In the past, I've had a lot of trouble finding the perfect hairdresser in the West Island, and now I finally found her! I'm so happy! She does my color, cut and blow dry. The environment is very welcoming and positive. Everyone works well together to keep the salon running smoothly. Very pleasant place!

46$ for a blow dry that did not last from walking out the doors of adva to my truck. A blow dry at that price should of lasted a week.... Also, as the hairdresser was either washing my hair or blow drying it, she had to stop 7 times to answer and make appointments on the phone. That was annoying and unprofessional. Like I said, 46$ later my hair should of lasted(at least a couple of hours) I should of been offered a coffee and the service sucked. Now I have to go re-do my hair somewhere else. thx a lot Avda salon for nothing..!!!!i am surprised you are still opened...

I really can't recommend this place. I called ahead and asked who they would recommend for a men's haircut and they told me Adva so I booked with her. I said that I don't want a barber shop haircut and don't want to use clippers and was assured it wouldn't be the case. Showed up 5 mins early and nobody was there to greet me or say hello. She showed up on time and then I sat down. I showed her a picture of my hair previously that I liked and she looked all of 3 secs and said "Ok short on the side, long in the front. What number should we use? ". I said I don't want to use clippers. The haircut took 18 mins and was nothing at all what I asked. She just went around and around cutting it the same length, no layers, no attempt at making it look like the picture. After the time was up all she asked was if I wanted her to keep going to which I said no. Asked me if I wanted paste, I said sure and that was it. Now I"m left with my sides that are shorter then the rest of my hair and I absolutely hate it. Completely uninspired and maybe men's haircut aren't common there, but if that's the case be upfront about it before when I call and ask about it.

I have been to so many salons and never had a better experience than I did with Adva at ADVA HAIR SALON & BEAUTY SPA. I came in with super long black hair, and wanted to go very blonde almost close to silver/white. I am asian and that is usually hard to make come true. Adva listened to what i wanted and in 3 appointments i got the color i always dreamed of.. I am inlove with my hair more than ever. She is great and gave me some helpful tips about how to restore the dull to my hair and make it healthier.My hair looks so much healthier even after dying them and I could not be more pleased with the personal and professional experience I had! Best salon in the west! Wish I could give them more than 5 stars!

All I'm asking is that you call me :) I wanted to share my experience at Adva in the hopes that management will better schedule their employees. Firstly, the woman I have been seeing for the past few years to get my hair cut is a very kind, and polite; but the service I received during my most recent (and final) visit to Adva was not up to the standards I would have expected for the $265 that I paid. At my last visit I had asked for a balayage and a cut. The artist was very gentle with my hair, and my hair is not at all damaged from her work. My issue lies in the fact that she was extremely overbooked, and she was the only one scheduled to work on this day. She was running back and forth between 4-5 clients, meaning that all of our appointments were much longer than they needed to be. Because she was rushed I do not believe she had to proper time to tend to the service I had asked for. Having asked for a balayage, I ended up with patchy highlights. The colour of the highlights was very similar to what I had asked for, but the placement of the colour was completely off. Additionally, she spent a maximum of 5 minutes cutting my hair, during which she did not section my hair, but rather just cut straight across. I had asked for layers and to add volume to my hair, but it is instead all one length with no layers at all. I would have, of course, pointed this out before I had left if it weren't for the fact that she did not blow dry my hair. Having left with mostly wet hair I could not see the true turnout of the rest of my head. Again, as she was so pressed for time she dried two sections of my hair at the front of my face to show me the colour. I think she saw the look of surprise on my face when I noticed she wasn't going to blow dry the rest, to which she asked if I wanted a full blow dry. I told her that there was no need to style it but that I didn't want to leave with wet hair. She did blow dry my hair for about a minute but then left to tend to another client. I thought she was going to come back and finish drying it, but while I was sitting in her chair she told me that I could get up and she would meet me at the cash. I am quite confused by the price breakdown as well. On the website a head of highlights is priced at "starting at $95", but I was charged $120, and am unsure of why I was charged extra, as my hair is not long nor damaged. Additionally, I was never informed that Olaplex was an additional cost of $35, as she told me that she uses it with all of her clients. I would have had no issue paying the price that was asked, but I would have like to have been informed beforehand that there would be additional charges. As I was leaving she told me to text her if I had any questions and promised that she would get back to me. A couple days after getting my hair done and trying to get used to the highlights I concluded that I was genuinely unhappy with how they turned out. I called the salon and spoke with my artist and she said that she would fix my hair for free. In the following days I texted her images of my hair and asked if she believed it would be possible to fix the patchy highlights without too much damage, to which she never responded. My appointment to "fix" my hair was scheduled for this morning, but she texted me to cancel the appointment as she was sick (understandable). I am just so confused as to why she never answered my previous text messages. I had already decided beforehand that I was just going to ask her to fix the cut, as I have already scheduled an appointment with another artist who specializes in doing balayage. Overall it was a very disappointing experience; the salon decided to value quantity over quality, by completely overbooking their employee forcing her to have to rush herself, which ended with me not getting the results that I had asked and paid for. I will not be returning to Adva as this is not a quality that I value in a business.

I wish there was a 0 star option:(... I am still waiting for their call back for massage appointment for my husband since several months. It's not I called them to book an appointment, I went to salon and they took my name and number. Waited more than 2 weeks, went back and receptionist recognized me and I told her that I am still waiting for their call back and then she called a gentleman who told me that the therapist is in new York city for some seminar or something and will be back by Thursday. I said let's wait another week, where I have waited months. Guess what still no call it's been 3rd week????????????????

I've been to many salons always came back with black roots and Balayage super blond. I went to adva and her seeing all the white hair that I have which was my number one complaint is that I have to do my colour every two weeks Adva suggested that i go a bit lighter on my roots so I won't have to feel the necessity to do my color every two weeks. Its the 3rd month i go to her my color is on point, i dont rush every 2 weeks. Staff is super accommodating always smiling and polite. Terrible first experience at Adva Salon. I booked for the first time and was told to come in at 2:15pm on a Saturday, I was only approached for a consultation at 2:45pm. The hairstylist was handing a customer when he was preparing me for a hair cut and hair wash. I asked for retro hairstylist for which he suggested to layer my hair for the waves...He cut my hair very quickly and he started curling while the previous cusotmer left the salon unhappy without finishing the job, she said she had enough...The retro look was nothing similar to the picture from what I received. Next morning I saw what an awful haircut he gave me, the hair was chopped so I requested the salon for full refund. The salon management agreed what a bad job the hairstylist did that gave me my money back...Terrible experience of my life, waste of my money and time

One of the worst experiences I've ever had! The person who coloured my hair (who's name was Adva, if I'm not mistaken) did a horrible job. I was charged for something that didnt look any different than my original hair colour and when I told them I was unhappy; she had the manager (who was also her husband) come deal with me. He yelled at me, insulted me and was beyond disrespectful. She doesnt know how to colour hair and he doesnt know how to deal with clients. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Do yourself a favour and avoid this salon at all costs!

Best experience. I get my hair done by Adva and also had the pleasure of having Selena as a replacement. They are both super nice and incredibly talented. I have yet to see a better blow dry than Adva’s. She is very busy and hustles between clients, but she’s the only one I’ve ever seen do it without being overwhelmed or jeopardizing the outcome. I had heard good things about the owner which led me to make a hair appointment at Adva Salon. Unfortunately, I was not scheduled with Adva. The hairstylist I did get, whom I shall not name, did not listen to my hair colour needs. She did use my time to promote their salon products to me for nearly 20 minutes. After this, she became extremely flustered as she had booked two other clients at the same time as my appointment, it went downhill from there. The stylist did not set a timer while my hair was drenched in toner. I had to go and remind her it was past the time she had given me for a wash. I walked in for a simple root touch-up but I wound up with a hair colour I did not like nor ask for. The hairstylist was argumentative and claimed my previous colour did not suit my "very dark skin" anyway. She referenced my dark complexion at least five times in her long and defensive response, which I couldn't help but feel had racist undertones. She did not offer any solution to the situation. Needless to say, I will not be going back.

Zero stars. Not great. The hairdresser was on the phone while cutting my hair. I feel that she was not concentrating on my hair, and so distracted. When I pay money for my hair to be done, I don't expect my hairdresser to talk on the phone like that. Outcome wasn't particularly spectacular either. Will not go back. In Response to the Business Owner's Response: Look at the owner's feedback after they see my posting! Instead of admitting to the lack of customer service, they are threatening to take legal action. Listen, this is just customer service! And from this response - it is clear how this business values customer service. Having no recollection does not mean that it is not true. I have full recollection as a customer how unprofessional it is when my haircut was interrupted by multiple phone calls of the hairdresser. Instead of apologizing or suggesting means of rectification, all we get are denial and threats. There is no need to react so adversely when this is a world of free speech and on Google review, when clients can truthfully review any business services. It is evident to everyone from your responses. I can understand that as a business owner, one can be very protective of one's business. But it is better to be protective by doing good work and offering good services - rather than backfiring on a review on Google. Also, please be realistic - it is hard to believe that there is a legal department in a hair salon! Sigh... Customers are not naive and uninformed as you believe them to be. I also checked the Google reviews, and I found that, for those who posted a negative review, Adva salon will post this "if this was posted in error, you have 24 hrs to have it removed. A no reply will escalate this matter and may lead to legal action. Please conduct yourself accordingly. Adva salon spa Legal department". I guess they also think that clients have no full knowledge of the law... really beyond pathetic and laughable...Sigh... And by the way, when I checked my messages, and realized that it was three months since the owner responded. There had been no lawyers letters or lawsuits that I have received so far! Lay down your threats, and treat your customers and build credibility instead. This does not reflect well at all. Now, in summary from all this post event experience, I will rate Adva Salon as zero stars. Stay away and have a wonderful day!
