cut, and every style has been excellently done. The salon is always clean, welcoming, and professional. Every aspect of curly hair need is treated - shampoo, styling products, and cut specifically adapted for curly hair clientele. Pricing is on the higher end, but they receive extensive training and knowledge of how to care for curly hair so this is expected and justified. So happy for a local place that specializes in curly haired clientele!

I have very fine curly hair. This was my first haircut and styling here. I’m not at all happy with the service. They don’t know how to style fine curly hair. All she did was flip my hair and scrunch it for like 5 second, literally and then put clips without even asking how I Partition my hair! After they just put me under a air blowing bubble and made me sit there for almost 2 Hours. One of the girls said it was a new machine and did not know how to use it. My hair was flat and was not even dry after 1.5 Hours. I left the salon with wet hair, after all how much time can one spend on a haircut. 4 hours? I was in there for that long!!! Felt like I was around a very inexperienced stylist maybe. I have been to other places in Toronto which are wayyyyyyyy better, they understand and make you understand your hair. I only went here because I was in kitchener at my mothers, but definitely never again. Maybe the uncertainty was of clients not returning is the reason they charge more for the first time for new clients. They said they charge more so they can understand and speak to you about your hair. Nothing of that sort happened! Total waste of $130

So i have wanted purple hair for a long time, i finally decided to do it and my friend recommend curve hair studio. I got from my ears down dyed purple, It was not vibrant at all, i even showed her pictures of what i wanted it to look like, it was done oct 31st. It has completely washed out and it's only december 9th. I paid a substantial amount of money and I would not pay $100 for this.

I had my bridal hair and makeup done at Curve as a first time client and was not disappointed. My hair stylist Claudia was friendly and patient. I asked for some changes to my style after the initial hair trial (changed my mind) and she was able to make my hair look exactly the way I wanted. The curls lasted for 2 days, until I washed my hair! My makeup artist Shareen was amazing. She tried several versions until my makeup was just what I wanted. It stayed on for a full 24 hours and did not budge even after throwing water on my face! I was impressed. It is not the cheapest place to get hair/makeup done, but the quality of products and service are worth it!

Overall, I'm unimpressed with the Devacut I received from Curve. My stylist was Claudia and although she was lovely, she had an appointment booked an hour after my hair appointment and was clearly in a rush for finish my cut. My haircut was super uneven and the layers were not properly blended, consequently making my hair look very sparse (the pic of me in grey is before my appointment and the pic of my in blue is after). For an $80 haircut, it's not worth it. Go elsewhere.

I went to this salon with the hopes of becoming blonde. My hairstylist Kate was shown mulitple pictures of the style i wanted. She reassured me that it could be achieved. Throughout the stay, Kate asked me multiple times if I had coloured my hair, in which I truthfully responded no too. She continued to accuse me of colouring my hair, even after I told her no. In conclusion, the blonde I was hoping for was never achieved, and I left the salon with my hair looking exactly the same as when I arrived. Kate charged me for her service, and told me If I was unhappy she would be willing to fix my hair for an additional fee. I advise everyone to avoid this salon unless they're willing to spend their money on a look that cannot be accomplished.

I had my very first hair appointment a Curve last week. For the moment I walked in I felt welcomed. I was asked if I would like a beverage once they confirmed my appointment. Not only did the hair stylist do a great good cutting my hair, she also taught me how to wash and style my hair with minimal hair products. I can't wait to go back and try out all their other services.

I had been getting my hair cut out of town. Wanted to try something closer to home. It was my first visit. I had booked a deva cut and style as well as waxing. Although the staff are very nice, they did not help change anything. They did not even mention the waxing appointment and just forgot about it. They used minimal product and it showed. My curls were just as lifeless as when I got there. I had mentioned that it felt like there was build-up on my hair. She ignored that. I mentioned that I was out of product and was interested in buying some. No help. No recommendations. I even asked her about buying the diffuser. Nothing. I told her that I wanted big voluminous curls. She showed me how I would do that with the diffuser but didn’t continue drying my hair like I wanted. Very disappointed.

Over my lifetime, I have had some good stylists for curly hair, at least two in Toronto, also in Arizona, UK.. But I live far away from the GTA, so finding something closer to my rural location was wonderful - so I thought. BEWARE - the stylists here do not know how to cut real curly hair. They dry cut it as you come in - and try to match the ends -which only works for straight hair. Curly hair needs washing and drying and then cut curl by curl to get the shape you want - I have had this done a number of times. The other clientele walked out with limp, poorly cut "long hair" with curls on the end, Was sad to watch them. My hair is butchered, no other word for it - a three day course that helps sell shampoo and conditioner but does not teach proper cuts is not enough. If you have black, fine, or coily hair, not just a gentle curl on the end, do NOT use them.

Jennifer was knowledgeable about what my curly hair needed, I even saw an improvement in the colour of my highlights with the purple conditioner she used in my hair. The DevaCurl products were a bit out of my budget, so I'll be sticking to my drug store products. But overall I loved how my hair was transformed, will definitely return for my future haircuts!

I just recently tried the DevaCurl cut and style for the first time at Curve Hair Studio and I was extremely happy with the result! My stylist was Erin and she was very nice and very knowledgeable about curly hair. The DevaCurl cut is actually done dry because curls act so differently when they are dry versus wet (and it does wonders for shaping the hair!) She also spent plenty of extra time walking me through the steps and explaining the products so that I would be able to duplicate it at home! My curls looked fantastic by the end of the appointment! I also purchased some of the DevaCurl products to use at home and have not bee disappointed - they are a little pricey but are worth it in my opinion! Will definitely be going back.

I'm really sorry, I've given this place three chances and every time I've gone, I've spent the night crying and regretting that I spent so much money on a haircut that makes me feel horrible. It never ends up looking anything like what I asked for, and I don't think I have absurd expectations (like, not all styles work on all types of hair, and I know that). Maybe they know how to deal with thicker curly hair here, and I'm glad that others seem to have good experiences here, but if you have curly, very fine hair, don't come here. You will leave with your hair extremely flat, even completely straight in some parts, because they don't seem to know how to style fine curly hair. My hair is fine, so water weighs it down a ton. So, simply putting a big diffuser around my head with a blow dryer blowing into it for an hour after washing it and scrunching for two seconds isn't going to do ANYTHING for me. Every time I come here I need to go home and wash my hair right after and do it all myself to try and make it actually work. I'm sorry, I really wanted to like this place, but at this point, after three visits, I'm about $600 deep and all I've gotten has been disappointment (aside from the products they sell, those are at least really great). I hate to say it, but I'm never coming back here, and if you have fine curly hair, I'd think twice about giving this place a try. I wish them well, but this place is definitely not for someone with hair like mine.

I have super curly hair and have wanted a great cut done that would showcase my curls, that's when I researched and found out about curve hair studio and it's deva trained stylists. Although I live an hour away from Kitchener I was willing to make the drive for a good hair cut. I am happy to say I was more than blown away with my experience, it was well worth the drive. The cut I received from Carla was everything I had hoped for, she cut it using the devacurl method and took the time to listen to what I wanted and to feel my hair and curl type. This is one of the only times I have felt extremely happy and satisfied walking out of a salon. The service I received was excellent and I will definitely be coming back!

For brides,I do not suggest doing your hair or make up here. They bring their makeup artists from outside they even do not know these makeup artists first name so clearly they have no idea how bad they can be. I had to ask for my deposit back since it was very bad they were cooperative in giving my money back.

My stylist was running late so I had to wait about 20 minutes before I saw her. When I met with her, she informed me that they hadn't booked me for all the services I had asked to get. I was given the option to just get a haircut or leave to come back another day. The receptionist implied that I was lying. No one was apologetic. I opted to get the haircut since I had already waited 20 minutes and wasted 10 minutes on the booking issue. Hair dresser hadn't cleaned the hair washing station and made me wait another 5 minutes before getting started (this same hair washing station was then used for 2 other clients without being cleaned after me). During the wash my shirt got soaked which was uncomfortable. My haircut was done in a hurry, it was cut a lot shorter than I wanted, stylist kept drying and straightening it leaving it very rough. She said we didn't have time to consult so she assumed how I wanted it done. She kept saying that I have curly hair when it's straight (or wavy). I don't think even despite the issue I had in the beginning with the booking the haircut was worth $45. I could have gotten the same cut for less than half the price elsewhere. Response to the Owner: I'm very surprised by this response. I had mentioned leaving a review because I was being pushed out the door without being offered any solutions. The lack of ownership on mistakes such as booking, cleanliness and customer service is obvious. Again, there is no mention of solutions and the customer is instead told they are not fit for this salon.
