I have been to Ultimate Salon twice over the past 4 months and Gigi is my hairstylist. I came across her work on instagram and instantly fall in love with her work. I have had inverted bob cut twice and I don’t feel anyone could have done my hair better than Gigi. She is an honest and genuine stylist and gives the right suggestions on how something would look on a person. I strongly recommend Ultimate salon because of the professional treatment and quality services.

This place is small and tucked away in the Strawberry Hill strip mall. The salon is bright and clean, I myself found the people who worked here to be fun, friendly and knowledgeable. I spent 5 hours with them (hair bleach and coloured) and enjoyed myself. The price I paid was about the same as most other places so offer the same service.

I first got my hair done with Gigi in November 2019 and could not have been more impressed! She coloured and toned my hair out to a head turning rose gold - something I never had before and something that I can’t now live without! I went back again in March 2020 for a touch up and again Gigi did not fail! What’s unique about her styling and colouring skills is that she’s not afraid to tell you about the process, to educate you about your hair and what you’re wanting to achieve or someone like me who is so indecisive that I had no idea what I wanted, she walked through some ideas and what could work and what may not and it was perfect! I would strongly recommend Gigi for your hair color and care needs! She knows her stuff and ain’t afraid to show it! Thanks Gigi - looking forward to my next appointment (hopefully soon- if your calendar allows!)

After going to multiple stylists and not being satisfied I was hesitant at first, but GIgi knew exactly what she was doing and makes you feel so comfortable in her chair! Took my daughter there. Stated straight cut, hairdresser asked if wanted layers and my daughter said no. She has been growing out a very short cut and wanted long for a grad. I went next door and came back in 5 min watching from outside seating area in horror. There was the hairdresser layering and cutting so short at the back. Not to upset my daughter I said looks great it was too late it was cut. As we walked away she started to cry, this was not what she wanted or asked for. It's about 3 inches long at back. I went back and asked what happened the hairdresser stated she asked again about layers and my daughter said yes. I said ok and walked away not to raise a scene. I did not see her ask whole time in sitting area and my daughter stated she did not even ask again. Why would she when we both already told her. Her hair is now short and layered, so short and layered she will have to wait months and months to get to a short bob. The back is uneven as well when we both stated came in to get it straight across. I don't want another school girl to get her chopped that short by hairdresser that seemed just to gap out about what we asked for. For a painfully shy girl this is devastating.

Misquoted price, cheap quality extensions, braids started coming off within an hour, total service charge $451 for this look. I am extremely disappointed by the owner who gave misinformation. The staff is really good but this time owner conned me. Set me up on cheap extensions and made me pay $451 for this kind of service.

I've been getting my hair done by Gigi since earlier this year and its been the best decision! I initially came in for a colour correction and she did just that, correct my hair! I always leave her chair feeling confident! I just love how she gets what my hair needs and she's honest about it. She's gentle with my hair and I love how she gives me advice and guidance on how to maintain my hair health. I want to emphasize that she is all about getting the look WHILE STILL MAINTAINING STRENGTH AND HEALTH OF YOUR HAIR! When she recommends a product, she justifies why and educates me on how the product works which gives me further faith her recommendations. I would highly, highly recommend her and would suggest checking out her great work on instagram. Thanks Gigi!

Went in being very clear on what I wanted in terms of color. I had pictures and was told that it would be no problem. My hair was super healthy and long. Never had color added to it besides the sun. They did the complete opposite! My hair is dry and breaking and has gone yellow! I went back in and they said they would fix it at no charge. They lightened it even more and it went even more yellow! And they charged me an extra $130.00 on top of the already $200.00 I paid! I recommend not going to these guys! They don't listen and color with their own opinion on what you should have!

Writing this review after getting keratin treatment done an Aug 23, paid $230. Booked my appointment a month in advance with $100 deposit & clearly mentioned that I do not want you to style my hairs after treatment using straightener or even blow dryer to hide the results cause I want to see the actual results. But she did both & that also after the treatment was over. I mean it was not part of treatment afterwards. Just to take the before & after picture. She even went on taking off one minor bend left in. Ended up making them poker straight. I knew that this is not keratin treatment but the styling. Again, I wanted to see real results which were hidden by temporary straightening after & there was no other way to see it other than leaving it as it is after the treatment. Post first wash after 2 days I had to immediately return to salon just to show the results cause I could see just 20-30% improvement which was told about 80% in the consultation. Now after 2 more washes not even 5% treatment left. I was never told it was for 2-3 weeks instead of months. It was expensive but I took it expecting results as good as price but total waste of Money, Time & Energy.

I’ve been looking for a good hairdresser for years now. I use to walk by the salon everyday since I am always in the mall. Finally I decided to give the salon a chance and I was not disappointed. Extremely happy with my service. I walked up to the reception desk and asked for someone who is good at colour and cutting. I was assisted by this amazing young lady,Gigi at the front desk and she took me in immediately. I’ve been to many salons throughout my life and I have to say I have never been asked so many questions about my hair and how I style it at home and my desired look! I found that very professional. I told her I was a little nervous after I found out she’s only 19! I was hoping for someone more experienced but she assured me there is nothing to be worried about and I am in good hands. She gave me exactly what I desired and an amazing blowout I’ve ever gotten. She also recommended me some products and how to use it at home which most stylist don’t do. Again very professional. My hair felt amazing for days after! I will continue to see her as finding a good stylist is hard!! Thank you Gigi!

Last year I got to work with Gigi for the first time. I knew Gigi a little from school so a little reunion would be nice! I followed her Instagram and I began my research. Gigi really knows all about different hair types and how to go on about colouring them. I knew she was the one I wanted to go to because I wanted to do something completely different to my hair. I wanted to go platinum blonde. My hair as been box dyed many times before that so Gigi explained to me how long the process would be for not damaging my hair. She gave me lots of insight about my hair and that was thoughtful. Not many stylists are real about ur hair and take the time to explain the pros n cons for your hair. Took two 8 hour sessions and she got it to what I wanted. Even better actually. I have never been so satisfied with my hair in my life. The aftermath is even better too. After almost half a year later without doing anything to my hair, it still looks great. No damage, no dull colour, still blonde. Thank you so much Gigi for giving me your time to help my hair look normal again. I would recommend Gigi to all ur hair needs:)

My stylist Gigi is just the sweetest person in the world! I have gone through many hair colour journey’s with her and never once has my hair been fried or ruined. My hair always feels so smooth and fresh. Gigi is always gentle and makes sure her clients are comfortable in her chair. It’s her NUMBER ONE priority!!:) whenever I’m in her chair she constantly asks if the water temperature is good, or if the the blow dryer is too close, etc. I’ve never once had to tell her that something she’s doing it hurting me. I’m sure if someone ever did have to, she always accommodates because she’s so professional and understanding. The hair wash is the absolute BEST!! Totally recommend to just go in for a wash, blow dry, and style. The head massage she gives during the wash is a PLUS!!☺️ Gigi is also so thorough in explaining everything I need to do to keep my hair healthy. As someone that know very little about hair, Gigi has made sure to educate me about my hair. I don’t go in for months at some points and my hair still looks great!! 100% recommend Gigi and the salon. Especially if this is your first time getting your hair done, Gigi is the stylist to go to!!

Update: I went back today to have it fixed. Still not exactly what I was hoping for. But Satwant was really nice and she did her best to fix the colours from yesterday. So that was definitely appreciated. I asked for icy blonde highlights with dark low lights and I got warm brown highlights with dark brown low lights. The look isn't even close to what i asked for. I'm not impressed. Cost me $183 and i couldn't even tell until i got outside because their lighting is so bad.

Extremely disappointed with my experience with Gigi at Ultimate Hair Salon for two major reasons: 1) Poor Customer Service. Gigi prioritizes her own opinion without regard to the customer’s wants. I came in wanting to get a rich brown balayage done (with more red tones). Due to some miscommunication, it turned out more yellow, in which after Gigi explained that rich tones would look bad due to the natural tone of my hair. After later vocalizing my dissatisfaction with the hair colour, she told me that I had to “remember that it is her work and her name out there when she does your hair” and that she couldn’t make my hair a rich brown while putting her name out there like that. Only after insisting had she agreed to put a toner on top to get it closer to the colour I had wanted. 2) Misleading Prices. I had been given a starting price of $195 for a balayage on virgin hair and Gigi had said no estimate could be given as it would depend on the hair. Without the haircut included, the final price for the balayage came to $410. My friend who had also gone to Gigi had been given a starting price of $275 for a colour correction on already dyed hair yet her final price also came to $450. We have similar length hair (in which she got a free trim) and she had thicker hair that had dye, so I didn’t understand how we would end up paying similar prices. Gigi later explained that it was due to the “ethnicity” of my hair and that it took many colours originally to “get the tone I was looking for” (yet it wasn’t the tone I truly wanted). Overall, it was a terrible experience for a new customer. If you are looking to get your hair coloured, please don’t make the same mistake as me in going here.

They destroyed my hair. I started my hair dying process in February and got the final results by the end of June and I loved it! I went back in mid- October to get my roots done and they used me to try a new product and ruined my hair. I told the hair dresser it burned and was trying not to cry because of the pain and she told me I was just sensitive to it (even though I’ve double processed my roots before and was fine). I woke up the next day with scabs all over and chunks of my hair falling out until now! I spent a lot of money to get my hair to a grey tone and now I have to dye it back to black and cut it really short just to hide how damaged it is.

I started following Gigi on Instagram and reached out after falling in love with her work. I have shorter, very fine hair and knew my goal of going silver/blonde was going to be a stretch. My hair naturally pulls very warm and red, but after 3 sessions she helped me achieve the perfect blonde! Ladies, you must remember going blonde is a very lengthy and costly process, and if you have questions along the way don't hesitate to ask Gigi! She kept it real and set expectations from the beginning. Most likely you will be her only client for the day, and she spends her time on you! If someone works on your hair ALL DAY, and isn't rushing you out the door to fit in someone else, also remember you're paying for a quality (not quantity) type service.

Don’t waste your money and time by coming here. I got my hair done by Gigi and I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair. After bleaching my hair she noticed that my hair wasn’t lifting properly so she decided to add more bleach. After maybe 2 hours with bleach in my hair we started to dye my hair. She told me how she will do my hair since it didn’t lift how she wanted it to. Once she was done with my hair she showed my the final process. At first I loved it but once I went into natural lighting my family had noticed my hair was 3 different shades. The top was black, middle orange and the bottom blonde. I was pretty upset because I wasted a lot of money just to end up with orange hair. I went back the next day to get it toned and it turned out much better. However, a few days later I washed my hair and noticed how some of the dye was still left in my hair and how damaged my hair was. I came in with long healthy hair and left with gummy hair. I don’t understand why she would continue with the color I wanted when my hair wasn’t lifting properly. She should’ve told me and I would’ve gone with a different color.

Gigi has been doing my hair for YEARS and she has been consistently knowledgeable and skillful at her art. She’s help me lighten my hair, go back to dark, short, back to light and everything in between. My hair is still healthy and I’m ALWAYS satisfied after leaving her chair! I recently went in for balayage and highlights. She did better than the inspo I showed her! I’m still loooving my money piece! She’s decently priced compared to other artists in the industry as well. Also, I’d like to acknowledge how sanitary the salon is kept and all the sanitization that is done between appointments (I got to witness this first hand as I spent hours there). I went to Gigi for an ash balayage last month and honestly am in love with my hair! I wanted something more ashy as I had a brown balayage before! After showing Gigi a picture of what I wanted to do she was super honest and straightforward about not being able to achieve that as my hair would naturally produce rich tones due to my ethnicity. She worked me through the process and gave me more of a realistic approach so we could come up something that I would also like! Overall, after spending 6 hours on my hair, Gigi was able to get results that I really love even though it was a little different then what I had went in wanting. She is super realistic and doesn’t give false hopes about your hair unlike many other hair stylists and works with the customer to make sure they are happy with what they want! Definitely recommend her !

I have been going to gigi for a few years now and she always blows me away with her talent. I have left the salon each time feeling super confident and happy about my new haircolor. I always allow her to do what she feels is in trend and she gives me a beautiful color each time. I have been an ash grey, an ash blonde, a warm blonde and a brunette throughout these years and I’ve loved each look on me! ???? I’ve never been a fan of warm blondes, but she made me fall in love with them. I have been a warm blonde for about a year now and the hair still looks just as amazing. I still get just as many compliments. We have built such an amazing bond together and I trust no one else with my hair. The 5+ hours I am in her chair she makes sure I’m comfortable and well taken care of. She explains the process as she goes which not many stylists do! She’s young and maybe that’s why I connect with her more, but being young shes just as experienced and if not more than most of the stylists out there. I started going to her when she never use to be as booked as she is now, but even now she always makes time for her loyal clients. Even if that means coming on her days off. I would recommend her to all my friends and anyone looking for a change or a new hairstylist to go to!

I came across Gigi's instagram page a couple months ago and was totally smitten by the balayages she creates! Although my hair was previously coloured, Gigi was able to take it up a notch and give me the most beautiful platinum balayage and it was exactly what i wanted without damaging my hair at all! She's great at what she does and i would 100% Recommend! Humble, funny, super sweet, and she's very receptive to her client's wishes!I had an amazing time in her chair and I'll be returning for another hair apt this month with many more to come! <3

I’m surprised to see all the comments about gigi because my experience with her was totally different. She put in a lot of time and effort into my hair and my hair turned out so amazing! Everyone loved it and I couldn’t stop getting compliments on it, the colour of my hair lasted for a really long time as well, not to mention I felt extremely confident in the hair colour Gigi gave me. This time I decided to go to someone else and that was a mistake because she didn’t give me what I asked for. Gigi didn’t give me exactly what I wanted either but I can’t complain because she gave me something better than what I asked for, and now that I have my new hair colour everyone tells me how my old hair was so much better. Next time I’m definitely going back to Gigi because she’s absolutely amazing at what she does and I know whatever hair colour she’ll give me will turn out just fine.

Saw "Gigi" today. Very unsatisfied with the work I had done. Walked out looking almost exactly the same as I walked in other than a fresh wash and blow dry. I went in specifically for DARK CHUNKS IN MY BLONDE/GREY HAIR. she didn't have a care in the world in how she was treating me .with the tugging of my hair scraping my ear and oh "turn your phone down" and when told I was not happy with the results it was basically oh is that not what you wanted? But no appologies or offer to "re-do" worst $140 I've spent on my hair!!!! Even the lady at Sally's where I have purchased the products to do my own chunks now said oh you should get that professionally done..the surprise on her face when I stated "I literally just came from the salon where I went in to get these chunks done" all she could do was appologize. Not to mention it's like sitting in church there,don't anybody speak heaven forbid.

I was quite disappointed with the interactions I had with Gigi. A friend of mine told me about her services and I was quite excited to try her out as a new hair stylist. I booked my appointment with her and she required me to give her a $100 deposit to keep the appointment slot. I transferred her the money, however once I spoke to my friend (a client of Gigi) who has gotten similar hair color treatments as me, I came to realize her usual deposit is $50.00. As a new client I felt quite deceived. Furthermore, due to unprecedented circumstances I had to cancel my appointment 2 ½ weeks in advance. When the deposit was given no where in Gigi’s policies which can be found online on her social media did it mention it was non-refundable. I had quite a difficult time getting a hold of Gigi to return my deposit back. I continuously texted her for a week and half and she would not even take the time to text back unless i sent her multiple messages. I found this to be super unprofessional for a business owner. It also felt as if she was avoiding me and came across as she was not willing to pay it back. I was going to reschedule my appointment with her in the near future but will not be doing so now.

Would not recommend anyone to get their hair colour from Gigi. My review is towards the hair stylist, not the business. Overall experience with Gigi was horrible. I went in for a blonde balayage and my current hair at that time was a brown balayage on long thick hair. At first, I thought what was weird and unprofessional that she requestted $100 deposit from me and $50 deposit from my friend. Secondly, she was combing out the hair that she had teased and was literally tugging and ripping my hair out. It was absolutely painful and I did address this to her but she said that's how she combs it out and continued to rip my hair out. Thirdly, when she was drying my hair with blow dryer, she burnt my scalp with the heat. She had the dryer very close to my scalp in one spot. Again, I had told her about this and no apology, no answer and continue to burn my scalp. The next day, my scalp was very tender and red. Also, she had recommended that I should not wash my hair for at least 3-5 days for the toner to completing penetrate into the hair (as she stated). I washed my hair after 4 days later, and the toner had completing washed off. The colour of my hair was a bright yellow, as if my hair was just bleached without any toner colour. This was after my first wash. Once again, this was addressed to her and she did not take any account for it. Instead, she said that she will charge an additional $50 for her to redo the toner and time she will waste. On top of that, my hair had became so dead and dry with strips of orange tones. The crown area of my head had so much breakage from her tugging on my hair. I cannot put any heat on my hair without it frying off. I went to a different hair stylist weeks later and they said my hair was over processed. And that the only solution is to cut or grow out the processed hair before I put anything in my hair. I regret getting my hair done from Gigi as I had to immediately had to cut 6 inches off because of how damaged my hair was. Just save your money, time and hair and go to a professional who cares about their clients!!!
