This salon under new ownership has evolved into an cluttered, over decorated, unrelaxing atmosphere. The music is played so loud you can't hear yourself think or carry on a conversation. The new staff, never smile, say a kind word and are pretentious. The sense of team and the motto that "they are all our clients" has given way to an undercurrent of unfriendliness. It would go a long way if you would revisit the idea of working together as a team.

Been here about 3X. I love the environment, Very Indonesian Chic. I've seen Grace each time. I know she specializes in blondes and balayage. You can even go on the website and read a little clip about each hairdresser. You can also get amazing products, i love the hair masks. They have really beautiful jewellery and have so many other spa type options to choice from. I have never left dissapointed, only with a big smile on my face. I will be going back again for sure! :)

I cannot say enough good things about Desiree. I came to her awhile ago wanting silver hair, she was honest with me and told me that doing this all in one treatment would greatly damage my hair. Since then we have been working to get my hair lighter, and I swear I never leave her chair disappointed!! I had my first hair cut with Grace yesterday and when I lived in Kelowna got my hair done by Courtney. The space is beautiful, the staff is awesome and I felt like a goddess after my haircut!! Highly recommend Purnama! Grace also did my hair and makeup for my wedding day. As someone who wears very little makeup on a regular basis and on a day as important as my wedding Grace, made me feel completely at ease. I felt so beautiful and completely like myself, she enhanced my natural features in a way that allowed me to still feel natural. Love Purnama! I have been going to Kat at Purnama for just over a year now and won’t be going anywhere else! I trust her creativity and advice when choosing styles and products, especially if I don’t really know what to do with my hair. On the rare occasion I know what I want done, then she never fails to create exactly that. She’s done everything from blonde balayage, red ombré, to brunette colours with my hair and all have turned out great, while also not frying my hair. The salon itself has such a cool and laidback atmosphere and it’s so welcoming. Prices are super reasonable, shampoo chairs are comfy, and parking isn’t really an issue. So happy to have found this gem :)

Crystal butchered my hair to put it nicely. Did the opposite of what I asked, and hacked off my hair, awful cut. I cried through half my appointment, was then told it would be fixed within the month. Crystal then proceeded to block all messages and phone calls regarding the matter. Was then told by another stylist at the salon that I needed to go to another salon and that they would not be fixing the disaster that had been caused. Go literally anywhere else unless you want to be treated like just another number, and thrown to the curb as soon as they do anything wrong. This salon needs to take responsibility for destroying someone's hair and confidence.

I have never left a salon feeling 100% satisfied with the results of my hair until I visited Purnama. I was randomly booked with Desiree and I am beyond grateful for it! I was there much longer than anticipated due to the deceiving amount of hair she didn't know I had initially. I came in on Valentine's Day and she postponed her evening plans for me. I never once felt rushed because she truly made me and my hair her top priority. She takes her time and is extremely detail oriented, literally giving you perfect results. She consistently asked for approval before doing anything to my hair and I appreciated that greatly. I won't be seeing any other stylist from now on. She is a wonderful human being and I trust her completely. This salon in general is also just such a beautiful place and the ambiance/vibe it gives off is full of positivity, creativity, and so much love.

I am beyond grateful to have had Desiree as my stylist for our wedding for many reasons; First being, she listened to what my ideas were for my hair and worked until we got it just right. I had also never worn extensions before, but she put them in and made them feel effortless and natural. I got my big wavy curls that I wanted, without any frizz or mess. I’m pretty picky when it comes to my hair and Desiree absolutely nailed it! Secondly, and to me, the most important reason why I would HIGHLY recommend Desiree to any bride is because of who she is as a person. From the moment I met her she was warm, genuine and inviting. She had this radiant energy about her that made each interaction with her (triall and wedding day) feel light and exciting but also calming and relaxed (which is pretty important considering the “day of” can be pretty hectic for some brides). Desiree also worked with one of my bridesmaids who wears a wig due to alopecia. My bridesmaid was nervous as she isn’t really comfortable being public about her hair loss and hadn’t had her wig styled previous to our wedding. Desiree was so sensitive and discreet when working on her hair and my bridesmaid absolutely loved the way it turned out. She said it was nice to be able to feel like one of the girls, getting her hair done with everyone. Thank you again for making us feel as beautiful as ever, on such an important day!

Which had been turned orange at random areas so no easy task to fix. Kat has turned my hair into a dream. I am so thankful for her time and care. Purnama is a beautiful little oasis and I feel pampered every time I go there, between the comfy relaxing couches, the delicious "Purnama Blend" tea, and the extra long head massage! LOVE the decor. Courtney has created a warm and welcoming space for both her clients and her fellow stylists. Courtney is highly skilled with colour techniques and with the latest cuts. As are the other stylists from what I can see when I watch clients come in and then leave with amazing new looks. One thing to note, this is not a Magic Cuts type experience, and the price reflects that. The experience and the end product is well worth the cost in my opinion! Highly recommend this salon.
