I went to the hair bin today. I don't normally go there because for the longest time I had a barber that cut my hair out of her home, but I did stop in today because it was close to my son's daycare and I needed to get in and get out to pick up my son before 5pm. I was very fortunate to be helped by Patricia Dore. She took me over to the salon side where her chair was - this made me feel special because she took the time to help reduce the wait time for gentlemen waiting in the barbershop. I felt like they understood that my time was important. She did a great job on my hair cut in 10 minutes. She is very professional and made me feel like a valuable customer. First class service. I will be booking my appointments with Patricia every time.

Shelby is by far the best here. I got in after having an awkward experience before, she didn’t argue or over ask the “ are you sure you want a 0?” When I am literally going bald due to health reasons, and she fixed up my beard pretty quickly as I have no barber here. She is for sure a great recommendation, I just don’t like the fact I can’t book an appointment anymore. It’s hit or miss now but I’ll get in to see her sometime soon!

I am not from FSJ, and did some reasearch before going to get my hair cut. The hair bin salon & barber shop had good reviews on their expertice and customer service, and it was located convieniently close to my hotel so it seemed like an easy choice to pick. When I got there, I was greeted by an array of really nice women, and sat almost immediately. Danielle cut my hair, and as I had hoped the reviews lived up to the service. She did a great job, and would highly recommend this place to anyone in FSJ and surrounding area. Thanks again Danielle, and crew.

For those of you that haven't had extensions picture having a braid in your hair for 6 months with hair sewed into it. Inevitably as you naturally shed hair but its still trapped in the braid it tangles, and the longer you have your hair in the extensions the more it grows the more it sheds the more it tangles. I have had extensions done 4 times and this knotting was right in the middle of the line. Not the worst I have had not the best. From the minute we started she began complaining LOUDLY about how HORRIBLE the knotting was. The worst she had ever seen, atrocious and terrible. She went on and on for a literal hour. She would make a comment and in the beginning I would politely agree and apologies, and she would make another and another and another to the point where I eventually just fell silent. She called over no less than 3 other stylists to witness the carnage complaining just as loudly to them, they all politely looked and than carried on with their work none of them commented they seemed a little uncomfortable. She told me I was going to be left with horrible bald spots and that the women who had put the extensions in had ruined my hair. Like I said at this point this was my third time having extensions removed and I thought it actually wasn't as bad as previous times. But I'm not the professional and I can't see the back of my own head maybe something had gone horribly wrong?! Every girl with extensions worst fear is being left with horrible bald spots. So I was ping ponging between feeling INCREDIBLY embarrassed like i had somehow caused this through improper care. And angry that this women had been shaming me for an 45m straight treating me like a side show, and terrified that i was going to end up with bald spots. At this point it was pretty much my worst hair experience. After only 45 minutes (not really that much time for how 'horrible' my knots were) she had the extensions out and I was doing my chemical smooth. But at this point I had begun to run into her other appointment (about 1.5h into my appointment). So she put the smoothing goo in my hair and asked if i minded if she trimmed another client while i waited the 20-30 minutes for the goo to work its magic. I felt HORRIBLE about what i had put her through so of course i said yes. 45 minutes later my scalp is on fire and its been at least 15 minutes longer than she told me the goo was supposed to be in for, i was really worried about it at this point. But way to scared to interrupt her appointment and ask. i feel like it was my fault so i just shut up and stare at her and hope she comes over which she does. She washes out the goo and shampoos me which feels like heaven after what my head has been through. So when she is done she says her next client is here and that she will put me under the drier and come right back. Another 45 minutes go by of me sitting under the drier, so long that the drier turns off my hair is dry and two other stylists come by and ask if i need anything. I have gone from sad/embarrassed to seething mad. She brings me over to her station straintnes and styles my hair all the while profusely apologizing for taking so long. To her absolute shock my hair looks perfect, incredibly healthy (no bald spots). So thankful not to be partially bald, to finally be done after 3.5 hours (1.5h longer than it should have been) it comes time to pay and instead of not tipping which god i wanted to i tipped well. I still felt bad. So i go to my next appointment. Nearly the first words out of my extensions girls mouth are 'uh did you know about this' and she proceeds to use a mirror to show me an about 2.5 inch section of my hair right on the back corner of my head where the hair has been cut to a half an inch. SHE DIDNT TELL ME AND SHE CUT OFF A 2.5' SECTION OF MY HAIR!!Every day i have to deal with the worst new growth cow lick . I paid $470 dollars and every time i moose it down or it ruins a picture i want to punch this women in the face.

Was my go to place for a basic haircut but after enough $30 visits, with very little one on one feeling, decided to look around. Never had any complaints about the quality of cut or speed of service. Parking is ok. I go elsewhere now but have no ill regard to The HB.

I ask to get my hair cut to remove all of my split ends and she barely cut my hair and after the session i could still see all of my split ends???? would not recommend this I feel like my $50 was blew along the wind Had to get my hair cut with another salon which was half cheaper

Been going here since 2003, awesome work with very very few bad experiences. Does get really busy most days so drop-ins (at least for men's side) can be a bit of a hassle if you run a tight schedule. Reasonably priced and friendly service everytime!

Been going here since I first moved here in 2009 - have tried a couple other places in town over the years and none compare to the hairbin barber side - Christine needs a raise, because i have been to a couple other ladies in there and no one seems to cut my hair as particular as her and I'm a pretty picky guy when it comes to my hair. Alanna on the salon side has worked with me as well - for soneone who doesn't use clippers, stellar job - she needs a raise too. Last but not least, one of my very best friends Jordan works on the salon side and is phenomenal at her job, determined and has great customer service skills - i have seen her work with her customers and they all love her work so I'm recommending her to all women of any age - she also needs a fat raise cuz she rocks that house. ???? A big thank you to our local hairbin for staying solid and never failing us!

Got a haircut here a few months ago as my regular barber was on vacation where I usually go. Very friendly staff. The haircut I got wasn't quite what I wanted/usually would get, but still looked quite good, I have no complaints. Will definitely go back again next time my usual barber isn't available.

Samantha is amazing for waxing and pedicures. I’m sure she does great manicures too, I just don’t hands done. I am super ticklish and she was so good about adjusting to make it more comfortable for me. I can’t wait until my next pedicure. I’ve had the polish on for a month and it still looks decent. They even offer polish changes without having to get a pedicure!

Fair hair cut but bad CS depending on who you get,some act like your imposing on them as you walk in the door and hardly speak when cutting your hair. If you can't even give me a fake smile and a little casual convo to make the experience pleasurable than you don't belong in the industry IMO and I will take my business elsewhere.

The most awful experience! I have gone back several times, booked with different (yet expirenced) stylists and have left in tears each and every single time. I have spend hundreds of dollars in attempt to go back to my natural hair color and this salon quite obviously doesn't know what they are doing! Very very very disappointed with this salon!!!! Went here to get a blonde ombré in June. The Underneath of my hair is now fried off and the rest was very damaged after it was not bleached correctly, twice. Then in attempt to fix it the third. I did however get the third time free.

After a previous bad experience the hair bin owner Lorainne phoned me last week, and offered to have one of the other hairdressers redo my colour and haircut, free of charge. The hairdresser name is Michelle. Michelle did an fantastic job, she coloured my hair, and cut my hair exactly like I wanted it. Michelle was super friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that my hair turns out the way I want it. I just want to give Michelle and Lorainne a heartfelt thank you, I really appreciate it! It's hit or miss with this joint. Sometimes you get a warm welcome and friendly barber that listens to your instructions or you get one with all the warmth and personality of a robot that completely ignores what you tell her then charges you $30 for a butcher job that is closer to a $15 Super Clips cut.
