There is a golden rule for good business and that is to treat every client as a privilege and not a right. This is not a philosophy this salon believes in. They are pretentious and gouging for subprime service. They treat you as though you should be so lucky to have gotten an appointment. When you are in a chair all you can overhear is staff fighting each other over clients and hours - it’s an insidious culture. There is a tone of room for competition to enter this market. Guaranteed residents are fed up!! Definitely not worth the fees, the wait or horrible service!

Krystal did balayage for me in Spring 2016 when I was working there short-term (didn't have a chance to leave a review until now haha) My hair was alright- not bad but I was just disappointed that my hair looked nothing like what I expected. I showed multiple pictures of dark ash grey balayage to the stylist and it turned out dark brown, which was a slightly lighter shade compare to my original hair color. As time passes, my hair DID become lighter and the color was more obvious, even the color was blonde rather than the ashy grey that I asked for, and it was pretty grassy too. Before bleaching, I also asked the hair stylist if what I looked for was achievable (I usually need at least 2 sessions of bleaching to get color for my Asian hair) during consultation, the hair stylist didn't say that she couldn't. Throughout the appointment, it didn't felt like the stylist cared enough- she not brief/ explain much to me during consultation or when I asked her questions. It was just a disappointing experience for me.

It's very sad they took my credit card details so quickly and were very unhelpful to offer me solutions for my hair or makeup for my wedding. Nobody reached out to cancel my appointment, I found and figured when looking at its instagram. I feel very sorry for all brides that don't have options in the area, this place gets an immediate referral by venues for its proximity. I suggest you hire a mobile makeup hair artist. Update: I was asked to take this review down by the actual person who was the main contact since 2020. Even if it really represents my side of the story , I came here to delete it and let her business go with a rate that I don't think it deserves. But I found the comment below, I do have to say that I stand on what I said and I believe any customer or potential client should have the right to use her voice and share her experience. I had different vendors for my wedding, all of them were helpful and proactive with exemption of the Hudson hair salon. I found a last minute make up artist that taught me virtually how to do my own makeup and hair. Just a quick example that when you care about your clients you don't let them hanging in such an important date.

I so recommend Monessa for your next manicure or pedicure. Made my feet feel like I was walking on a cloud. Nails lasted 2 months and no clipping. To top it off my feet were in boots most days. Cant wait until my next appointment!

I recently went for the first time and fell in love with the experience I received. My stylist was Tasha, and I absolutely adore her! I’m fairly new to Huntsville and have heard great things about this salon from co-workers so I wanted to check it out. I made an appointment online through their website. When I showed up, they said I wasn’t in the system and the person I booked with isn’t even supposed to start working for 2 weeks. Within seconds, they rearranged schedules and assured me I would get in. The haircut was great, the environment was relaxing and the overall experience was handled with a high level of professionalism. Can’t wait to return.

In the last 3 years the Hudson Hair Salon & Spa has been my go to for hair care. Always accommodating, welcoming and flexible they truly care about the product they put forward from the minute you make the call to the moment you walk confidently out the door. Their spaces are clean, organized and well thought out as far as flow, decor and lighting. Although I have had a few different stylist cut my hair at each location, Carissa is my rock!! She will always ask how the cut has worked out, what maybe needs to changed or addressed and constantly looks to improve on her last job. Happy they are open again and over the moon to know they are busy! 10/10 would recommend

So disappointed! I feel like I threw $200 in the garbage. I had a keratin treatment in April, and the stylist messed it up. Having had keratin treatments before I followed all the proper steps: did not wash, wet or even tie back for 72 hours, etc. The results were nothing. My hair was exactly the same as before. In past treatments at other salons I would have experience smoother, more manageable hair for a couple of months. In this case my hair was exactly the same. I contacted them about the problem, and they did not offer any remedy, for me to come back in so they could try to fix their mistake or anything. I literally feel cheated and so upset that I wasted my money for nothing. I am getting better results with an at home product I got for $6 at Winners. Will never go back.

I don't want to get into what I went through with this hair salon, but the moral of the story is to MAKE SURE you're happy with your hair before they leave and that they don't book two weddings in one day. My wedding was the second on their list and we paid for it. ...but so did the salon when I asked for my money back, which they agreed to do without any issues. They accepted that everything that unfolded was their fault and took full responsibility, which is very big of them and a good gesture.

I had a great experience my first time there. It was not busy at all (everyone was away doing weddings) it was just me, the stylist and receptionist. Loved the atmosphere and it was very clean inside too! Highly recommend and will return!

WORST HAIR EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! I went to get highlights and lowlights in my medium long, fine but full hair. The stylist recommend balayage instead. I started to get worried when it had been 2 hours since she started with the bleach, so asked if it was ok. She said it would be fine as she used "a different volume processor for the back". I knew no matter what she used, no one had ever left bleach on me this long in my life, especially since I have fine hair. Over 2 hours later with the bleach on my hair, she rinsed me out, and my hair started coming out in clumps with the foils. My hair had completely disintegrated and left a bald patch at the bottom back of my head that I didn't even notice until I got home and really looked!!! It was horrific, I bawled my eyes out for a week!! I was so upset and embarrassed, I litteraly didn't leave my house for over 6 months until it got at least we'll enough to be able to put it in a bun. My hair was long before but it had become patchy and didn't have enough anymore to put it in a bun because she litteraly melted my hair off. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!! I went in Oct 2018 and my has only just started to be somewhat normal again, two and a half years later!!!

Mel Amosow is by far one of the best stylists I have ever been to! After years of searching for someone who can do my hair in a way that I like, I have finally found someone who is not only extremely talented, but also friendly and professional. Mel treats all of her guests with respect and has a genuine passion for her career. It is clear to me that she loves what she does and is constantly inspired to better herself and learn new techniques. Getting my hair done usually makes me nervous due to some negative experiences I have had at other salons, but I completely trust Mel and believe that she has the best judgment when it comes to treating and styling hair. The owners Tasha and Tanya have a great business sense and have created two successful establishments both in their Huntsville and Port Carling locations. Their sister Tammy also adds to making this business successful! Tasha has been my hair stylist for the past four years and her expertise and knowledge in the art of hair sculpturing is unbelievable! My chosen hair colour before the pandemic was golden blonde and like so many other women during the last six months I decided to grow my hair out to my natural silver/gray colour. Tasha's skill and knowledge of hair colour and foil techniques certainly did not disappoint me. She magically created "the new me". My husband called my new look of silver shoulder length hair "stunning" and that is the best compliment I could wish for thanks to Tasha.

Extremely traumatizing experience! Even one star is way too generous. I will NEVER recommend this salon to anybody. The experience I had there was worse than a painful dentist appointment. I had a better experience with First Choice Haircutters and did not have to pay the outrageous rate. I was ignored by the "stylist" with 15 years of experience, all the time I was in that chair and at the end all she had to say is that it looks "cute", knowing that she botched my hair. Please save your hair and money, and don't go anywhere near this place!

All of the staff are amazing to work with and truly listen to their clients needs. Kirsten in particular does an incredible job! After sitting in the chair with wet hair dripping down my back for over 10 minutes while my stylist talked on the phone, I finally left. I had to walk to my car , start it turn on to the Main Street and as I passed by the salon, she was still on the phone??????? They didn't even notice I was gone. Sent an email saying they were booking an apt with a customer. Did that include plans for Friday night dinner that I heard being discussed? Never, ever going back there again

Went to get my nails done for the first time in about eleven years. Super nervous of course as I had absolutely no idea what to expect. The Hudson hair salon is absolutely beautiful, when inside you almost feel like a princess or as though you have stepped into another world. I met with Monessa one of the nail ladies there. She immediately made me feel comfortable and welcome. I showed her a picture of what I had wanted and she was able to recreate the photo beautifully. She is so helpful, giving me advice on her off time on how to remove gel products. I will forever be going to Monessa for my spa needs ???? I highly recommend her. I can’t wait to go back again!!!

Just had the ladies from the Hudson Hair Salon do the hair and make-up for my wedding. The came all the way down to Gravenhurst to our hotel and arrived before scheduled. The ladies were so friendly and did an amazing job with both hair and make-up. Very open to personal requests and very accommodating. A few of girls in my wedding party even want to travel all the way up to the salon for a regular hair cut/colour. Thank you so much to the salon for nailing it on my wedding day!

Muskoka is so fortunate to have Tasha and her team of talented hair artists here! I always leave feeling incredible! I usually have my hair lightened quite a bit and the structure and integrity of my hair remains even after the bleaching process. It is healthy and strong. Worst salon experience ever!!! The prices are crazy and do not match what is posted on the front door. It took 8 hours for me to get my nails and hair highlighted. I left with my hair soaking wet. I paid $549.00 and also want to mention I had brown hair die left on the entire crown of my head. The young girl who did my nails was a sweetheart and wonderful however, she just graduated a month ago and is not experienced enough for the prices you charged. Shame on you! There was also black hair and tons of dust on walls and floor. Did not feel like a clean place at all. I'm so sad because I was hopeful to find a good place to come to regularly. I will never go to this salon again. Management has a lot of work to do.

My spouse travels 2 hrs from out of town for appointments because she loves the stylist. She has tried to get in twice in the past 6 months and both appointments cancelled last minute. The appointment today cancelled while she was driving to it, 10 minutes before. Understanding extenuating circumstances from a staffing perspective the salon has made no effort to try to make good on these cancelations or offer any options to accomdate the customer. I know this because I called in to try to and plea with them to try to squeeze her in, but was only told "so sorry" and nothing can or will be done. It would seem that if you are not a frequent customer your business is not valued. The one star rating is for the business unwilling to make any accommodations for someone traveling out of town and make good on the consecutive cancellation of appointments. Stylists are great!

My husband goes to see Monessa for pedicures and I go to see her for brow tinting and my pedicures! She has great talent with her nail designs, she is very welcoming and makes you feel very comfortable! The salon and spa has a very warm clean comforting atmosphere! Never disappointed!

I am so not happy or impressed at all! I have been a client for the past few years and as prices increase I see the owners service DECREASE! Don't get me wrong I LOVE my stylist Kristal, if it wasn't for her I would NEVER return! What business asks you to take off your shoes and wear Crocs that God only knows who else was wearing or be told I can come in my socks! There is hair all over the floor and they want me to wear my socks? Seal your floors if that is your issue and think about what is best for your PAYING clients. What happen to your bottle water? I was offered a water and was given a cup with a straw, how exactly do you wash the straws as I didn't see the person serving me change it out. Seriously, a case of bottle water is pennies and Hunstville recycles so not sure what that is about! I am not a germafobe but this is all a bit much!!! So, if you want all of the above, moved through like you are on an assembly line, music so loud I can't speak to my stylist or leave with a headache then good luck to you!!!! Again, I will stress, Kristal is and always is an amazing stylist and lady but the changes to this salon by the Owners and the increases to price and decrease to service it not worth my money!!! I want to leave my salon of choice feeling better than I walked in and this is NO longer the case at The Hudson!!!

Disappointing to say the least. I booked here because everyone said it was "the best". When I called to make an appointment I asked for someone with experience, particularly with curly hair. She must have forgotten when she was telling me all about an event on the day of my appointment with cupcakes etc. I was booked with a junior stylist, and everyone but me was offered cupcakes. I had been booked in for a partial colour as that was in my mat-leave budget. My stylist said that balyage? Was considered partial. I thought it odd, but it's beautiful - and I paid for it. Although having photos of the cut when I walked in, she didn't know how to cut it. She did ask, and got direction. If I had straight hair, it would be great. I did caution that the back couldn't be too short, or it would never lay flat. It won't lay flat, it's going to be a summer of growing out an awkward haircut. The colour isn't good enough to make up for that. Sad to say that I'll have to find somewhere else to take my daughter on the girl's day that I had promised.

Didn't have a regular salon since we just moved from Toronto, so tried the Hudson based on other reviews. So impressed with everything from the atmosphere to the staff and of course how my hair turned out. First time I've ever left any salon feeling like they accomplished exactly what I was asking for, since most stylists are afraid to take you too blonde. I wanted to be light silver blonde, and now I am. Catherine is amazing! I'm definitely going back!

I booked hair and make up for my wedding with the Hudson, for myself, my bridesmaids, as well as my mom and her friend. I also had a mani/pedi the day before the wedding. The trials and the day of went really well -- everyone was happy with how things turned out, despite the stylist that I had my hair trial with leaving the salon before my wedding date, and having a completely different stylist for the day of. I have to leave a negative review because they overcharged our account, and are now no longer responsive to my requests to refund the difference (It's been ~ 1 month, despite emails and phone calls). It's unfortunate that such a good experience was spoiled after the fact. Will not be returning, or recommending this business in the future. Update: After posting this review, the refund was initiated and has been received.
