I went to Avanti Spa the other day for a massage (with Barbara), which was lovely! I had absolutely no intention of doing anything else, but spontaneously decided to get a haircut. I was given an appointment with Mary L. and was taken right away! All the girls were so sweet including Toula (who washed my hair). I was a bit apprehensive at first, because I get really nervous when trying a new salon for my hair. I have NO complaints. Mary was AMAZING. She completely exceeded any expectations and listened to what I wanted attentively, gave me advice and helped me come up with the perfect haircut for me. I LOVE MY NEW HAIR. Paid $80 for an updo that looked nothing like the picture I showed the stylist. To top it all off, the updo just fell apart by the time I got home. I suspect it's because she rushed it and only took 25 minutes to do it. Wish she wouldn't have been in such a rush and took the time to actually make it secure. Very disappointed and will not be going back there.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my first visit to this spa. I had high hopes about this place. I made an appointment for a pedi. The asian lady who did my pedicure can only apply the polish on your toes, she has no design skills whatsoever. I asked her to simply do a line across my big toe so one side would be a colour and the other side would be another colour. She said she's never done that before and was going to try. I said ok. She did try on one foot and I didn't like it so I told her to do something else that was really simple instead : three dots . She did it on the other foot and I liked it. But when I asked her to do the same on my other foot, she acted like she was confused and told me that she didn't have time and that she was going to try to do the dots on top of the previous line she drew on my toe. She did it and I didn't like it . When I told her I didn't, she lost patience and rushed to re-do it. At the end i found myself with a pretty bad polish application. I was curious about this place but never going back. The worst is that I had to pay 52$ for a 20$ job.

I was able to book something last minute and was accomadated well. This place is huge, many services available. Prices are standard. Staff were nice and talented. Cash only for tips, this is a huge inconvenience, no other spa I go to requires cash only for this anymore for years now. Yes there is a ATM, but it's a generic one that will cost you 3$ on top of your own bank fees. This does discourage me from going there as it adds an extra step of going to the bank, for someone using public transit this can add 30-45 min to your trip. Otherwise the spa was good and I would go again.

Then, I had a massage with Barbara that was so relaxing, excellent masseuse (I've had sub-par ones before). I had a 24K Gold Facial.....Wasn't worth it....It was in a room with a light directly to my eyes like a sun...Never had a facial with that much light before. The room was purely decorated. The lady was great explaining what she is using each time but it was so quick and the cotton used during the facial was cheap because I kept feeling its fiber sticking unto my face. I paid it in Groupon for 40$+ and I thought it wasn't worth it. How about it's full price 200$. Then at the end, the lady was trying to sell the product anyhow even if I told her I had my product and not interested in buying. She kept telling me, well it shows that what you use isn't working...Anyway...The spa looked great and fully equipped but the skin care I took wasn't.

Don't get me wrong that 5 stars are for the hair dresser Edward really very talented but the make up I got is at best at 2 star with Leticia. First no structure nor contour on my face. second, the way she blends the eyeshades was not to the level expected from a professional make up artist from the spa, it was messy, was falling on my face and she did not even do the basics like setting the make up so it stays for hours, and the list goes on. I'm not a professional so when i arrived i humbly told her that i trusted her, thinking that a professional would for sure do a much better job than what i could ever do at home but the ugly truth is that my everyday make up routine covers at least the basics. On the other hand i noticed that the make up artist working next to us was really doing a great job on her client. Again a big thank you to Edward, he has a great eye and understands the face of a woman To finish all my friends noticed something was wrong with my makeup today ( at wedding of my friend) , so i ended up avoiding being taken to much in pictures, even my husband noticed the difference... very frustrating

We stepped into Avanti Le Spa and it was as if we walked into heaven... and MARY L. is an ANGEL! My Grandmother is 82 years old and it was a miracle that my mom and I convinced her to get her hair cut in the first place (normally, she takes the scissors to it herself). The 3 of us - 3 generations of women - were planning on taking some very treasured family photos. Mary L. is the angel who cut my Grandmother's hair. She was so kind, gentle and patient with her. Mary completely transformed my Grandmother's ratty tatty, uneven hair into a modern, chic and clean look that complimented her face - as my Grandmother told her herself, "she's an artist!" Mary went ABOVE AND BEYOND by even touching up my mom's hair and then offered to take the generation pictures for us - we had a BIG photo shoot and got some PRICELESS shots of the 3 of us! We are all so thankful for Mary's work and the hospitality of Avanti Le Spa. We will be back!!! And definitely recommend Mary L. for your hair cut and style :)

I find the receptionists are confused space cases but the hairdressers are pretty good. There's always a scheduling conflict when I go, Sonya, Anna A and Virginia were great but I would never go back to maria. Exceptional service/haircut by MARY L. I've previously had a bad haircut at a different salon. I've decided to go to Mary L. Based on the number of reviews they have, and hopefully get the bad shape fixed. Mary L. was super friendly and patient with me. She listened to all my concerns and explained to me what she was going to do. I was very happy with the final haircut. Not only it looks good but she took onto an account my hair texture so it was easy to manage as well. Massively happy client, couldnt recommend her enough! Bonus for me she also works on Sundays! I took an appointment with a colorist for the first time at the Avanti salon spa. When I took my appointment I was very clear that I want to be booked with that person in particular, because I have seen her work in the past and I trust it. When I got to the spa they have changed the colorist without advising me, they just decided to put me with someone else because the colorist that I first asked for was not there. I asked to talked to a manager or a person in charge, but no one was available. The work might be good but they really don't care about the customers and the service at the reception is a BIG 0.

I got a very honest, detailed precise, consultation about bleaching my hair from Bianca the hair colourist. However, while I really appreciate her consult, I would not go back to her. She told me my hair was not ready to get bleached. I agreed because I understand she is the professional. But then she was very aggressive and harsh with her comments. I was not insisting on getting the highlights. but she kept bashing my hair as if she was trying to convince me! I had already accepted her consult and was asking other questions. I did not enjoy the fact that she was loudly repeating how terrible my hair is and that I was not understanding her! She ended up doing my roots only. To be honest, she did a great job. I'm sure she is excellent at colouring the hair but perhaps she can be even more professional by being respectful and nicer when she is giving her comments. I then got an excellent haircut by Mary L. It turned out to be the best haircut I was given in years. She was gentle and precise. took an entire hour to carefully do all the layers. she made me feel great after my first experience at the salon. I will definitely recommend her to anyone.

Went for a hair cut with Sonia. She seems very nice but was very rough with my hair, hacking through it with a comb and her fingers. Pulling on it really hard as she cut. I was instinctively moving my head away from her and she kept getting upset, telling me to keep my head up. My scalp is still sore the next day. I was too afraid to say something to her. Although the haircut itself was nice, the experience was unpleasant and probably led to me losing an unnecessary amount of hair.

I got my haircut and it was terrible, call the manager to see if she would do anything and she said yes what can I do to help? So I suggested that she booked me for highlights because he has chopped them all off, and then imagine she charged me for them! Charging me $130 is no gift you should tell your client if you're going to charge them when you give them restitution for a bad job done! So at the end of the day I paid 80 plus dollars for a haircut that I hated, then I paid another $130 for highlights that he chopped off and prior to that (my horrible haircut) was paid for my first set of highlights at $120! I will not be returning. kathy the manager told me she would make it right; this is not right. I was too embarrassed to say anything but I should have.

I went this morning at 8 to do my hair for a wedding. By the time I got home my hair was flat. I asked for an updo and the women was barely able to make a proper braid. They started curling my hair before is was completely dry and then they had to start with the blow dryer again. I went with two other girls in the bridal party all of our hair was flat by 10. place is beautiful but looks like not all staff either cares or is invested in quality of their work. when you book a package with a set advertised and confirmed over the phone price , please understand this IS NOT what you'll get. Some staff appeared too busy to address some customers while slaving over others for hours trying to perfect a look. Getting rushed because it's time for an employee to take her break or desperately get in touch with her phone while providing a service is really not what any customer looks for... Also when someone shows up with a picture of what they'd like, it is really not the time for staff to get creative unless the customer asks for that. If it cant be done for whatever reason, it's only courteous to let the customer know. This place is lacking in attentiveness and customer service skills . While i got the sense there was a sprinkle of great staff in there, unfortunately unless you know who they are, chances are you'll get mediocre at best.... Buyer beware.

From the moment of booking, hair and makeup trials and the day of the wedding they were so accommodating. Daphne is the wedding coordinator and she is fantastic, polite and answered all of my questions. She is also an amazing makeup artist. This was my 1st and last time going for a manicure here. I was asked to wait in the front and then they forgot about me. The manicurist came looking for me and was annoyed because she thought I was 15 minutes late. Then I asked to see the colours of polish and she said it wasn’t possible that she would bring some colours to me. Very strange to not be able to choose your own colour. At the end of my manicure it looked like a 3 year old did my nails. I came home and took off the polish and now I need to wait for my nails to grow back to their original shape since they were Filed so poorly. I would never recommend Avanti!!

I chose Avanti Spa for my hair & makeup for my wedding and I was not disappointed one bit. I first visited the salon a few months prior to my wedding to meet with Rose, the director of special events. On that day, I also had a free, brief, mini-trial with the hairdresser and the makeup artist that would be assigned to me on the day of my wedding. I followed up with a full hair & makeup trial, as recommended, 2 weeks before my wedding. This really put me at ease, knowing that I did not have to worry about my actual look on my wedding day. On wedding day, my appointments were on time and the results were exactly like my trial. I also brought my 2 bridesmaids with me, and they were both very happy with their results. My hair and makeup looked amazing in my pictures and held up all night.... What more could I ask for? Thank you Rose, and her team of artists. You really know how to treat a bride :-)

Had a HORRIBLE experience getting my eyebrows Microbladed by Ecaterina Cioban !! Please don’t get anything done by her. This is my first time writing a bad review that’s how disappointed and regretful i am to have ever trusted her ! And for 450$ Microblading + 100$ touch up. There is so many good technicians that charge half the price please don’t make the same mistake i did. Her Instagram page will make you think you’re gonna get the perfect eyebrows but that ended up to be the complete opposite for me. The final results are very different from the before and after photos she advertises. She changed the shape of my eyebrows without my permission and plucked hald of my eyebrows without my knowing. When she finished i was shocked and told her that i didn’t like what she did, she told me that once they heal they’re gonna look good and natural, that wasn’t true, my eyebrows are now worse that before i had come to her, they have now two arch and the one she did doesn’t have any hairs it’s just shade and doesn’t look natural at all, it looks like i got my eyebrows badly tattooed. I texted her multiple times asking her politely to please give me another appointment and fix them but she was always very arrogant and rude and told me that i was the first person to ever complain which wasn’t true as per another bad review on yelp (this person had the exact same experience as me). I’m a very understanding person and I wish she would’ve at try to listen or be helpful. I would never trust this person with my face again. I went to a few other eyebrow technicians to get them fixed and they all told me that she doesn’t seem to know what she’s doing. I just hope I’ll be able to get them removed

There are many MANY different people who work in this salon who's service quality range from very bad to very good. I've had my hair done by maybe 5 or 6 different people here and I would say only 1 or 2 were good. The rest were mediocre to very bad. I didn't enjoy how one of the stylists smoked a cigarette, didn't wash his hands and touched my hair and head. I have nothing against smokers. You do you but it stunk and I think it shows a lack of respect. Try to be referred to someone who's had experience with the stylist/technician. There are too many people working here and it's just a big game of Russian roulette.
