The service was fast, I'll give you that. It was my first time there today and liked that it was clean. I had a full set of acrylic done. The nail tech I had seemed to do a sloppy job of matching shapes and lengths to each hand. And the shape wasn't as I expected. I've attached photos below of how different my thumb nails looked and I just wasn't impressed. The lady at the front was very very sweet though!

Just had nails done today for attending a wedding. We wanted a manicure and pedicure. We ended up being $75 each of us for a pedicure and a manicure that changed into just getting gel nails with no cleaning or grooming of the hands or massage or anything. I left the salon with dirty finger nails still and gel polish over top. I was also a sink and wash my own hands ! They talked us into getting a manicure and just getting the gel polish like it was a deal. But my hands are still dirty and we walked out of there paying good money with missing services. It was frustrating and everything was sort of an extra cost.

I was introduced to excel nails by my friend. The first time I was there, it was the guy who made my nails and it did not even last up to a week, I tried the 2nd time and the girl I think Karen or Veronica (they look alike) did a good job. I decided to book another appointment and requested that I do not want the guy to fix my nails, I went in and he was the one who ended up doing them. I was very upset plus the pedicure section with one of the ladies was wack. They are friendly people in the store but I dont think I will be going there again. As they are more of getting u all rushed since they are very busy, than doing a good job as a result of the fact that they have lots of customers. Therefore your nails end up not properly done. There was no apologies or anything, it was a bad experience for me.

My friends came here yesterday and weren’t very satisfied. They asked for gel extensions but instead they got an acrylic base with a gel polish. That is not what they wanted and I feel that the staff working at excel should pay more attention to what there paying customers want. They also got charged for gel extensions when they basically got acrylics. The nail technicians don’t talk to you they talk to each other, and when you have paying customers that can trust you enough to work on their nails you should start a conversation. One of friends cuticles did not get pushed back because they apparently didn’t need to. But if that is what your customer asks then that he what you should give them. The surface of their nails was bumpy not smooth and some didn’t get a top coat. All I have to say is that I do not recommend excel for these reasons.

This shop is run by the sweetest people I have ever met. It is a family owned business and from the time you enter the door to the time you leave you'll feel like a part of the fam! So cool :) I love this place because they are clean, offer a quick service and are reasonable in price. If you are looking for the ultimate luxury spa experience this place is not for you. You get an extremely discounted price on all services in exchange for a good service and quality. If you come in with reasonable expectations for the price you are paying, this place will blow your mind. I love Excel Nails and would highly recommend it as a local business. As an added bonus, the lil girls do wicked nail art and they tell jokes - I dig it! Thanks.

Initially walked in with an open mind, I went in for my appointment, and was taken by one of the employee's to do a pedicure. She done an good job, just simple and quick. My only concern is cleaning the tub while the client is still in the chair. That step should be left until the client is finished. Afterwards I got a manicure, I waited over 30+ minutes, and finally someone came and started putting tips on, as well as acrylic. I booked for a set of gel nails. I found the male who was working on my nails to be VERY distracted, talking with other coworkers and looking around the room, I tried asking for shorter length, and he got irritated with me, for him not paying attention to what he was doing. 2 stars for timing, lack of communication between managers to employees, and too many distractions.

I love the ladies at Excel Nails. They always do an incredible job. My nails always look beautiful, they have an amazing attention to detail and their colour selection is extensive. When I recently broke the tip of my nail, I called them the next day and they scheduled me in right away. They repaired it the day I called and they did it at no cost, which I was not expecting. Great service, no complaints. Friendly staff and clean salon. I've tried gels at other salons in Kamloops and find the gel they use here strong and lasts well. Plus you're in and out quickly. Coming from a big city it's nice to find the same quality in a smaller city.

First time I had Linda was great then it went down hill when I asked for details she offered something I didn't want and then did it anyway and didn't ask me what I wanted but ask my friend what I wanted so then she asked me what shape I wanted I told her a round and she went oh you want a coffin once again not what I wanted and then couldn't do the detail design so instead did a spay on design the wrong way it was supposed to look like a fish tail or lotus flower and I got antlers instead the pedicures are really nice and the polish on those are amazing the younger girls I was not happy with my acrylics they were different sizes and warped gel polish with very thin layer and rushed job so they didn't have time to do a good job almost all fell off after a week not going back for nails

The worst experience I have ever had getting my nails done. The guy working there barely asked about my nails and when he did it was about the length and then once he shortened them he didn't let me see them again. My nails turned out to be not what I asked for and completely misshaped and at all different lengths. Also when I left the store five minutes later my nail had already chipped. I went back into the store and confronted him about how I disliked my nails he actually got mad at me and raised his voice. He also refused to give me my money back and when he was told to fix my chipped nail he seemed rather unimpressed. And finally when I said I was not coming back there his response was "that's okay with me" in a rude tone. Overall an awful experience.

I am new to Kamloops and had a surprisingly hard time finding a salon that did acrylic nails. On my first appointment I was a little nervous as expected but immediately that was all put to rest as I was greeted by a room full of smiles and laughter. It didn't take long to find out that most of the staff are family working together with synergy and respect. I've been back several times now each time I look forward to my time with them for about a week ahead... Everytime I go, I get fantastic service and walk out with a product that I not only proudly display but also complimented on them everywhere I go. I even had one set where the gel polish didn't cure quite right and when I called it was like an old friend on the other end of the line that wanted to help and they not only got me in on my schedule, but showed an eagerness to make sure my experience was the same as if I was paying. I love you guys and I beat the drum for you every time I can!!!!! Bri

I have been to this Nail Salon various times, and the first time was the best. She did my toenails perfectly, and they lasted over 4 weeks. My second time was not as good. They chipped on the same day, and cut my toenail so short it hurt. My third was the worst. She had filed the edge of my skin, got polish on the skin, and all in all did not do a good job. I will not be using names, but I do not plan on coming back.

I've never had a worse set of nails. I shouldnt have gone here. I dont live in kamloops but I frequent it often for family visits. I've been to another place in kamloops several times and always blown away, but this time I couldnt get in there so I tried this place based on decent reviews. 1. Appointments dont matter. you sit and wait until the person before you is rushed thru their set. My set took less than 45 mins for a new set. that's awfully fast and shows the quality. 2. The table tops are nasty. Idk how people dont care more about this. Theres nail dust and nail clippings and old acrylic drips everywhere. I'm willing to take a guess the tools are reused over and over. I should have left when I saw this. I watched one girl rinse the pedicure tub out with just hot water in between clients. Yuck. 3. The weird UV light desk you sit at for 15 mins after your acrylic nails are done is weird. Seems like a cheap out way to finish your clients. Sets would look alot nicer with some gel polish clear coat and a 2 min uv lamp. 4. Be forewarned this is one of those places that charges whatever they want for whatever they want and your total will likely be higher than you imagined. Ask for a 2nd color or 1 stone? Dont expect to be told about the cost until the set is done and suddenly your paying 15 more than you expected. 5. Every concern I had along the way got met with an angry rebuttle, not even an ounce of care to make sure I was happy. The nails got filed way shorter than the original cut and when I brought it up he goes "this is the length you said okay to when I cut. This is protocol". The white paint from the airbrush was left all over my hands and when I brought it up while paying they go "oh it's no big deal that will wash off". Is cut corners not a big deal? Why would anyone want to leave with sloppy white paint all over their fingers when they are paying for the service. Do it right and do it all the way through. 6. Dont even start me on the faded French or baby boomer style. They do it by airbrush and painted half my nail white. Doesnt look like French at all. 7. its been exactly 7 days since I got my nails done here and 4 completely came off and the rest were lifting so bad it barely took any effort for the rest to pop off. I know several people in kamloops and theyve all since advised me not to go here. They all say "their staff are super nice but the nails are really bad" and I couldnt agree more. Wish I asked them prior to going but trusted the reviews. I can easily say these are the worst nails I've ever had.

All the wrong vibes!????Their customer service needs a lot of improvement. The receptionist was friendly, but the managing staff has a ways to go..???? The woman in charge (giving orders) was extremely UNFRIENDLY which made for the most uncomfortable atmosphere. For that reason alone, I would never go back. ???? The girls working on my feet did an alright job. They had trouble with the simple design I asked for. But I'm gracious enough to let things go that aren't of major significance. Lucky for them I wasn't finicky. If you're a perfectionist, steer clear. Also note: they are so busy and rushed, it will100% effect the quality of service they provide. The girl working on me didn't have enough time to finish my pedicure, she was ordered to ditch me..to which a second girl had to step in and had to now try and recreate the design the first girl had done..???? Needless to say, it was a mess! And this time, I did say something. On top of that I still had nail polish smudged on the edges of my toe. Sloppy job... So my advice to potential customers: if you want a drive thru type of service, this is the perfect place for you. ???? Because you WILL get what you pay for. And also note: they don't accept credit cards! Which would have been really helpful information to know beforehand! ???? And would have avoided awkward interactions at the till. Fix it, Excel Nails! ???? Put up a big sign. And/or train your receptionists to let customers know who book in advance or customers who walk in. Just fix it. Don't wait until the end, and in turn put your valued customers in an awkward position.

Paid $50 for shellac polish, 7 days later they're chipped and discolored. Never had this problem before and I'm not rough on my nails either as I like yo preserve them and normally keep the same polish for 4 weeks. :(

I was looking forward to my visit here this weekend for some pretty gel nails. As soon as I sat down I explained what I was after - little tip extension for added length, nails not too long, requested they use the gel sculpt sparingly on my nail as I still wanted a somewhat natural look, and I asked for an oval rounded shape. I also asked for a mini manicure to tidy and moisturise my cuticles before the gel application but was told no as apparently I didn’t need it. My nail technician was Linda. She seemed nice enough at the start, but I noticed her attention to detail was really sloppy. I made a couple of friendly hints in the hope that she might get it but she always seemed to have an excuse or reason as to why I wasn’t happy and became rude when I expressed concern. I was horrified, I felt like walking out a couple of times but it was already late afternoon and i wouldn’t have been able to get my nails fixed anywhere else before closing. So I decided to stay and just hoped it would get better. Sadly that wasn’t the case. After about the forth or fifth time of telling her that I was not happy, she just continued on with my nails until I had to put my foot down. She called her colleague to talk to me and I relayed everything I had told Linda at the start. I was then told they didn’t offer manicures (odd because I thought I was in a nail salon?) and that my cuticles were just dry. I didn’t know what to say, the issues were so obvious. It was so close to the end so I sat there for a minute or so and waited for Linda to finish. I was raging inside at this point and didn’t want to cause a scene in front of the other customers, so I calmly got up and walked over to the front desk. I was handed the card machine and told to pay. I again expressed my disappointment and made it clear that I was not going to pay until I was happy. They demanded that I pay, and I firmly refused. I wouldn’t expect to pay for an awful dish at a restaurant or pay for a damaged or broken item in a store, so what gives somebody the right to give a god awful service or nail treatment and demand payment?? The two nail technicians who I was speaking with at this point said my nails looked normal and nice and that they only needed some hand cream (but even if I think it may have helped, I wasn’t offered any). On closer inspection of my nails they concluded that I needed a touch up of gel polish. I disagreed, my nails already looked so loaded with polish, were pointed at such an unnatural angle, and looked a complete mess. If they were going to do anything it would be removing and starting again. Since they didn’t have time to fix my nails they have asked me to go back next week (we’ll see what happens) They still weren’t happy that I didn’t want to pay, and when I refused they told me I had to pay at least half upfront. Again, I said no and explained that the only way I was going to pay was once my nails were redone AND once I was happy with them. The “free of charge” offer to touch up my nails didn’t even make sense to me. I appreciate them asking to try to fix my nails by adding more polish, however through the demands for money it was very clear to me that that’s all they cared about. For these reasons, I can not recommend this salon. My nails are now aching like hell, and they look awful. My partner told me that it looks like I have weird looking Dracula nails. I’m completely embarrassed by them. Frustratingly, my regular salon couldn’t fit me in, and now I wish I had waited til they could!

Pros: very clean, modern, and large spa. Cons: pedicure was very mediocre and lack luster. Colour was not consistently applied and definitely should have had another coat. Manicurist was very rough, acrylic nails were filed unevenly and gel polish was not applied well. No massage or moisturizer applied, which I would expect for a $60 manicure.

Unfortunately the address on the website for Excel Nails has the address listed incorrectly as 230 - 450 Landowne. As a result I had difficulty finding them. I tried to call 4 times to get better directions and let them know I would be a couple minutes because late I could not find them but no one answered. When I arrived I was 10 minutes late - they had already given my 2 hour appointment away and would not help me. The individual I spoke with was rude and would not accept that I had tried to call even when shown the phone and the incorrect address on their website. She advised they did not have a website... this also is incorrect. I was very disappointed and would not recommend them to anyone especially during the holiday season when finding time and even getting an appointment is challenging... VERY DISAPPOINTED DON"T USE THIS BUSINESS THEY ARE NOT KIND OR UNDERSTANDING AND DON'T ACCEPT THEIR OWN INCORRECT WEBSITE AND INCORRECT ADDRESS FOR A REASON FOR BEING LATE :(

Decided to try again. As maybe a language barrier/misunderstanding? Called and booked and happy they could get me in in ten minutes. Manager called back. No one there will provide me service as I’m “never happy” (I’m pretty sure on a previous review I stated “usually a good experience but last pedi was not.” So after two less than stellar experiences, I’M NOT ALLOWED BACK! Apparently if you’re unhappy a couple times they just don’t want you back. Interesting business model. Had I had a better experience I would have updated my review to reflect that. Update: Went back for another pedi. Told them please DO NOT cut out my ingrown toenails. Just cut them straight across. Guess what, they did it anyway. Toes hurt for a week. My daughter got her nails done as she often does. They typically last three weeks. This time they lasted one week. Excel’s response? 25% off next time. Not good enough. I’m done with Excel. Usually a good experience, but last pedi was disappointing. May or may not try again.

Because I honestly can’t compare the service to anywhere else. Not only are the staff friendly and welcoming, but they make me feel like family. The atmosphere is positive and fun! They have these amazing massage chairs that you get to relax in while you enjoy the pedicure! Sometimes I think I go just for the massage. ???? The girls are well skilled at their jobs and take pride in their work. Some of the art designs that they have done on my toenails is amazing!!! The girls in this shop do a beautiful job on my nails every time I go. They offer many colors of polishes, and designs to put on your nails. They have massage chairs and the ladies do a really good job on Total Foot Care. I have even seen men come in there and get pedicures and manicures. Not a great experience. For the acrylic fill, she basically removed my polish and topped up the acrylic minimally. I showed her a picture and she didn’t follow it at all. When she made the design she immediately went over it with the top coat and messed up the design and only repaired half of it until I asked her to fix the remainder and then she was irritated. The nail lengths were not consistent and the nail shapes were not even. I won’t be back.

After talking to a licensed tech at another salon, I'm realizing now that every time I've paid for gel nails, which I've done so many times at this establishment, they've just charged me extra money but still gave me acrylic nails! And any time I've come in and gotten a fill they grind the nail so far down they start hitting my natural nail which causes me so much pain. You can see the red marks through the filled nails after they ground it down. Totally unacceptable to falsely advertise and up charge for something that no one's getting! Wish I could get back all the money I've wasted here :(

I’ve been here multiple times and have always gotten a full acrylic nail set. both times my nails have been awful. they were uneven misshapen and crooked.

The staff are friendly, gentle, and help you choose designs, shades, and trendy styles when in need. The prices are great for the quality of the product and are more than accommodating with their bookings.

Would give 0 stars if possible!! Asked for gel nails but just got gel polish. The nail tech removed my previous gel but didn’t apply the new one. Very sloppy work, not professional for sure!! They don’t know how to file nails, not satisfied with the shape and length as they cut too short and they’re uneven. 2 days in and my nails are already chipping off. If I just wanted nail polish, I could do it myself at home and that too way better than they did. They keep talking to each other in their language while providing the service and get distracted a lot. When called in and told that it’s disappointing, the lady on phone said you got what you asked for. Basically paid for nothing and getting my nails redone after 2 days from somewhere else. The least they could do was ask if they can fix it somehow or apologize for the experience maybe? This was the first and last time at excel nails. Would not recommend to anyone.

Needed to get gel removed. They were so rushed they scrubbed it and pulled it off my nails, leaving more damage than necessary. You can see streaks just from their half fast filing. They didn’t even offer moisturizer.

I’ve been to crystal nails for a while in sahali and was super disappointed , so I tried excel and I’m so happy I did . The girls are so friendly and pay such close attention to detail . My nails where perfect . Much better service . Will continue to go here
