I have been getting my hair cut by Jake for over ten years. It didn't matter which salon he was working at, I followed him until he and Michelle opened Bodh. Even though I have moved away from the city several times, I still visit Jake for a haircut each time I visit. Jake always knows how to cut my hair just as I describe it, and styles it a new way each time. Jake is always on time, has great prices, lovely salon and is super friendly!

If I could have given more stars I likely would have. I know how important it is for businesses to have updated reviews on their establishments - so I wanted to make sure I got mine up ASAP. I honestly had the best hair cut of my life yesterday. I've always been a person that hated getting their hair done in fear of losing more hair than I wanted, getting sloppy bangs, or having my hair fall out after an extensive colour treatment, so I am hesitant when I go to new places. However, this place blew me out of the water. Review on the actual hair cut: if you've ever watched guy tang's videos online, he uses this stuff called olaplex? Well, its amazing. Stands up to all reviews. When I came in I knew I wanted to add olaplex to my colour to see what all of the hyper was about. My hair came out more shiny, stronger and super soft after my dye than it was before. I sat in the chair with stringy, orange, rough locks and got out with long, dark, shiny hair. My hair is literally nicer now than it was when I was 4. The cut is great too. I have naturally very heavy and dense hair and it now feels light and manageable. And my colour tho... Its really great, Ive had a lot of compliments. Review on prices/ atmosphere, etc: I had a good time! Jake is personable, his prices are very reasonable (considering the calibre of his products and skills) and the shop is clean, hip and fresh. All in all, I would go back. Ill probably never go anywhere else. The second I left the shop I called a friend and told her to book an appointment :)

Jake has been cutting my hair for 6 years now. I won't go to anyone else! I can confidently tell him to "do whatever you want" and know that I will be happy with every outcome. Recently, Michelle did family photos for us. What a special time in life that she captured for us! She went above and beyond and we were so pleased with how the pictures turned out. THANK YOU BODH!

A day before my appointment I confirmed with Jake (over the phone) if a blow-dry was included, I was "yes blowdry and style IS included". Next day at my appointment, I got a drastic change (long to short hair) and we were almost at the hour mark of the appointment but Jake still hadn't begun to dry my hair so I mentioned I'd like to wear my hair straight and he said "oh yeah you can wear it straight", dismissing my request and then was sent home with wet, unstyled hair. I have no idea what vision of this new style was supposed to look like and if what I'm seeing is uneven hair or the intended style. I sent Jake an email expressing these same concerns. He called the next day and left a voice message saying "sorry I thought we talked about this, blowdry and style are not included because of COVID restrictions" and that I can get a 'free' wash and style when restrictions loosen. Well other than the fact it's actually not free, I paid for a service I never got - this is an outright lie. If this indeed was true, he had 2 opportunities to share this info but did not. Had he just been honest with the real reason for not styling my hair (or even acknowledged it), I wouldn't have bothered posting this negative review, I just wouldn't have gone back. But I find the dishonesty disrespectful. Very disappointing.

I have been so lucky to have had Jake as my stylist for more than 15 years! He has seen me through all my variations of colour and styles to my current natural silver :-). I've been his client cheering silently (as I'm sure many have!) from the sidelines as he got married, opened his own salon, grew his family, and now closed temporarily because of COVID-19. I'm so looking forward to the day when he can safely open and welcome us all back! 10/5 every day of the week!

I do not know how I have not left a review yet?! Jake is the best. 10/10. I have thick, wavy hair. I would not trust it with just anyone. Every cut/colour has been great. Check him out if you have not already!

Jake and Michelle are amazing at what they do! Whether it be a hair cut or a photo shoot. Every time Jake cuts my hair, I not only get compliments of how great it looks, but on how amazing the actual cut is. People can see the talent in the cut. Awesome prices and an even better environment! Last year my better half and I were lucky enough to be photographed by Michelle. The out come was beyond what we expected! Michelle picked up on our personalities and totally went with it, to create amazing scenes. We love seeing them up on our living room wall! I recommend Bodh to everyone!!
