This is my first time to get a hair cut at Seefu, and my hairdresser, Jenny, is really a pro! She went extra steps to give me hair style suggestions, and provides me very useful tips about hair care. She even helped to style my clip in bang! Will definitely come back again.

I love this salon. I've been going for about 4 years and will never go anywhere else. Jay Wu is my stylist and he does an amazing job every time. I have very thick hair and it's the only place I've ever gotten cuts that I can maintain for longer than 5 or 6 weeks. Jay really takes the time to understand what I want (I go between longer and shorter styles) and I get a lot of compliments every time I get a new style. The bonus is that the price is low relative to other places, but I would pay more if I had to.

Hands down my best haircut ever, stylist Mina is from Tokyo she took so much effort and skills to help with me with my wave perm despite my stubborn stright hair, also they offer you shoulder massage and drinks as complimentary services and lockers to store your valuables. Im rarely this happy after haircuts. Price is not low but its worthwhile if you go every 2-3 months.

Would not visit again. Do not recommend. Asked for a men's cut and was asked after when paying why I wanted to pay boy's price if I'm a girl. I thought a hair salon in Toronto is supposed to be better than this. Ive been to many other places where they have no problem with this. It is just bad customer service.

I had kai as my hairdresser and she was awesome I had really damaged hair and wanted a shoulder length bob so I showed her a picture and she made it as close as possible and I love it. So I paid for cutting washing massage and styling only 50 bucks. Thanks guys :)

From the first visit here, I knew I'd never go anywhere else!!! I love this place...everything about it. Jay is my stylist -does an INSANELY meticulous job every time. As soon as I leave the salon - I get compliments!!....... from total strangers sometimes!!! As a guy, I find stylists either do too much or too little to my hair...with Jay- I show him a pic and he pulls it off to perfection. Leave a good tip- since its pretty cheap!!!

My experience with Seefu was great all the way through: since the phone call to the end. My hair stylist was Eiko. First, she went over some hair styles with me to understand what I wanted. At the end, I had a short hair cut (my hair has been long for years) and I absolutely love my new hair style! The price is also great compared to other places.

Got uneven and unsymmetrical hair cut. The barber is inexperienced and don’t speak English well. He tried really hard to fix it. Unfortunately, it’s a disappointment. The price is higher than other places. There are other cheaper places that offer great hair cut. The staff was very nice with good head and shoulder message.

Eiko is a true professional with great technique- she used one pair of scissors to cut, shape and thin out my hair which I appreciate because I am not a big fan of the thinning shears. Eiko transformed my shapeless long thick hair to a stylish lob. She is thoughtful and has great instincts- I didn't even need to make one suggestion because she was literally doing what I was thinking every time! You'd think in a city where there are hair salons on almost every block, that good hair stylists are a dime a dozen. But, you won't find one as skilled and meticulous as Eiko.

Eiko is the best. She is fast and detail oriented. She can recreate anything you show her. This place uses the Japanese hair cutting method. So they do the basic cut with your hair dry to ensure the length is right then they wash your hair and add the layers and details after. They also do a massage right after you come out of the hair washing station. The massages are just neck and shoulders but sometimes you get a really good one. It's hit or miss but more hits and otherwise. Plus a quick massage is always welcome! I love it here and keep coming back. Good prices. Fantastic cuts that last long after your hair grows out. Great service.

Came to Tony for a wash and cut on a weekday afternoon. The detail in the cut compared to my previous salon was like upgrading from 240p to 1080p, it was that much better. Adding the decent massage included in the price, the premium is well worth it.

Tried this place out because I'm half Chinese and hoped they would know what to do with my thick Asian hair. I booked online with Tony, and he did his best to copy a style I showed him on my phone. He was very careful and polite, and did a decent job. Unfortunately, I can be pretty picky about my hair and later in the day I realised the cut I got wasn't quite what I wanted. I happened to still be in the area, so I went back to Seefu in the hopes that it could be adjusted. Tony cut his break short to quickly get me into the chair, and make the adjustments I wanted (even additional ones I requested on the spot). He remained good-natured the entire time, and charged me nothing extra for the adjustments. This level of customer service alone will ensure I come here again. What a great place! Definitely recommend it. P.S. Free head, neck, and shoulder massage was dope!

Great prices, helpful front desk staff and great shampoo assistants. I had a wonderful haircut! They do not leave customers sitting unattended. The shampoo assistant gave a fantastic back massage after my wash. Only bad things are you're so close to the people next to you that it is very loud and I did not see any barbercide or disinfectant used on the combs.

I thought this was a Chinese hair saloon too! Also because they used Chinese characters in their store name and it's located in Chinatown. It turns out to be a Japanese store ???? I paid a visit to the store today and wanted to thank Riku for his amazing work! I felt I haven't fully expressed my appreciation because I was quite shy. He understands what I need and his tastes are great! I felt in love with my hair after I got home. The price is reasonable as I paid 200 for haircut as well as colouring. After getting a terrible haircut at a shady place elsewhere in Chinatown, I decided to try this place since it had great reviews, and I figured I needed a good person to fix the damage. The hairstylist was not only able to salvage it, but gave me a truly excellent cut. I was really pleasantly surprised. With a good tip, it ends up being about $50 (I had a rinse, cut, shampoo/scalp massage, shoulder massage, and style), which is more than I'm used to paying, but it seems like this place is consistently good, as the staff is meticulous and competent.

This salon is a gem for the quality of customer service and staffs expertise it provides. Everyone was accommodating and friendly, I was satisfied with the haircut. My stylist was diligent in making sure her work was done well. One thing to note is that for now it’s cash only. Went to the ATM for almost an hour and when I came back, she was very understanding.

I usually have my hair cut in Markham but since I live in downtown, I was hoping to find somewhere nice in downtown. This place is completely a disaster. I had my hair cut with Tony. In the beginning everything was nice. After the hair cut is done, how could you let the person wash your hair dry your hair?!!! Hair drying is one of the most important step for the final style. Obviously he was too busy cutting the next customer. And the staff that dries my hair is not even more experienced than myself. I can dry a better hair than she can. FOCUS ON QUALITY rather than QUANTITY!!!!!!!! Finish the first customer, then help the next. At the end of day, it’s about how many people love your hair cut, rather than how many customer you served today. I paid twice the price but got half the quality.

Stay far away if you have curly, frizzy hair. I suffered the most ridiculous hair cut of my life, and the girl beside me experienced a much worse version. Loyal customer for years-hospitality great. Great if you have straight, easy to handle hair. THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO HANDLE CURLY HAIR, AND DO NOT HAVE ANY/ADEQUATE EXPERIENCE WITH CURLS. They didn’t believe my previously “frizzy straight” hair was actually 2b curls, didn’t listen when I requested long layers. Instead, I got an above the shoulder, pyramid shaped, blunt chop, all one length. I could see the horror in the eyes of the girl who got the same thing, except elevated. It took 2.5 hours and two different hair stylists, before I was forced to finally tie my hair up and walk out in public with a pom pom on the back of my head from all the mayhem.

Oh god. The man who trimmed my bangs used a comb that still had someone elses hair on it... gross. He also trimmed my bangs 2 cm above my eye brows so now I have to suffer with ridiculous bangs for 2 weeks- all for $17. I could have gotten a better trim at Parlour Salon for $13 and I will regret not taking the time to go there first for the next 2 weeks of my life.

although the staff were sweet and tried to fix their botched approach at the hair colour i requested - I have to say, the quality of both the haircut and colour was completely unacceptable for a trendy downtown salon. I was expected a young and fashionable haircut after showing images of what I wanted (which I have had many times before at other salons) and what i got was a not so good trim instead of style. The colouring was miscalculated which resulted in a halo effect and then needed to go through the entire dye process again with peroxide then colour again and still the result is messy and unprofessional- like an amateur did it. Really disappointed at the 6 hour experience and lost cost. Even the end style and blow dry was out dated and flat looking-not sexy. I think if you are looking for a trim go here otherwise if you want something stylish and proper colouring find an established salon with older stylists who will properly counsel you on the colouring and get it right the first time

worst customer service! i came here today for a hair wash and got such a BAD experience. the girl who washed my hair was wearing rubber gloves, I asked her if she could just wash my hair without gloves ( like a normal hair wash), she said "I have allergies!", i told her i could wait for another person, but she insisted on giving me a hair wash and it was pure bad. my hair is still dirty afterwards, shampoo still on my ears and neck. I've been going to Seefu Hair for probably 5+ years now and I've never been unhappy with a cut since settling on a regular stylist (Jay!). Great service, great cuts, and a great atmosphere in general. The place continues to make improvements in terms of equipment, amenities, etc. I get my hair cut every 4-6 weeks as well, so this place has the perfect balance of quality and affordability to not be a budget breaker. Keep up the good work guys! If I had to give one negative piece of feedback it would be that on occasion, the place gets quite busy and sometimes this results in a late start to my appointment or it running slightly long, but they've grown a lot since the early days that I started frequenting the place and these such occurrences have been less common as they've continued to add staff.

I felt like spontaneously cutting my hair short so I found this place and called in for an appointment half an hour later - very pleased with how accommodating they are! Once getting there, I was able to put all my stuff away into a locker, the key for which is given to you to keep around your wrist. I had Koichi and he did a STELLAR job - $40 only for hair cut, shampoo, blow dry AND STYLE! They also include an amazing head and shoulders massage. THIS IS THE BEST HAIR SALON IN TORONTO - LOOK NO FURTHER FOR AMAZING VALUE! Be sure to tip well :)

Just got a haircut by Tony who is the style director. The cut was $55 dollars which was the most expensive so my expectations were definitely very high. I was skeptical in the beginning of the cut as I wasnt sure he understood what I was saying - in the end the idea of what’s good looking or not lies in the observer. But 10 mins into the cut I was quite impressed. His fading skills was definitely quite honed as he was the eldest there. I just walked in cuz I had some time to kill so I m even more impressed. Will definitely be back

I have been going to this shop for a couple of years and had good experiences. Last time, however, I had wrong colour and wrong cut. I bought a picture of a cut that I wanted and explained that I wanted grey/silver colour to match my grey. I got yellow, completely burned and chopped hairstyle. When I called to complain I have been told to come back for more colouring. I feel that this policy of the store is a horrible treatment of the customers, and I will elaborate: For someone like me who left in this store close to $400 dollars for this horrible hair on my head and someone who has to deal with the frustration of not having a healthy hair and everything wrong with it, it would be at least honest to receive a refund - as some kind of acknowledgement that something went wrong. Instead, I had to deal with Ophilia, who was totally ignorant and oblivious to my pain, and someone who only had one option, which is - come back for more colouring. I am not sure if Ophilia knows what she is talking about. I keep telling her that my hair was burnt and that more colouring is not possible. I am wondering if Ophilia is a computer. Only machine can keep repeating herself without having any emotions for a customer who went through a horrible experience in this store. On the other hand, if Ophilia is repeating what she has to because the policy of your business is "money grab", then I must remind them that they exist because of their customers. It is not the other way around. Since Ophilia couldn't help, I was asking her to provide me with an email/phone number of someone who can. Ophilia gave me a non existant email of her boss Edward.

Love the result! Get a hair cut and a digital perm here. Throughout the 4 hour hair services they served tea, snacks, a hair wash before hair cut and after perming, both with massage. And they give you a 10 minute shoulder massage which feels great. Yuki was my stylist and she is very attentive. Even when my hair was attached to the machine for the perm she came by every few minutes to check it. Love the result!

I've not been the most loyal hair stylist patron, and over the last decade have tried many salons in order to get my hair looking and feeling healthy and manageable. I have thick wiry (sometimes frizzy) asian hair. Last April I went to Steve at SeeFu to get a balayage ashy ombre and the result of the haircut and dye-job has faded beautifully over the year. I've gotten multiple haircuts SeeFu this year... I still get compliments the balayage done last April. Overall, this salon has provided me a great dyejob, haircuts and styling for special occasions. They are meticulous in every step they take from using quality products to the complimentary massage. I’ve always gone to the same salon for 15 years. But over the years it got increasingly difficult to book an appointment and I’d wait forever while there for my hair to finish. So long story short I found Seefu down the street from my home and thought I’d give them a try. The online booking process was easy and I got an appointment within 2 weeks! The price is actually double what I used to pay but i wanted to try anyways. I got Jenny L. and she’s very accommodating, had great chats with her like 2 old friends connecting lol. She cut my hair, gave her recommendation and coloured my hair purple. Cut and dye took total of only 3hrs where elsewhere I was used to sitting for at least 8hrs. The color was vibrant and my hair though bleached and coloured was very healthy looking still after. The scalp massage was a bonus! Though pricier than I’m used to, for the ease of booking, quality of service, minimal cut/dye time and welcoming environment, I’d come back! :)

I've been searching for a new hair salon and stumbled upon Seefu's page. I emailed for a hair consultation and received a call from them. Before my initial appointment at Seefu - Spadina, I chose Eiko as my stylist. I showed her similar ombre balayage photos, which was also the work of other staff in the salon. She asked me which tones I preferred and immediately knew what to do. On the day of my appointment, Eiko re-explained the procedures and ensured she achieved my desired look. It was an absolute pleasure to get my hair treated by Eiko. She is an amiable and knowledgeable stylist. She knows her craft very well, and her work ethic is commendable. I also observed staff cleaning and sanitizing the tools, chairs and hair-washing stations before and after use. The prices at Seefu are somewhat competitive than other places in downtown, yet indeed worth-it. I left my appointment with no disappointment and with an exceptional result.

Used to frequent this place but stopped for a bit. However, given what I've experienced the last two times I will not be returning as the overall quality has declined significantly. Didn't ask for anything complicated during my latest visit... just wanted my hair layered and hair treatment done. Unfortunately my previous stylist was unavailable so I was ok with them assigning anyone considering I wasn't asking for a new hairstyle or getting my hair coloured (which apparently was a BAD move). The guy who cut my hair had no idea what he was doing and I would've appreciated it if he told me he didn't understand what I was asking for. The hair treatment is the other part to this. Halfway through the manager walks up and basically tells off the (same) guy and another woman doing my hair saying that they are doing it incorrectly and it needs to be redone. He then questions the guy asking if he paid attention during training. When the manager walks away, they continue doing what they were doing before!!!! At which point I interjected as that was absolutely ridiculous. By the end of it, I just wanted out of the salon and didn't want the newbie going anywhere near my hair. I went somewhere else to get my haircut fixed as I walked out of Seefu with an uneven cut (and it's not one of those "if you look closely you'll see it's uneven" situations. It's really obvious as there is a chunk missing). Other things I've noticed: 1. Yes there are occasionally people eating near the back area so you'll potentially be getting your hair washed with someone eating food next to you. 2. Watch out for the hair treatment pitch. They basically pressure you into buying their package. Yes it seems great if you frequent the place however it does not require 4 people standing around the customer pressuring them with why they should buy it. 3. Certain employees are particularly snappy. There is one mandarin speaking lady who always seems like she's got something important to do and is so loud. Every time she speaks she's basically yelling. It's not fun when you're getting your hair washed and she's gossiping at loudspeaker volume right next to you. This place was pretty good before. But now? I recommend you avoid it.

Wanted my hair dark blue with lighter highlights. Was there for almost 6 hrs and pay some $ 360. At a glance the colour looked not bad but as soon as I went home I discovered many un-dyed areas ( blonde because I had to bleach hair so it was obvious). I had to make another trip back for fixing. Instead of using original colours/ heed my opinion of using the lighter colour to cover up the blonde ( in case the darker colour covers up even the highlights), the stylist insisted on dying the WHOLE head again with another dark-ish blue colour. In the meanwhile it was really hot/ no AC/ and person cutting hair beside me actually blew hair all over me when he was blowing dry the person's hair. I was so ready to get out of there I just let him do what he wanted and hoped for the best. The hair turned out not completely dark ( which I initially worried about) but now with this weird green-ish tone to it ( not the blue I initially chose!!). Worse part was that while I was not completely satisfied I was going to give them the credit of being willing to fix it. HOWEVER, they actually wanted to charge me an additional $35 for washing and blow drying.. At that point I was just like there is no way Im coming back. And I forgot to mention they got dye on my neck and face and ear which remained blue tinted even after washing.

Extremely disappointing I want to cry. Got a haircut from a junior stylist and she can't even layer hair! She just gave a u-shaped cut and chopped my bangs like a preschool kid. I showed her photos and my hair looks nothing like I asked for. They were friendly and it included shampooing with a short massage but not worth $45+tx+tips when I didn't get what I went in for. Never going back.

This is truly an amazing place. I thought it is a Chinese hair salon at first because they used Chinese characters and are inside the China town. It turned out that the place is run by Japanese and the services are so typically Japanese. Kind, clean, efficient and highly skilled. I paid around 50 CAD for their service and I would say it is worth the price.

Been coming here for years and my go to guy has always been Jay. Hes a master at what he does and takes the time to cut, shave and snip every hair before he lets you leave his chair. Very meticulous. Prices have creeped up but worth it. Its not a quick, 10 minute "shave on the sides messy on top" cut you usually got at House of Lords (RIP). Plan to be there for at least an hour and 15.

Went for my haircut this Wednesday and was the worst experience. The staff was really nice, but it sucks that they dont really know English. If you have long thick hair, this place would not handle it well. I showed the guy the picture of hair style I wanted, it wasn't hard to do, it was just layers. He did it terribly. Cut the top of my hair short and left the bottom half still very long. I dont know if they know what layers are but I was soooo disappointed. Will never return here.

I am new to this area so was looking for something close and not too pricey. I read the reviews so gave it a try. I walked in and was helped right away. The stylist asked me questions about what I wanted and we looked at styles together and picked one. She did an amazing job and was detail oriented. She cut my hair exactly as I wanted. It's true that you get a head massage and then a long shoulder neck and arm massage it's awesome and also a great price. Best value that I've experienced in the city and I've had my hair cut everywhere.

I've been getting my hair straightened here for 9 years and have brought in three other friends and they keep going back to Jay for their straightening. Most affordable straightening in the city. And a great shampoo/conditioner and scalp massage. Then a sweet neck shoulder and upper back massage by one of the assistants. Great place.

I do not normally write reviews, however I had a very negative experience with Seefu Hair Salon and feel compelled to share my experience: I was new to Toronto and wanted to get my hair cut, highlighted and colored. I went to Seefu and spent around 4 and half hours and $500+ there, once the treatments were done the stylist offered to use a hot iron to style my hair further. I have always had extremely straight and healthy hair, but to my horror after washing my hair a few days after the treatment it was clear that my hair had been significantly damaged - not only was it much drier and more brittle than before, but a permanent curls had been introduced. This is something that had never happened to me before in any of the numerous times I had received similar treatments at other salons. I went back to Seefu, and they immediately and fairly aggressively denied any responsibility despite the fact that the newly added and permanent curls in my hair perfectly matched those introduced by the hot iron as you can see in the attached photos, and even pushed back saying all faults were mine such as “new environmental factors”. This is a ridiculous excuse because I have lived in New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo before, any environmental changes have never caused this kind of issue before Seefu. I then sought an examination and advice from another hair salon where I had been before (in another city), who after examining my hair agreed that it was clearly the treatments given that must have caused the problems. They said that the damage must be from mistakes made by Seefu. She applied treatments on 2 occasions with the aim of helping, which it did to a very small degree, but sadly also informed that there is no true fix that can be done and my choice boils down to either living with the damaged hair or cutting it all off (roughly two thirds of my long hair), which would then take 5 years to regrow. The damage is well beyond what is normal for this treatment, and is clearly a result of Seefu’s errors. However I am most upset at their refusal to accept any responsibility.

Ask for Kai! I have been going there for the last three cut/dye (balayage) and she is amazing! Also love the shoulder massages you get. A lot more reasonably priced than some of the other Asian hair salons around town, especially if you are getting the whole works! I would recommend asking for a quote before making an appointment. **DO NOT get a haircut from a man named Richie (or something like that) Note: this is not my first time at this salon. During my hair cut he would continuously put down his tools and look at his phone as well as leaving and talking to other people very often. I mentioned at the very beginning to try to be careful of hitting my ear as I recently got a cartilage piercing done. However, even after acknowledging he continually hits it with the comb and even smacks a towel on it. When a customer came in he spoke in Chinese telling the others that he would take him, after which, he started to speed up his pace even more. As I finished my hair wash he was already working on another client not even bothering to blow dry and style. I would expect that a salon that is rated so highly of and charges relatively higher prices for a men's haircut that I would be treated a little better compared to a $10 shop. However, the only plus was the lady with a blonde pixie cut who was very kind and observant as to not hit my ear as she washed my hair, etc. TLDR; stay away from this stylist named Richie if you want to be treated well.

This is one of the best hair salons! I have never had a bad haircut from them. The service is really great. Tea and water is offered and you will get a head massage. However they take their time: expect to stay one hour for a men’s haircut (I don’t know how long for a woman, but longer). Expect confusion and delays on busy days and while booking an appointment. This explains the one missing star unfortunately. But once you are in the chair, the service, attention to detail and especially the result are stellar and I highly recommend the place.

I’ve been to Seefu a handful of times now. Every time I ask for Tony. Solid consistent cuts. But every time it’s a different price for the same service. First time $55, second time $45, and the last time $62 before tip! If you feel the shampoo and shoulder massage is worth the price then check it out. Otherwise it’s way too expensive for a basic men’s cut.

I really want to cry. First time here, I spent my 5 hours here with the most expensive stylist this afternoon. I did cut, coloring and perming. paid for the 1000 cad VIP card because otherwise I needed to spend 714 cad at one time with this mess. I cut my long hair shorter for dry and damaged hair, while my healthy hair got damaged after they did coloring and perming. Before Seefu, I did coloring and perming once a year, and every time I could walk out with very beautiful and smooth hair. The first photo is the work of Seefu after 5 hours, the second photo is the work from another hair salon( I didn’t blow it with special technique or use any curling irons). I am about to cry at this 2:30 in the early morning, can’t fall asleep because I will take this mess into my graduation photo in a month. I punched my boyfriend today because he recommended Seefu to me. This taught me a lesson : how could I listen to a boy’s suggestion when I want to do a women’s hairstyle?

For guys, if u expect to get a nice haircut form this place. You should think twice. The female hairstylist I had was very friendly, but she didn’t have the skills that I expected for a $50+ haircut. I've been in desperate need of a haircut recently (as is the rest of the world by now), and decided to try Seefu at Spadina. Jenny my stylist was absolutely AMAZING! Oh my goodness, I cannot begin to thank you for my much needed haircut, a stylish bob, which has been unkempt and unsightly for 4 months now! Thanks to you, I'm much more 'presentable' and I feel human again! In regard to COVID precautions, they have online bookings with the staff greeting you outside the door. They check your temperature and require face masks. The staff wear face shields during the whole process, and honestly I feel for you guys because it's so difficult to wear these things all day (speaking from experience). The instruments, chairs, and hair washing stations were cleaned prior to use, and they limited the number of patrons in the salon. Overall, the experience was amazing as it always is at Seefu, but I was particularly appreciate of today's visit given our current 'situation' and for the first time in a long time, I actually felt 'human' ! Thank you Jenny and Seefu!!

DO NOT GO THERE!!!! I’m serious. I spend so much to get Japanese hair straightening, I had done this before so I knew the steps and the amount of time it’d take! The guy who performed it seemed to be in a rush and was using the hair straightener fast without paying attention to the details! I came home and as they told me and as the usual procedure! didn’t wash my hair for 3 days and after my first shower I expected straight hairs, but my hair were as curly as before this!!! So I called them and he said that he had accidentally used EXPIRED material and this is the reason!!!!!! I kept my cool and accepted his apology and offer to do it once again and he said he will be doing hair treatment this time so my hair would not be damaged for doing it twice!!!! I went in and he just spilled one drop of something in to the regular solution which seemed to be really cheap material and performed it again even in more rush than the last time! The material came in contact with the small hair on the front of my face and my scalp and gave them a chemical burn and made them look like afro! So I had to remove as much as it that I could! The rest of my hair is full of patches of curly hair!!!!!! I was so sad about this and my damaged hair (my hair are still super damaged!!!!) that I don’t even want ask them to fix it as I’m sure they are going to ruin it even more!!! I cried for a week looking and touching my hair!!!! MY ONLY WORD WOULD BE TO AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!!

Disaster haircut and horrible experience . Cut the length too short even when i specifically told not to do so. Rude hairstylist who said things like “do u want me to spend whole day at your hair?” When she didnt have to even wash my hair. Other salons spend 1 hour on haircut appointment with treatments. She did not even use heat protector while styling. Was very upfront abt the tip and in a rush. Used some cheap spray in the end that left white residue on my hair. Please don’t go here if you are new.
