I phoned a week in advance to check to make sure my son - who had never gotten his hair cut before- would be okay to come in. The lady on the phone assured me it would be fine. I even explained that he would get upset but I would be there to help. 1 week of preparation of talking to my son and getting him ready ( he has Autism, so it was important for him to know ever step) When we arrived at Melon, not even a 1 minute of getting him settled in the owner kicked us out! We were being disruptive to everyone in the salon and she told us we were dramatizing him. Go to Tommy Guns!!! My son loved it there and they welcomed him with open arms and understanding.

Highly recommend you see Jeremiah he has been a stylist for many years an has even worked at Suki's if you know anything about salons that is a good one he has intricate details in his highlights an pays attention to detail on all his cuts an styles he did my cut an I loved it could never find anyone who cut it like that .

I see Jeremiah for my color and cut. He is meticulous and our conversation is always nice. I like catching up with him about superhero movies and sharing stories about our Aboriginal culture. I often bring my lap top to watch movies with him and his comments are always insightful and funny. He is perfect for me because it never feels like forced conversation. Even if I'm quietly watching my movie it is never awkward. Always the best with him!

I found Melon approximately one year ago after searching for a new salon. What I loved from the moment I walked in the door the very first time is the bright, clean, and open interior. This salon is spotless! But more than that was the positive energy in the space--everyone is friendly and engaging. You can't help but feel good in that salon. Robin has been my stylist for about a year now and she is the most attentive and detailed stylist I've ever had and has assembled a terrific team of stylists and estheticians. I love going to Melon! Highly recommend!

I love this salon! The atmosphere is comfortable and airy. Robin is amazing! She is a master with coloring and is so skilled with shaping super thick hair (like mine) Every time I leave, I feel amazing, relaxed and love my style and color. Prices are reasonable for the high quality services you receive. After living in Kamloops for 3 years, and having terrible experiences at high end salons, I am so happy and confident that I will always walk out with a smile, and looking forward to my next visit.

I found Jeremiah by posting on FB looking for hairstylist recommendations and his sister shared his name and the salon he is at. I. Freakin’. Love. Jeremiah. He has a relaxing vibe with an attention to detail that makes you feel like your time in his chair matters to him. I also get great haircuts from Jeremiah! My teen son also sees Jeremiah and gets really good trendy cuts! As for Melon Salon...it is so CLEAN! I am a germaphobe and feel totally comfortable here. The energy is good, too. Robyn, salon owner, has gone out of her way to share information/experiences with my son, who is a hair student. Robyn and Jeremiah have both taken an active interest in my son’s school/career choice and provided great feedback - including noticing that he is coming out of his shell. I Booked an appt for my mom who is from out of town, expecting the appt to only be approximately an hour, to and hour and a half at thr most. The appt ended up being over 3hrs long. And in the end it wasn't what she wanted. The stylist barely cut it and didn't give the style she'd requested. I would not recommend this hair studio.

I have been a client of Robyn's for more than 10 years. I used to regularly drive or fly to Vancouver to have my hair done by her team at Pure Studio. When she decided to move to Kamloops and open a salon here, I was thrilled! She has a great eye for colour and I receive countless complements on my highlights and cut. When she is unavailable, Jeremiah has done my hair a few times, both cut and colour. He did an amazing job and I would highly recommend both. Their salon is professional and so accommodating.

Jeremiah is a well-mannered, respectful person. He has 20+ years' experience working in the hair industry and has worked at higher end salons like Suki's in Vancouver. Jeremiah is meticulous to detail and is very good at reading hair. He always does the best he can with what he's got to work with; many people turn to him to fix the damage they've inflicted upon themselves in coloring or cuts (speaking from observation and experience :D ). I have very coarse hair and have had the privilege of having my hair done by Jeremiah both cuts and perms, my favorite being the spiral curl. I know other people who have had their hair cut and or colored by Jeremiah and have been very satisfied with his work. Jeremiah is very patient; he has cut both my grandsons hair; this was a challenge as it is difficult to get them to sit still for any period of time. Jeremiah has such a calm energy that my youngest son who has autism trusted him enough to let him give him the hairstyle he's always wanted...Goku!!! I would highly recommend Jeremiah to anyone who is looking to get their 'do done right at a good price! The Melon Hair Lounge has such great stylists and atmosphere!

Hello Melon!!! As an active member in the beauty industry for more then 40 years, and a member of Beauty Council, I like to pop into salons and shops all over Canada and check out what they have to offer, and review them!! Even if I'm not impressed with the salon or spa I give constructive reviews as every salon or store for that matter had bad days! So here is my review for you! Wow! I was very impressed with this salon! Upon walking up to the salon, the parking lot was clean and there was no garbage. I looked around the parking lot to other storefronts and noticed garbage and debris all over the place. You can tell the staff here keep the outside of the building clean. When I entered I was greeted with a smile and a very warm welcoming! I immediately noticed the bright and fun wallpaper and the floor to ceiling mirrors! Everything was so bright and fun I felt very happy to be in the salon! After being greeted I talked to the woman behind the counter in regards to my hair. She answered all my questions with great responses and took the time to explain her methods. She even offered me a coffee or tea, even tho I had explained I was just checking out the salon and had some questions! I quickly took a look around the shop and noticed how clean and tidy everyone and everything was. I even saw another stylist cleaning the hair from the floor for a co-worker who was washing her clients hair. I noticed the nail desks behind the hair stations and they were clean and tidy, no dust or implements left laying around. The pedicure station was absolutely Adorable with bright green basins to match the bright green decor! After looking at the price list I was given a business card and was told to call or come in any time to book an appointment! Furthermore- this salon is a "Green" salon. They recycle everything they use in this salon. From the paper, to foils, down to the hair everything gets recycled or desposed of properly!! Absolute fantastic and I give you two very big thumbs up! What an example you have set for other salons!! I will be booking an appointment at this salon for the works!!! Keep up the wonderful work And salon ladies!! I am very impressed!!!

I wouldn't recommend this place at all I wouldn't even give it a 1 star.. I asked and showed a picture of what I wanted and they did the opposite completely chopped my hair...for the money this place sucks will never go back and I would never get Jeremiah to cut ur hair
