I had the absolute pleasure of having my hair cut at Opus Salon in Kelowna. The atmosphere was delightful, with everyone clearly enjoying their experience and beaming at the end results. I have no doubt that I was also beaming as Ludovic showed me products to help tame the frizzy beast I call hair, cut my mop into an incredibly stylish look, and took the time needed to style it into something fantastic! Absolutely amazing service and lovely atmosphere. I was warmly greeted into this clean and bright salon upon walking in. I went from medium to long length hair to a pixie cut. A big change for me, but after the consultation, I knew I was in good hands! I got my cut from Ludo, he cut it exactly the way I wanted it, taking in consideration my hair type and explaining the process along the way as well as showed me how to re-create the style back at home. Amazing job! I felt like a whole new woman (on the outside) walking out with a new hairdo and some high quality products. Definitely recommend and will be coming back to this trusted salon. Heck-to-the-yes! Opus rose above the occasion and wowed me with their excellent service and care when it came to my hair. Given that my first experience at their salon was in the wake of new COVID restrictions, they made me feel completely safe, comfortable, and like I was at home. I am obsessed with the color and how gently my hair was handled. Jess gave me the royal treatment, ensuring the not even one little hair on my head was subject to bleach damage. And Ludo refreshed my cut, making me feel like a new person when I left through their doors. Incredibly glad I put my trust in their hands, as I was about to start filming a movie just a few days later! I would 100% recommend them if you're in need of a hair-makeover for your 'movie star close-ups'! ????

I really debated writing this review because of how kind everyone in the salon is including the owners, by far the best salon experience I’ve ever had in that aspect. However I’ve been severely bothered since I left the salon two days ago after my second appointment and I feel it’s important to share my experience with others who may have tape in extensions. There were similar issues with the installation at my first appointment but because of the character limit i'll only post about my most recent app. Firstly I love my colour it matches my extensions perfectly, and the owner gave me a free Olaplex treatment and I believe another hair mask as well for free due to the issues with my last tape up which was very kind and appreciated. However half way through my appointment I was informed they did not have enough tapes at the salon for my appointment. As I have some at home I asked my boyfriend to bring them to us, thankfully this worked out but I felt that’s something that should always be doubled checked prior or else I may of had to leave with no extensions. Unfortunately the tape up was a mess, because the removal was done by three stylists they were all mixed up, I have a lot of hair so it was impossible to figure out which belonged where after they were unorganized. The extensions were placed in such a mixed up order my only choices were to stay a few hours longer or cut an inch to an inch and a half off a lot of my extensions at the back or it would’ve looked like a botched job. Ludo did a beautiful job on the cut, he listened to exactly what I wanted and I was very thankful he came back to the salon to help but I wasn't expecting this big cut. I still planned to come back, because there were still a lot of pros and I could see potential for the results I wanted in the future until I got to the cash. My original app was in the 700’s that was extension removal, full head of highlights, install, and 5 products. This time I went with a half head of highlights and one product so I was expecting somewhere in the 450-500 range. The total was 730. I told her the cost of my last app and how it made no sense how I got less done and less products for nearly the same price. I then saw my receipt, I was charged for a style when the only reason we had to re curl my extensions that were curled when I came in was because we had to straighten them to see the different lengths because again they got all mixed up. She offered to remove the charge but said “I can take this off but this took me all day” this is not my fault. Usually my hair appointments are 5-6 hours not 10. She then showed me I was charged 450 for a weft extension, that I don’t even have because “it was more difficult” that was the moment I wanted to blow up but it was Christmas Eve I was tired, so I just paid and left rather than stay and argue. I looked again on their site to make sure I wasn’t the one in the wrong and I’m not. It states 50/hour for removal. Which it only took one hour due to three stylists removing them. And 60 per 30 minutes for install, this usually takes 2 hours. So it would’ve been 240 plus the removal totalling 290. I’m very frustrated and annoyed I paid 450 for a tape up at almost double the cost listed. It shouldn't fall on me to pay for styling that I came in with to be redone because of their mistakes nor to pay nearly double for a service because it was difficult for the stylist. If we removed the difference in cost of the service I was charged for vs the service I actually got there’s a 160 difference. Which would bring me right over the estimate I had in my head at 570 and removing the style that I shouldn’t of had to pay for either would bring me to the 550 mark which makes sense with their online prices as well as judging by my first appointment. My hair does look nice. But after leaving disappointed both times and this time just angry after sitting down and realizing exactly what happened I wouldn’t return. Beautiful colour, beautiful cuts, but I wouldn’t recommend any ladies with extensions to this salon unfortunately.

She is so passionate and you can tell that she really cares about what she does. The whole salon experience was lovel. Everything is really clean and minimalist, which is really nice. Prior to moving to Kelowna last November, I was located in Vancouver for just under two years-originally from Ontario. Throughout my time in BC, I was completely unable to find any salon that I felt comfortable enough to try their hand on my long, very curly, colored hair- so much so, my hair color had grown out to halfway down my hair! One day, whilst at my new job, I ran into a coworker with the most amazing hair color and just had to ask where she gets her hair done! She excitedly told me about a stylist named Khyla at Opus Salon Kelowna and I immediately called in to make an appointment. The receptionist was very polite and the scheduling was very flexible. Upon arriving for my appointment, I was greeted on time by Khyla herself and she was so sweet and welcoming; I felt as though we've been friends forever! I was even fortunate enough to meet the Salon owners. Khyla was very knowledgeable(even taught me about my hair type and how to best care for it) and she even stayed after hours to ensure both she and I were no less than absolutely ecstatic about the result. Throughout my appointment, I felt very cared for and as though I had the full attention, interest and dedication from my stylist. I have already booked a follow up appointment and look forward to a long relationship with my new found forever stylist Khyla!

I had an amazing vivid colour and fantastic cut by Monika! If you're looking for super bright, long lasting colour, this is where to go! Not only was I so happy with my cut and colour, the products I went home with are so nice! With my curls take a beating with the colouring I prefer (brights and neons) the aftercare is so important! Of note, the dynamics between the stylists and the owners (mentoring stylists) is so fantastic! My sitting was 5 hours, and in that time I watched each team member really support each other, and learn from each other. It's was such a nice environment to spend the day! Go here.
