Wow, I cannot recommend Queen's Shop enough! I had my hair done by Ariel, who is the loveliest person EVER on top of being super talented! They managed to give me the hair of my dreams, even if it was a big change, and they were so supportive throughout the whole process. Highly recommend Ariel and all of the staff here are so knowledgeable, and professional. And regarding COVID precautions, I don't think I could have felt any safer. Can't wait to go back!

Came in here last night for a colour correction gone wrong (yes a double trouble colour mishap!) and the staff couldn't have been kinder and more understanding. The salon owner Alicia took a lot of time going over what my concerns/expectations were. We finally settled on a solution where she brought back my natural colour from my roots and brightened my ends for a sun-kissed summer-ready ombre look. Alicia took nearly 5 hours to thoroughly fix my hair and give me a look that felt natural, professional and my hair feels soft and healthy despite the now third colour job in less than 2 weeks. She really saved me! This morning felt like myself again. Over all the whole staff at this west-end salon are lovely, easy going people. I would highly recommend their services and they certainly made a repeat customer out of me

I happen to stumble upon a rather unnoticeable saloon last week only to find out that the hair stylist 'Alicia' is absolutely great. She paid attention to what I wanted, discussed the possible hairstyles, made few suggestions based on my hair line. I ended up getting one of the best haircuts. Checked out Queen's Shop for the very first time last week. I was in desperate need of a hair cut (had not cut my hair in over 2.5 years!). Made an appointment with Nicole (pretty last minute I might add) and she was fabulous! I was indecisive about whether to go short, or just medium length and she was great giving advice. We had a really nice conversation during my appointment and in the end she gave me a fantastic hair cut. I think I took off nearly 12" of hair. I felt so much better after. I would highly recommend this place and would highly recommend Nicole.

Queen’s Shop is an amazing hidden gem on Bloor St. I have not visited a hair salon in Toronto for such a long time, so I felt really lucky I found this location by chance. The salon was clean, safe, they follow COVID protocol, and they’re so friendly about it too! Diyar did an amazing job highlighting my dark asian hair! I always struggled with explaining what exactly I wanted with my hairdresser and Diyar was able to translate my blundering description into exactly what I wanted! I love my hair! They brightened up my hair to this lovely sandy colour that feels healthy and not fried up at all. Whenever I am in Toronto this is my go-to place for hair. I’ll let my before/after photos speak for themselves. This is the place! GO HERE! You’ll thank me later!

I’ve been cutting my hair the entire pandemic and finally needed a professional cut. I saw Nicole and she was beyond professional and non-judgmental of my pandemic hair. We talked the whole time and I felt extremely comfortable. Nicole told me directly what my hair needed and offered me samples and recommendations to reduce my frizz. It's astounding what a good haircut can do for you. I had bounced around from salon to salon, often feeling "meh" about my haircuts and once leaving an appointment in tears. Finally I found Queen's shop, and for the last two years I've had nothing but fantastic experiences. Not only are my haircuts great, but the folks are absolutely delightful. Friendly staff, and a very clean and cozy salon. Lou was great, she did my trim a wash and blow dry with a nice scalp massage. The sink has a pad for your neck which is so much more comfortable than every salon I've been to. I was very happy with my cut and style, she didn't take to much off which is something I appreciate as some hairdressers take to much off when you only want a trim.

Queen's shop was recommended to me by a friend. The overall vibe of this place is chill and relaxed, which I love. Nicole did my hair and it turned out amazing! ???? I had a lot of bad roots and she did an incredible job blending them in and gave me exactly what I was looking for! She’s also very friendly and professional. Prices here were more than I pay at my other salon but I felt they were worth it for the quality of service/outcome and the products that they use. I’ll definitely be going back! :)

This is a great salon with a fun atmosphere, wonderful staff, and attentive service in a quirky space. I was worried about how short hair would work with my curls, but Alicia talked me through my options and gave me a realistic idea of how it would grow out eventually. I'm really happy I trusted her recommendation because I love my new short hair. Everyone with curls knows that it can be really hit or miss finding a new hairdresser, but it turned out better than when I went to a salon that specializes in curly hair. And the service and atmosphere were a hundred times better.

I went to Queen’s shop to get a wash and cut from Dallas and had an amazing experience! Not only did I love my haircut but Dallas was extremely pleasant and accommodating! I have naturally dry hair and typically have trouble finding hair products that work for me…..until now! Dallas introduced me to a line of products called “Davines”. When she used it the first thing I noticed was the unbelievably amazing scent and how soft and smooth it made my hair feel. Truly amazing! And when I heard that Davines was a sustained family owned business I was sold! Can’t wait to come back for my next appointment!! 10/10 experience all around!

Not only are they amazing hair stylists who REALLY know their stuff (Alicia rules!), but they're great people too: Hosting concerts after hours in the salon, hanging local art, doing stuff for the kids always participating in neighborhood fairs, donating time and talent in kind to charities. If every store was as engaged as these guys, we would have real community!

[Edit, 3 years later] I came to Queen's Shop after following their Instagram account for a while. Originally I went for colour but I've also had terrific cuts as well and have never been disappointed! Nicole is wonderful: warm and easy to talk to as well as being a great problem solver for hair issues. I have super-fine hair and it's not the easiest but she has also given me maintenance and styling suggestions that have made it easier. The rest of the staff is great, too and I see some very cool and pretty hair in there that is still very 'real'. If you're looking for a new salon in Toronto this is worth a try!

I googled a hair salon plus the term "no judgment" as I've had terrible experiences with judgement in the past, and I was not disappointed! Queen's Shop is the best environment, best staff, and best products a gal could ask for. My double process hair dying was done by an angel called Emily, or Em, who not only did an awesome job of fixing my hair color, but also made me feel so happy and special! She is funny, caring, and all around awesome. One of the most talented hair-stylists I've encountered. Will for sure be coming back in a few weeks to touch up my color. I'm more than happy and would definitely recommend this place to anyone, particularly if you shy away from hair salons because of judgement, or embarrassment, come to the Queen's Shop and you'll feel none of that! Ps: don't leave without having some of their awesome tea!

Nicole is amazing ! She is super friendly and I have so much fun getting my hair done! In the past I’ve always found that going to the hairdresser can be somewhat of an awkward encounter for those of us who are more introverted but even on my first appointment we were chatting up a storm and I felt super comfortable. I have platinum blonde hair which is super high maintenance and can easily be messed up (by even the best hairdressers) but she always makes my hair the perfect tone/shade and I trust her completely ! She always remembers exactly what I want and she can do a seriously good blow out which makes my hair sparkle. All the staff are super nice and I love that it is a completely judgement free zone !

I went to the Queen’s Shop today for my first visit and I am sooo impressed!! I hadn’t had my hair done in a year so going to get my hair done and going to a new salon was a little daunting and I was feeling anxious, but within a few minutes I felt at ease and comfortable. My hairdresser Sarah was wonderful and really made me feel comfortable and explained in detail what she was thinking for my hair and kept checking in with me to make sure we were both on the same page for what I wanted. The overall feel and vibe of the salon is very inclusive, welcoming and a no judgement attitude which is what I loved! The salon was clean and they take extra precautions to keep both the staff and customers safe. The products they use are not only sustainable and natural but smell incredible!!! I loved that Sarah gave me so many great tips for styling my own hair at home which I welcomed as I have no clue on how to do it myself lol so her tips were very helpful and appreciated! Im looking forward to going back and trying out their products at home :)

I asked in advance if the stylist could do the cut i wanted (layers) and was told they were "very good" instead i got an absolutely butchered cut that required me to get a very short hair cut (from a different salon) to fix. The only resolution the salon offered was for me to get my hair recut by the same stylist even though they clearly dont have the skills to do the cut. As a result of the hack job i recieved, i couldnt even get the cut i originally asked for.

I've been seeing Alicia for almost 4 years now (from John Steinberg to the opening of The Queens Shoppe) and I haven't left disappointed once. A few things I'd like to say about Alicia and this salon... 1. Alicia and her staff are professional and friendly. They maintain a welcoming atmosphere equipped with coffee, tea, iPads, magazines etc. 2. Alicia is active in the community. Oftentimes running events in the evening which showcase art and music from those that live in the area. 3. Yesterday I came in for a last second short cut that is new for me. After she was finished she noticed I wasn't 100% happy with the result. Without hesitation she started again and gave me exactly what I wanted. Raw talent and genuine customer service are hard to find in this city. When The Queens Shoppe first opened Alicia told me about how she wanted her vision to unfold and it's happening. Keep doing what you do!

I went for a wash and cut with Nicole and she was amazing. So friendly and genuine. I usually hate the hairdressers as they either talk too much or you're so bored but Nicole and I had a lovely chat and when I was doing things on my phone she let me at it. My hair turned out fab and I got complaints the whole way home. It wa so soft and shiny and she provided me with all the advice and product info I asked about. I have now found my new favorite hairdresser and will be hard to find a replacement. 10 stars if I could ????????????????

I went to Queen’s Shop today for the first time. Had my appointment with Diyar and was really impressed! He is super nice and friendly and gave me the best head massage ever. I’m not the type of person who talks a lot during my hair appointments (I don’t talk a lot in general) and he was really understanding and gave me my quite time. But he has a bubbly personality and I’m sure he’d be super entertaining for all the extroverts out there. Hair cut came out great, I had to get rid of my at-home-covid-cut, and he did a good job at giving me a nice, simple long bob. I also love that their products are plant-based and they care about the environment. Price was really fair for the service and quality!! Totally recommended and I will come back for sure!

Overall my experience here was aright. I had my hair washed, cut and blow dried by Sarah. She was sweet and did a fine job. I will say my only complaint would be that most of the visit I was somehow made to feel as if I don't take care of my hair regularly I know she was trying to give helpful advice but I had explained I had a recent bad experience with my hair and that was the cause for my hair damage. I am slowly trying to cut the damaged hair and regrow healthy hair but throughout my time there she kept asking me questions like "do you wash your hair more than once a week!? That is what could be causing your hair to dry out, you shouldn't be washing it as frequently." And while that may or may not be true... I have very thick/curly hair and cannot get away with washing my hair once a week. So some little things felt as if though I was being judged based on my hair , that was my only complaint. Cut was good and she gave a killer head massage while washing my hair so thank you! . However again it was a fine visit

I loved this place. my hairdresser was so knowledgable and gave me a really great shape and my hair looks 100% healthier. she gave me some great tips for my wavy hair. the shampoo smells so good. they have full robes so you can take your top off and don't have to worry about getting hair stuck in your clothes. I will definitely be going back
