Edit 21FEB2021 I left a voicmail on Christmas eve to purchase gift certs they were pushing on FB. No return call. I sent a message via the website approx 2 weeks ago asking for a cut. No response. Last year after our 1st Covid lock down was lifted they said on Facebook they would call people who had appointments book over the lockdown. I never got a call. I called in months later to ask for an appointment. So yeah no longer a fan. I came here to get the Magical DevaCut. I walked in with in waves and after I spent an hour with Samantha I walked out with CURLS. I bought all the DevaCurl products she used to recreate the look at home. I might have to go back for more pointers as today it looks more wavy than curly but I don't blame them. I watcher her closely and asked tons of questions but I think my technique might be off. I'll give it a week and if I can't recreate it will go back for coaching session. But regardless I'm going back as I loved Samantha. I've already passed out her card to 3 people!

There was a reason you ask for Master and not Junior so that there is peace of mind while having a haircut and hair colour. And end results were not great and not what I expected after paying all that Master price 360+

If you have curly hair, I cannot recommend this place enough! After decades of straightening and over using extensions on my hair, I decided that I wanted to give it some time to heal and embrace my curls. Knowing it was going to be a lot to learn and commit to, I wanted to make sure I chose the right salon. After just two appointments my hair is far healthier and way curlier than I imagined! The staff at Hair Wizardry encouraged and supported me on this journey and I want to give a big shout out to Resher (she sadly is no long there) and Jess. Jess is so knowledgeable, and made me feel so comfortable, especially considering I am learning everything from scratch about my hair. There is so much to know and learn about curly hair and she really put in the time and care to learn as much as she can so that she can truly add value to everyone that sits in her chair. Each appointment is customized and tailored to meet my wants and needs and I am always educated on how to properly care for my hair. If you have never had a curly hair cut, please go! Your mind will be blown how big of a difference the right cut and styling products can make!

She gave me advice I have never been told before & I can honestly say this is one of the best results I've ever had at a hairdresser. Thank you so much. My hair is PERFECT. If you need a hairdresser, book with her. However. On the down side, they are VERY expensive & Jessica is EXTREMELY hard to get in to. I tried to book an appointment & called 2 weeks in advance & I was told the next available date & time was 2 months away. Unfortunately, I can not return to a salon where I have to pre-book all my appointments for a year straight. Thank you though Jessica! You did do a great job.

I was looking for a curl specialist in Edmonton to dry cut my coarse, frizzy, curls (black and Asian heritage) for the first time. Due to the good reviews online I chose Hair Wizardry. I was skeptical to walk into the salon and the stylists had loose curls or wavy/straight hair themselves. I trusted in the training and I'm glad because I love all my cuts by Samantha and Austin. They are skilled with cutting and shaping curls of all types. I give 4.5 stars only because the Junior stylist didnt seem familiar with setting curls in my hair type but i understand why. I wasnt happy with the products used my first time. However, my second time I mentioned what type of products my hair responds well to and offered some techniques when it seemed he was struggling. He followed my tips and the style came out as desired! Don't be afraid to speak up because these stylists really care that you are happy with your hair and listen to you. I paid $85 for a cut, deep condition, and style. Very happy.

After getting a head full of blonde streaks that did not turn out even close to what I was wanting, I phoned the manager the next day to ask about a possible colour correction. She booked me in with a young girl who was still learning, but did a great job. She did not charge me for the service AND gave me a free colour conditioner to keep my hair the right tone! This place is amazing and the management truly cares about making their customers happy and satisfied. I will never go to another hair salon! I also love getting Diva Cuts here too :)

Finally, a place that can cut curly hair! Their staff is educated by DevaCurl. They also sell DevaCurl products, which are nearly impossible to find elsewhere in Edmonton. Parking is limited, as they're in a strip mall with a few other businesses, but I'm always able to find a spot somewhere in the lot.

I've never had my hair properly cut to enhance my curls before until today and I'm THRILLED with how it turned out. She is very professional, personable, kind and does an outstanding job everytime I visit Hair Wizardry. If you or someone you know has suffered at the hand (or scissor) of someone who doesn't know what to do with curly hair: there IS a way to love your hair again & her name is Val. She is an actual wizard for curly hair. No more "Christmas tree" or "snow globe" cuts. No more tears of bitter disappointment and wanting to hide under a rock after a cut. I cried after Val cut my hair for sure, but this time my tears were of gratitude for her talent & tears of amazement for such an awesome cut. A great hairdresser can change your life, thank you Val!

I found this place when looking for a place to have my wedding party hair done (2015). I haven't gone anywhere else since. The staff are Fabulous with a capital 'F'. My Mom makes an appointment every time she visits from MANITOBA. One of my bridesmaids now goes here. I had my hair done last night and have had non-stop compliments all day today. I see Jessica who is hard to get in to see - for a very good reason. She is SO worth it. She has helped me through the arduous process of growing my hair out from a pixie cut / faux hawk to a super bob. My colour is always on point and I never leave there unsatisfied.

This is the worst salon I've ever been to. So there's all this hype about Devacut and Sarah and I thought I'd like to try it. So everytime (I've done it over 10 times) I call them they give me a date two weeks ahead as if she's very much in demand and the timing is either 2pm or 4 pm. So it's clear that she only does a couple haircuts a day and gets the weekend off. With my job I only get weekends off so there was no way I could make it unless I took a day off exclusively to get a haircut by the mighty Sarah. That was quite an opportunity cost for me. So I booked an appointment for my birthday yesterday because it was my day off. Due to some reason I was about 12 minutes late. After a 25 minute drive I arrived at the salon and they told me I need to reschedule because I'm too late. I told her it's my birthday and I've been waiting to get this haircut for the last many weeks but the receptionist was adamant. (She didn't even say happy birthday) She didn't even ask Sarah or anyone in charge she just told me sorry we can't do anything about it. Sarah doesn't rush haircuts. I asked how long the haircut takes and she told me an hour. Ok so it's obvious that her next appointment was at 4. That was an hour and half later than the time I arrived but still she couldn't do it. I left the salon in tears and had a terrible fight with my boyfriend because he made me late. He went to the salon and almost begged them to not spoil my birthday but they don't care. He even offered to pay extra but no Sarah can't step out of her comfort zone no matter what. This is terrible customer service. My special day was spoiled because of a damn haircut. I wish I never booked with them. Me and my boyfriend had booked for a couples shoot in the evening and had to cancel that too because we were busy fighting and crying. Thanks Hair Wizardry. I'll never forget this day.

Took my daughter for a deva cut today. Thrilled with the result. Val was able add a beautiful shape, give life to her coils and add amazing definition to each curl. The deva cut is a bit pricey but is a specialized service and well worth the price. Included in the service is personalized hair education in which Val explained to my daughter the steps she needed to take in order to maintain her desired curl. We will return for the deva cut service.

The hairstylists here give good haircuts but for the love of god do NOT LET THEM USE/PERSUADE YOU INTO USING OR BUYING DEVA CURL PRODUCTS. Their products irritate your scalp and women have even experienced hair loss. Theres an active investigation/lawsuit and if you dont believe me then google it!!!

Their product pricing is similar to what I've seen at Chatters or Sephora but the staff uses the products and can recommend the right choice for your hair type.

I have been to Hair Wizardry a few times. I only have good things to say about my visits. Today my visit was for highlights for the first time… very nervous (Brynn took such good care of me). Her previous client was running late (no big deal). The way the mom talked to Brynn was extremely rude, absolutely disgusting to see a grown woman talk to the stylist who spent a couple hours on her girls hair. Brynn handled the situation so well, she was kind and caring, and tried her best to have the client leave happy. It is sad to see how horrible she treated Brynn, but nice to see the great customer service Brynn supplied.

Yesterday was my first time to Hair Wizardry and I was thoroughly impressed. I found them through the Deva Curl directory as I was looking for the coveted Deva Cut. The salon was busy but my stylist, Amy, made me feel like I was the only person in the salon. She was attentive, personable and made me feel at ease. She asked me what I loved about me hair and went from there. I'll be honest, I was probably annoyingly vague about what I wanted but she gave me exactly what I wanted. If you are a curly girl, try the Deva Cut. You won't be disappointed. It was honestly the first time I let a stylist style my hair after a cut where I walked out feeling like myself.

I will return to this salon, however not to the same stylist I had for my first appointment. I booked for a DevaCurl cut, which is extremely expensive for the experience I received. Adrian was my stylist, and he was crude, overly opinionated about EVERYTHING, and challenged a lot of what I said, even about my education and my life goals:/made me feel very uncomfortable in making conversation with him. He also made me feel so poorly about the state of my hair, even though it was the first time I had gone for a hair cut since the pandemic hit Edmonton in March! So yes my hair wasn't looking its best, but it's not my fault I couldn't get a hair cut for 7 months. Now for the DevaCurl cut, I was expecting for that price to learn how to take care of my curls. But all he did was cut terrible layers into my hair, wash and put a ton of product in, with little-to-no explanation of the process. My hair looked great leaving the salon, but it was so crunchy because he is a "product-wh*re" (his words, not mine) and put so much gel in, and I had no idea how to get my curls to look like that at home. I hope to have a better experience at my next appointment :):)
