I live far away but this is the only place I come to get my haircut. The staff is friendly, and it is located at the intersection of Yonge and Finch. They have many Korean and Japanese hair stylists that can give you the style you are looking for.

Sylvia is the best stylist for me and my family but other stylists seem skillful as well. My 3 years old-girl stayed in calm while getting a hair cut from Sylvia. Everybody is super nice and my homegurl Jina always makes sure i look minty fresh and wont let me get stupid haircuts thatll make me look like a 5 dolla ho on the street. Jina left though, so now i go to TEDDY. He's super cool . I'm convinced every hairstylist there is equally as good so even if you dont get teddy, y'all are in good hands. just be SUPER SPECIFIC of what you want or else u'll be disappointed. Having lived in this area for quite a while I feel bad that I never walked in here until today. The staff were very friendly and welcoming even though I didn't have an appointment. I ended up making an appointment for 3 hours later and came back close to closing. While waiting I was happy to see that the other customers seemed very happy. Which was my first indication the place would be pretty good. A men's cut was posted at $20 and there was a disclaimer that said the stylist could add an additional amount for long or thick hair. Now I'm the rare kind of guy who gets his hair cut twice a year and my stylist (Mai) was almost in shock when I showed her my old photo. But the end result maybe the best hair cut I've had in a long while if not ever. Though I was a bit quiet she was very professional and got a good idea of what I wanted up front. I felt bad for all the trouble I put her though but will definitely go back. And once all the haor was trimmed away I was happily surprised to be charged the base $20 rate. They accept cash and debit and an appointment is really recommended. But it looks like you can book it same day and still get seen in many cases. They filled up their bookings at around 5:45 pm on this Sunday evening. They do pack their bookings very tightly so I did have to wait 10-15 minutes over my appointment time but the tiny seating area was comfortable enough.

Got my hair bleached for the first time with Jamie and I can't be more satisfied with the result. She made sure that to the best of her abilities, that she can achieve the hair colour that I would want despite my hair having certain qualities that will cause major problems. In the end, my hair turned out a lot better than I could have imagined and for what I paid, it's more than what I could have wished for :) Thank you Jamie and Yonge Salon!

Convenient location right at Finch and Yonge. Prices are reasonable. Staff are friendly. They have a very handy booking system online that reminds you of your appointment. Would highly suggest booking online instead of walking in. I've gone twice and had my hair cut by two separate ladies. They were both friendly and talkative. My cuts would look good leaving the place but unfortunately they don't hold up on their own after sleeping and wash at home and require some styling.

I had a magic straight perm with Lisa yesterday. I got a fantastic result. My hair is very coarse and curly. But she was professionally dealing with it. I usually go and get my hair done at this salon as the staff were really nice. Unfortunately today, I am not pleased with the hair stylist that attended me. Everything’s looks good until she asked me for MORE tip, implying that it is “customary”. Just a piece of advice - “customary” is free will and shouldn’t be asked like it’s mandatory. It is NOT mandatory to give tip! Although it is a common practice, tipping is optional and shouldn’t be forced with customers.

Great Salon! The barbers here are excellent. I usually go here for a regular haircut and they do an amazing job. They patiently hear all the instructions and are meticulous in execution. The hair products they use are also high quality and you will leave the salon feeling like a new person! They also have an online reservation system so you can book your preferred barber in advance instead of calling them up. Highly recommended.

Update (04 Aug 2021): I needed a cut so I decided to give this place another try. I booked Misizu and was very disappointed again. She did not know what a taper was, and asked me what the difference was between a taper and a fade. Why does a professional need to ask a customer to describe a simple industry term such as this? Honestly, I have zero confidence in the skills of their stylists and would recommend everyone not to come unless you can teach their own stylists how to do your hair. Older review: I went to see Jay after reading reviews on Google from men who liked his cuts. I specifically asked for a longer consultation so that he knew what I wished to avoid. I had asked for "no mushroom haircuts". As soon as the haircut was complete, the first person outside the salon who saw it said, "your hair looks like a mushroom."

My bf and I went there for haircut and we are super satisfied with the result! I did a treatment and a haircut with Jamie. She is so amazing! She listened to me very patiently and made sure she understand what I wanted. I told her I wanted the treatment to last for 2 weeks for the wedding, so she tried her best and put lots of product on my hair to make sure the smoothness can last for 2 weeks. Now my hair is so silky smooth. The haircut was also exactly what I wanted. I’m so impressed by her service! My bf got his hair done with Sylvia. We wanted her to do the same hairstyle for my bf as a screenshot online and she did with 100% similarity! With all the good service, the price is fair too. We both will come back for haircut for sure. Thanks again for the great experience!

Pretty busy here. Sit on stools on the side while waiting. I have long hair and got a wash and cut for $35. There was no massage while she shampooed my hair. When she cut my hair she just cut it straight across so there's no shape just blunt cut on the bottom. She dried my hair straight but not the style I wanted when I showed her the picture. My friend got his haircut for $25 and it was horrible. The fade on the sides and the top was all choppy. Can see the harsh lines.

Coming from two decades of Korean hair salons, they definitely provide better customer service and care to cuts than the average. My boyfriend has been coming here for years for his cuts twice a month (sometimes even commuting from Kitchener because he’s that loyal lol!) and has recently converted me. Our only complaint is that their prices have been increasing and is a little pricy for a Korean hair salon, but I guess it’s worth it in the finished product!

I always go to Yuka to do my hair and she has such a great attention to detail and is so sweet!! I was colouring my bleached hair back dark and she gave me a price quote before we started!. She also took the time to cut as many split ends off of my hair as she could and cut my bangs exactly how I wanted them. She even showed me her technique to curl my hair at the end :)

Worst experience, I've been coming here for many years and met with yujin today as my previous barber moved on. She gave me a different haircut than I asked and had to trim twice after the wash. Everything was done in less than 10mins, I left with hair all over my shirt as well. Definitely not going back again.

A friend recommended that I go to this salon and I'm glad that I did. Sylvia did a great job cutting my hair, giving me nicely shaped layers and bangs. I appreciated that she worked quickly but also paid attention to detail, going over each section multiple times to be sure that everything was to her and my satisfaction. I also really like that this salon is open until 8pm which meant that I had a chance to go after I put my daughter to sleep for the night. Give Yonge Hair Salon a try! Prices are very reasonable and the location is easily accessible by car or transit.

*Update* The price has gone up to $30 + tips for wash and cut. For the quality you get here and the price, I can no longer recommend this place. I highly recommend going to another place because for that price, you can get much better service, quality, and communication. ------------------------------- I've been to this place many times and there are many different hair stylists at this place and not all of them all good, so the quality of hair cuts you will get are VERY inconsistent. Unless you know a hair stylist to ask for I would skip this place. Some do not speak English very well and you will likely not get what you are asking for. The price at this place is $25 for a haircut. It's not that bad but for the random and sometimes low quality and time spent on you its like going to a cheaper place. So yea, your experience will greatly vary.
