I got my hair cut twice by them and both times I was not happy with it! I thought I would try again but The last time I was there I asked for a specific amount off and once she started cutting it was the length I wanted but by the time she got to the other side of my head it was at least an inch shorter so to even it out she had to cut my hair over an inch shorter. I still have one side shorter than the other but I refuse to go back to get it fixed because i will need at least another inch off. And it was very over priced, $50 for a simple haircut.

I wasn't to pleased with their costumer service. I had an appointment booked a head of time to get both a pedicure, manicure, hair, and make up done for my grade eight grad. The stylist who did my nails were sloppy and took half of the nail polish off. When it was time to get my hair, I asked the stylist to curl my hair, she only curled half my hair and then straightened the other half. Now when it came time to do my make up the stylist didn't even bothered to do it, and still expected me to pay her for doing my make up, when she didn't even bothering to do so.

Carmen was amazing. She was super friendly and chatty but had my hair cut quickly but with care. I asked for long layers and she mentioned shorter ones would help with my volume and we met in the middle for some medium length layers and curtain bangs. I absolutely loved my hair cut and loved my experience with her.

I regularly go to the Willoughby location, and will continue to do so. I showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted and got the haircut I asked for. It looks great and I'm really pleased with it. Paige, the stylist who did it, was great at explaining what she was doing and offered tips so I can make it look just as great at home as it did when I walked out of the salon.

Bought conditioner from here, when I got home noticed the bottle had been opened already and was half used. I contacted them and I was told they would exchange the bottle for me. Show up and the manager (I think) rudely accused me of not buying it from them and said it’s not theirs and would not exchange it. Only come here if you want to be scammed and rudely spoken to.

I made an appointment for a sat. Showed up and the receptionist had given me the wrong date. A girl looks forward to get her hair done. What a disappointment. My color and cut was to be almost $200 plus was intending to buy product. They just lost our business.

I was in about a month ago now, I didn’t want to post a negative review because initially I was pretty happy. The only initial complaint I had was the girl was just quiet which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. It’s now been a month and I’m finding very SHORT pieces of hair at the top of my head hidden under hair, about 2 inch pieces. I investigated and I have these very SHORT pieces all over my head and can clearly see they have been cut. (I have long hair, down to my chest) so these pieces are considerably short. I hate that I found these so late, but we’re hidden. I won’t be returning just for the fact their customer service needs some work and I’m not to impressed I have deal with chopped hair.

We came in for a boy's cut this morning. Hairstylist Jess was very patient and friendly and provided us with quick, stylish, and reasonably priced service. My boy loved it. Thank you Jess! All other staff (booking, payment) was friendly as well. The salon follows COVID-19 guidelines.

I had a great experience with Hoon at this location. He is a master level stylist and he knew exactly what I wanted. He was personal, professional, and he asked for my business. I was the first appointment of the day and he greeted me with great energy. I explained to him what I wanted ( but I was very vague because I was scared it was going to be too drastic) and before he started snipping away, he repeated in detail to make sure it was what I wanted. He made some recommendations as to what I should do to make sure my hair would be in top notch condition. Before I left, he handed me a few business cards and said to come back in about 3 months to follow up. Highly recommend

Normally I have great experiences shopping here, however, tonight there were 5+ people working and only 1 person could operate the till. I picked out my product, took it to the cash, and was told by an employee that she couldn’t help me, but someone would be right with me and she walks to the staff only room. I waited and waited and waited and no one ever came. The same employee comes back out of the staff only room and looks very confused as why I’m still standing there.... then 3 other employees come over and all say “sorry, we don’t know how to use the till.” I’m curious why an employer would allow their staff to be that inexperienced.. I’d hate to see what it would have been like had they been busy ????????‍♀️

I walked in yesterday needing a heat protectant. A lovely staff member in a plaid skirt (I didn't catch her name) came and asked if I needed help finding anything. If she hadn't, I would have wandered around for 20 minutes and then gave up because there's so many options. She asked me several questions, like a mental flow chart of heat protectant recommendations (mad respect for having that all memorized), and then gave me the perfect option for my hair needs. She made my visit stress free and much quicker than I anticipated. 10/10 would shop here again, and this lady deserves a raise.

I had my hair cut and coloured here by Raelynn I think was her name, and she did an amazing job. I went in knowing what I wanted but not really understanding how to explain it well. She understood right away what I wanted and explained what she was gonna do in easy terms for me to understand. She took out the colour book and we picked colors together. She was really easy to talk to and also was easy to just sit quiet at times as well. I’ve been getting my hair professionally coloured blonde for 6 years and I have to say she has been my fav stylist. Another thing I really enjoyed was that I’ve never been given such specific products to use in my hair before. I explained to her what was going on with my hair and how it feels day to day and she knew exactly what product to recommend and my hair has never ever felt better I can’t believe how great it feels and looks.

The place was nice and reasonably priced, but I went to one of their deva certified hair dressers and I don't think it came out any better than it would have with any regular hair dresser. I went in for a trim and came out with hair 6 inches shorter, so it looked nice but definitely wasn't what I was looking for.

A friend of mine brought her toddler son in for a trim, first time at a hairdresser. They asked for the hairdresser to "tone down" his curls, instead, the hairdresser started cutting off ALL his hair. The poor kid started crying and the hairdresser stopped.. mid cut.. and kicked them out. No empathy or understanding whatsoever. Horrible attitude.

I GOT ASH BALAYAGE ON MY DARK HAIR. And my hair dresser was Jayfern. I highly recommend this hairstylist because he was so patient with my hair. He also did a strand test to make sure my hair does not get damaged or fall apart. He was so sweet and it did not feel like i spent 5 hours at the store. He was a great company. THEY GAVE ME A PERFECT LOOK. THE EXACT WAY I WANTED IT. The store was so neat and they were also taking precautions due to the virus. I am definitely coming back. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

A great experience overall; from booking to bouncing out with a fantastic hair cut. First- the web-booking for Chatters is top-shelf. The interface is seamless and the confirmation comes in within 3-5 minutes. The front desk staff when I arrived were very helpful and got me in immediately even though I was about ten minutes early. Tea/coffee was offered and brought to the chair. All good. The haircut and style- AMAZING. I know I have a hard head of hair to cut- it is very thick, long and in between wavy and straight (lumpy?). Slajana (hairdresser) took my specific hair into consideration and did a fantastic job cutting. I left the salon with a shiny and bouncy head of hair that I couldn't stop touching as it was so soft. The test of a great cut for me is repeatability and I can say that almost two weeks later my hair still looks freshly cut and is a lot easier to style than before she cut it. Huge shout out to Slajana.

One of the nicest cuts I've had in the past 5 years. Holly did an amazing job! Exactly what I wanted- trim the dead ends, add layers. I had just bleached my hair so it was a bit dry and yellow. She used some wonderful professional products to tone my hair while she washed it and now it's very soft and bouncy and even. Layered so well. And such an affordable price. I'm usually fairly bougie when it comes to cuts and prefer to spend the extra cash but this was top-tier. Highly recommended her at the salon. ????

I’m so angry at myself for thinking there was no way anyone could mess up my sons very first hair TRIM. All I asked was a small trim in the front to get the hair out of his eyes. First cut was a massive hunk out of the front and there was no going back from that. Think Lloyd from Dumber and Dumber. That is how bad it is. I went to my car and cried. My fault for not waiting and going to a reputable salon. So upset

After a long wait through the pandemic without a decent haircut or color, a friend recommended Becca at Chatters. She seriously gave me the best cut I've had since I moved to London 3 years ago. I brought in a couple of photos for the cut and color, and she was darn close on both counts. The color is high quality and she took exceptional care the entire time. If you're looking for a good hairdresser, I wouldn't hesitate to book Becca.

Zero stars if I could. I was in last week for a cut and asked the stylist to keep the length but give my hair a bit more movement, meaning some light layers at the bottom and some shape to my curtain bangs so it wasn't so blocky. I left the salon with a mullet and my hair was three inches shorter than when I came in. I called later, extremely disappointed with the haircut I received and asked them to fix it for free. They said they would but it had to be the same stylist. Now, I understand that if a stylist messes up a haircut they should be the first ones to fix their mistakes. However, the stylist did not listen to me the first time. How could I trust him to listen to me and fix the awful cut he gave me? I requested a different stylist but the lady on the phone was firm and told me I could have another stylist but I would have to pay full price again. I understand the policy but if your customer is unhappy it is your job to provide better service. Overall extremely unprofessional and disappointing. Do not go here, they will butcher your hair.

Been here twice: once for my hair and yesterday to buy product. Very rude and condescending staff on both visits (a lot of gossiping during the hair visit). The one stylist exploded over us asking for a different hair treatment product than the one she was recommending. She was screaming and literally physically shaking during the very short exchange (we did not engage once she exploded, which was almost immediately, and simply just walked away so it wouldn't escalate the situation). All because we were asked for the treatment cap that she herself recommended to me when she did my hair previously. The majority of her screaming was about how she was a stylist and knew more than us and very condescending. Regardless of what happened before (someone else saying something that had put her on edge or stress at work) this is unprofessional behaviour. I wasn't too upset by it and just laughed even in the moment over it because it was such an out of this world over reaction, thus quite hilarious. However, it's also not very professional and other customers may indeed find that upsetting so buyer beware.

The worst experience I have ever had in a Salon!! I actually asked her half way through to wash my hair because I feel sick and upset and I need to leave. I asked very clearly for texture and chunks, to the girl at the front and to the stylist (even showing her pictures)! After a few questions part way through from me as to can she chunk and texture it and her saying I don't know what you mean. I said I need to stop as I didn't know you don't know how to do what I asked. (I didn't ask for you to pull your fingers up and cut a straight line!!!) I have NEVER ever in my 46 years of funky short cuts walked out of a Salon. Then to top it off I am on here writing this review because nothing was done to rectify it by any staff front or back- to make up for the fact that I am leaving a salon half cut and un-styled. BAD BAD BAD service and cuts! I said to the girl at the front if someone is being very specific and asking for a stylist that can cut in a certain way; someone with experience, don't put them with someone that can't do what they asked. She said oh I didn't know, the stylist are supposed to tell us if they can't do something. Do you know... she didn't even wash my hair at the end like I asked.

Worst hair experience I've ever had. I told the stylist exactly what I wanted, even showed her pictures and she did the complete opposite. I wanted a blunt cut and she gave me very short layers. I wanted straight across bangs and she cut them unevenly with a middle part. Another stylist even came over to fix a section I guess looked bad? I wear glasses so I couldn't see anything going on until the final reveal. I was so upset, I went immediately to the bathroom, and then to the front desk and cried right there in the salon in front of the other stylists. I can't believe I had to pay for it!? And I can't believe the other stylists would allow me to walk out with the hair cut I was given. I will be calling the manager.

I had a Deva Cut (curly hair cut) done yesterday by Bella, and while the service was good, I had a few bad experiences. To start, I asked Bella to use a clarifying shampoo to help me reduce the red in my hair, and she did but she didn't use it on my scalp. I had told her I clarify once every 2-3 weeks and it was time to clarify (aka my scalp was super oily). So once it dried I had issues all night with how oily my scalp was (so much that it was hurting). Then she didn't ask me what Deva products I would like to use and used a cream which weighed my hair down a ton. Not the end of the world, but not great either. Bella was professional, and quiet. Which is fine, she got more talkative by the end which was nice. The reason I am giving the salon two stars is because when it came to pay, they told me my total was around $85. I stopped them and said that online the price was $52. The lady checking me out (not Bella) told me that because it's a Deva Cut, with Bella, it costs more and that she calls all clients who book online to tell them. I never got a call to tell me that. The reason I came to this salon was because it was supposed to be affordable - I am a masters student and cant afford $90 every two months. I still tipped Bella, because I have worked in the service industry. But I will not be returning.

Went in for kids haircuts and was absolutely blown away. My daughters cut was top notch. Monique was amazing. We'll be back. Edit: we are back for another round of kids cuts. Once again and amazing job. One recommendation would be to hand out some Heel Cream for those stylists that wear sandals. Cracked heels look painful.

My friend Cassandra works there, so whenever I need my hair done that's where I go. Most of the time I try to discuss what I want to get done with her before I make the appointment so she knows how much time she will need and I can book an appointment with her easier (I honestly hate calling, just in general I don't know why, but I know I still have to for an official booking) I can be pretty indecisive at times and have a more vague idea for what I want, but she always works with me to discuss options I might like and we go from there. Even during the process she always checks with me and makes sure I have the final say in what I want done (which pretty much always ends up being what she was going to do before she asked anyway) but I know I can trust her to do what she thinks would look good, and I have never been dissatisfied when she does my hair. I've even started going a bit more out of my comfort zone because of her encouragement and suggestions. I notice there are some other negative reviews on here, I don't know if I'm just oblivious to it cause I'm more focused on what I am getting done, because I already have a history with Cass she knows what I like, or possibly the reviews are for the other Chatters and not the one in the mall, but in any case I strongly recommend trying to make one with Cassandra Galon because she is very good at what she does and is always friendly and willing to work with you 10/10

My hair got hacked at. I asked for a couple long layers around the face only and some thinning cause my hair is so thick. . And a couple inches for dead ends. He showed me how much he would take off and i agreed. But somehow it ended up waaay shorter then expected. And then came the layers, I got tons and tons and tons of choppy layers all through out my hair, and they are so short and thick. The layers weren’t blended ... not that I wanted them ... but I’m just so sad ???? I can’t even put my hair in a bun to hide it .. but it was my first and last time entering chatters.

I had a terrible experience here. I asked for the top to have about an inch cut off and the sides cut really short. She gave me almost a shaved head, it was terrible. So now I’m in my bathroom seeing what I can do with this hair. Not only that but she left the back a bit longer than the front so you really can’t do much. I’m never going back there again.

Worst hair cut I have ever had. I asked for a trim of my long layers and to please not touch the front as I was growing it out. The woman proceeded to give me a terrible 3 tier choppy hair cut and took 3 inches off the front. She then asked if I wanted a blow out and curled it so I didn't noticed how horrible it was until I got home. This happened months ago but I feel people should be warned. My sister went in here for a haircut. I met up with her at the very end and witnessed the hairstylist feather the ends of my sister's hair after she asked her not to. The stylish insisted it was necessary. My sister already has very fine hair and feathering her ends stripped all her volume. Afterwards the girl at the till and the stylist called my sister out in front of everyone at the store for not tipping. I was disgusted. They destroyed a clients hair and attempted to embarrass her afterwards.

10/10 would never go back to the girl that cut my hair. Told her I didn’t want any choppy layers because I have really short hair (like above my shoulders short) and the layers stick out wired if they are short. I also wear glasses so I can’t see what they are doing and before I knew it the girl was just taking chucks of my hair and cutting it with what I’m assuming was thinning sheers. I now have layers that are only about an inch long and they stick out really bad. I told her I wanted long layers so the bottom of my hair didn’t look super wired and thick.

ASK FOR STEPHANIE. after having my hair brutally damaged and cut like a puzzle at another salon here in Kelowna, i brought my mess of a head into her and she made it good as new. With loosing as little length as possible (to get rid of the horrible dye job done elsewhere) and still making it look healthy she did exactly what the photo was showing. Peoples complaints here about it being too expensive and such are kind of out of place, these stylists are all professionals and as the saying goes "you get what you paid for". I tried going the cheaper route at Kelowna Hair Design and ended up leaving the salon crying. Chatters is actually very well priced in comparison to other high end salons, and they know what they're doing.

Went in to schedule an appointment for my little girl who has autism. They misscheduled my appointment and proceeded to tell me that they would not be able to cut her hair. After talking to them, they finally "booked" us in. They DID NOT WASH her hair nor did they ask me for my approval of what they were doing. In addition when I made the appointment I specified that she has sensory issues and asked if they could use their wet brush, a product they sell that specializes in these issues. At the time they said that it would be possible, however when I spoke to the hairdresser she told me no and said that she would just "be gentle" in a rude manner. There was no sympathy for her disability and they were very unapologetic. Would give zero stars if possible.

Thought I would be paying for just the haircut but was charged for shampoo and style as well. As I was paying for my daughter's haircut as well as some product, didn't notice until I left the salon. I called back and they just said yep, that's the way it is. Had I known, obviously I would have had the shampoo and style too. Carrie and Amber were sent from Jesus in heaven himself! For context: A week prior to my appointment at Chatters in Kingston I was a platinum blonde, trying to go back to a nice natural, rich brown. I went to a hairstylist in Ottawa who absolutely butchered my hair. It was fried and an ugly grey and dark black mix with these white streaks. When I called the salon, Amber, the manager, was extremely charismatic, sympathetic, and eager to help. She went out of her way to reorganize the her day so that Carrie, a senior stylist, could fit me in ASAP to fix the awful mess that was my hair. When I got there, Carrie gave me a consult and told me she would fix it. During the service she was so fun to talk to and was very particular with her work. She took her time fixing it to make sure that the finished results were what I had asked for. Needless to say, when it was all said and done I was absolutely blown away!! During the consult, I showed her an inspiration picture of what I was looking for knowing that I would end up with only something similar to the picture. When she revealed the finished results.... I was speechless. She LITERALLY took what was in the inspiration picture and put it on my head. She started off with a completely destroyed mess (of someone elses doing) and gave me exactly what I wanted. Now, every time I need to get my hair done, I will happily drive the two hours from Ottawa (where I live) to Kingston. . In Conclusion: The experience was great, the people were great, and most importantly, the finished results were absolutely perfect. 10/10

My hairdresser Sonny is great. Her cuts are perfect and never look awkward when they are salon fresh. I had my hair done by another stylist there once. She did my bangs way too short and after weeks and weeks Im just recovering now. However, im writing this to share I went in yesterday to get my ears peirced as Chatters now offers that, no harmful needle gun like Claires - human controlled pressure. I was beyond impressed with the lady who did it. She was so personable and made the process so calming whilst still exciting. She was very thorough in making sure i was happy with the placement before piercing, asking if counting down made me comfortable, and staying within covid related safety outlines. She also gave me oodles of compliments after and I left feeling so happy! I wish i’d have caught her name but I just wanted to share that she went above and beyond.

If I could, I would rate the series of experiences my mom and I have had at this location below a zero. I would highly recommend that you do not purchase any products from Chatters due to the unreliable products provided, untrustworthy store policy and most important unprofessional service provided by the staff and even the store manager. After spending over $150 on a blow dryer, the hair dryer nearly caught on flames, which god forbid could have caused serious injury to my mom while she was drying her hair! My mom went into the store to express her concern and that she would like her full in store credit back so that she could use this whole amount towards a new product in the store. She was denied this option (even though Chatter's store policy clearly states that they will refund you the full amount as an in store credit to you). She was only offered the option to exchange for a product which was less expensive and was denied the difference as an in store credit. The store Manager, Rhiannon was extremely unprofessional, unwilling to follow through on store policy and aggressively rude in tone. When asked to have the district manager contact us, Rhiannon said that she would relay this to her manager but seeing that it has now been over a week, we still have not heard anything and find this extremely frustrating and unprofessional. We subsequently went into the store two days ago, a week after the initial experience, to follow up ourselves seeing that no one at the Salon seems to care about following up on their promise and once again was not treated in a friendly manner by the two associates at the counter (Levi and Christina). Aley, who was on her way out of the salon for the end of her shift, was the only associate who took initiative to message Rhianon to get a hold of the district manager. We are still waiting to hear back from someone at your office. We have all the necessary receipt and boxes and are merely trying to follow your store policy and received our IN STORE credit but have been treated with utter unprofessionalism and disrespect. I hope that by expressing our poor experience through this review someone will finally get someone’s attention and follow up on this issue.

I just wanted a trim on top but she cut most of the back instead...nothing I can do til it grows back ....it's really short and I'm very disappointed..I was told they're all red seal certified but this staff didn't seem confident...I won't be back . I expected more from a retail chain... Great selection of products though and they care about the environment.

I would not recommend this place for piercing. While seemingly knowledgable and comfortable piercing my 6-month-old daughter's ears, she was distracted and rushed. I wish the make-up artist, Taylor, would have told me to come back in half an hour instead of rushing because her take-out lunch was getting cold. She didn't take her time, rushed both piercings so now one is too low and one looks like it's in the right spot in the front but the back is very close to the edge of my daughter's ear lobe (it's going through her ear at an angle). It's not an experience I want to repeat, but I also do not like where the earrings ended up. She then rushed through the care instructions while handing me a bag with the ear care solution inside and walking me to the cash, and she promptly disappeared out back to eat. I noticed that one of the earrings was missing the back and the receptionist had to call the back room to get Taylor to come out again. She found a spare back--stainless steel, while the earrings we got are gold, so they aren't the same colour--but I had to put the back on because her fingernails were too long. When I got home, I took out the solution to read the instructions and noticed that the expiry date (on a product I'm supposed to apply daily for 6 weeks) expires in 3 days. Normally any one of these things wouldn't bother me (I'm a pretty easy going person), but the sum of all these little things just added up to a bad experience. I'm extra sensitive because this is my precious little baby, and I expect service providers to be extra careful while working with little people. Definitely didn't feel cared for.

We have been here a few times now, took us a few visits to find the right stylist for us, but now that we have we love this place. It's clean, and friendly. Large store front with many product options. Comfortable seating if your waiting, nice big leather couch. Front staff are always friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend. Try out a few different stylists if your not happy with the first one you see.

Rosallyn cut my hair and was so nice throughout the entire process! I had so many reference photos because I’ve never really gotten my hair cut the way I wanted so I always come over prepared and she took the time to really listen and tell me if that was doable for my hair type which I really appreciated! From that alone I could tell how much knowledge she has in this field which made me feel safe in her hands!! I even asked if she could thin out my ends quite late but she immediately complied and did it very quickly as well! She is very efficient and cut and styled my hair so beautifully!! Highly recommend her for getting long layers or face framing pieces or just someone who really listens to what you want and tries to give that to you. My hair looks so much healthier now!

I went there to get a full head of blonde highlights and I walked out with my hair looking the exact same after spending $180 which is ridiculous when I see no results. I didn’t want to say anything so, I smiled, paid and walked out. I see no visible difference in my hair and I am very disappointed with how much I was charged. I do not recommend this place what’s so ever. Don’t spend your money here. I am extremely unsatisfied with the results. Waste of money.

I got some lovely pear LOMA shampoo & pear LOMA leave-in conditioner and this has made my hair feel so much better. I also bought some D:FI Destruct as I have a short Halle Berry type hair style so I like to 'spike' it with out the crustiness of gel. I love the quality of the stuff I buy here & how long it lasts.
