Very good salon, with an excellent range of services. Staff includes very experienced stylists and expert colourists. Services are not rushed. Consultations are thorough. Covid protection measures are evident throughout the space, but subtle. Accessible. Plus, very good selection of art by local artist.

I absolutely love this salon! Alanna always does an amazing job on my hair. She is very friendly, professional and funny! I’ve always jumped from salon to salon, but now I’ve finally found the one for me!

I went to ECHO with 11 bridesmaids and family members on the morning of my wedding for hair and makeup. The team did a fantastic job. They were able to work with all of the varying hair types and bring each individual’s vision to life. They are talented at hair and makeup, but are also wonderful people. They put us all at ease and helped us to have a stress-free morning. You can tell how much they care about their clients, even taking the time to fix some of the girls’ hair and makeup later in the morning, so that no one left until they felt 100% happy with their look. For myself, Liz did my hair and Deb did my makeup. They are such a fun pair! I almost never do my hair and makeup, so didn’t have much of a vision, but together they created a perfect look for me, which was authentic to myself.

Most of the time I had no problems here. They offer a wide range of services. They were great until my regular hair stylist left and the next one was okay, but I tried a different one on my return after a while and she was rude and unfriendly with no explanation. A good place to looked for a competent stylist and the prices are not too high.

I hadn't had my hair cut in 6 months and my ends were brutally dry and frizzy. Ricky was the stylist I didn't know I needed. He expertly and precisely cut my hair quickly yet carefully and made me feel perfectly at ease even though haircuts during COVID 19 can be stressful. The folks at Echo were lovely too, I had a contactless check in and check out and felt very safe and well taken care of throughout the hour I was at the salon. So happy with my experience that my partner booked a cut with Ricky the following week too!

Popped in for a haircut without an appointment. The front desk was able to get me in with a stylist within minutes of entering the building. I received a fantastic haircut and was treated like I have been a client for many years. The professionalism from the front desk to the stylists made the overall experience amazing and I will definitely be returning! If you’re looking for a stylist I highly recommend Jess Austin you will not be disappointed!

I just read a review referencing Marie Claude and what appears to attempt to present her and this salon as less than excellent and as having an ethnic bias. I am from Kingston and am extremely happy with the skill and service of the salon. My guess, as I read this particular review, is that this is a client who attended once and someone who is generally a complainer. Nothing about that salon has any preference to old young long hair short hair demanding not demanding. Respect and quality is the same for all. That review is simply a type of bullying and the sad example of what happens so much of late.

If you’re ETHNIC do NOT waste your money here! Owner, Marie-Claude, takes white privilege to a new level..I was conflicted about calling the salon after my $65 blow out but I was really unhappy with the job they did and the owner could not have cared less. She actually said they “should have charged me double for the time it takes to work with MY KIND of hair”!!! And that she would take a flat iron to it but that was all, I informed her that wouldn’t resolve the issue as the roots weren’t dried properly and she refused to re-do it, told me “it was my fault because:” 1) My hair is just like that if I don’t have it permanently straightened (btw this doesn’t exist for black hair however my hair is chemically relaxed so in essence it’s even easier to work with) 2) Sweat causes roots to curl (so I must perspire a lot) 3) It has been a couple days since my appt 4) The stylist already did the work so it would take too much time to re-do For the record I LOVE MY THICK CURLY AFRICAN HAIR AND I DON’T BELIEVE IT’S APPROPRIATE TO SHAME ME FOR THE TIME IT TAKES YOUR UNTRAINED PERSONNEL TO WORK WITH IT. If you’re a hair dresser know how to work with all hair. The world is diverse and it would be so great if we could add inclusive as well.
