I loved this Salon when my stylist worked there, upon her moving I had the misfortune of trying out the owner as my "Master Stylist". Her manners and social skills were appalling, her skills as a hair dresser were severely amateur, but greatly covered up by a decent finishing style. once I washed my hair and saw it looked more like a child did it with a cut by numbers book, I realized the true fraudulent "Master" she is. Since then I have only heard from stylists who have worked with her and that salon, and clients of hers, who have horror stories of their own. Don't waste your hair, time and money on Tabatha or her Salon. There are far better options out there that are professional and talented.

I’ve never had a hair stylist take as much time as she has to ask about what I want, to give me options, let me help pick the colors and hype me up while we do it! She is easy to get along with and very knowledgeable. I will NEVER let anyone else touch my hair also MOD salon is sooo beautiful, the staff is so kind and the prices are very reasonable

I absolutely loved my first and second time (of course I went back!) in the chair with Dusty as my hair stylist. She knows her blondes and I love the blonde I have now!! I had also had quite a dramatic cut, and I must say I've never been happier with a hair cut, it just works so well with my hair! I was nervous going shorted but I feel dusty gave me the PERFECT 'lazy girl chic' hair style, I don't every have to do much to it and I always feel fabulous - She also took the time to show me some hair curling tricks, to get a messy wave which I went home and immediately tried. Wouldn't even give an approximate estimate for a coloring service, despite providing clear pictures. Wanted to waste time having me drive out there, even after I explained it's hard for me to make it over there and just want a ballpark to know if it's even worth driving out for their consultation - presumably they do this so they can pressure you. So many good hair services in Kelowna, pick another company who don't act like they're too good to interact with you and answer simple questions. Edit: Reply to the owner's reply - I literally asked an approximation of whether it would be ABOUT $200? $400? $600? Or what similar clients end up paying in the past and you refused to even ballpark it. I explained it's hard for me to make it down there (for medical reasons), so I wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time and effort and putting myself through more pain just to get there and find out you could have just told me by ahead of time it's going to be $500-600 and that's out of my range. Honestly, this has been dealt with horribly.

Golden first impression! Mod has an impeccable attention to detail, from the decore to service everything is high end. I was greeted by warm staff, offered a choice of bevies from the laminated menu (love that!), and after my consult with Beth I was offered an iPad for entertainment. Did I mention the shampoo station has the most comfortable lay down chaise? I went back the next day for a colour adjustment and they were so great about it and even squeezed me in right away. Seriously love this place!

A day at Mod Salon is always a great day for me !! Starting with Craig and Nicole at the front desk. They book my appointments by phone or online ! Then are there to greet me when I come in for my service. They are always smiling and there to offer me water - sparkling or still , my favourite though ; always wine :). Off to see Ginger, she is the only one who I trust with my eyebrows !!!! Truly a master artist :). Ginger does all spa treatments from eyebrow shaping / waxing to tattooing ( love they are always perfect !!!! No more pencils ) ! Ginger also does eyelashes , no more mascara and ready to meet the public at the drop of a hat !! Eyeliner tattooing is just another service you can pick - terrificr pairing with my perfect eyebrows and eyelashes !! I have Ginger to thank when I am standing in the lineup at the grocery store and I get all the compliments for my great makeup ! After my snooze and refresh with Ginger then I am moved over to Dusty for her magical ways with my hair ! Which I have trusted with very few ! As a woman , we all know there are few that we will trust with what we value the most - our hair ! Dusty has only been the second to do my hair in my 20years in Kelowna. I have always been the one to give full license to my stylist once I have found them ! Dusty never disappoints and I always leave loving my new looks. Not only is she my therapist , who listens to all that is going on with my life ( as boring as it is ).... The colour choices are always amazing and the cut of course always flattering ! I work in an office where there are always compliments and asks of where I go - quite a few have also decided to join me :). I love seeing Dusty and knowing that I am going to be pampered and leaving feeling like a millions bucks ! I also have a major girl crush on Tabitha ( the owner ) she is always there as well - laughing , smiling and so welcoming ! She seems to have brought together the best of the best for her Salon , they are all so great and I feel as though I am hanging out with a group friends whenever I go ! If you are tired of the same old or looking for a place to start going - get yourself over to Mod Salon on Pandosy , you will not be disappointed.

Everytime I leave Mod salon I tell myself I am going to write a review. I honestly don't know why it took me so long. I had the best experience with Emily. I was new in Okanagan at the time when I met her at the Mod salon. I have tried few places in Westbank and Kelowna, but I did not really get what I wanted until I found this place. All-in-all, an excellent salon with wonderful products and great results. My stylist Kayla had excellent color correcting skills. I left with color and a cut I absolutely love! Thats the most important thing! The only feedback I have with my recent color correcting experience was there was quite a bit of friction during our initial color consultation and that working with hair after a stripping color process could use a gentler touch perhaps. I was taken from multi-shades of warm blonde to a very ashy / cool blonde. I’ve been told going blonde can make hair more fragile, and should be treated gently. While there wasn’t unbearable pain from the rougher bristled brush detangling and tight twisting of my wet hair after processing, I did wonder whether any of the resulting breakage could have been avoided if a comb / brush intended for wet hair and gentler-touch was applied. All in all, I am very happy. It was a difficult job but we ended up on the same page, and I would go back. *posted from shared gmail account*

Kayla knocked it out of the park! No other hairstylist has been able to get quite the right type of bob cut I've been looking for. From the photographs I showed Kayla (and from photo she looked up as well), Kayla was able to duplicate the exact look I was aiming for and she did an amazing "dry cut" on my hair. For good reason she’s proved to us time and time again why we keep going back. Overall I really like this salon they have Awesome customer service and high quality products. The worst hair experience I have ever encountered. My first time writing a google review. I Felt inclined to do this due to the horribly negative experience I had !!! I also called the salon originally to express how disappointed I was. Spoke to the manager who apologized & told me he would connect after speaking with the owner. There was no follow-up & never heard from that person. I didn’t want any compensation just a sincere apology. Therefore, I am writing this review due to their lack of follow up & service which seems like a repeated pattern. I wasn’t going to write a review as I don’t like that it negatively impacts businesses but I changed my mind. So here it is: I have been professionally dying my hair with blonde highlights for 15 years with a hairstylist. I could not believe the service provided especially given the price Which was $380 approximately. I booked this salon as covid restrictions were lifted. I didn’t realize they were overbooking clients & not taking their time To do a good job, which is soooo unethical. As I sat in the chair, the hair dresser tells me that she is expensive & just so I know she charges X amount. I sorta felt disrespected.. I looked at the quotes prior to booking, so I knew it was on the pricey side. She proceeded to have a major attitude... The hair dresser literally had 2 hours & so she rushed on my hair & the colour didn’t set in. Every time I book blonde highlights which I was specific to indicate at time of booking, they normally book me in for 3 hours. The hairdresser literally took out her time restraints on me & stated that I didn’t properly indicate what I wanted. I was about to show her the email confirmation which shows what I asked for. Then, she proceeded to tell me how broken & damaged my hair was. Lol & then told me that my purple shampoo I use is cheap (I use milkshake). To top it off I had 3 separate hair stylists finish my hair as she needed to be off work at a certain time. Essentially a salon issue became my issue. I took vacation that day for self care to get my hair done & feel pretty. I left the salon feeling stressed & bullied about my hair. I didn’t say anything because I don’t do well with conflict. Anyhow, I would seriously avoid this salon!

The staff at Mod Salon is incredible. They find the delicate balance between personable and professional with such ease. The salon is in a great neighbourhood, and easily accessible! Jess has been my stylist for years. I'm currently out of town working on a contract, and in that period of time, I've had one haircut: it was about 6 months ago when I came back to town for Labour Day weekend. Jess is such a good stylist that I would seriously rather wait till I can see her again than to find a new stylist I can trust. Can't wait to be back in Kelowna and back in Jess's, and the entire team's, capable hands again!

Had the pleasure of going to Mod Salon for my first time yesterday. Not only what I able to book an appointment with a stylist that afternoon, but she did an amazing job as well. I booked an appointment with her for a colour correction (at the Mod receptionist's recommendation) without knowing anything about her or her work, and boy did I hit the jackpot! I thought my hair was unfixable. This wasn't the case! Thanks to Kaytlyn, I now have the exact hair (both colour and cut) that I wanted. She is a miracle worker. Go see her!

I came in for a cut and colour with the stylist Kaytlyn and she did an amazing job!!! She actually listened to what I wanted for colour and it turned out perfect. I had a few questions about different hair colours and she answered every question in detail and was very kind! While she was cutting my hair I noticed how much effort and how detailed she was - it made me feel very confident while I was sitting in her chair (as usually I feel super nervous about anyone cutting my hair). She is very warm and friendly - knows how to make you feel very welcome. I got so many compliments on my colour and cut. I will be recommending everyone I know to her. The whole experience was a 5 star visit. The salon is very clean, the vibe is very cool, and I love all the decor!!! I will definitely be back.

I recently went to Mod Salon based on a recommendation from a friend. Finding a great hairdresser is hard - so wanted to give them a try. They were much more expensive that what I'm used to paying for a cut, was originally quoted $95 with the stylist, and then charged $105. I'm totally ok paying that if I find the cut/service is worth it, but I can't say that I found it any better than someone I had seen and was paying $75 for the cut. The stylist used a straightner on my hair while cutting it, and I never use a straightner as a styling tool, which I had mentioned. I mentioned that I round brush my hair to style - and that was never done or discussed. It is a beautiful salon, and they use wonderful products, I suppose I was just hoping for a better cut than what I had received. Can't say I would recommend based on my experience, but do see how it would work for some.

As soon as I walked into the door I was greeted with an offer of coffee, tea, or speciality water. It was like walking into a salon in New York. The staff was attentive and really understood the look I was going for. The owner even took the time to come chat with me and ask how my service was; the salon was super busy, but that didn't stop her from giving me a one on one. She really listen when I explained how I wanted my hair done, a really icy bayalage, and the result was perfection! She also fixed my curtains bangs, careful about still keeping it as long as I want it. By far the best experience I’ve had at a hairdresser for a long time and on top of McKenzie’s professional skills she was also a lovely girl! I was so happy when I left!! Thank you thank you for making me look gorgeous! If she for some reason ever decides to go work in Stockholm, Sweden, I’ll be her first customer! The place itself felt very clean and hip, everyone in the staff was so nice and friendly towards me. So happy that I went here!

im a guy and i showed a picture and asked for my front hair to go down to the bottom of my nose and she cut it to my eyes and she disconnected the top and didn't texturize a single part of my hair. could of got a better cut at sports clips

I've honestly been crying for 3 days. I paid $207 and ya its not $500 but I just expected more for that money. I asked for a balayage and I have really blond highlights underneath my hair and no balayage on the outside of my hair. The stylist started underneath because told her I put my hair up a lot and wanted it to be lightened up but the bleach had more time to process because that was the first thing she bleached. The bleach didn't really lift on the outside and the only change is that it's more red than before. I am also noticing missing streaks :/ I don't want anyone to go through this, please go somewhere else for balayage. Yes, I have a free re-do appointment, and they were really nice about it, but this shouldn't have happened in the first place and I shouldnt have to cry for a week until I get it fixed. P.s. I had virgin hair so I don't think I was a challenging case to colour Update after redo: Still have blond streaks coming from underneath my hair after the permanent cover up for the uber blond parts. Forwent the balayage and just asked to make my hair look like before. Stylist didn't have it in her to say sorry about anything. She made excuses for the underneath lightening.. saying my top hair has chemicals in it that make the top bleach different than the underneath... I have virgin hair. Admitted that the bleach was on longer underneath but "doesn't know what really happened". The front guy was really nice, greeted me by name, offered me a drink, followed me out to make sure I was happy, but by then it was just too much for me. This experience has been really bad for me.

MOD salon is the best salon I’ve been to in Kelowna. They are very professional, clean and friendly. Kaitlyn is my stylist and she always goes over pricing with me before we start our services. I’m blonde and require lots of work when I go in for my appointments and I always leave feeling taken care of. My hair has gotten extremely healthier since I started going to kaitlyn in June. I absolutely love this salon! The location is perfect - I always hit Blenz on my way into the salon. Their atmosphere is lovely - music, lighting, everything. The lounge chairs that they wash your hair in are buttery and dreamy! And I’ve never had stylist remorse. Jess is the bomb! She always nails my blonde, which is hard to do. Their products are luxurious and smell so yummy. I always make a date night after my hair appointment because I know I’m going to look amazing. Dusty is amazingly talented - I have naturally quite dark hair - and few stylists can get the blonde just right. Either too brassy yellow, or way too ashy which ages me terribly. I began seeing Dusty 3 years ago when I moved to Kelowna, and she nailed the colour right away, and has ever since. I moved back to Victoria 18 months ago, and I travel to Kelowna 3 times a year just so Dusty can do my hair. It's worth it. I also love that she has more than one style or colour - the variety In her IG shows how very talented she is. On top of her being so talented, she is an absolute joy to be around, and a super nice person. The premises are bright, and clean, and the other staff are always friendly and helpful - its just the best place to go.

Mod has such a modern and fun vibe, it is a beautiful salon and you can even get a glass of champagne or wine while in the chair. My stylist Kendall is incredible. I had my hair done by Kaytlyn recently - to color correct my blonde, do a root touch up and a cut and she’s AMAZING! I have very thick textured dark hair naturally and she made it look awesome.
