I have been going to this salon for a few years now. I enjoy the experience every time. My stylist is usually Erika, and every time I receive a cut and colour that I absolutely love and that wins me several compliments from friends. Their prices are reasonable, and they make sure that the experience and result is well worth it. I especially enjoy the conversation and seeing a stylist who knows you and your comfort level. They also have several excellent products on site and are willing to talk you through hair care at home. I am looking forward to going back there soon.

I went online to see if I could get an appointment to have my hair coloured and cut because I looked like I stuck my finger in a light socket. Stroke of luck I could get in right away! Kat spent time discussing my hair and my lifestyle. She consulted me on the colour and the cut she thought would work best. She used some products on my hair so I could check out the effects. Kat was awesome! I absolutely LOVE the colour and cut! It is the best style I have ever had (in 50 years!) -so versatile and flattering! I have never spent that much money on a style before or on a product (I bought the leave-in conditioner) but I'm happy to say it was worth every penny (the head massage was heavenly too!) It has been 4 days since my appointment and I love the cut and colour even more! Thank you so much Kat and Luce Hair Studio! p.s. refreshments in the waiting area would be welcome. ????

Great haircut, great highlights, very nice ambience. Will definitely be back. Only reason it is not 5 stars is because I wasn’t informed doing toner after the foils was an additional $32. That was a bit of an unpleasant surprise. I was only asked if I want toner, and my old stylist had that included in the price, so I didn’t think anything of it...despite this, I now know not to do the toner and will be back for regular hair stuff

I have been going here for about 5 years now. Erica Deslippe has been my hair stylist for the entire time and has been nothing but professional, knowledgable and engaging the entire time. Last Christmas I cut 15 inches off of my hair to donate and she gave my the best hair I've ever had. Also, she has been helping me grow it back out. Anyways, just thought her and all of the stylist there deserve a shout out for their impeccable service and skills.

I went to Luce for the first time today. I was fearful about going to a new place - everybody was very friendly. Erica was amazing! She was both thoughtful and cheerful --- she is sincerely interested in providing both a professional service and making sure the cut you get will fit with you. Absolutely amazing.was tended to by the senior hairstylist/barber [for those who don't know hairstyling and barbering are two very different things ] they are both intense on their own.and used for different applications. But since she knew how to barber as well. I was left with such a clean cut amazingly professional look. Get your scalp massaged like no other place. For what you get it's pretty reasonably priced as well. Soo happy with my new top :)

I think this place is only for a very specific 'clientele' and they are not invested in creating a long term relation with diverse groups. I had a long hair colour process (around 4 hrs) as I was getting my hair coloured for the first time. I was given a heads up about the fact that since they are virgin dark hair it's not going to be possible to achieve the ash brown balayage that I want in one sitting and I'll have to come back again in a month to get it colored once more. However there is no excuse for stark highlights which look nothing like seamless balayage right in front of my face frame! They look badly done for something I paid more than 300$! I specifically requested for V or U shape layers in my hair cut but there is a pretty straight trim. I was not offered the option to have them curled which others were, no 'customer service card' for next visit which establishes a continuous connection and let's you have a free 5th cut or any suggestion for hair products as I did mention it was my first time colouring my hair. I just felt like my money and business was not as valued to them as many others around me. I didn't want to say anything after having the lady spend 4 hours on my hair and also because I knew she couldn't be able to undo or correct anything.

Booked an appointment and arrived on time on a rainy afternoon. Without greeting, the front-desk woman merely stared at me as if she had never seen an Asian person before. I had to walk up to her to be acknowledged. She slowly, condescendingly, asked me while enunciating each syllable, if I had booked an appointment. Immediately after she heard that I knew how to speak English, her demeanour shifted, and she offered to take my jacket. Paid around $80 for hair toning and a blow dry. Felt marginalized. Will not return!

This is a great hair studio. I am always met with a friendly greeting, I get a great haircut, my appointment is always met on time, and i can always count on a courtesy reminder one day before my appointment. I like the downtown location since it is near many great boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops.

My favourite hair salon in Kingston. I am a student at Queen's and wasn't sure where to go because my regular hair salon was in Toronto. I went to a few salons in the area and nothing compared to the way I was treated at Luce. The prices are extremely reasonable and the stylists are extremely conscious of the fact that they are providing services for many students. I ended up getting an appointment with the stylist Sophie and could not have been happier with her services. She has done highlights, toners, cuts, and hair treatments with me and I have absolutely loved it all. Sophie is extremely down to earth and is prepared to be chatty on a great day and give you some space when I am trying to catch up on school or just not having a great day. She is a fantastic hair dresser and I would happily recommend her to anyone in the area. My roommates now go to her as well, she is able to provide excellent services to all! :)

I ve been going to Luce downtown for a couple of years, always feels welcoming, and comfortable. I like that they have a customer appreciation card, you get your fifth cut for free- it s not why I go there, but it s nice. I go because I ve finally found someone (Cat) who cuts my frizzy hair in a way that I can style it myself, and it grows out nicely.
