I had a terrible experience here. I asked for a pretty simple cut that I have had done before and explained it pretty well, but my stylist must not have understood cause she did not do what I ask and though out my hair cut didn’t ask any questions like “is this the length you want off?” or “ is here good to cut?”. Questions like these can really help the stylist do a good hair cut that the customer wants but my stylist did nothing. I even returned later in the day to get it cut a bit shorter cause it was just soooo bad and that didn’t even help. I am disappointed and would not recommend.

Went into the first choice hair cutters on the north shore, in Kamloops. The girl doing my hair started giving me aditude about apparently me having nits, but I have done everything in my power to get rid of them. When I said something about that, she yelled so the whole store could hear that I had nits, and apparently I gave her aditude. I only gave her aditude after she was belittling and embarrassing me, in front of everyone in the store. I wont even THINK about coming back EVER, and I suggest you don't go either! This has been the worst experience I've ever had. I've even gone to get my hair done by the trainees at norkam and they have way more professional aditude then the lady that yelled at me.

While i go to first choice haircutters on tranquille daily, there's ONE woman hair stylist that i do not care to return to ever.... Today she was sporting a plaid green miniskirt, studded belt and black shirt, with long florescent red hair. She was rather rude, and made me feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable with how she talked down to me. She wasn't very courteous and could practice smiling/people skills ALOT more. I called in the night before to have my son and i come in for a hair cut/style, and quite literally got scolded as if i were a little child not once, but TWICE when i asked if my son was going to be seen still because no one was taking him back to cut his hair... "well why did you put his name down?" "i did last night..." "we don't do appointments it's walk in only i told you this already!" "i'm aware of that, but the lady did not tell me that when i called in last night, i didn't know this til you told me this morning." she literally huffed and walked over to put him in the system. I truly hope i don't get paired with her again if i return

Most horrific haircut I have ever gotten. I asked for the most simple cut. Clean up my neck to the hairline, clean up the wings around my ears and trim the ends. She buzzed my neck way past the hair line and completely buzzed the side of my head. When I saw what she did with my sides I asked quickly what did you do? She then asked do you want me to stop and I calmly said well you cant really leave one side bald and the other hair. Didn't notice how bad the neck was until I got home and now I know why she didn't bring out the mirror. She screwed up her screw up. I am scared to look at the ends. Some people should not be allowed to cut hair. Cassidy was her name. Now I have 3 options. Wear a hat for the next 6 months straight, shave my head or hope someone makes another Mad Max movie and get cast as an Outlander. A simple sorry does not fix something this bad

I have very thick hair and it grows very quickly so I cant always afford an expensive cut elsewhere. My favourite stylist is Cassandra, extremely professional about ensuring you get exactly what you come for, and she's wonderful with communicating her own ideas to you if she thinks you may like another cut style. Im adventurous with my hair so I let her cut it as she pleases once I tell her how long or short I prefer it. She is also an absolute wizard with colours, and I always get compliments before I even leave the salon chair with her handiwork. In the eight years I have gone to Cassandra for a haircut, I have never had a bad cut from her. Im so happy she is at First Choice so more people can easily access a true professional in her trade and recieve a high quality cut and colour service for incomparable pricing. The other ladies at this location are so friendly too!

They took me right away, the stylist asked what I was looking for and when I gave her my description she found pictures in one of their books so we could discuss details. She was great with checking on how I was liking the length and communicated with me the while while on how I wanted it. It felt like a team effort. They also have a 7 day guarantee, she told me if in the next 7 days I play with it and decide I don't like something or want something changed I could come in and they would change it no charge! I wish I had an extra fiver to tip, I felt the $2.20 left of my $20 bill was an inadequate tip for the service I recieved

This is my place to get my hair cut. Always friendly and professional staff. Soon as you walk in you are greeted and made an appointment, usually within a few minutes. During this pandemic I feel this is the way to go. Good haircut as they are very responsive to what you want and if anything is missed or you want to change just go back and it's taken care of. Watched the staff clean and disinfect before asking me to sit. Overall great!

Tiffany is by far the best stylist I have ever had. She saves the day when I impatiently see someone else or color my hair with friends. She has fixed mullets, bad bangs, hirrible layers, cheetah spots, skunk tracks to completely wrong color. She looks at me, fixes my hair and sends me home feeling great each time and doesn't take ever penny I have. You would think I have learned my lesson and wait for her but 5 years later and she is still fixing and helping me without horrible judgements that I get at the super expensive salons.

I went in for a way over due haircut due to covid19 and was so looking forward to manageable hair but instead I got a total hack job. My bangs were so crooked and cut so short that I can't fix them myself until they grow out. The cut itself looks like a 6year old took scissors to my hair. My mother got her hair cut here today, and the girl looked at the picture for half a second handed it back and proceeded to cut her hair Incredibly short! No only did this girl not say hello or make conversation, she was constantly looking around and chatting with everyone else. Not very welcoming at all. Hair looked nothing like the picture at all, did not ask if the length was OK before she started cutting away. As she is supposed to be a professional my mother gave her the benifit of the doubt. After she mentioned that it's much shorter than she hoped for. The girl did not offer and sort of comfort nor offer to fix it somehow to make my mother more comfortable. Instead she argued saying it was longer than the hair in the picture was then did not say thank you as we left. Will not be going back!! We will be contacting the management

I went to FC by Walmart in Kamloops couple yrs ago after had an expensive cut elsewhere and i just needed a quick maintenance trim. I came out with a bowl cut! So bad! Howeer, since time and money are a factor w a girl who's hair grows very fast, i tried the Valleyview local after friends recommended. I love them there! Amazing cuts and great service! Just cut 10 in off and got trendy asymmetrical undercut pixie and Shannon nailed it! Without any major direction from me as i waant totally sure exactly what i wanted. Go to Valleyview they rock.

I’ve had my hair done here in the past and it was good. However, today the lady cutting my hair missed several pieces so I had a many chunks that were much longer then the rest. It wasn’t at all straight and looks bad. Overall left with a wonky cut that I’ve been trimming since I don’t want people seeing it how it was left.

Cut off lots of hair today- and it’s the most awesome haircut!! There is like 1000 ways to do my hair and they all are easy but each way looks so different. I think her name was Cassandra and she was Awesome.Also In June for my Wedding I went there to get my hair styled- I got it curled and braided with beautiful waterfall braids - it was perfect, I think her name was Bella.This is the best place to go if you want to be happy when you walk out in my opinion! Plus I went at 530 after I got off work and didn’t have to leave work early! (Made an appointment)
