I had the most amazing experience at this spa :) Thor is so kind and courteous, he welcomed me at the door, escorted me to a comfortable waiting area, put on music that I would enjoy while I waited. When it was my turn, he used his amazing hair guru skills, colour expertise, coupled with my personality, skin tone, eye colour et cetera to select the best cut and colour for me :) Thor got me in the same day that I called to get my hair done, asked me for pictures that I liked so he could prepare ahead of time and was super easy to talk to about what I would like and not like. The results are incredible. I feel stunning :) he also did a lot of teaching with me and let me watch my favourite Netflix show with a beverage while I waited for the colour magic :) I highly recommend him! He really takes his time to create the look you want. Plus, you discover new music and chat about life. He convinced me to add highlights in my hair. Highly recommend!! Thor was quick to get me in for an appointment when I called to see if he could help me fix the damage I had done to my hair. I had attempted to cut it myself and had been awhile since I had seen a professional. He made me feel right at home at his boutique salon when I arrived, let me pick out the music, made espresso and served it to me with chocolates. This is a really nice touch to the service ! He did a wonderful job on the cut and mixed the perfect toner to take care of the yellowish color my bleached hair had turned. He really is a color expert! A few days after I couldn't seem to get my hair to look as good as it did when he did it and I asked him about what could be done. I reached out to him and he promptly invited me back to go over the blow drying and product techniques he used. This was really nice as he booked his time for me free of charge just to make certain I was satisfied. He took his time to teach me how to achieve the look I wanted on my own and gave me advise about my hair type. I would recommend Thor to anyone!

He really listened to what I wanted, and when I asked for his opinion....his choices were phenomenal. I am a demanding person and expect the best. I am happy to have found this hairdresser that won't let you go unless you are 100% satisfied. Not only will Thor fix it on the spot, even if a few days go by and your not happy, he will fix it at no cost. Now this is customer service others can learn from! Additionally, I was skeptical about his other service being teeth whitening., as I had it done once at the dentists office and was in a lot of pain with poor results. Nevertheless, I said i'll give it a try. Well, not only did I not have pain, it was like a miracle. I got 10 shades. Amazing!!!

Urban Soul (Thor) Rocks! I booked an appointment just expecting to get my regular Highlights and haircut.(Often I find most hairstylists will just ask what I want and do not offer any other suggestions or alternatives.) Instead Thor took his time to carefully explain to me what my other colouring options could be, which was to colour my dark brown base colour to a beautiful dark blonde, and then some balayage highlights. This is the first time anyone has been able to achieve colour results I’ve always wished for. The new look was amazing and exceeded my wildest expectations! Urban Soul offers a Beautiful relaxing atmosphere. It’s a very unique personalized experience. At first he customized the music for my tastes. Then while sitting through the Colour process I watched my favourite Netflix show. And I was also offered Starbucks espresso, and chocolate truffles (seriously I was in Heaven :-) Thank you Thor, I’ve been getting a ton of compliments on my hair and can’t wait for my next visit.

I went in with only a rough idea of the cut I wanted and Thor helped me plan the exact look I wanted, from cut to color, thanks to his excellent knowledge of skin tones, hair texture, and personal style. He claims to know what he's doing, however after overcharging the price quoted to begin with, after only 3 weeks my extensions are falling out! His solution, to sell me more stuff to fix it! He had ME do half the work, and he was distracted watching YouTube videos instead of paying attention to what he was doing! He was insulting to both myself and my friend who had her hair dyed. He didn't do what she asked and she ended up with orange hair!! His solution - to pay more to fix it!! I will never recommend him to anyone!!!

I had my hair cut by Thor today and it was a wonderful experience!!I . What I also really light, is that he really listens. But there's been a few times that I've suggested things, and he told me straight out that it wouldn't be a good idea, either it wouldn't look good or would be hard on my hair, I appreciate his honesty. Very pleased with the colour correction on my highlights. He took his time to explain on several different options to fix my colour. He even tried 4 sample strands to see how my hair will react with the colour dye. Couldn't be any happier with the outcome of my hair, especially with how my hair being really thick, dark and curly. I highly recommend if you are struggling with colour/highlights I would for sure go back for another colour hair appointment.

I made the trip to Thor's salon in Fredericton based on his reputation including all the great reviews here. I wasn't disappointed! I've never visited a home-based stylist but in this case the experience was almost as wonderful as the results. Thor is so warm and welcoming, you instantly feel like you're visiting a friend (only this friend is a former owner of a top salon and a master colourist!) Thor apologized for not having his usual biscotti on offer but offered me coffee, tea, chocolates and 'maybe a sandwich?' instead. :-} He queued up some great TED talks and music for me to watch while he worked on "my hair problem". I came in with a mess of grey, blonde, ashy highlights and dry, damaged ends and left with a clean, long bob of gorgeous browns. Shortly after getting home, Thor sent me the formula he'd used for my colour to take to my local salon, some links to the music I'd heard and tips he'd mentioned. If you're looking for someone who will really take the time to listen to you, knows what they are doing and won't stop until the results are perfect....I highly recommend Urban Soul.

I had a hair mishaps..tried to lighten it at home by myself and it went about 3 different types of orange with yellow on top. Called Thor, he got me in right away to fix the disaster. We talked for a bit about my expectations and end goals and my budget..he was very thorough and knowledgable and made sure to be honest with me about what could be done, while also taking into account my desire to lighten. He worked with me all day, offering me snacks and refreshments and making the atmosphere extremely comfortable for me, even putting on my favorite TV show for me, or music that I liked. In the end I was extremely happy with the results, you wouldn't even be able to tell that my hair looked like candy corn when I first came in. It is now a beautiful strawberry blonde color with highlights that looks very natural! Will be returning to Thor again. Also, his puppy hung out with us all day and he is adorable!

Horrible service. Thor doesn't listen to his customers, is very rushed and inattentive. He left me in the chair for an hour and was seen eating at a restaurant during that time. Ran out of time before his next client came and said he had no time to style and dry my hair. Worst experience I have ever had. His reputation around town is not a good one

I’ve never been HAPPIER with my hair! My hair was ruined and a total mess from going to another salon at the mall. For the prices they charged I thought I was getting a senior stylist, who would do a great job. Instead I was left with an Ombré that had a combination of black and orange, it was absolutely horrible!! I tried getting quotes from other salons , to fix this mess!and went in for 3 consultations, I was either told by other salons that they would not touch my Colour correction, or I was told that it would take at least 6 to 8 hours at a minimum, and they would charge me $60 -$70 an hour plus supplies. So I was looking at approximately $400 -$500 to FIX. When I went in for a consultation with Thor, he was very re-assuring and seemed very knowledgeable. He said unfortunately he gets quite a few colour corrections, so fixing mine would not be a problem. He told me he could probably fix my hair in 3 to 4 hours, although he said depending on the porosity of my hair and what colour product was used before, it possibly could take longer He quoted me that it would be approximately between $200-$250 although it could go higher, depending on the amount of product used and time he needed . He ONLY CHARGED ME $189 And it only took him a little over three hours, he SAVED MY HAIR. Thank you Thor

Honestly my hair didn’t turn out the way I wanted it at all. I felt like I had to post a good review because he wanted me to so bad and actually like kind of made me by messaging after to make sure I posted something good. It wasn’t the worst thing by far done to my hair by a professional but it was pretty very strawberry blonde/orange on the roots when I wanted blonde. I do get that you can’t go blonde in a day but I didn’t go blonde hardly at all and he pretty much told me no blond is possible and wouldn’t let me even pick anything out of a book. Also I have a very bad neck and I did have to hold my own hair up the entire time which was around five hours. It was very hard for me and caused me extreme neck pain for a few days. All in all I paid three times the amount of most hair dressers to do half the work myself and have orange hair. I also got the teeth whitening and they weren’t that much whiter. I also broke out in a horrible rash all over my face and neck that night and for the next three days but I can’t say with any certainty that it was anything he did.

I went in for an undercut, had very long hair, past my shoulder blades, he was able to get the haircut done in about an hour, which was expected with how long my hair was, very professional, offered coffee and tea before we started, which most places wouldn't do, very down to earth, very easy going and made me look absolutely stunning, we talked about coloring my hair for a bit after the cut at no extra cost, the price was very reasonable coming in at only 55$. Will definitely consider coming back in the future!

As a kid, I was always stuck with short hair before I got a chance to really make my own style and grow it out how I wanted it. Moving into University in my last year at home, the growing was getting a bit out of control; and I didn't know what to do! I knew anyone could cut my hair, but from what I knew, there was only one person around who could make my hair what I really wanted it to be. Thor did all that and more, he gave me solid information about how to keep it styled and in place, he gave me great product reccommendations and I went home with a great deal on the bag of hair products I carried out with me after a well done cut to get rid of my split ends. Thor was amazing at accomodating everyone, I felt very welcome and he clearly cared about making sure everyone felt as at home as possible, through television, music, or simply conversation. You'll definitely see me back again next time i'm out looking to get something done with my hair, and I'd reccommend anyone else looking for a quality cut to head there too.
