I went to The Cellar to get a completely new cut. The staff and stylist were friendly, professional and warm from the moment I walked in the door. They were also super friendly with one another and always offering to help. The stylist asked me what I wanted in a hair cut, discussed my hair goals, and gave me some ideas about what would look good on me and what would work for my lifestyle. After my cut and style, the owner came over to chat about my cut and ask me how I liked it. 10/10 can't wait to go back!

Service was friendly, but the haircut was just aweful. I had to go to a different salon to fix it. UPDATE: the owners contacted me after I posted this review. They were extremely nice and offered a redo or a refund. I added a star because the service was really top notch, even if the haircut wasn't. Oh well, it happens.

I got a cut and moisture treatment here- my hair was in really rough shape, had been through a terrible and uneven cut, and Soo did an amazing job fixing it. I have long hair and am quite particular- she listened well and did exactly what I wanted and was able to fix it and give me a great cut that I'm really happy with. I will be back for sure. Great atmosphere, experienced stylists, and they go above and beyond with customer service.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this salon!! I've been going here for over 2 years now and have had my hair cut and coloured by a few different staff so far (my most recent colorist being Jeff) but I have loved it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The quality of their work is remarkable, as is their customer service! The Owner (Aaron) is very sweet; and the Manager (Melissa) is an absolute gem who has always gone above and beyond to make my visits as comfortable and convenient as possible. I have recommended relatives and friends here before; and would 100% recommend it to anyone who is looking for a salon of exceptional quality and service.

The lockdowns we have had this year have been hard on me, especially when it came to my hair. This is why being able to go to treat myself here has made me especially happy. I came in twice this year with level 1 hair (black box dye hair) and was so happy I did! Not only did I see fantastic results from Aaron who transformed my black hair into a beautiful warm balayage in September and Leanne who made my hair a bit cooler a couple of months later but I was treated like a queen from the beginning until the end. Aaron, Leanne, and each member of the team take great pride in their skills and service to each client and it shows! I cannot recommend them enough and cannot wait to be back!

I absolutely LOVE this salon. The stylist/staff are all super sweet, upbeat, professional and amazing at what they do! I have had some pretty not so great experience at other salons where I felt the need to keep an eye on things but at The Cellar Salon, I can confidently relax and have a few glasses of wine while the stylists work their magic .... which has made this experience even better for me!! My hair always turns out perfect. :) Excellent value for their price; I’m so happy I found this salon. Being able to look and feel fabulous at a reasonable price point is a blessing and refreshing unlike other places that over charge. Soo did a wonderful job on consultation before she cut, listened and HEARD me when I explained how my hair is (wildly curly) and that my hair routine is rudimentary at best. the style is easy care for me which is great. She also took the time to explain how I can easily maintain it at home. I also appreciate that you staff got me in at the last minute. My own Christmas miracle. Thank you. And the tea and cookies were a lovely touch. oh.. and the CELLAR is on the second floor.. lol.. don't be as confused as I was.

One of the worst salons I have been to in terms of quality of service and caring for customers. They book their hair stylist too short for colors so you end up on other stylists hands at the end of your service. No one cares how the customer has been taking care of and you might end up going home finding colors left over in your hair or around your ears and face. The stylists damage your hair if you get highlights here.

I've been coming here for 2 years now and I plan to continue. The skill level is high. I've had my hair coloured (T-Bar Balayage) by the colour tech (Darren) and also my hair cut by Sarah and Sooran. They are all amazing! I am so happy with the results and it really shows in all the compliments I get. I also love Aaron's cute dog who is usually sitting peacefully somewhere in the salon.

The Cellar Salon is a fabulous space full of insanely talented hair stylists. I've had my hair cut by September, coloured and braided with Shandella, and styled by Briar. I'm continuously happy with my services there. Not to mention, pricing is fantastic for such a high price area. They're seriously adamant about safety and cleanliness especially during the pandemic. All the assistants are continuously cleaning up, spraying down surfaces and sanitizing seats between clients. Everyone wears masks 100% of the time. I highly appreciate all the hard work this salon was doing prior to this second lockdown and will be returning once salons reopen. I also recommend the Cellar to all of my friends and coworkers when they mention they need their hair done!

I got a balayage by Jeff and cut by September done, and could not be happier with the results! Both took the time to listen to what I wanted, while offering their honest opinion and advice all of which resulted in me being in love with the final product! The staff are super welcoming, the ambiance is great and my stylist Leanne couldn’t do enough for me. Before she even touched my hair, Leanne consulted with me for 20 mins about what it was I wanted to achieve and the steps she would take to do so. I don’t think I’ve ever had so much attention, care and detail given to my hair. The team collaborated so effectively with one another to ensure that I was taken care of and I genuinely felt like royalty! It's as good as it gets!! I love, love, love this Salon and my stylist Aaron. There is a reason he is a hair expert on the Marilyn Denis Show. He knows exactly what your hair style and colour should be to make you look and feel your absolute best! Aaron is excellent at listening to what you want, but also directing you in the right direction as to what will look best with the shape of your face and your skin tone. I told him that I wanted something that was low maintenance, and easy because I am a busy mom and don't always have time to do my hair or to go get it done. So he did ballyage in my hair in such a way that the colour blended together as it grew out and 6 months later it still looked as good as the day he did it! He will also recommend the proper products to use in your hair to keep it looking it's best! The Cellar Salon is so quaint and cozy and everyone that works there make you feel right home. They offer you a beverage and you can watch your favourite TV show, or browse your favourite magazine on a tablet. This salon is the true meaning of high end service without the high end price tag. I highly recommend it. Once you try it once, you will never want to go anywhere else!

The Cellar Salon scores 10/10 for everything; - location (literally 1 minute from Bay subway) - staff friendliness and making you feeling welcome (everyone is super friendly, they offer you everything from coffee to wine, iPads, magazines, and take the time to chat to get to know you while making you look like a million bucks) - MOST importantly Aaron and his team are an incredible group of stylists. The Cellar Salon is the best in Toronto. They take their business seriously and don't mess around with COVID protocols to make for a safe experience for all clients and staff. They offer coffee, tea, water and alcoholic beverages for you to enjoy. They have a gorgeous patio to sit on while you wait. There are gender neutral bathrooms. My hair colour appointment with Sarah went flawlessly, and then Shandella did a wicked style for me afterwards. I left feeling like a new woman. I used to go to a lot of random places or get my friends to do my hair. But I really appreciate the service that I get here. The staff is very friendly and they care about their work so they make sure to consult you first before they do anything or give you best possible styles for your hair. My favorite thing about a salon is when they listen and that's what they do. I give 4 stars just because it is a bit pricey however the service does make up for that.

I wanted my hair back to blond, as I have allot of whites. I showed the hairstylist the colour I want on the picture of me and told the stylist what my previous hairstylist did before he retired from hair business. Instead I got really awful greyish/ beige colour! I did pay, did not want to be mean, but I am really upset! Now I am going to look for the shampoo, which removes colour - after I payed $200+. I do not recommend this place to no one. Stuff is friendly, but that has nothing to do with a capability to do the hair!!!

I've been a customer of The Cellar Salon for a few years and I'd like to share some information. I've always been lazy and just bottle coloured my hair and I never spend time or money on my hair. I met Aaron and he gave me a makeover to die for. I was hooked... I moved out of the city almost 2 hours away but I refuse to go anywhere else. I'm kind of easy going and when I get a chance to take a day and travel to T.O, I'll call in and book an appt. Melissa is always accommodating with me and because I don't have much flexiblilty with dates and times, I have seen many of the Stylists in the Salon. My opinion is that if they are working at the Cellar then they are all equal capable and talented. That is probably the best part - you can see any person there and they will give you the same great treatment and your hair is always as determined before the appt. I bring my kids for a special treat and my mother as well. Leanne, Sarah, Claire, September, John and So to just name a few who have had a hand in my hair . I will mention that they have worked on me for awhile and habe not turned my mousey brown hair to a radiant warm light bloned with goegeous sunkissed highlights throughout. It's not brassy looking and my grey grows in without looking like I have enormous grey roots! I highly reccomend The Cellar Salon for the above obvious reasons and simply because the experience is awesome. Everyone is nice, polite and cheerful. It's like walking into a friend's place. You are treated to a day at the Salon and it feels like it's money we spent. I find that they are very competitively priced eapecially for thr area. A trip to the Salon is worth it and if you haven't had your hair done there then you are missing out... The talent in that place is incredible!!!

My stylist is Steven and I have been also helped by September . First of all from the moment you step into the salon, you are greeted so warmly from whomever is manning the reception area ... just a bunch of sweet hearts .. but my review is mainly on my last visit , I hadn't seen Steven in a Year almost to the date ... he greeted me as warm as possible w physical distancing .. lol Little did Steven know he would be my therapist this day ... we chatted about the challenges this year has brought for both of us and what we miss the most ... He let me vent and share personal details that I hadn't shard with anyone ... all that was missing was the pint of ice cream in my lap (maybe you can add that to the menu ) After it was all said and done , cut complete and added touches to the style ... Steven says so what do you think .... my eyes swelled with tears.... for the first time in a while - I felt human ... was able to forget the BS covid situation ... and felt pretty again.... and thought to myself " Oh there she is !" I never truly appreciated the experience before , and just shows the smallest act of kindness of just listening engaging in conversation can mean so much to the other person... No business is perfect , and sometime sure a company can miss the mark, but my experience with your salon and team is ... that you try so hard to never miss the mark ... Went in for an appointment with Sooran who did a good job with what I had asked for however, after a couple of washes I really didn’t like how the color stayed on so I emailed these guys and they promptly booked me in for a fix up with John that same week for free (who did a great job with the fix up). The wash was done slowly and was relaxing (I don't like if this part is rushed) and the cut and blowdry was meticulous. It was my first time at the Cellar salon and dying my hair as well, so I was very nervous. However, not only is the staff very friendly and make you feel welcomed and comfortable right away. But they also have a facebook account, so all of ur questions are answered within minutes. The first time I was not sure what I wanted so I just showed a picture. They did it, but I was not happy with the results, so I explained my worries and not only were they able to book me an appointment within days, but the whole service was free! I’m surprised the review here are so good but when I actually went to do my hair, I feel like it’s the worst experience I’ve ever had. I read the reviews and check instagram pages of every stylist before I booked the appointment. After two weeks waiting, I was notified on the spot my hair would be cut by the other hairdresser. The salon did send an email but I thought it’s just a reminder so I didn’t open it. What makes me feel bad is the way the stylist talked to me, like she doesn’t care, if I want her to cut my hair, I need to come next time. I really don’t know what to say and I’m waiting this day to get my hair done. Then she just spend like one minute to ask how I want my hair. I didn’t prepare pictures how I want my hair because I would like to discuss and listen to the professional to give me ideas. I heard the guest sit next to me, the stylist was giving her so many ideas, and me didn’t even get a glass of water at the moment. Then next three hours she’s pulling my hair so bad it hurts so much, or washed by extremely hot or cold water. Anyway, I like the results, my hair looks good. But the service is horrible. Even tho it’s first time 40%off but still it’s not cheap. I don’t think I’ll go again for this service. Not worth it¡

First of all I'd like to say how excited I am that Aaron has his own salon. I've been going to Aaron since he has been in Canada which is 4 years now I think. I visited him before he left for Ireland and I got the chance to experience his new place. Aaron is an expert at his craft and specializes in balayage and I searched for someone for one year to do this and eventually after countless research on the internet I found Aaron. He really is one of, if not the best colorist and cutters in the city and humble too. He is also on the Marilyn Denis show as the hair expert, I can't speak highly enough for him. I met his team and they are highly experienced and I think his salon will do extremely well. One of the biggest perks was the surroundings, it actually looks like a wine cellar. Not only that I was given a tablet with netflix and magazine subscriptions, Nice touch guys!! This is my new salon with my same Stylist I couldn't be happier.

This place was fantastic!!! Honestly they were so nice and down to earth, I definitely felt more at ease here than other salons in the past. I went here for a full head balyage with the amazing Darren and haircut with the wonderful Sarah. Sarah was excellent, very straight to the point and very knowledgable whilst still being super friendly. She told me what she thought would work but also listened to what I wanted. 10/10 haircut! This was my first time dying my hair ever and I really appreciated Darren's advice/recommendations for colour during our consultation. I absolutely loved the outcome and how well the hair melted/blended together into a beautiful gradient brunette (my natural colour) to caramel cool blonde. I'll most definitely be back for more colour in the future!

I was received so warmly and was given a hair treatment before seeing September again. I explained what Iook I wanted to achieve and she did a fantastic cut. Melissa emailed me right after I posted this review and offered to fix my hair when it would be convenient for me. I truly appreciate the offer. This was my first time at the Cellar the staff was very nice and welcoming. I had my hair cut by September. It's ok but not great. The one side feels thicker and flipping which is something I did not want and mentioned when we chatted. Now I have to let my hair grow until it can get fixed. A bit disappointed after reading all the 5 star reviews on the salon.

The staff were friendly and they have a liquor license which made me jump for joy as I had a hard day so little glass of wine did the trick. Most of all I loved loved my hair. I had a Balayage done and it was beyond my expectations. Thank you to Sarah and Clare for such a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to go back

I've been going to Aaron and Rachel at The Cellar for several years now and I can't imagine going anywhere else. What really stood out for me is how much healthier my hair is now. I went in hoping for a good cut, Aaron gave me that but went a step further taking the time to help me understand how to use better tools, products etc to actually improve my hair. My hair is healthier, thicker and looks so much better now and I am so grateful. Most salons would just do a cut and send you on your way but Aaron truly cares about his clients - you feel that as soon as you sit down in his chair. He worked with me while I was pregnant making sure I always had ammonia free hair dye when I was coming in. Rachel is amazing as well, even after coming for years she takes the time to consult with me on each appointment and I love my colour more than ever now thanks to her. I've even started taking my 3 year old daughter for her trims and she loves it so much she's started asking to come with me when she knows I'm about to go in saying she 'needs a haircut'!

I found The Cellar Salon after much time crosschecking reviews with vaccine policies. It was great to attend a business that has clearly gone to great lengths to provide a safe environment for their customers and staff. I had a short/fade cut with September and am supremely happy with the results. I appreciated September's patience in listening to me explain what I was going for and then the attention to detail to deliver one of the best cut's I've had in a long time. If you're blonde or looking to go blonde: go see Sarah! I needed a colour fix and asked for a blonde expert. When I sat down in Sarah's chair, she was super friendly, knowledgeable and listened to me as I was a bit nervous. We chatted for about 15 minutes to make sure we were on the same page before getting started. My blonde turned out beautiful and I had a great time during my appointment! Sarah let me know what was going on each step of the way and we even made a change or two as she was working through my hair to make sure it would look it's best. Overall I am very happy! Shout out to Melissa as well - very kind, friendly and hospitable. I'll definitely be coming back!

It was a little hard to find at first - it's actually upstairs. I was a few mins late, but they were very polite and took me in right away. I had an appointment with Soo for a cut, and she did a wonderful job! Just exactly what I had asked for. The blow out after was also very well done. Definitely recommend it. Prices are decent compared to most other salons in the area.

Total rip-off. It states clearly $35 for a man’s haircut. I was charged an outrageous 50 + tax for a 25 minuted in and out cut. Yes this is not my real name because I don’t want to be harassed by you. Honesty brings you business and you just lost a new client.

Since the pandemic they have gone above and beyond to make their clients feel as safe as they possibly could.
