If I was to make one suggestion it would be to be on time. each appointment I am asked not to enter until 5 to the appointment time yet they leave me wait 10 to 15 minutes after each appointment Perhaps they could call when they are ready so we are not sitting to wait or schedule actual appointment times

Went there for a haircut, despite having an appointment, they still made me wait for about 15 minutes. The haircut was very rushed, the barber did not follow what I wanted done, chose to completely ignore my instructions. I believe the stylist's name was Taylor; if you go there (which I don't recommend), don't ask for Taylor. Also, extremely expensive for what I got; 50 dollars for a botched, rushed cut.

I tried to book my appointment for hair colour they booked me for 21st April first and then at booking day before 1hr they call and cancelled that stylist will not there can you postponed it tomorrow then I agreed and booked for today 22nd April at 3:45 even I called in morning to check with them they confirmed it. And when I reached there just before 10min at 3:30pm I received call saying again stylist is not available we are not able to give you service today. So they wasted my time I even didn’t booked anywhere becoz of them. Now I m left with no option as I am traveling tomorrow. I don’t recommend anyone here. Please guys dnt waste your time and money here I am sure they gonna ruined everything whatever service you get. Heights of unprofessionalism.

I explained to the hair dresser what I wanted - get the spit ends trimmed off - at which point she she was like ya sure no problem, so I was thinking that we should just cut is straight across so it’s all even - and I was like hmmm no that’s not at all what I want and continued to explain what I wanted - get it layered and trimmer so that it came to a sort of u or v. Once I finished she was like oh okay ya I can do that so on we went, for some reason she cut my hair before she washed it - which as far as I’m aware is nesseccary to make sure my hairs all going in the same direction, which her telling me it was a “dry cut” and would wash my hair after, like it was an extra service and not what I’d asked to be done - like any good sales person she manage to, ya know, sell me on it, and all was good. Until I got home and got to see what she’d actually done - which was not much at all. It wasn’t cut that way I asked - very nearly all the same length (which btw is how she wanted to cut it) with the barest of a curve, - the layers are an absolute mess (somehow at the same time as it all appearing to be the same length - how she did this I don’t know), the split ends on all the hair on the front/front-side strand are still there she didn’t touch those as it turned out; but it two inches shorter, so apparently that’s what she spent nearly 45 minutes doing. The first time I was there the young girl was fantastic, but since she’s no longer there I said anybody was fine, the girl I got and what was done to my hair - which while not hideous or even ugly to be fair, is not what I asked for and fairly disappointing result for what I had to pay for it. When they’ve already shown that they either don’t know what their doing or don’t listen to you how can you trust them then next time, so their won’t be a next time. There’s also a secondary issues I have that and that that every time you go in the girls at the front desk feel like their patronizing you and trying to hurry you along, like they don’t want to deal with you.

Getting my eyebrows tinted (and waxed every other appointment) by Hannah has been a game changer for me! I always thought that since my brows were sparse it wouldn't do any good to have them waxed when theres barely anything there. Well, was I wrong! Hannah is an amazingly talented brow artist and through shaping, waxing and tinting she has totally reinvented my eyebrow game - giving me new found confidence. She is the one and only esthetician who has touched my brows and I intend to keep it that way! Thanks Hannah, you tha best.

I had my 1st appointment today with this location..my regular hairdresser no longer does hair...I was on the search for a new hairdresser...the ladies in reception were very easy to deal with, very professional. My hairdresser Ti, listened and asked questions to get to know me and what I wanted in a cut..a very personable, kind, caring young lady..definitely will make a 2nd appearance..great experience. Went in for just a trim and got the top half of my hair cut up to my chin and the bottom half stayed long. Thank god hair grows back. Lesson learned to tell the stylist by having to explain what a trim is.

I went in with a picture of what I wanted and came out with nothing at all like the picture and I ended up paying 161 dollars for a pitiful hairdo n colour. Ugh.. Worst Headshoppe in the city. Everyone knows that though. They send the crappiest stylists fresh out of hair school there as well as the ones that are not new but just should not be doing hair. Nothing complicated anyway. I've only ever bothered w this location for wash and blowouts last minute and even that cannot be accomplished in a timely fashion and still walking out with wet hair. But... they're open on Sundays because it's in the mall. My mistake. Repeated mistake. The girls at the hair school on Lacewood may be slower but they do a MUCH better job! HDC on Lacewood it's called. Goodluck.

I went to get my hair trimmed today and I sat in the chair for 2 minutes and the girl cut around the bottom of my hair and I still paid $30+ for it. Not impressed for such a short time and only scissors being used. I definitely will not be returning as this experience was a complete rip off. I dont recommend anyone go here if they want a simple hair haircut because they will charge you full price no matter what.

I've been to this location 4 or 5 times, and it's definitely a mixed bag for men's cuts. The first time was fantastic, and each time after that has been increasingly worse. This last one, I was informed at the end of my cut that my hairdresser generally does not perform men's haircuts, and does not know how to style men's hair. (This of course not influencing the price of the haircut) I'm glad it's winter, as I'll be wearing more touques around town for the next few weeks. The staff is lovely and nice to talk to, prices are modest, and you nearly get what you pay for. (For men's cuts, anyway)

Got my brows tinted and waxed. Was charged double than last time. Last time I paid $28. This time was $42.28 because apparently I had a higher level estetician. I was not aware or told of the price difference or the different levels. Was forced to pay the money because “that’s what was written on the paper.” I’m not impressed at all and I and my roommate will definitely NOT be going back.

NEVER again. The stylist was new so didn't totally know what she was doing. Was supposed to go blonde and I left with grey and blonde and orange. Stylist pretended it looked great and said to give it a couple days and she would call me in about a week to see if I still hated it. It turned orange within a week so I had to go back. Stylist then foiled it and toned the rest but the management didn't check to make sure she was doing it right this time and the stylist refused to foil the small pieces in the front, which is where I wanted it the most, she said because it had to blend. Now it is turning yellow and I have been using purple shampoo since before the appointment. I could have done it myself at home for a fraction of the time and money.

So , i asked to have deep conditioning. But , employee didn't talked to me at all and did shampoo and blowdry, which I didn't wanted even. And the same day i got a face wax , they pealed my skin . Which hurts alot . I will not suggest this place ever. I will jot go ever to get anything done.

This spa offers the best of both worlds. On one hand, it is a "chain" held to a very high cleanliness and professionalism, however on the other hand, you have extremely friendly, knowledge and relatable staff you would find at a "hole in the wall" kind of place. At my last visit I got my brows done by Hannah, and when I got home my partner said "wow! She changed your face! Like for the better!" He meant well ???? In honesty, Hannah is so experienced at her work, with a brow tint and shape, she had lifted my whole look! Recommend for sure!!

I've been going to the same hairdresser (Chelsea) here for a couple years. I book ahead so there's never a wait, she is very friendly and even has a Christmas card every year for me. I'm not very good at describing what I want but she still always seems to do a great job. The prices are a bit higher though. (I pay around $35 before tip). But you can't beat getting a head massage!. Update: Still going here years later to see chelcie!

Today was the last straw. The front line staff at this location are continulsey rude. My husband has been a client there for over 20 years. He bought me 2 travel size bottels of shampoo for my stocking. (they are the wrong type for my hair) so went in today to exchange them. I did not have the receipt, but the bottles still had the original tags showing that they were from that store, and the price. Important to note here..... the total retail value is only $13. I simply just wanted to exchange them for the right kind. Well........ apparently you need the receipt no matter what. They did not offer to get a manager. They did not even attempt to try and find a resolution. In fact, what they did instead was accuse me of stealing. I was appalled. I mean I have worked in the service industry for over 25 years. I know that there a policies and rules. But I also know that there are ways to treat people. And today I was treated VERY rudely. I am embarrassed to say that I left the store with tears in my eyes, and when I turned around to look back, the staff were standing there laughing at me. !!! NOT ok. My husband called them to confirm he had purchased the items and confirm his long time relationship with the salon and the stylist he sees. He was than treated VERY rudely. And when he pointed out that this was a customer relationship that he was going to walk away from if they didn’t try and do something...... they replied with ”oh well”. And hung up on him, twice!! So a client of 20+ years is gone because a bunch of simple minded rude ladies working on the front counter couldn’t be bothered to take a little time to be kind. I could have accepted the policy, but not the rude treatment. If you like paying inflated prices for your hair cuts and you want rude front line service, this is your place.

I went in 3 days ago with a different aesthetician for a Shellac manicure and 3 of my nails already fell off ( I wasn't at work or being hard on my hands whatsoever). They look awful and I paid a lot of money for them to only last 3 days.The girl who did them was also rude and unprofessional. I won't be coming in again.

I went for my first trim since restrictions have lifted in Nova Scotia. The staff were friendly and professional, asked the recommended questions and did a no-touch digital temperature check before entering. There were placed marked on the exterior to people to wait for appointments. They ensured everyone was wearing a mask or provided masks to those who didn't bring one. Everything inside was marked with pathways and stations were marked as sanitized and were well separated. My stylist, Kenedie, was great, showed lots of care and was friendly throughout the appointment. I left with a great trim and style. Kenedie walked me out to the super friendly front desk staff who were lovely. I'm already pre-booked for my next appointment!

Never come into the store. I was so disappointed that they forced me to buy their stuff. I tried a hair brush in the store. No one remind me I cannot try it on my hair and no one prevent me before and during I tried the brush, but they told me I have to buy it after I tried the brush. In fact, I asked them if I can try it before I tried and they responded “yes”. The reason they forced me to buy it was they cannot resale it and they assume everyone know this policy made by themselves(obviously not). I accept the reason (their consideration for health) but I never accept their service. It was absolutely a fraud! They just explained they misunderstood my question when I asked them about if I can try the brush as that simple way, but they required me to afford to their misunderstanding. It really was the worst service I have seen! By the way, the brush doesn’t have any case or package, and I didn’t see any notice near by the brushes as well.

Not recommended at all.service not good.i went for permanent straightening as my hair is wavy and i paid $282 for the treatment after 2days when i wash my hair its nothing happen my hair still wavy and what if my hair is curly?mu hair is only wavy, and yet cannot do?still asked me to pay again.And when the hair dresser asked me to go back to their salon and she checked it and told me she don't know why my hair still wavy. And told me she will redo for no cost , 2times i resched because something happen that i cannot make it.they agree on it.and on my free time the hair dresser no available slot and the manager called me up and told me that i have to pay again $159+tax to redo my hair because its been two months already after she do my hair, anyway is not my fault ur service was not good and do i have to adjust on ur schedule? I also have my own things to do. This is the worst salon i ever had. Paid for $282 and nothing happen to my hair. Very disappointed and give me stress only.excuse me.HELLO In the first place when i resched nobody inform me that..and the hair dresser (Liza) Told me that at least 2weeks to redo my hair so that my hair won't spoil.you have to inform your customer to be aware on your terms and condition..you only know how to charge your customer but the question your services ate worth or not?

Not sure where to begin... On Valentine's Day I decided to treat myself to a lash lift , I called the head Shoppe to see if they had any availability that evening. They said yes and booked me in. When I arrived, the staff at the front greeted me and sat me down to wait for the esthetician. She came out to get me and brought me to the back spa rooms. Once we got in the room she informed me that she did not have any remover for the lash perm solution and said she had left a note at the desk with the front staff so no one would book an appointment. She did offer me a lash tint(at 50%) but that didn't interest me. We went back up the the front desk and she gave me a card saying 30% off for my next visit (mind you I already had 25% off originally) none the less, the esthetician did her best in the situation and told me to call back in a week to see if the remover had come in. Fast forward a week, I called on Wednesday to ask if they remover had come in. The girl on the phone told me no, but to call back tomorrow. I called the next day, this time I was told that they no longer do lash lifts as the esthetician who did them no longer works there?? I assume I spoke the a manger as the phone got passed to someone else , she was kind and apologized and offered to call across the street to HS studio to see if they could take me. They did agree and booked me in for this morning. Although they just called and cancelled as their esthetician is sick(which is fine and unrelated) All in all I found it fairly frustrating with the lack of communication across the staff. I have had some small issues with this location in the past, and reading some other people's reviews, I think that now I won't be back. A suggestion: take your customers reviews seriously, they allow you to improve as a business. Many of your staff have been lovely and kind , but in the same breath many have been rude with a "better than you attitude". I work in customer service so I understand the ins and outs . Not every customer is pleasant but it is your job to make their experience the best you can.

I have tape in extensions and was told it would cost 100$ every 6-8 weeks to re-insert them closer to the root. I had that done today and was charged 200$. I called them and they said it was 100$ to take them out and another 100$ to put them back in... crazy prices! I called around other salons in hrm and on average it only costs 75$ for the tape in touch ups. I will definitely be going somewhere else to save the extra money.

Had a pedicure here.. over $100 for approximately 35 minutes in the salon. They had a stool/mixing bowl for me to soak my feet for 10 seconds. I chose shellac and have had it on for 7 days and it’s already coming off.. very unimpressed with the service/product. So so many better salons in the city. Will not be returning.

I am not even surprised that HeadShoppe has one of the lowest ratings for hair salons in Halifax. I think that they mainly owe this to the people at the desk. They make many mistakes and they are rude too. They told me one price before the service and when it was time to pay, the price was higher. When I inquired about it, all she could say was that it there's nothing that can be done now because the service has already been provided although the mistake was on their end. From what I see from other reviews, this seems to be part of their culture. Don't go there if you don't want to risk leaving in a bad mood.

The prices are insane, I went there a few months ago to get a price on my hair and I was told it would take multiple appointments and be up to 600$. I called multiple other hair places and all of them could do the same thing for less than 300$ and in one appointment. These people just want your money, you're much better off going to a local smaller hair salon.

The staff who serviced me, her attitude was not good, and her work/behaviour was rude, which made my scalpe painful. And my hair also has lost!!!! I complained the bad thing in official website, but did not receive any explanation or action. Even though I spent 50% off card, I still paid $141 for the service. But the consequence I received was terrible. And not only one but some of my friends who went to the head shoppe no matter where, they agreed with me that staffs’ attitude was not good. Based on this situation, I would never go to the head shoppe again.

Never again. If you can't tell the customer straight up that you can't replicate their cut from a photo last time it was cut, then don't try to do some other thing. If you can't do it be honest. Don't go here for bikini waxes. I think the esthetician just graduated, or was having a really bad day. She pulled on my skin a lot, and didn't do enough on my bikini line, my butt or buttcrack ???? I'm pretty mad paying 40$ to only have 4 strips of wax done, and to have the wax spill on me while she was about to apply it.

I am visiting Halifax to celebrate holiday season, and decided to go there on Boxing day to buy some hair supplies, and ended up completely ignored with the spoiled mood. I had visited the Halifax Shopping Centre , Halifax This was the worse trip to any salon , I have ever had to any salon , in my life . If you check the records by my name , and details you will see this was my 3rd trip to Head Shoppe , but after this experience i don't feel like ever visiting any of your branches. Here are a few points describing my experience: 1) My bill was manipulated , and there were services added onto it which I had never received , this included foil charges etc which were used to bump the bill to 260 CAD. Only after cross checking , cross verifying did the front desk reduce to 185 CAD ,but had I not checked and challenged the charges , I would have been charged extra. All this time the management at the front desk executive seemed to unnecessarily argue with me in a rude way , until the hair dresser came to explain the services she had carried out 2) The service was not great either , I had requested for streaks , but the hair stylist declined to do it , citing the shortage of time and in my interaction with her , she came across as one of the ruder persons I have interacted with.

If I could rate this place 0 stars, I would. DO NOT GO HERE!!! They have absolutely destroyed my hair, and the manager is horrible. Aggressive, unprofessional, and cruel. Would not tell anyone to go here, take your money absolutely anywhere else. The only redeeming quality of this excuse for a store was the lady who waxed my eyebrows. She was very kind and excellent service was provided. Other than aesthetics services, AVOID THIS SALON AT ALL COSTS.

I went here to get ash brown highlights, showed a picture and somehow I ended up with orange. Would not recommend for anyone who wants to look good. I am now going to A different salon to get it fixed

First, I sat for 30 minutes in the chair while the products were being prepped. Unacceptable. I'm numb that they charged me for this mess. An uneven color, trim, that was suppose to be just the ends ended up with me losing more than an inch on one side of my head the back was totally uneven. For someone trying to grow their hair this was very upsetting. The fact that it cost me more to fix it when I got home added to my disappointment. Had to lose more hair and add extensions! I would never recommend this place to anyone who cares about their hair.

I did a consultation a week before my visit the certified hair dresser knew I want a transformation to grey hair as I have my roots almost 100% grey natural she advised full head foils and to come do it again after 2-3 months when she did it you can hardly notice any greying in the hair and now my hair no more brown neither grey had been left with no identity not a style above that she randomly dried it to try to show me that it has a color and wanted to charge me for a blow dry...i understand that changing color may not go the way you think it will but what I can't accept or understand the rudeness and bad attitude from the hair dresser and what she said as her manager who was the receptionist I saw when I came in they didn't try show any understanding or offer any thing to fix it add to that she said u can call our head office..this is how much they don't care about their customers what matters is that I pay no matter if I left happy or not... poor service..So disappointed !!

Got my hair done there and wanted a balayage but failed to notify me in the beginning that the result I wanted was not achievable by one session. payed $200 to have literally brassy highlights that I could’ve done myself from a box hair dye. never coming back and poor customer service

Irene Dempsey was amazing!!! I always have trouble with getting what I want out of a haircut (I never quite get the look I was going for) However I went in today and got Irene, she completely got what I asked fir and asked questions to understand, first time in 2 years I 100% love the haircut I got! I brought my 4 year old in to get her nails painted and it cost me $23...for a 4 year old who will likely have it scratched off in less than two days. They should have a separate price list for kids but I guess they don’t want kids coming in there so the price is a deterrent so I won’t be taking her there again or going there for services for myself. First time I never left a tip for something in my life.

Every 4(ish) weeks I go in to get my brows waxed and tinted by HANNAH! She is not only the sweetest human being but her work is incredible. I always leave looking SO MUCH better than before lol! I 10% recommend her :)

I called because their website says they do eyelash extensions. When I called she said they don’t but gave me a name of another shop, which is great. However, I still had questions and figured I could ask the person on the phone. I am by no means a girly girl and have no idea the process of getting extensions or how it works etc. So when I asked her to explain to me the process, she automatically scoffed and said “what do you mean. They’re eyelash extensions. They glue them on”. Ok fine, but what is the process, how do they stay on, how long do they last. And she began to talk to me like I was an idiot. “They’re glued on, they stay on with glue, what do you mean the process *scoff*”. This is my usual place to get my haircut, but after that attitude I am not going there again.
