I think perhaps they are referring to a previous affiliated salon and not at all a reflection of the excellent quality of service at the James Bay location:)

I came here because of the "great" reviews. I asked to go blonde from light brown she showed me a pic of the result and I was excited to have it done. She only foiled half my hair in micro streaks of blonde instead of blonde all over which is what I asked for. The result was brown and unfinished.Horrible staff, cramped salon, 300$ for color which is a waste of money!!! These people rip you off dont waste your time! Trust me.

I have had my hair cut and coloured here for a number of years now. Whatever phase I am going through, I always get excellent service and leave happy. Staff are courteous from the first contact on the phone to the moment I'm seen to the door after my appointment time ends. Cannot say enough good things about this crew!

Total balayage fail. The stylist and I went over multiple pictures beforehand, but it came out super stripey with blonde in all the wrong places for the cut and a particularly bright back right side of my head. I am going to another salon to get it fixed, it will be expensive and take multiple appointments. The nice thing is that Kazen offered a refund on the service when they heard about it and dealt with it promptly.

I've only gone to Kazen for the last few years and always been quite happy - today was my first poor experience. The sytlist ran out of time and passed me over to an apprentice for the final dry/style. The guy unfortunately didn't have a clue about blow-drying or styling. We had to call a third stylist to fix what the apprentice did. At the end, the third stylist said, "I'm sorry, this is the best I can do for you today." I left disappointed - first to be pawned off to an apprentice who has a ton of learning to do before he works on paying clients and then to be charged full price for an experience that went obviously went sideways. Bummer.

Loetitia is a wonderful stylist, colourist and all around great business person. She is an expert and it shows in the results. I've been having my hair coloured and styled by Loetitia for almost a year and have never been disappointed. She recently cut my hair in a very specific style, using photos I provided, and it was 'en-pointe'! She has a great personable flair to her hair style appointments, and I really enjoy the time spent, and it's worth it every time. Thanks for being the best in town. :)

I had my hair dyed for the first time in my life and I was very nervous about it, especially because I have dark thick hair. Day was wonderful! She knew exactly what I wanted. After some consultation, we decided to do a darker ombré than what I had initially wanted as it would be safer for my hair in the long run. I ended up liking it more anyways! I won't go to another studio because I only trust Day with my hair!

Kat rocks the hair world! I was in town and just happened to find this quaint little tucked-in salon - called Kazan, and she was able to fit me in...not only was I listened to, she knew exactly what it was that I wanted done. It’s like I have been going to her for the last five years! People, if you want quality care for your hair and an energetic stylist, “Kat” is the one! You won’t be disappointed! I will seek her out whenever I am in victoria, that’s for sure!

(Gonna reserve 5 stars for after my second visit). Went for the first time about a month ago. Firstly, I think they really make an effort to make your time there a bit of a luxury experience. Lots of little touches like a scalp massage, drink menu, and touch up make up after really make you feel like it's not just a chore. I had a young stylist who was clearly quite new but I think he did a great job and U felt safe because everyone was helping him out and giving him advice. I'm looking forward to my next cut there.

I chose Kazen for bridal hair and make-up services for my wedding last month and couldn’t have been happier with the results! I was an out of town bride so when it came to choosing a salon for the big day, I wanted to ensure I could arrange a hair and make up trial as well since I wasn’t able to use my regular stylist. Finding a salon that fitted within my budget proved tricky, until I came across Kazen, who gave me the most competitive quote. The staff were a pleasure from beginning to end. Roxane was prompt in her communications and was even able to assist in recommending a florist to me. The trial was great because it gave us an opportunity to make small tweaks to the look for the big day. Samantha did an AMAZING job on my hair. I wanted quite an intricate braided do and she worked with so much patience and care. I had countless compliments on my hair. Divine is a fantastic and talented make-up artist. I told her that I’m not someone who normally wears a lot of make-up and wanted to keep the look fairly natural. Both Samantha and Divine understood exactly the type of look I wanted and executed it perfectly - thank you ladies! A special mention also to Alissa who did my mum and aunt’s hair. They both looked stunning and thoroughly enjoyed being pampered. Aside from doing a fantastic job, we had the salon to ourselves the whole morning and were able to bring in sparkling wine to start the day off with a bang. Kazen also provided coffees, orange juice, strawberries and cookies, which was a nice touch. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kazen for bridal services and if I lived in Victoria I’m sure this would be my regular salon.
