I had asked for a balayage and was given spotty, patchy, streaks. My main stylist was Davis, but they all took turns on each client rather than sticking with one. The employees are nice so I feel bad leaving this review. However, I feel the need to try to save someone else the damage, money, and disappointment I experienced. What was done to my hair was a disaster and I had to go out the next day and pay someone else to fix it.

Today I went into Curious Hair Kelowna located in Orchard Park Mall. My hair was black and brown coming into the store and it was extremely faded. I came in asking for light brown hair with blonde ombré, i knew this was going to take a few times before it was the way i wanted. Adam did my hair for me, who is the owner, once my hair was done it was streaked with burnt orange colouring instead of an ashy blonde or even just a more yellow blonde, My bangs had orange in the, and the dye job was choppy, there was orange coming out of nowhere, my hair was like a halloween nightmare. My sister came in after to ask for our money back or if they could redo it, we really had to fight for them to do something about it. They finally said they would so we proceeded, a lady who is hair dresser there was helping, her name started with an “M” but I do not know what it was, she was terrific and she knew what she was doing however Adam would not listen to what she was saying and he did his own thing to my hair, I do not think he wanted to use anymore product on me since i was not paying. The lady had also told us that yesterday there was lots of complaints about Adam. What we decided to do with my hair was dye and tone the orange ombré to a nice ashy blonde and than get my black hair back to my dirty blonde colour but that did not happen, my hair ended up blacker than it was with burnt orange and green ombré, there is also still strips of orange in my bangs. They wee blow drying my hair and he said how it looked so good and i immediately said please stop blow drying my hair, i would like my money back. I am a really quiet person and extremely shy and do not speak my mind but seeing how badly my hair turned out i was over it, I was so frustrated and disappointed that i was shaking and nearly on the verge of tears. I do not recommend going here whatsoever, they should NOT be in business, at least Adam shouldn’t and he should really listen to his employees ideas and opinions even if he is the boss because he doesn’t have a clue what he is doing. I appreciate how they were both so kind during this process and I wish I would’ve gotten the lady to do my hair because i know for a fact it would’ve been lovely.

My experience at Curious with both Cheryl and Davis was amazing. I had balayage done and it was exactly was I asked for. I did not want it to be too light and they made sure it was just what I wanted. The atmosphere was fun and upbeat, and all of the staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend!

Absolutely loved the energy in this salon, The staff are amazing and know what they are doing. I have curly/frizzy hair that is hard to work with, I’ve never seen somebody be able to get my hair so smooth and silky. 10/10 experience and would definitely recommend to family and friends! Great atmosphere☺️ Had a great experience with Sophia and Adam.

Awful. My stylist Adam at Orchard Park Mall was incredibly rough with my hair and scalp, pulling extremely hard when brushing and blow drying. Not professional at all, and he did not wear a mask the whole time he cut my hair and INSISTED that I take mine off which was extremely uncomfortable. I asked for curtain bangs and he didn't even feather the bangs into my hair or add any sort of layering into the bangs, which made them look thick on blunt on my face. To top it all off he charged me $84 for a TRIM and STYLE. On the website it says a ladies cut is $55 + tax. I feel uncomfortable speaking my mind and regret not saying anything in the moment and wish I had asked for my money back, so I guess this is a learning experience for me. Will not be going back to this salon.

Curious Salon is my new "Go-To" for all hair services! The owner was very kind & welcoming. The space was clean & tidy and the clients were all attended to even though the staff were busy. What stood out for me most about this experience was my stylist Marley, she is truly talented. She had both the knowledge & skill to complete a stunning balayage (without damaging the hair!) & a flattering cut. I was all done within a few short hours. I am totally pleased & very impressed with both the salon & her fabulous work. Thanks Again!

Sheryl did a great job with hairstyling and colour. I was happy with the result. How howeverer, a gentleman working there made me feel very uncomfortable. He made a lot of negative comments about my hair. Very judgemental and he did this infront of other clients. Alsonot happy with the hair product opurchased at the end. Not going back there again.

Curious hair is the best! I was actually the very first customer here in Kelowna B.C at the mall! I originally came in because of the name and I'm so glad I did go inside where I met Adam! He took my blonde hair to a whole nother level I was so happy with I'll always go to him! Also how amazing the prices are ( you certainly get what you pay for) and I'm a single mother on a very tight budget! amazing results not to mention they are very friendly fun talented down-to-earth group of people on the staff! Another amazing experience with David Orchard cut, color and partial streaking. I have followed David Orchard over the last 11years to do my hair. Not only is he creative and knows his stuff but he brings his price wining personality to create the ultimate experience. I had him and his wife Cheryl (also a great stylist) tag teaming together blow drying my hair to get me to my golf game on time!!!! To much fun! Highly recommend both David and Cheryl!

Today I got my hair cut, highlighted, and styled at Curiosity, and I can honestly say nobody has ever done as wonderful of a job as Adam and his apprentice, Sophia. Their hospitality was compassionate, personable, humble and super fun! They treated me with care as they educated me on the right products to use for my hair-type, took gentle approach to my delicate strands (even deep conditioned it out of generosity), shared genuine conversations and their amenities of refreshments, and at-salon back and foot massage while I waited for my highlights to develop! Easy to say I'm now a loyal customer and I'd send anyone who wants a quality treatment that doesn't hurt the wallet. Thanks so much you guys! <3

Went to purchase products and was told I needed a haircut by 3 different people. The man told me my hair was damaged and that he could fix it. Super rude and not professional as I wasn't there to get a cut. The salon wasn't busy which suggests that business was slow and maybe there is a reason for that. I have never been talked to like that about my hair and will never go back to this business. Even the women at the till said I always tell my clients not to listen to this hair dresser and his rude comments

I went in today for a hair cut and was welcomed by Adam who was working alone but still managed to squeeze me in which was great! But once I was in the chair and requested what I was looking for, which was short, medium and long layers, thinned out, and my face framed. I showed him pictures of what I was hoping for. Adam tried really hard to get me to agree to also getting highlights which I was not wanting Adam then said he wasn’t going to do any layers because it wouldn’t look good. He cut my hair at one even length, did a little bit of texturizing and cut my bangs down to chin and said he was done. I was then charged 84.00 for an unwashed (because I already washed it before heading in), blow dried, hair cut that I did not ask for. I will not be going back nor will I be recommending them. Lesson learned.

I have gone to this business since their second week in business. I had been without a hairdresser after losing mine after 17 years. The first time I had Adam do my hair I was so thrilled to have found them . Just before everything was closed because of covid Adam cut my hair a little shorter than usually. I ended up having 3 different hair styles during the next almost 3 months as it grew out and I loved them all. I could go on forever about the great colors and service. Marnie has been with him from the start and again a great hairdresser and a lovely girl. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a visit to this lovely little salon.

Such a huge waste of money. I booked a cut and highlight online and it said it would be $190. When I went and finished my appointment, I was charged almost $400 and I have no idea why. I called the store twice to try to figure out why I was charged so much money and nobody would tell me anything, they said they would get my stylist to call me when he was back and he never did. I wasn’t told that I was getting anything done to my hair that would be an additional charge, nothing was done with my consent. I’m a university student, I booked a $190 service because that’s what I could afford. Completely ridiculous.
