Went for our son's first cut at 11 months and we asked to keep his hair as is (long all around) & to just a trim a TAD around so it's more even. Instead, she went ahead and chopped it short!!! Overall cut it very choppy and not flattering at all. His side burns are cut so HIGH and STRAIGHT, which ends up looking like a bowl cut. Definitively won't be going back. I chose to go there only because we thought they would be good at handling babies but I should've questioned about their expertise. Honestly, just go to a professional hairdresser and have your child sit on your lap because in the end, it's always the parent who can distract them and not those dirty toy seats. It was a mistake going there and I still can't get over his terrible hair cut. His first birthday is in 3 weeks and he'll look awful thanks to Minimod!!! ????

I got my baby's ears pierced by a lady with 30 years of experience. I was very impressed by her. She had someone distracting my daughter while her and her assistant pierced the holes at the same time. She also made sure that I wasn't in my daughter's sight of vision because she didn't want her to associate this experience with me. The price was very good and it included the earrings. I would recommend this location for anyone looking to get their kids ears pierced. Also her equipment is sterilized, unlike at the jewellery stores.

These ladies know what they're doing. I called in and got same-day appointments for 3 kids (age ranged 4 to 9 years). The price ranged from 16 to 26 CAD per child: my eldest daughter got a cream bath and layer cut for 26 CAD (the simpler the cheaper). The results were amazing, all three kids and parents were happy with the cuts. They have play ground in the waiting area. Highly recommended!

Very non professional staff. I did the first haircut of my daughter and the woman didnt let her even she (16 month) get gamiliar with environment. Put her on a broken car (seat) and start her job. She was crying all the time. I expect them to know a little bit about the physocology of the babies and kids. There were other kids also crying. My baby never cries in doctor or even during the vaccination. They just put some toys there and think its for kids!!!! The haircut was less than 5 min. I pay same amount for my hair for half an hour. Never will go back there again.

Great place to take your youngsters for a cut! They do their best to accomodate the styles you choose, not easy at that age to inspire confidence and keep a child's fear at bay. I prefer reservations, time is precious and even with an error they honor the time you did reserve! Good job Minimod!

Love it! My little one had his first haircut today. Booking was quick and straightforward over the phone. Haircut was quick and painless! Can you believe it! Our hairdresser did a fantastic job entertaining our almost 2 years old. Bonus: they even gave a “first haircut” certificate. Will definitely come back!

As a "kids" salon they don't seem to care much about children and how they are. Toddlers have tantrums. For first timers this can even be a scary experience. If the child is moving on the seat and crying uncontrollably and you continue to cut with sharp scissors, i'm sorry i don't think that's being professional. It's unsafe. Also, it's traumatizing not only for the child but for the parents. I guess if you're child is 4 or older and can sit still and not cry then they are ok. I wish I listened to the 1 star reviews instead. This is my very 1st review online because people need to know what they're getting into.

I went in with my son for a haircut. I get that it's winter and kids have boots, but the floor was super dirty. Some kids had no boots, some had them on, all the parents were wearing their boots too, which meant slush on the floor. While my son was getting his hair cut, I was looking around to realise the place is a dump. There are bunches of hairs in the little chairs caught in every nook and cranny. Their tools are all shoved in big bins they carry around from station to station. All their signs are hand-written and sloppy, they also sell knockoff Burberry hairbows (which they can't spell right) like it was a flea market. The haircut itself was OK, but the woman hardly even talked to him. I definitely won't ever be going back.

Brought my son in for a TRIM and specified only to take an inch off cus we love his curls but she took way too much off now his curls are gone. On top of it, the cut was uneven! Have to go somewhere else to fix it now. Will not be going back!

Well priced and they make my boys look good. I do not know why some people rate it a single star. I am a critic that’s hard to impress and I give this place four stars. Only because, we had to book an appointment that wasn’t respected to be on schedule. (10minute wait.)

My son is 3 years old and has been going to his Papa's barber all this while and he plays and makes him so comfortable that he enjoys the experience. I took him to mini mod thinking they would be better at this job! I was wrong.. atleast the woman who cut my son's hair had no clue in interesting with toddlers and making them comfortable. She was very rude and too fast for the young boy... he started to cry at one point - he has never never cried before. Also, all the toys can not be used because of covid... which becomes a fight scene with the toddler - he can see them but can not use them. I would just take him to his Papa's barber next time - he is better at his job at a lesser price.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, IF YOUR CHILD HAS CURLY HAIR!!!!!! I went in today for my 2 year old son to get a hair cut. In regards to customer service, I had no concerns, I didn't have to wait ( I did book an appointment which helped) and receptionist was nice and welcoming. As soon as I met the lady who was going to cut my sons hair, I had a bad feeling. My son has very curly hair (mixed textured hair) and I asked he to fade the sides, trim the top and line up the front. She seemed to understand what I was asking for, and proceeded to cut his hair. 10 minutes later, after literally just going around his head once with clippers she claimed to be done, I wish I took a picture because what she left my son's hair looking like was a joke. So I repeated myself, showed her a picture of what I wanted ( a picture of a previous haircut my son had gotten in the past) and asked her to keep cutting, and I found myself having to keep repeating myself, at one point i felt like grabbing the clippers out of her hand and just finishing the job my self. I was very disappointing with what she had left my son's hair looking like and I finally I had enough and just wanted to leave before she further messed up his hair. It is very sad to say but it seemed like this kids salon only knew how to cut one specific type of hair and nothing else.

OMG! worst experience ever! I asked for just a little maintenance and they cut his hair so short and it's not even even. Then I have three ladies arguing with me that his hair looked good, when it's clearly uneven. She kept going shorter and shorter even though I told her to stop.

We went to Minimod, Point Claire last Saturday ( July 11, 2020) for my 18 months old daughter’s first professional haircut. We got the most horrible experience ever. The hairstylist snipped my daughter’s ear with the hair trimmer within seconds of starting to work on her hair. My wife had to point out to her that my daughter is bleeding which initially she refused to acknowledge. My daughter was crying inconsolably during the whole experience and they still went ahead and completed the hair cut even when My wife had asked them to take a break. We were not offered any first aid apart from another person holding a paper tissue against the wound. We didn’t even receive an apology for it. We offered to pay them and they refused the money. It was the worst nightmare that left my daughter bleeding through the ear for two days and tremendous anxiety for us as parents. I wish I could give them a black star or negative star for their service. I would recommend finding a better hair salon for your young one because over here you might be another victim of bad service.

I had my 3 month old ears pierced by this lovely lady named Sonali. She was absolutely wonderful and professional. She took her time in explaining what she would do before doing it. She was clear on how I should hold my baby. She was very considerate of my child throughout; and the piecing came out even. I will definitely recommend her.

Don't go there if your child is difficult. First They made me wait 15 mins after my appointment time and once someone was finally free to start cutting my son's hair, he started crying... The receptionnist immediately came to see me (while I was trying to comfort my son) to tell me there is another appoitment in 10 mins (while I waited 15 mins for mine!!!). Bad attitude, bad service and they give botched haircuts.

Ive used these guys many times in the past, my daughter loves coming here. But having phoned repeatedly to try to make an appointment has been complicated, compounded by the rude response I've gotten on the phone each time. I called to ask if they were open tomorrow (baptiste day) and the woman actually laughed at me. Come on guys, parents=return business. Ill take my business elsewhere and recommend the same to others.
