Jade is very knowledgeable and kind. Tells you how to style your hair and what products you need for that and gives you recommendations on what to do with your hair. She takes pride in her craft and it shows through her work.

Researched a few places and reviews regarding Digital Perms (aka Hot Perms). Great service right when you walk through the door. I went to see Sophia for a quote, and she did everything (and more, in my opinion). She took the time to explain everything in detail, and for after care as well. Lovely little neighborhood salon. I will be going back!

I got a haircut and keratin treatment and I love the results! Sandra is an amazing stylist, I told her what cut I wanted and she made it into something more beautiful than I expected. I got compliments from friends and family! She also told me every step she's doing and I appreciated that. Jade also assisted with my treatment and gave me lots of advice on taking care of my hair. I have hair issues and both ladies were very kind on giving tips on how to resolve it at home. Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this salon to everyone.

Maybe just my experience, but I would've liked her ask more feedback during the process. The layers were terribly blended. I had two distinct layers in my hair, which I spent hours trying to blend on myself. It felt like of similar quality to what I've received at Great Clips for $25 more. During the cut, she also was "just going to add more to your bangs" and added a bunch of volume to my curtain bangs without asking whether I wanted it or not. Now the bangs I had carefully sculpted are much too voluminous and it's impossible to style them to suit my face. I end up pinning my hair back every day cause I can't look at myself with it down.

Price may seem reasonable compared to trendy, high-end places, but noticed color doesn't last as long as other salons. Wonder if they dilute their colour? Also they charge for time;if your colour doesn't set in the time allotted for your appointment, owner charges you more, which is unheard of. Have compared prices with comparable places in NW, and this place is not reasonable at all.

Wonderful experience at Purple Jade. My toddler son needed a hair cut badly but he is not great at sitting still for hair cuts yet. Jade was super patient with him, listened to me, talked to him slowly and explained things, and was okay with trying to cut his hair while I nursed him! Really great experience and an excellent cut. She also charged us an extremely reasonable rate. When we are back in Calgary--this is where we will go.

My whole family have tried their service and are all very happy. My mom went to Jade for a hair perm. She had very short hair and liked the style. It was great that Jade can communicate with her in Mandarin. The price was very reasonable too. My husband and I both had hair cut there and I would say it was a pleasant experience and Jade gave a lot of good tips for hair styling and grooming in general. Would definitely recommend.
