Booked appointments, got confirmation texts and reminder text 2 days before my appointment. Tried to sign in to look at what I booked in for as it was a while ago and apparently you can't look at your profile after you've signed out?!?! AND when I called to ask, they informed me, after putting me on hold, that they weren't able to do my services anymore... ok, so WHY send the reminder text in the first place?!?! Why allow people to book if you don't have students available? That seems like incredibly poor management

I am completely disappointed in this college! I've recommended all the staff to family and friends alike for years an NEVER have I seen such a HACK job on someones hair as I did today on my own father! I will NO LONGER be sending people their way as the staff are not only extremely rude! But they also made a joke of my father. He has been going to MCC for a few years now to support the students thanks to me suggesting them in the past. I've had friends who've gone to school there an express the gossip that goes around that building. However! Three months ago was the mark of my FATHERS LAST appointment!!!! He went in for the usual bleach touch up and cut. His hair usually takes an hour longer to get completely finished. My father has very dense hair an lots of it, instead of properly cutting it as usual. The students and teachers decided to BUZZ CUT his entire under coat of hair an keep a thin drop of hair covering it up like curtains. Not only that but they took his nice golden locks and didn't bother to cut it evenly. One side of his head is completely longer than the other! Today I watched my 55 year old father cry, because someone made fun of the fact they can see through his hair. He is NOT happy. My father is man very proud of his long hair at his age and it defines his character to his soul! Unfortunately the teachers decided not to correct their students and accept this cruel cut as acceptable. Hair is very important these days, so don't trust this college as the teachers are ignorant to peoples requests of their students. Although the student herself was very friendly and kind. NOBODY offered her input or help, making things escalate. Now my father has to cop all his hair off to look normal again. He needs his long hair for his business as it's a selling factor on his own slogan. The instructors make me sick to my stomach, and come across as quite unbelievable. I feel bad for anybody being trained by them or coming to get their hair done here. As the professors do not come across as {professionals)!! I WILL NEVER get my hair done by these peoples ever again. An if anyone asks my opinion I will gladly point them away from here! JUST DISGUSTING SERVICE!!!

Very fun and professional place considering all these folks are just learning! I left feeling like myself again and not looking like a tired 'mum' anymore!!! Shout out to Larissa for an unbelievable job, I would highly recommend her as I'm sure once she is finished her school year she will be a hard one to book with!! You guys are all Killin it!!!! Don't listen to the bad reveiws.... Sounds more like an blown over situation.... Maybe these 'bad review's' could have been avoided if patience, understanding and maybe a big lunch before hand...... would have helped avoid the situation. Waaah!

***PLEASE READ***Dont ever go here. If i had a choice to rate this no stars, boy i would. I went here today to get my hair stripped from black to a medium brown, with some balayage in it. They turned my hair to a blond / red colour, basically orange after continuously showing them the colour i wanted. No one listened to me, they only did to my hair what they thought would look good. I had to get them to dye it 2 times. First tome it cane out 4 different colours. Brown, then blond, then brown, then dark brown. As hideous as it was and sounds, they were shocked to hear i didn't like it. It gets better. The second time they died, it came out orange.. i told them the colour i wanted after the first mess up and no one listened. If your considering going here you might as well turn off the lights and do your hair yourself because you'll get the same exact outcome. The staff was atrocious, aside from one. Christina i believe her name is. She was the only sweetheart, other than her, everyone else was insanely rude. All the staff were whispering to each-other, making me think they were talking trash about me. The “professional” that was guiding my hairdresser was acting like im the one that made this mistake and this was all my fault. It doesn't take rocket science and grade 4 education to learn the difference between the colour of BROWN and ORANGE. I cant even express how much i don't want ANYONE to go here unless you want you self esteem to drop to rock bottom. Listen to all the bad reviews, they are not wrong. I wish i would have listened. To all the women/men working at mc college, in the hair salon, note to self : you might as well go work for McDonalds because your most likely to make a career out of that than what you think your good at right now. If your even thinking about going to school here, do yourself and favour and just throw your $15 000 out the window. There at least it’ll be put to better use.

I really love this place! If you have the patience to sit as a model for students (don't expect a speedy service - they are learning!) it is worth your time. I went twice to get a hair cut and both time it was done perfectly. The students have great teachers who check what they are doing and the hair cut is better than everything I got from professionals before.

I would not recommend this school to anyone. My color and cut were horrible, no offense to the poor girl that was trying to do my hair, the school should be ashamed for putting such an inexperienced student on an advanced color. ( SO its not that I am mad it didnt turn out I am pissed I was charged 100$ for it ), then to have it adjusted they gave me a girl that has been in the school for 2 months and could barely speak English.Normally that wouldnt matter but when you need to communicate whats needing to be fixed it kinda does. When I asked for someone a bit more advanced all of a sudden it would have been the end of next week before I would be able to get in to have my hair fixed. The receptionist bascially told me to bad, wait or dont come here. So now I am out 100 bucks .. and horrible hair until I can get in somewhere else to have it fixed. SO you think your saving money by going to a school but NOPE costs double and that doesnt include all the time wasted. Never again! FYI, By the way wasnt able to post unless I picked a star but honestly I dont even want to give the 1 star that I did.

My wife and one her coworkers already comes here. I went in for a cut and colour (they had 25% off all colouring and it included a haircut). I have naturally black hair and wanted to go grey. The student and her teacher went through the whole process with me at the beginning and then again before each new step. I went through 2 bleachings before the toner. They gave me easy to follow instructions on how to maintain it. My scalp was sore by the end and couldn't do any more processing so they told me that I could come back the next week for a free touch up of colouring. I came back after my scalp had rested and they fixed some of the areas that had not gone fully grey. They also put a conditioning treatment on with a long scalp massage. I am so happy with the final result! I have been telling everyone to go there and I will definitely go back. Over the two appointments, I worked with 2 students and one teacher who were all welcoming, full of energy, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process.

Not recommended. Totally disppointed with the services I received. The one hour massage was more like 45 minutes. The student taking all the information suddenly became sick while I was waiting in the room, face down for an extended period of time. The instructor came in and told me another student would be taking over. The new student did not read or go over the detailed notes taken by the original student and simply rushed through the treatment. When the instructor came in for feedback I advised her of this and she simply did not care. In a phone call to her this morning about my eyelash tint needed a redo, she told me that her main customers are her students and not the paying customers. I advised her that with all the Group On coupons out there prices were cheaper to go to a professional established business than to come to a school and be treated so poorly. She argued with me, the esthetics instructor and told me she didn't like my attitude...well...I sure didn't like her lack of caring about the quality of service this school should strive for. They are students and are learning....but with an attitude of the head instructor in esthetics, it doesn't surprise me now why I got the lack of service that I did. Very disappointed with this school and how this particular instructor thinks that she is not open to any suggestions for improving the school.

I had the pleasure of getting my hair cut by Kayla. She was awesome, and did a great job! I defiantly recommend trying the college and letting the students practice. The instructors are all there while the salon is open.

Ask for Kathleen! Professional, quality service and somehow still in school. She did a leg wax and eyelash extensions for me and it was amazing! Better lash extensions than some of the salons in town. Highly recommend

Here’s the thing: they are students! So if you are expecting tour regular salon treatment, you’re gunna have a bad time. Every student who has cut my hair (3) was friendly and genuinely cared about delivering what I asked for. Did I always get this? No! But how the hell else are they supposed to learn. I’ve always assumed hairdressers know more about my hair than I do and, guess what, so do these lovely individuals. I will continue to go back. Just know that a cut/color will take 4-6hrs. Plan your time accordingly and you will enjoy a solid hair experience for a fraction of the cost!

They wouldn't allow my sleeping newborn into the spa for my 30 min lash tint. When asked why, she said 'I don't know, it's just a rule' Obviously I'm not going to leave my baby with a stranger at the check in counter.....so I guess I have to find a new place to get my lashes done.

My partner and I both got haircuts from the lovely students at MC College. My stylist Kat did an amazing job and it was her first day in the salon! My partners haircut looks great too! It takes a little longer since all their work is checked by an instructor, but I really enjoyed being part of the learning process. I'll be back in soon for a colour with Kat, thanks again!

I too had the worst experience.....freaking horrible...the young girl doing my hair was a sweetie (Jennifer) but the instructors where totally unprofessional....I booked for my roots and a cut it was at 1pm and after 4 hours I was told they have run out of time and can I come back to get it cut (a 2 day hair appointment??)...I told them I couldn't come back. The instructor became very rude and told me I was unreasonable??? are you kidding me.....the instructors could have given Jennifer a hand to speed things up...Jennifer offered to stay and finish but the instructors would not allow it and flat out refused got very snippy, eye rolling the whole 9 yards. Then told the young girl not to blow dry my hair (It is winter!!)......she did blow dry it anyways....I will NEVER go back there...the instuctors are appalling and nasty. Also the instructors were gossipiping and whispering about other clients in a negative manner..... I feel bad for the students they do not have enough insturctors or support for the amount of clients they are booking.....Horrible role models...It is ridiculous...PS Jennifer did do a good job on my roots...I have had Massages there and pedi's and they were great but NEVER again will I get my hair done there....HORRIBLE

So this 2nd time my spa person has not shown up For my appointment. .. I book a package today for me and my bf.... he took the day off for this.... And I get a call say the person just didn't show up... and they don't have anyone to cover for them.... but my bf can still come in and get his done.... that so awesome he can go but I cant.. this was for my bday.... and they only have ppl that can't do my servers ????.... Thank for nothin..... Dont book here... go to a really spa that hold ppl Accountable if the don't show up.... Not act like it's no big deal....

I do not recommend this place but not because of the students, but because of the instructors! I came in for balayage. I had overgrown dark blonde roots and light blonde hair. The lovely student and I made a plan to add blonde streaks into my roots and bring my roots into my blonde for a blended look. After doing the blonde streaks, TWO instructors told her to skip the darker streaks step, and put a toner over my whole hair. It turned the top of my roots yellow, didn't blend them into my hair at all, and somehow left my bottom roots their original colour. The student and I both knew it wasn't what I wanted and I did say that, but I didn't realize how bad it was until I got home. The instructor looked at my hair at the end (she would have seen more of it than I did- I couldn't see the back or sides) and was okay with it! I can't believe she sent me home like this. I asked for a refund because I now have to go to another salon (that's also horrified they let me leave like this) to get it fixed as I do not trust the school again at all but they won't refund me. I cannot trust the school to fix my hair when it was the instructors that changed the student's plan in the first place and their idea that caused this horrible hair. I would not recommend any student to learn under these instructors.

I was a little apprehensive when visiting a school to get my hair dyed and cut but after my experience at MC College, I will definitely be returning. My stylist Sam did a fantastic job! Along with her teacher, they advised me the best way to dye my already chemically treated hair. It’s been a week since I got my hair done and it still feels good. Thank you Sam and MC College!!

I went in expecting "what I paid for" a beginners quality colour and came out with professional looking colour I was very impressed with the service and I would definitely go back again. I also got a massage there once and it was fantastic I fealt greet after. I had no specific ailments so it was just a relaxation massage and it was wonderful. I always recommend people on a tight budget to try mc college.

I never go here unless it's for the basic of basics kind of services like a less than an inch trim (I like to keep my hair long) and a one colour nail fill. Occasionally I'll get a facial here which has always been a good experience too but if you want something that may require more detail and attention like a multicolor hair dye or some crazy nail designs I would suggest somewhere with staff that have years more experience than the STUDENTS at mc college. Other than that I love the results and the price. I'd also go more often if someone would actually pick up the phone when I call four times on the same day but I guess they're getting too busy now.

Mairead was very professional in the way she communicated with me in the chair; and did not dug into my scalp when shampooing like I have had in the past. Would recommend this young lady and the school for teaching her properly. Mairead should have a long and prosperous career as a stylist????????????????????????????????
