I moved to Kelowna from Ontario a couple months ago and have been reading reviews, browsing Instagram and asking around for the best hair stylist in the city. Ali from Kenali - Aveda was recommended to me and I couldn't be happier with my decision to visit him. I spent 45 minutes with Ali this morning and just had to write a glowing review after my incredible experience. First of all in terms of the customer service, you feel like royalty in his presence! You are the only client he is focusing on and really takes the time to listen to what you have to say and provide recommendations. In my case I had a terrible colouring experience a few months prior which really made my hair damaged, along with fine hair and various things like cowlicks and a widows peak. He was able to revive my hair, it now looks healthy, feels so soft and love the movement it has. He is extremely skilled in all different areas, travels all over the world and it really shows in the quality of his hair cut on me. He is also such a genuine person and it was a pleasure to spend my morning with him. He truly cares about his clients and it's not just about a hair style, but the ability to give people confidence and be happy. I can't wait to go back and visit him again! My hairdresser worked in this salon for a few years until she took a break to have a baby. I found the atmosphere to be very respectable and friendly. All of the girls that work at Poise are very sweet and the conversations in the salon were always respectable and clean. For me, that makes a big difference in my experience. They recently did a bit of a make over on the shop. It's very clean and bright. They have a lash bar and a tanning booth. The booth is easy to use, cleaned regularly and usually there is not wait. The only thing that is sometimes an issue is parking. Be sure to leave enough time to possibly park across the street at Starbucks, grab yourself a drink and walk over:)

Had a cut and color this past week for the first time at Kenali. Very relaxing chill experience. Definally felt 100 times better leaving then when I came in. Ali did a great job layering my thick hair, and love the black shiny color. He is very skilled at what he does and great company. He also pampers you with a lovely scalp massage. I wasn't going to do this because I dont like bashing people but It is going to cost me A LOT of money and take a lot of time to fix the damage that was recently done at this place (formally known as BLACK DIAMOND BEAUTY). I went in for microblading for the first time so I didn't know what to expect. I was a little thrown off that she wasn't wearing a mask and that she drew my brows freehand and that she didn't use any pain gel but i was too excited and just went with it. I kept saying, after she showed me the outline ,that it looked crazy...she assured me it would be fine after a week and i was stupid enough to believe her???? I messaged her back and told her i wasn't happy ...the ends are too high. She said, "Looks fine to me". Today I got them fixed (by someone else). It will be a long road until i look normal. Don't make the same mistake as me!

this is my fav hair salon in kelowna by far!!!!! this place is so clean, put together, gorgeously designed, and makes you feel super welcome, firstly. second off, the amazing woman that did my hair (i can’t remember her name, but if you know, you know ♥️) did an absolutely amazing job on my hair and made us feel so relaxed and she was very sweet. i first heard about AVEDA looking for hair salons online, and i was so impressed by all the great reviews and how wonderful the place seemed that i just had to go! i didn’t even have to show them a picture of what i wanted done to my hair (i had it dyed full head from dark brown ombre ish to plain black) and they nailed it!! it looks so good and im so pleased with this place and their prices too! simply an amazing hair salon and such caring workers, i would say best in kelowna. can’t wait to come back.

I can't recommend going to see Ali enough and I don't have enough words to describe just how much I love him and how fantastic and creative he is!! I have been to MANY salons throughout Kelowna and Vancouver and hands down Ali is the best. Not only does he thinks outside the box but he customizes your experience for what will suit you best. Ali truly is one of the kindest people I've met and he makes you feel so special during your appointment. Day one Ali told me if I wasn't happy he would do what it took to fix it (that hasn't happened cause he rocks!) but just knowing he stands by his work was very reassuring for me. Said he only had 5 minutes because another client was coming who never showed up. He had no booking. Instead of apologizing that I had to return he pounced on me at the door because I was late (less than 5 minutes). Guy’s got issues.

Look no further, you've found your home salon! Ali is not only professional and provide exceptional service and education on your specific type of hair but Ali energy ratiates passion for the art of hair styling. To top it off you feel so special sitting in his chair. I am not a fan of salons as it usually costs me well over $300 and 5 hours sitting someone's chair to make me more blonde then I naturally am (which is very blonde). I stated this upon meeting Ali and was met with total compassion and understanding. Ali's morals are strong and educationed me on my hair type. Giving me the best options for my skin tone and personality. I have NEVER had such a beautiful cut and colour! Done in an hour and saved me over $200 that I'd expected to spend. This is the first salon that I have been to that I could go in with no idea of what i wanted just knowing that I needed a hair cut. Ali was amazing. He was able to give me several suggestions right away on hair styles to match my beard and face shape. Also a style that supports low maintenance, but can also be taken out on the town with minimal work. One of my best hair cuts in a long time. The atmosphere of the salon was great, modern and classy while still being comfortable to be in. If your a man or woman your going to love this place. If you have ever had the experience of asking a hair stylist what cut would suit your face best, and had them stare back blankly in the mirror at you, and offer no substantive suggestions, then you need to see Ali. I had my hair highlighted, cut and added some curtain bangs by Sonja she did an amazing job, exactly what I asked her. However the sides of my bangs were not exactly the same thickness which I noticed afterwards which was disappointing, but she did such a good job and was so kind I will definitely be going back regardless.

I have seen Ali twice in the last week. Once for a hair colour and once for a cut. His salon is relaxing, peaceful and so pretty. He is so professional and he really took the time to listen to my concerns with my hair and talked me through what he felt would be best for me going forward. I had accidentally put my appointment time in my calendar wrong, but Ali was most gracious when he called to check on me and although I was about 10 minutes late he was able to get me in. I know his day is completely booked and I really appreciated him taking me even though it means he will have to play catch up for the next few hours. I was so nervous going to a new hairdresser but Ali really made me feel safe with his Covid safety protocols being strictly followed and the fact it was just the two of us in the salon made me feel very secure.
