As an Asian with the darkest hair possible, it’s really hard to find a hairstylist that knows how to keep me blonde, but Chianne always knows what to do! She’s lovely, patient and is always goes the extra mile. 5 stars and much love! ❤️

I have been twice, each with a different stylist. I first saw Jessica who gave me a great cut. She was mindful of my hair type and styling trends. I asked for a different style of bangs than usual and was unsure about them; she suggested I think about it and then pop back if I didn't like them and she would restyle them free of charge. I next saw Kirsten for a color. I showed her some pictures of colors and styles that I liked and she did a great job of combining those ideas and creating her own look. I loved the result! I don't think that enough time was booked for what needed to be done, and there wasn't any room to go over the time slot (on my part) so she really hustled her butt to get everything done, and I don't think that affected the quality of her work at all. She was very kind and made sure that I was happy with what was going on, and it was clear that she really cares for the quality of her work and about making choices that damaged my hair as little as possible. Misc details: timely processes, punctual, tasty tea, eclectic vibe of salon, let me exchange a conditioner that I wasn't happy with

ChiAnne did an amazing job with my hair! My hair's wavy/curly (depending on it's mood ????) and the salon I went to for my previous haircut just didn't really know how to work with it and I ended up with very chunky and unflattering layers. Luckily ChiAnne is very experienced and knows exactly how to work with this texture of hair. And she was very attentive and made sure she didn't do anything I didn't want or cut too much off. She also showed me a quick an easy way to style my hair. It's almost a month later since I got my hair cut and I'm still loving it! Also, the location of the salon is very convenient if you're taking transit.

Not the salon for asian hair. I had come in a long time ago in September 2019. I had not known much about hair dying because I had never got it done before. The first time I went Jordanne was amazing and I loved it! It was a beautiful dark colour and amazing tone. The second time I wanted to go a little lighter. Now looking back at it she was in such a rush she didn’t properly even tone me. There were over 4+ different colours in my hair. Not in a good way whatsoever!! Once I got home I saw how bad it was. Had to spend almost $200 trying to fix if with another stylist!! I thought I would write this review if any individual with asian hair is thinking of coming here. Or anyone that wants their time considered. Photos are for reference

I have very long, curly, dry hair that is often difficult to maintain. Jordan has completely changed my life and I will never trust anyone else with my hair again. She not only gave me a fantastic cut but also provided me with so much knowledge on how to maintain the specific type of hair that I have. Renee is amazing! She listens intently and makes sure you leave with exactly what you want. I have sent some of my "pickiest" friends to her and she is yet to disappoint. I made the mistake, after my second child was born and it was tough to make the trip downtown, to go to someone else out of convenience. Eventually I made my way back to Renee in desperate need of a colour correction. Again, she did an awesome job and I left with exactly what I wanted. Worth the trip downtown.

They do not know how to work with blonde hair. My hair was damaged beyond repair to the extend that it broke in many places. They also tried to hide the breakage during styling rather than be honest about it. I do not recommend this salon. Even when talking with the owner she was less than helpful.

This place is always saving me!! Twice now if made the mistake of making a short notice booking at a random salon & end up with totally awful hair. Two years ago I did this and called bobby pin. Renee the owner took me in right away and not only corrected the mistakes the other stylist made but did it better then I would have originally asked for. Again this week I ended up with a bad dye job & thought I’d call bobby pin again. Jordan picked up and although bobby pin is usually all booked up, she got me in right away and did an amazing job correcting my colour. It’s safe to say I won’t be doing anymore short notice bookings & I’ll be coming to bobby pin from now on. They truly care about their clients and their happiness. Thanks girls

Keep in mind: I had Asian black hair and this salon sees Caucasian hair more often than Asian hair. Had a balayage by Jessica in August. I had black hair and I asked if I could get it lightened to maybe like a light ash brown. She said it would be too light and that was understandable. The whole process was around 3 hours and she was pleasant and made conversation. At the time I had a bad haircut and I told her I tried to fix it (which I did a bad job of) and she kept asking questions about what I did to try and fix it. Felt kind of offensive to me as she never asked what the original hairstylist tried to do and kind of blamed me for what it looked like now but I don’t think she meant it that way. I left the salon with piecy hair and had this very visible blunt streak that was not blending properly and was the very front of my hair. I went back to get it fixed by her and she wasn’t too happy about it, although she was still very nice and tried her best to fix it. She didn’t understand what was wrong with it (she didn’t think it was choppy looking) and I quickly mentioned that after doing research I’ve seen girls go lighter, and she was offended by that. She also said that she would’ve understood if she “did a bad job” and I came in to get it fixed, but she thought after my color question that I had come in to get the color lighter, which wasn’t the reason. Quick note: she also asked again if I’m the one who cuts her own hair, which was also kind of annoying as I clearly told her before that I tried to FIX my own hair, not that I was the one who cut it badly in the first place. Overall she did fix the streakiness, and I kept the hair for a good month and a half. I recently got it done a few days ago at Estelle academy, where my cut and color was over half as cheap as the color from bobby pin. After getting it done at Estelle my hair become much softer and the color was a perfect balayage blend and I got the ash brown I wanted (I understand this wasn’t possible the first time). The hair student also mentioned that the color I got from bobby pin still looked streaky, and she also was unhappy about my previous hairstylist who cut my hair and how it was her and not me who did a bad job, since she’s the one with a certificate. Overall, I believe if you are getting a balayage service there are much better places and much cheaper places to get it done. Do your research and check out the instagrams of hairstylists to see if they have done the style you would like. Unfortunately I assumed that a good balayage on blonde hair would mean a good balayage on me. Will not be going back, but they are sweet and caring people!

I walked in with hair almost to my waist and assurances that their stylist knew what to do with thick naturally curly hair. I walked out with one of the worst haircuts I have ever gotten. If you have naturally curly hair go somewhere else. She had the best possible canvas I could give her with lots of room to mess it up and then fix it, but her fix was worse than the original terrible haircut she gave me. I do not recommend Chiann

I came into the salon for the first time today and left happier with my service than I ever had at any other salon before. Firstly, Chianne is an absolutely lovely human being and it's clear she loves her job and truly cares that you walk out happy. The salon vibe is relaxed and comfy and everyone that works there is very sweet and friendly, which can be hard to find in a hair salon. I felt very comfortable with Chianne and was so pleased with her attitude and skill and will be back to see her again as I have finally found my stylist soulmate! I have an angled bob and it has never looked better. She also cut and styled my bestie's hair and I have never seen him with such an awesome 'do. Thank you so much for giving us such a great experience!!!

Kierstan is a colour goddess people. I went from a medium/dark brown to an ash blonde baylage with my natural dark roots and it is beautiful, I am so happy! Along with being AMAZING at hair, she is also just a genuinely kind and fun person to talk with. If you're looking for a new hair stylist/artist, this here is your girl.

I love this place- I’ve been going here for years. I’m one of those terrible clients who calls out of no where and sees whoever is available. Fortunately, everyone here is so good that everyone is good so it’s safe. My last trip was a very long appointment, not cheap, and it was totally worth it!! I can’t wait to go back. The only down side is that driving and parking downtown is a nightmare.
