Both the cut and the experience were incredible. Howard introduced himself right when I walked in and made me feel like I was a regular. The barbers are very knowledge about hair products and hair types and will even make suggestions on how to deal with your hair. This is 100% the best barbershop experience I've ever had. It is a true hidden gem!

Overall shop experience is cringy with old/sketchy styling and loud music playing such that you have to yell to talk to the barber. Trevor did a decent job on the sides but absolutely butchered the top of my head. This was after I had showed him a picture of what I wanted and began to explain further before being brushed aside with "Don't tell me how to do my job I've been cutting hair longer than you've been born". The barber swore about 30 times during the cut and dropped multiple combs on the dirty floor only to pick them up and put them in my hair. I've got a really simple hairstyle and for my first visit was very disappointed. I came in on a "good" day and had to wait over an hour. Be prepared to wait at least this long for your cut. Might try the salon side of this shop at a future date but right now I need to figure out a way to fix my hair.

Howard is pretty awesome at the barbeshop. Definitely worth checking out on weekdays 5-9pm. I haven't tried the salon itself though. That said, call ahead to see if the barbershop might be closed because occasionally they will be.

Great barbershop - Howard and Trevor don't just clip you with a #2 and move on to the next customer. They provide thoughtful advice on best way to approach the cut, and are always great to chat with. Waiting room is comfortable and friendly.

I think someone rents the location on certain days, called trevors shop or something, but was really impatient and kind of lost it when i asked how long id have to wait.

Had a very similar experience to Steven Vandenbogaard here: after showing Trevor a photo of what I wanted, the sides turned out well, but the top turned into a faux-hawk, very pointed -- not what I asked for. He also cut this little patch of hair about 1cm wide from my usual part line (which has now moved about 2cm up) to the middle of my hairline (see photo) -- I have no idea why! It looks ridiculous and I'm probably going to buzz my head to fix it because it's going to look even worse while it grows out. He also cut the longer part on top at the front into this weird triangle so that I have to put gel in it or it will look stupid. On top of that, he told me three separate stories where he was complaining about previous customers, and made a point to mention their race, and their ability to speak English.

Excellent after hours barbershop for anyone who works the regular 9-5 grind; just head up, jot your name on the sign-in board, and enjoy the relaxed hang. Both Howard and Trevor do great work.

Howard was hands down the best barber I've ever had, he wasn't afraid to give you honest feedback to make you look better but always did so diplomatically. Not only is he talented, he's someone you can trust, and not just make you look sexy. In fact, one day I was up visiting Kingston for the day and naturally he was my first stop for a fresh trim. My car keys fell out of my pants but I only realized this well after he was closed. He was kind enough to hide them for me, call, and we found them later that night on our way back. What a legend of a guy, give him the key to the city already! I look forward to the next time I can #Holler@Howard

I called and made an appointment a week ago, the man on the phone disclosed their COVID policy/need to be dbl vaccinated (which is totally fair). I showed up the day of my appointment with my proof of vaccination card, just to be told that because I didn’t know the vaccination status of EVERYONE in my class that I wouldn’t be able to get MY hair done. This was so unprofessional and disrespectful, I would have appreciated being told on the phone prior to coming all the way there if they all of a sudden decided to change the policy. I was then left with nowhere to go to get my hair done as everywhere was full that last minute on a Saturday. I get there are regulars that go here that may like this place, but I would never recommend this place to ANYONE that is looking for somewhere new or someone that is new to the city. They are rude, disrespectful, and inconsiderate

I’ve had pretty varying experiences here. The most recent time I came to an appointment, Howard made me stand in the doorway and interrogated me about if I was one of the Queen’s students partying during lockdown (I’ve been isolated), which I guess was reasonable but at the time felt hostile. After this he told me he overbooked and said I could instead get it cut with his nephew in the back. Ive had it cut by Trevor once before and told him What I didn’t want. He proceeded to give me the exact same cut that I asked not to get anyway. Despite that lack of hospitality Howard actually gave me 2 of the best cuts I’ve had which is why I kept going back.

I have been going to this salon for 37 years, I was assigned to Howard my very first time and have stayed his client, although I have had the pleasure of both Jack & Bill cutting and styling my hair as well. All 3 do a fantastic job and make you feel welcome. Good conversation and good laughs at the same time and of course great haircuts and styles. I definitely recommend, need I say more!?

Trevor is an excellent barber; I mistakenly shaved my sideburns so I took a screenshot of a short haircut and showed it to him, ecstatic with the results! Both he and Howard kept interesting conversations, the music harmonized the vibe. I've found my barber, no one better.
