Came in for a scheduled cut and colour appointment. Shared with the stylist what I was hoping for (initially highlights, but understood that there was not enough scheduled time, instead opting for a cut and lighter blonde colour). The stylist kept pulling swatches that were much darker than the colour I had explicitly asked for, and told me that the colour "would do nothing for [me]". When I politely clarified what colour I was hoping to have done, the stylist kept showing me the same swatches and began using complex styling terms that I clearly was not familiar with, despite knowing that I had never been to this salon before and don't have much experience having my hair done. Confused, I asked the stylist if she thought I should just come back for highlights another time instead of having the colour I asked for, to which she said that might be best. I asked if I could have a cut today, and just do the colour later, to which she said with a laugh "it will probably be cheaper if you do it at the same time as the colour" and told me that they were very busy. I left confused as to why I could not have the service I had asked for and scheduled, not even a cut. Overall, I feel that the stylist tried to push me out of the salon, and her comments made me feel that she did not think I was the type of clientele she typically serves. Assuming that I was not willing to pay for/could not afford even a cut during my scheduled appointment was insulting. Saying that certain colours "would do nothing for [me]" was also very upsetting. I will certainly be taking my business elsewhere, and have let management know of my experience.
