After a horrible experience at a different salon in Edmonton with lightening my hair I went to see Colleen and Nikki at the Edge to help me. My husband has been going to the salon for just about 20 years (driving just about two hours each way to get there). I had a cut and color done by Colleen and then I ordered my extensions after having a consultation for about an hour which Nikki went over the best options for my hair type, what color I wanted to go, how I usually wear my hair, how often I use a curling iron or straightener and even how often I wash my hair. We went through the contract and I was able to get all of my questions answered by a very knowledgeable stylist. I came in about a week later to get my extensions put in and I could not have been happier with them. I had I-tips for the sides and tape in for the back. My hair was colored to match the extensions and it was done perfectly. The quality of the product was far superior then any other I have used before. I took care of them according to the directions we had gone over during my consultation, washing my hair only once maybe twice a week, shampooing with phosphate free shampoo that I got directly for the Salon and only conditioning from about mid-shaft down, used a brush designed specifically for extensions and made sure to brush gently as directed. I also used a dry shampoo about mid week to freshen my hair up which worked great. My extensions were blended in with my natural hair length and it was done beautifully. I had my extensions in for about 2 months when I went to get them tightened as my hair grows very fast! I also bout a couple packages of hair a few shades lighter to go with my dark extensions and the color combination was amazing! I kept them in for another three months after that but they easily could have gone another few weeks. I will be going back AGAIN to get them put back in. I have never had so many compliments on my hair and no one could tell at all that it was not natural. I never experienced anything other then professionalism and satisfaction in the installation and product. My extensions are still in great shape, as good as the day they were put in. I would absolutely recommend this product and most especially the wonderful girls at The Edge Style, Nikki and Colleen. They have always gone above and beyond to make sure I leave feeling satisfied and sexy. It is always such a treat to go and see them and I am lucky that I have found a great place to go to have some laughs, a good visit and leave feeling like the most beautiful woman in the world.

I am super happy to have found The Edge Style Council! Hailey is a wonder woman, and she has done a phenomenal job on my hair twice now! I'm very particular with who does my hair, because it's very curly and can be challenging to work with. When I told her how I wanted the highlights in my hair to look, she killed it. I highly recommend paying these very talented stylists a visit if you're looking for someone to listen and deliver exactly what you want.I should also add, if you enjoy an eclectic playlist and great studio vibes, you'll really like it here. Hello! My hairstylist used to work at MUD Salon, and I followed her when she accepted a job at Ricci Hair Salon downtown. However, after being her client for a decade and then bringing my two kids for cuts as well, she cancelled an appointment the night before the appointment, and the receptionist gave me the reason that "she had something more important to do".....well this left a bad taste in my mouth so I searched for another stylist. I'm very low maintenance and do not enjoy spending exorbitant amounts of money on haircuts, but I am a loyal customer and am always prompt for my appointments. I visited The Edge Style Council initially because Jessica Tebby offered a Groupon, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the service and cut which I received. Needless to say, I then booked another future appointment with Jessica for another cut. I have now been for three cuts with Jessica, and my young daughter for two cuts with Jessica, and each time we have both been very pleased with the customer service, quality of cut, and atmosphere of the salon. Jessica takes her time to ensure she understands exactly what our needs and wants are in regards to styles, and I would highly recommend her as a stylist! She takes into consideration what our preferences are in regards to styles and upkeep, yet we both left the salon looking great and thoroughly enjoying our new 'dos! The salon is funky and the music is great (just bought a Portishead album on iTunes) and I think Jessica deserves a pat on the back for being amazingly awesome at what she does!!! If your looking for a new stylist give The Edge a try! Update: I am still going here for hair cuts! Over 5 years now. I see Hailey for hair and she is awesome! Have went for an appointment since COVID started, felt safe and will keep going here!

My experience as a first-time client at the Edge salon was terrible. I went in for hair extensions and chose this salon because of a good review from a coworker who’s known the owner for 15 years. I paid $580 for the hair extensions, color and installation. I tipped my stylist Nikki $80. The hair (Babe brand) was promised to last 3-6 months. Upon install, my extensions were great. I got a combination of Tape-Ins for the back and I-Tips for the sides. My one complaint at the time was that the color was bad, the ombre Nikki applied was quite patchy in places and the hair strands were not colored to the root. This was really noticeable when my own hair parted and exposed the extension. About a week after install, the I-Tips began falling out. Over the duration of a month, 15 I-Tips fell out pulling quite a bit of my own hair out. At this point I noticed that the right side of my hair was 1.5 inches shorter than the left. I attribute this to happening when Nikki trimmed the extensions, along with my hair, during install. Also over the duration of the month, I noticed the quality of the hair deteriorated quite drastically despite me taking good care of it. I washed it with the recommended shampoo/conditioner, brushed it carefully, braided it at night, etc. After only a month, the hair felt like straw and was extremely frizzy and dry. It started to tangle and break. I booked an appointment to remove the extensions and resolve these issues. After the extensions were removed, it was quite evident that my hair was shorter on the right side and also along the back. Nikki did not take responsibility for the length difference saying the I-Tips must have pulled out my hair when they fell out. In reality, I did not have I-Tips installed in places where my hair was shorter. I spoke with Nikki and the owner of the salon, Colleen, regarding the hair quality and they both held me liable for damaging the hair. They refused to refund me money for the hair despite claiming it would last 3-6 month with regular use. Colleen accused me of having buyer’s remorse and asked me to leave the salon. Overall, I was not happy with my experience at the Edge and with Babe brand hair extensions. The salon did not take any responsibility for damaging my hair and owing up to the poor quality of hair extensions. I would not recommend this salon to anyone.

This is really as good as it gets. I've been going to The Edge Style Council for about a year and every time I leave I feel like a million bucks. I can't stop looking at myself and touching my hair. Quite honestly, I can't believe it's me. Due to my poor genetics (for hair), I did not receive the full, thick, head of luscious hair that we all dream of but with Colleen's expertise and help, I leave there as if I did. She puts in 2 packs of Babe tape in hair extensions and it changes everything (not to mention the amazing head massage during the shampoo). They are very easy to maintain and style daily. I wash my hair twice a week and gently tie in back when I sleep. Super easy! The color is an identical match to my natural hair and the length and volume is so natural. On Saturday, I put in my 3rd set in over a year and once again my hair is gorgeous...I've never been one to refer to my hair in that way. I highly recommend this service at The Edge Style Council - you will not be disappointed, only confident, beautiful, and very satisfied.
