I hate it when other salons try to fit too many appointments in and you have to wait, even though you booked an appointment. I love the new online method for booking appointments as well. So easy!

I decided to go here because of the good reviews. I got so disappointed that I had to pay 340$ for full highlights - medium length hair with a free blow dry since it was my first visit. So it was going to be 400$??? If the blow dry wasn’t free. Ridiculous. I’ve been to other salons in the area and I don’t pay more than 200-240$ with blow dry and special product included. The highlights were the same as everywhere else in terms of color and quantity. The colourist was good however I won’t be returning because it was really nothing special for the high prices and they try to justify it with the use of expensive kerastasse products... please.

I have been going to TAZ (Yorkville location)since TAZ opened. I started going to the Kingsway location in 2017. There has never been a time in the 20 years I have had my hair done at TAZ that I have ever come out disappointed. This is a testament to their well managed operations. They hire good people and they are consistently good. They value their clients which is why they have so many longterm clients like me. I moved over an hour outside of Toronto and I will still drive down to TAZ because I trust them and I know they will consistently do a good job. I have changed colourists over the years due to staff changes but TAZ always seems to have the best trained colourists. Bouchra is your go to girl if you want great colour and particularly if you are blonde or want blonde highlights. She is a blonde guru. My highlights never look dull. Never fade out too quickly and when they do start to fade I seem to always have minimal roots showing. Carol Cini has been cutting my hair since 1998. She always listens to what you would like to do but is also going to tell you if what your are asking for isn't a good idea. I wouldn't even think about going anywhere else.

Carol was INCREDIBLE! I came into Taz after getting the worst hair cut of my life (my hair was butchered by another salon in the area) and Carol fixed it. I was so so nervous to let anyone with scissors come even close to my hair, but she took the time to listen to my concerns and we chatted for a solid 30 minutes before doing anything. She was patient with me and answered all of my repetitive questions and wanted to make sure I knew exactly what we were going to do and what it was going to look like so there were no surprises at the end. Everyone at the salon was super friendly and I walked out of there loving my haircut (which is super rare for me)!

My worst experience. The guy didn't know how to style. i looked like I'm living in 1990 with that old fashioned style. The staff were rude and inconsiderate. I've never had such a terrible experience. Oh and they charged me $20 extra without even asking me for the extra service.

Wish i never went there... i had been waiting for a while for my hair to grow and color to fade so i can go to a "professiona" hair salon to get my hair done professionally for first time. First i spoke with receptionist and hair and the (pregnant) color lady whos had the most experience 12 yrs and she also teaches classes outside of the salon so my i thought to trust her but boy was i wrong.... she told me she could get my brown to blonde ombre hair color in ONE SITTING. So the first time she does it my whole head turns orange and starts breaking then she told me to come back next day to fix it then i come back and she uses this weird product on my hair thats supposed to change the color back to your natural hair color then devides my hair into 2 different colors no blend.... at this point i get furious and ask for may money back then they only give $150 back out of $300... now dont get me started on the hair cut.... after this i had to go to different salon and pay $350 to fix my hair and there is only so much you can do after they have damaged it so much the first time... i am so disappointed and would never recommend this place to anyone.

Went here to get my first hair cut in two years after doing allot of research for a good salon, was extremely nervous since every time I've gone to get my hair done somehow I left very dissatisfied. This place was the best hair salon ever and it will definitely be my permanent hair salon for now on! As soon as you walk in they ask to take your jacket for you and get you into a light robe. They also consistently ask if you want any refreshments during the entire visit! I had my hair cut by Marcus who was delightful and had my hair cut within minutes and I had my hair coloured for the first time by Michelle who was wonderful! She sat with me for a while and was very patient as I asked a million questions about getting my hair dyed! She talked me out of an extreme colour change for my first visit and I'm glad she did! They also give you a points card so every visit and purchase you make you gain points towards money off of a visit! Overall it was a charming salon with wonderful staff and a very high end feel but not very expensive, I loved it!

I was disappointed at first from my experience b/c of the styling of my hair. I wish Rino finished it off with a hair straightener as I have curly hair and it looked awful when i got home. It was a humid/rainy day so it may have grown since leaving the salon. When I first thought there was a problem with my haircut, Taz was immediately responsive and booked an appointment to correct it. Before that appointment, I tried Rinos suggestion for a part change and styled it better. I also wore it curly and ended up cancelling my appointment to fix it. The haircut was that good. This is the best haircut i have ever had. I get compliments all the time-from a haircut!!! Thanks Rino for showing me my hair potential. You really listened to what i wanted.

Taz Hair isn’t a cheap drive through barber shop; it’s the full hair salon experience; not only do that give great men’s and women’s hair cuts etc. But they have great customer services with a welcoming attitude. Marcus Tignaneli an employee; is very good at what he does and is very versatile between men’s and women’s hair. I personally went there to get a skin fade and a trim and walked out both happy and sexy. I would recommend it to anyone in the GTA area and beyond.

I want to say thank you to Amanda for doing a great job at fixing a very botched dye job. She was extremely professional and knowledgeable. She was super accommodating too. Also, the hair cut that I received was exactly what I had requested. Nothing fancy, but my length was kept intact. This isn’t always the case. However, I was very disappointed with the initial coloring that I received at this salon. I paid $330 for a highlights and a trim. The color looked like it was from a box kit. They looked like the hideous 90’s chunk highlights. They were bright white on my dark blonde hair. They blended very poorly. Although it has been touched up and looks better, the large chunky highlights are still visible. I’ve been to many salons and for blonde highlights/lowlights. I have never had this happen before. Let’s just say I’m not very thrilled. This is not the fault of the kind stylist that fixed my hair. She was lovely. She did the best she could to fix what she was given.

Recently I had a haircut and a balayage at Taz Hair Company. The haircut was amazing. Denise, my hairstylist, was very nice, attentive, and put a lot of effort into making my hair dreams come true. This is why it pains me to give the salon a low rating, but I just can't get over my disappoitment with the balayage. It does not blend well with my natural dark brown color, especially in the bangs where it looks like chunky highlights from the 90s. The bottom part is a greenish, dirty yellow, grey blend that looks dull and sicklish. It also contains thin dark brown hairs that make my hair look old-fashioned and fake.The look is very different from the picture I showed the colorist, Michelle, at the initial consultation. I specifically asked if this look can be achieved and she assured me it can be. I wish she was straightforward with me and told me that she can't do it or she plans to change it so much. I would have chosen a different look. In all honesty she did try to correct the tone to make it less green but it still looks like an out-of-place wig on my head and I can't look in the mirror without crying. For 300 dollars this is not a desirable outcome and I am contemplating just coloring my hair dark to hide the botched balayage...

It's been a few washes now with the new haircut from Angela and I think it's my favourite cut I've ever gotten. Having 3b/3c curls, it can be really difficult to find someone who knows how to not only "deal with" my hair but actually enhance it. I'm getting lots of compliments as well. I told Amanda how I wanted to keep the blonde, but at the same time keep it natural so it wouldn't be too much maintenance (I'm naturally a dirty blonde/light brown). She ended up giving me a beautiful balayage, blending my dark roots flawlessly with the perfect shade of blonde. Turned out better than the 15 Instagram photos I showed her. Not only does she know colour, but she has such a fun and warm personality. Afterwards, Marcus cut my hair. I didn't have any set cut in mind, I just wanted to keep my hair long and healthy looking; which is exactly what he did. He gave me long layers, that added volume and fullness to my hair. Marcus knows the best haircut for you, even when you don't. Overall, I'm really happy with the way my hair turned out! I will definitely be going back!

I described her that I want to make some changes and would like to change my dark hair to a light one which is NOT yellow or orange and she said she knows what I'm looking for! Unfortunately, at the end I couldn't see the result that I was expecting. it was yellow and many different colors on my hair! I had long hair, so she needed to make the mix that is used to lightener the hair before folding it on the foil many times. I think she put different mixtures each time because I can see different colors! and when I go to shower, I want to cry every time, it gets so crisp and curly that I can hardly wash it. I even tried too many different shampoos, and I have to put strong conditioners or masks to make it brushable!

Had my highlights done with Bouchra yesterday. While it didn’t look so bad in the salon after getting my hair styled, I was extremely dissappointed after looking at the result when I got home. I asked for blended in, natural looking highlights and instead got some chunky, 90s style, zebra-painted ones. Cannot believe I paid so much money and wasted almost 3 hours on this.

I would not recommend the Yorkville location. I decided to try the salon based on high reviews I read here, but am very disappointed with the highlights. I have long blonde hair and asked for my hair to be matched to what I already had. Please note that I'm not unreasonable and understand that there will be a difference as it's next to impossible to get a perfect match but what I got is not even close! I tired this place twice and expected much better results based on reviews, location and price.

Called into to book my first appointment.. and wasn't met with much success at getting a colourist + stylist the same day.. with a heavy work schedule - I can only attend late nights tues/thurs or wknds..it felt like as soon as I mentioned that this would be my first visit, it seemed like there was less of inclination to work the schedule. I can't commit to two separate sessisons... and am pretty disappointed considering the reviews. Two thumbs down on willingness to expand customer base.

I decided to go to Taz on the Kingsway as i moved in the area. I read great reviews and i made the appointment with Bouchra, however, i left extremely dissapointed. I asked for balayage, i had a loot of root growth from co-vid and wanted to raise the blonde higher as well as go lighter. The colorist was telling me "no your white blonde already, its just your used to seeing it so much that you dont notice anymore", that should've been a flag for me, however, I decided to ignore that and proceed. My hair is not white blonde, at all. As i saw her apply the bleach i felt very nervous because it didn't look right and the foils had no particular order it was just grab and bleach; at the end of the service, i was left with broken hair that melted because bleach fried it...my hair was falling off, and when they dried a piece to see the result, i realized the colorist gave me highlights and not balayage. It looks awful, it feels awful, its breaking a lot. The colorist also told me, "try not to blow dry it or use any heat, for at least a couple of weeks" which sounded very strange, but at the time i didn't see that strands were breaking and had melted off. I did mention in the chair that what i asked for and what i got where different things and the colorist kept trying to convince me that "the lighting is different, go home, look at it first" however, i told her that was not the case. Its a technique issue its not even the colour. I felt cheated, i payed $260 to look worse than when i walked in. Never again!!! I will travel the distance to go to my previous hairdresser where my hair has been at its best health wise and looks wise. I refuse to pay money so other people can practice with my hair; she looked like this was her first time and she had no idea what she was doing.
