Hair wash was bliss, almost fell asleep. Then, I had a great cut with Bilalo. He took some time to understand my hair and what I want and gave me just that. I have thick curly hair and it can be hard to manage. After my cut, I just get out of the shower, put on very little product and walk out the house feelin' like Rihanna. Thanks Bilalo, see you soon! I am new to Kitchener and needed a fresh hairdo. I came across Bilalo Hair Artistry and Spa through google and I'm glad I chose Bilalo. The owner, Bilalo, has done an amazing job on my hair. He colored my hair to my natural root tone, added highlights and styled my hair. They use European products by "Kuen" (sorry if i spelled it wrong), and I can feel the silkyness of my hair. Staff are friendly and I felt comfortable in the salon. Definitely going to bring my boyfriend here and I will be back for sure!

Odd and Oddities

After going to Great Clips, my hair was left looking like a bowl cut. I went to Bilalo's, and now I look completely different, amazing cuts, great prices too. Everybody here is just amazingly kind. They offer you complimentary drinks, such as coffee, latte and espressos. I'm never going back to cheaper chain places, this place is just top notch. Highly recommended.

I can here several times. Initially a great hair stylist looked after me. However, the stylist was no longer there whish forces me to pay premium cost for a haircut and it was not what I asked for. I also overheard conversations from employees bad mouthing other employees band even customers, it seemed like a toxic culture.

I have to say I've never ever had an exspirence in all the years that I've been going into salons, then the one I had at Bilalo! From the moment I walked in I was greated by everyone, the atmosphere is just so welcoming! Bilalo took the time with me to see my vision and humored me at the same time. I interacted with pretty much all the staff members, and you can tell there all like family, all smiling, laughing and just injoying what they do. I can say I was pampered and thats what my boyfriend was hoping I was going to get. From even having my hair washed, the massage was out of this world! And the best part, my cut and color. Wow, wow, wow, I am so inlove an Bilalo hit it right on the nail with this one! I don't ever think I loved my hair as much as I do right now. So first off, I hated getting haircuts before I found Bilalos. No one could cut my hair properly. So after I moved to Waterloo five years ago, I was nervous to get my hair cut. But let me tell you, Michael is the man (he's Bilalo's brother). The very first time he cut my hair, it was perfect. But the most impressive thing is that every single time I get a cut from him, it's perfect. I've been going there for five years now, every month. Now I legitimately love getting my haircut. If you're a dude, you need to sit down with Michael and get a cut. If you're a lady, give Bilalo a shot. They are very accommodating and try very hard to make sure you're happy. That's correct artist, was a very professional yet funny Italian guy named Giuseppe. Great consult from the get go. Guy even made me laugh, he said something like "It must be hard being a 10 eh?" And I was chuckling. The wash was relaxing and the haircut was sharp. All in all happy I gave this hair Salon a try, I mean who could say no to free espresso with a sick cut.

Spent over $400 for hair colour but the colour didn’t even last 2 weeks. You would expect excellent output for paying so much money but the hair colour didnt last. Was told that it was a permanent colour but it wasnt. Didnt even compensate for what happened and didnt hear back from them after.

(update at the end) I first went to Bilalo in December and the owner Bilal did a fantastic job on my Bayalage. It even looked great 8 months later and I loved the colour. I booked a root touch up the first week of September. When I arrived they said it wasn't possible and I had to do a whole Bayalage again. Fine and after 150 for a trim I would be back next week and he would "lighten some areas up beautifully" and redo my hair. The first photo was after my trim before my colour. I went and said I wanted to keep it blonde and the base still dark. Similar to the second photo (which I showed). He clearly left bleach on WAY too long and put an ashy toner on. I never asked for grey! As he was brushing it out he said I will soon need to cut alot off as it is "Too long". More like because he damaged it so bad and knew he made a mistake. Not once did he mention an increased risk of severely damaging my hair. There is a photo of the day after with the colour showing how grey it went. My hair is britle and snapping anytime I run a brush through and no longer has shine. I had beautiful healthy hair before walking in and paid $468 before tip for them to absolutely destroy my hair coloring. So I spent over $600 for a trim, colour and 2 styles which would be worth it for me if it actually looked amazing. Before leaving I even told the girls it was grey and they brushed it off saying it was "ashy". I went back Tuesday to have it fixed. I showed him my original hair again, said I want to go back towards that colour. I wanted the colour warmer. It is more towards what I wanted but still not right and my hair is damaged. Last photo is after "fixing it". Can't say I will be back again... Added.... I went in to allow them to correct the mistake one last time. All things considered, I am happy with the results and recognize that they will follow-up an ensure you are happy.

I was not sure from where to get a haircut, so i decided to read the reviews of different hair salons. So i stucked on this one Bilalo Hair Artistry. I read the reviews and decided to visit them. Michael was the one who helped me to get what i wanted. The service was really very good. Most important thing today i got a call from them they asked me about my feedback as did i liked it or not. That was so special. They are really very FAB!!!!

I recently went to see my hair stylist Giuseppe at Bilalo Hair Artistry and Spa as he recently moved salons. Giuseppe has been doing my hair for the last 6 years and has never disappointed me. I have always given him creative freedom to do what he wants and thinks will look amazing. When I went to see Giuseppe recently he already had an idea about what he wanted to do and was super excited about it. If your someone who is unsure of what to do with your hair (like me) Giuseppe will figure out something amazing to do. He makes you feel comfortable, is always up for a new challenge, and he always does an outstanding job. Finding a good salon isn’t easy, and finding an amazing one is that much more difficult. Bilalo Hair Artistry and Spa is that amazing find. Having very thick, naturally wavy hair (that goes into ringlets) makes it very difficult to get a great haircut. It’s pretty frustrating to pay money for a haircut that only looks decent at the salon. If you have to style my hair to cover up problems with how you cut it, then that is simply not a good haircut. I’ve had my hair cut in various cities across Ontario, as well as in California. Nobody has cut my hair as well as Michael does. He gave me a cut that looks great whether I leave it curly, or if I straighten it. Seriously, the guy is incredibly skilled. And when it comes to colouring, well damn, he’s a rock star! That alone would be enough reason to come check out Bilalo’s, but did I mention that they also provide complimentary beverages (sorry, no alcohol, lol), but their cappuccinos are delicious. It’s obvious that the staff has been carefully selected, because it’s an extremely welcoming and vibrant environment. Every staff member I’ve met has been friendly. Michael and Bilalo also have very entertaining personalities, and their brotherly teasing never fails to make me laugh. Bilalo and Michael have built a great salon. It’s definitely worth visiting these guys...you will be happy you did.

I've been a Bilalo client since 2007, and it's hard to imagine going anywhere else. Michael has always been the one to cut and color my hair. He knows the limitations of what I can accomplish at home in terms of replicating what he does, and never does a cut or color that I can't deal with on my own time. We talk over my ideas and options and he never lets me do anything I'd regret (except that one time when I talked him into cutting me bangs against his better judgment...) But seriously, he's great and you couldn't ask for a better conversationalist either. The music is at a comfortable level; the temperature is just right, and the coffee options are excellent. The staff is friendly and the stations are always clean and tidy. The parking is easy, and the prices are right. This salon is on par with any Toronto-level or New York-level establishment, and it's right here in Kitchener. We're lucky to have it.

Late review: I got my hair color from Bilalo. Being the most experienced stylist he left the bleach on for a long time which burnt my hair after coming home I noticed that the bleach is not covered at some places from the roots. I wanted balayage and got highlights instead how can u be so mistaken with understanding your customers. Above all the highlights are not even the same there is too much color in the center of my hair and less on the sides. I could have got this king of coloring from any salon but I chose Bilalo experienced stylish and was so disappointed with the carelessness and no attention to detail.

I went there at 1pm and specifically told them what i wanted. They assured me they’ll do it . They RUINED my hair. Bleached it twice and turned them into orange and brittle and told me it was MY fault and it’s impossible to get w i am looking for after 6-7 hours. They made me cry! Worse experience ever!! Please do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

After months of contemplating if I should get my hair cut, I finally committed and booked an appointment with Bilal himself. All I can say is that I’m so glad I booked the appointment and went through with it, 10/10 amazing experience from the call to book the appointment, to all the friendly workers who made the experience so much better and of course to the big chop! I hadn’t been to a salon for quite a few years after a few bad experiences I maintained my hair by myself with trimming it every few months. But after going through with the appointment I left the salon feeling so much lighter. It’s been a few days and I’m enjoying my shorter hair so much, Bilal gave me the perfect long layers that I could still tie up in a ponytail. Anyone who asks for salon recommendations I’ll point them in Bilalos direction. They’ve definitely got a new loyal customer :)

Wow wow wow! I visited Bilalo for the first time last week and I was truly blown away. This is a professionally run salon with a genuine focus on service excellence. From the greeting upon arrival to the salon tour....the espresso and the head massages...I think they have thought of everything! My haircut is one of the best I’ve ever had and the colour is amazing. I went in with what I would describe as thick, unruly, over processed and very dry hair that I couldn’t do anything with. I was surprised from my initial phone call where I was able to get an appointment for the same day. Upon entering the salon I was greeted by a very friendly complement of staff. I was also offered a beverage well I waited for my hair consultation. During this consultation I was able to communicate and felt that I was heard when I described some of my wants and needs when it came to my hair. The young lady who took care of shampooing my hair was extremely knowledgeable and was able to inform me on numerous hair products. I very much enjoyed my haircut and I enjoyed the light atmosphere and joking while it was being done. This was very important to me as I tend to be anxious at the hairdresser. I left loving my haircut and I've honestly been flipping it around since I got home.

Bilalo is by-far the best Salon in the region. I was surprised by the competitive pricing ($45 for a men's haircut but I would pay $60-$80 for this quality of experience), the value of the Bilalo experience far exceeds the price they charge. I originally went to the salon for a haircut and face framing highlights. The hair dresser immediately asked me to get my eyebrows done too. I was told the service was free of charge; however, I also told them I had bad experiences with brow tinting previously...sadly, this also happened here, and I will need to get them fixed because they are too dark for someone so fair, and I do not feel like I should have to wait for them to fade. On the positive side, the salon was nicely laid out and the staff were kind. When I got my hair done, many questions were asked; however, I found that decisions were made for me versus consulting me throughout the process. Change in colour decisions (went too light), cutting off a fair amount of hair right away, etc. I am a client that is nervous when going to a new salon and prefer to feel like I am making the decisions and have control over what is done. In the end, the cut was a too short for me, however, I can grow it out again. Sadly, even though I thought the people and salon were nice, I was disappointed with the results, and will not be going again. When I pay a lot for service I have high expectations, and should not have to wait for the results to be what I expect.

I was a walk in client, and still managed to get a haircut within a 20 minute wait. Nicely decorated and clean place. They brought me an expresso, gave me a wash and an incredibly good haircut very quickly as I was pressed for time. I found the price to be reasonable, about expected for an establishment that isnt a franchise. (Under 40$) Very easy to locate, and drive to as it is right by the hyway entrance. Thank you, Bilal for the great job. I will definitely be going back.

The first thing I noticed when I walked it was the atmosphere! All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. My stylist Alysha did a fantastic job on my cut and I couldn't be happier! A little expensive but definitely worth the money! Highly recommended

Micheal and the staff are very welcoming and friendly when I come into the salon. Micheal is very knowledgeable and professional. He takes the time to show me how to style my hair and what products will work best with my hair. The way I get my hairline cut, he calls it “the money cut”. I love the way Micheal does my hair. He knows what highlights and style will look best on me!! I got my first manicure done by Nattaly since COVID-19. Being a healthcare worker, I had hangnails that were bothering me. She took the time to make my nails look beautiful again. She has also did my eyebrows. She does an amazing job!! I would highly recommend Micheal and the team at Bilalo:)

Over the last 12 years Michael has given me advice on how to ask out a girl to prom, the important things to consider when buying my first car, found me the property that would eventually become my first home, and even the best places to buy wedding rings. The coffee itself deserves five stars. The laid back atmosphere and attentive staff deserve five stars. His older brother (Bilalo himself) deserves five stars for his banter alone. Bilalo Hair Artistry is a five star salon. You walk in and get a five star cut and you leave with a five star family.

I recently visited Bilalo for the first time as my stylist Giuseppe transition to this Salon and Spa. I was blown away the second I walked in, the interior and decor is absolutely gorgeous, it’s super bright, clean and modern. Secondly the staff were so friendly that I felt comfortable within 2 minutes of being there. Tiffany, instantly greeted me, took my jacket and then gave me a tour of the studio. She showed me around, got me a warm beverage (they have a great selection of coffee and drinks). Michael also came over and greeted me, just to say hello as I was waiting for Giuseppe to finish up what he was doing. For the main point of my review, Giuseppe, what an amazing stylist. He took so much time to listen to what I wanted, explained every step he was thinking to make sure I was on board and then put all his focus into making sure my hair turned out exactly like we had planned. And let me tell you, my hair turned out perfect, I have received so many comments on it and haven’t stopped admiring it all week! To mention, Eilish did the washing of my hair, and she does a fantastic job, I would also recommend asking for her if Giuseppe isn’t available! Overall I was very impressed with Bilalo, I would recommend Giuseppe and Bilalo to anyone in the KW (or further) area!

Went there a year ago. The owner cut my hair. The salon was empty. My hair was washed and cut in around 20 minutes and then he sent me home with wet hair and charged me 70 dollars!! My hair is medium length and thin. It was a simple cut. I asked him to cut away the damage and put some medium layers through it...That's it! Needing another haircut, one year later, I decided to just cut it myself as I'm tired of trying to find another hairstylist...happy to say I liked the haircut I gave myself for free just as much!

Extremely happy with my color done by Guiseppe . I came in with the worst concoction of colors on my head, and he not only restored its luster, but he created the most beautiful rose gold color melt, I couldn't be happier. They are all extremely friendly people, and the atmosphere is so comfortable. I paid alot, but it was worth every penny. You pay for the experience and expertise. He really is a hair wizard. I love sitting down in the chair and letting him do whatever he feels like with my cut.
