There are no words to describe the beauty that is Studio So Lara. When you walk into the salon, you’re greeted with bright shinning smiles and an elegant, modern, inviting salon. I have had the pleasure to sit with two stylists at the Guelph location and I can’t rave enough about them. Firstly, Julie. Not only is Julie beautiful but she has such a warm personality. She is incredibly talented with balayage and will certainly work with you on your journey to make your hair dreams come true. Nikki showed me that it’s possible to find a stylist who knows how to work your hair to your personality. Upon telling her that I’ve never been happy with the way a stylist has styled my hair, she gave me a simple wave out that completed exceeded my expectations. She also gave me a quick healthy trim and was reasonable in the length she thought I needed to cut off! These stylists will listen to you and work with you. They genuinely care about the end result just as much as you do! Worth the money and the time. Give them a visit!

Monstar motive

DO NOT GO HERE! They will over charge you and act like they care about their clients but they only care about the money clearly. I had emailed to complain about an awful job on hair extensions, they charged me $825!!!! The hair was not blended, they didn’t tone it and you could see the hair. I feel ripped off, and the fact I emailed to complain and nobody replied!!! HORRIBLE.

I have been visiting SSL for a few years now and am so glad I found such a great salon in Guelph! When I moved from Mississauga it took me while to find a new salon that I liked so I checked out SSL and have been going ever since! The salon itself is gorgeous, the staff are all super friendly and welcoming (whether they are your stylist or not), they run on time, their prices are fair and clearly communicated, and their work is amazing! I got my hair cut and styled in the last week of July by Casey. She was so kind and carefully listened to my concerns about my hair and the type of cut I needed. I came out looking like I had so much more hair! After 2 years of being home my hair looked modern again. She gave me a beautiful blowout that lasted 2 weeks. Staying at home has extended the time between hair washes and it was still beautiful, curly and bouncy. She is a senior level stylist and they only charged $55. For a gorgeous, professional haircut and service I think it is an amazing price. I will definitely be back. Thank you, Casey!

For years I’ve been so unimpressed with paying so much money for stuff I didn’t love. For the past year, I’ve been seeing Julie and I will never let anyone else colour my hair again. She is unbelievable! It’s always absolutely perfect and the service is impeccable. I saw her when she was at the Waterloo location and then started seeing her when she moved to Guelph. Now I live in Toronto and I still make the trip to Guelph to have her do my hair!! I would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

I went to this studio this past Wednesday for a basic trim with long layers. The overall experience was okay but not overly friendly, not sure if it was because they were busy. My hairdresser definitely seemed kind of rushed. After my appointment I realized my hair is very uneven. My right side of my hair is noticeably longer than my left side and there are many different lenghts. This was not noticeable in the salon because it was curled and also because my hair is dark and not easily distinguishable from the black chair and hair cover. I called to see if I could get it fixed and the only times that were offered were during school hours which I am away for. I then asked if I could get a refund so I could get my hair fixed somewhere else and they told me it was not possible. I’m overall just disappointed the situation and will be wearing my hair up till I can get it fixed. EDIT: The manager, Erin, was away during my original visit. She made a great effort to get in contact with me and I was able to make a last minute visit to see her. She was able to give me a full refund and told me that there was a miscommunication with her team while she was away on how to deal with the previous situation. Erin did a great job on fixing my hair and made everything even.

Went here for the first time and was blown away. The studio itself is stylist and clean, with a couch to sit and wait at and free refreshments during your appointment. I saw Cayce and was more than pleased with the service. I came in with a very vague idea of what I wanted, and she was able to talk me through a few ideas and find a length and style that really worked for me. I'm so so so happy with my haircut and style and would recommend Cayce highly. She was sweet, easy to talk to, and extremely talented!

Nikki did an AMAZING job on hair! It was a big job and took over 5 hours but she took her time and perfected everything and never made me feel rushed even though I know it put her behind schedule. This is a fairly new salon in the south end of Guelph and so far, so good! Just because the studio is relatively new doesn't mean the staff are inexperienced. It's the opposite. There's wonderful talent in this salon and I've always received great recommendations on options for what to do with my hair. PS - I really love booking online.

I haven't really been to a salon ever in my life , but needed a hair cut bad and popped in to SSL in Guelph . All the ladies treated extremely nicely and made me feel very comfortable in a different environment which is secondary compared to the stellar haircut and advice on styling they provided , huge upgrade on my usual barber ! Would recommend 10/10

By far the best salon I’ve been to in the GTA. I recently went to Chelsey for a full head of highlights and a cut. She made excellent suggestions and created a really beautiful warm blonde look that I’m excited to show off. I’ve always been really impressed by the quality of service and the level of precision all the stylists in the salon take with their clients’ hair. I highly recommend, especially if you’re looking to get our colour done.

I went into the salon yesterday evening and I am disappointed with the results. No one has returned my email. I asked for a balayage and my stylist took her time. I received a price quote before although I did not feel as it reflected the final product. My hair looks the same and I paid almost $400! I really hope someone reaches out to fix this problem! I’d really appreciate it if I could be compensated for this somehow.

I have been going to this beautiful salon since November 2018.. all the staffs are super nice and they do their job very well. Julie has been doing my colour and hair extensions ,and she is super amazing.. definitely going to recommend this salon! Casey, Kelsey, and NiKi are super nice and always makes me look great!! I wish someday they will open on Sunday for few hours, that would be great!!

I am horrified with the hack job I received on Saturday. I was not going to complain but I am utterly devastated. I came in with long, thick hair and left with a shorter (I wanted to go shorter) box looking cut. I asked for long layers but it has been cut straight with not a single layer. She then used the thinning shears all over my head and it has created a fuzzy mess as there are so many very short pieces. I was told by the stylist that I have so much hair and because of that I am going to make her late for her next appointment (not once but a few times) which I think is unprofessional and rude. I was 6 minutes late for my appointment which I was very apologetic for but I don’t think that should have impacted the rushed and poor hair cut.

It was my first visit to Studio So Lara Guelph. My friend had recommended the boutique to me as she had always had great experiences. I was impressed with the services I recieved from Nicole. She was very nice, knowledgeable and took the time to make sure she understood what it was I was looking to achieve through my appointment. I showed Nicole a picture from the boutique's Instagram page and I wasn't sure it would actually be attainable but Nicole pulled it off and my hair has never looked better. The prices were more expensive than what I am used to paying but the quality of the service and results makes it worth it to me. I am so happy I tried Studio So Lara and I will definitely be coming back!

Not impressed with my very expensive hair cut by one of the senior stylist. I asked for a particular style and showed pictures and still did not get the cut I wanted. My hair has been difficult to style with the haircut I was given.

What a lovely salon. The staff are very welcoming and kind. I love the products this salon uses. Oribe has really helped my hair and scalp. Studio so Lara has a points card based on how much you spend, which I think is great because if you colour your hair as much as I do it really adds up.

I am fairly disappointed with the treatment I received. I already had balayage and showed the stylist the new look I wanted (completely different hair colour with highlights). I pretty much received the same style I had originally - just touched up. My hair looks the same as it did before the salon visit and I paid almost $400. On top of that, my hair has been continuously falling out since my treatment. I do not recommend this salon, I am sure you can find other places that are more professional and meet your expectations for the price you are paying.
