We booked in for a wedding party on October 27th, 2018and had a great experience. Being mostly out of town we selected this salon based on reviews and location. We were not disappointed. This was a well run, friendly & very professional salon. We were even allowed to bring in our own make up person when their make up person wasn’t available. I would highly recommend this salon for anyone booking a wedding party. We were a group of 4 bridesmaids, the bride, and mother, grandmother and Auntie of the bride! Our hair all looked amazing the entire evening! Thanks for a fun experience!

This past weekend was my first experience here. My friend and I had pedicures done. Upon booking the appointment my one request was to make sure we could have them done at the same time (which is half the fun of going with a friend). I was told it was no problem on the phone, however, when we showed up we were told they only had one pedicure station, and had made a make-shift station out of a chair and metal bowl. They were incredibly accomodating on the matter, however it would have been nice to know ahead of time. The esthetician`s were incredibly professional, and we had a lovely time. I have to say though, that experience was short lived and we were rather annoyed by the time we left. Before booking the appointment, I looked at their website for pricing (as I think anyone would). What I believed we had signed up for was a regular pedicure at $35.00. To find out after all was said and done that we each owed more than $50 was rather upsetting. I could not refrain from asking why I was paying the $50 instead of the orinignal $35 that we had anticipated based on their website. I was told that the $35 is a `mini pedicure` and does not have the same efford put in as the $50 pedicure. She told me that was what was on their site. Since the service was said and done I had no choice but to pay the $50. After leaving, we checked their site, and it clearly states a regular pedicure is $35. Twice that day we felt that they had wiggled around the truth. We ended up paying more than we had planned, and one of us was left paying the full price for a pedicure without the regular facility. The whole wrap up to our afternoon left us with a sour taste for the place. My blood starts to boil again reliving it now.

Out of all salons I’ve been too NYNY is by far the most welcoming, loving, caring, and most kind hearted environment to be around. I cannot justify the amount of times i have walked out of that salon, and have been blown away every time! The best part is that I can trust the people with my hair and know that they know what’s best for me and my hair needs ! I have been going to this salon for 4 years now and have been friends with Marina for over 10 years and she always amazes me more and more each time with what she can do to accomplish my hair goals and to challenge and exceed her new technician goals. I like to say a big thank you marina and the staff for putting hard countless hours into my new hairstyle. Extensions and colouring and a scalp treatment to revive my dry scalp from the dry weather ! 10/1000 would highly recommend going here !

They had to do corrections. Which I had to pay for!! I was there for about 7 hours. I left tipsy from all the wine I was served on an empty stomach. I left hating my hair!

One of the scariest things you can do is have to find a new hairstylist. Being a military family we have had to do this a few times and each time I dread the bad hair cuts and colors and expensive costs. But this time I was extremely surprised. From the moment my daughter and I walked in we were met with smiles and laughter. The stylists were engaging with us, not each other, and the owner was quick to joke and make us feel at home. This is a high end salon with a feeling of being amongst friends. And even though I am ok with paying more for good service I did not feel like I was being gouged when we walked out. In fact it was quite the opposite, I was surprised at how low the cost was considering how high end the salon feels. I would highly recommend that if you want to be made to feel special that you go to this salon.

Last year, I went to see Victoria for a cut and highlights based on her Instagram. She was very welcoming and easy to talk too, she listened to every single detailed I had asked for. You know your hair is perfect when you can’t stop looking in the mirror for a week after your appointment! Nidaa did such an amazing job with my bob! She had gotten my roots back to their platinum loveliness and without any damage! In fact, my hair felt even better than when I came in- and that was AFTER bleach & toning! I don’t know what witchcraft they use- but it’s totally worth a trip! They are also next level on their COVID-19 precautions which was so reassuring! I enjoyed the service initially, but didn't like being stared down by one of the male employees. I got a perm and when they were removing the rods, they opted to not tell me how much breakage had happened. They also told me that the perm would still hold, even if I dyed it almost 2 months prior. I got home and saw so much breakage - I was mortified. To top it all off, my perm started falling within a week. I called back pretty hysterical and they offered me a free hair treatment. Although the woman doing my hair was very nice, this place seems like it's bursting at the seams with drama, and clients notice..

I came here by fluke during an ice storm when my other salon cancelled on me. I was nervous since I'd never been, based it on reviews and was trusting a new stylist to take my super long hair that had been black box dyed for 10+ years to balayage with blonde! I consulted with Marina and she was phenomenal! We talked about what I needed and she priced out everything. The salon is clean, beautiful, funky and welcoming. The best hair salon in Ottawa. You can feel the great team atmosphere and the attention to detail when they're taking care of you. They provide wifi, drinks, and lots of humour. Such a relaxing place to go to get my hair done and to prep for events. Their specialty is hair colouring, and although I can't speak from experience I have seen their incredible work on clients. They also have great social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook) where you can check out their works of art and their latest events. This place goes beyond a hair salon, it is a community.

Where to begin?! I have been going to New York New York for 3 months now and I cannot say enough positive things about this salon. From the moment you walk through the door, you are welcomed with open arms (at a social distance of course!) and you are treated like family. The salon itself is very clean and best of all, incredibly vibrant! The stylists are a true team to one and other - always helping each other. That is very attractive about a salon (no cattiness or competition). My stylist, Marina, is absolutely amazing. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the products and colouring she uses, and speaks with great confidence. I went from 32 years blonde to a vibrant red head in one sitting (spur of the moment decision) and Marina accommodated my request with NO hesitation (I was not booked for a colour correction). Marina and the NYNY family took amazing care of me, and even ordered me food! I have never been so taken care of by a salon before. My hair turned out PERFECT. Even strangers on the street commented on my hair and asked what salon I go to. A big shout out to Vince as well for cutting my 1 year old's hair. My son, a typical 1 year old, is deadly scared of having his hair cut. I brought him to Vince and not once did my son even flinch! Vince has a real way with children and made the experience so much fun for him. If only my husband had hair... he would be coming here too!! Thank you NYNY Team for making every visit so enjoyable. I am so grateful for making the switch over xoxo.

Friendly and warm, it reminded of an old time, small town kind of place where you are a friend, not just a "two o'clock appointment". Clients and staff all talking together gave me such a sense of community, it was a social as well as a hair appointment. And they took great care of me! Glass of wine? Need anything while you wait on your colour? Are you comfortable? Would you like an extra towel under your neck at the shampoo station? I honestly felt like family. No snobbery here. I loved the balayage, the final colour is soft & homogenous. I really loved it! The quality of product used was really good, the hair remained soft to touch. After moving from Toronto to Ottawa, this has been my go-to salon due to its proximity. Never had a bad cut and always had a good experience, overall. I have not been picky with stylists, always had different ones, and have yet to find The One. Shampooing and blowdrying could use some work to be honest. I don't care much for the latter, but the former has been pretty rough and painful at times, which is unfortunate. Otherwise, a nice place :)

Saw Victoria for the first time yesterday for a cut and balayage. I am absolutely in love with the results! I showed her a picture of what I had in mind and she made some recommendations based on my natural hair colour that we went with. She was not pushy at all, did a fantastic job explaining the process to me and we had great conversation. I had the privilege to meet the brilliantly talented Marina who treated me to what ended up being the best hair appointment of my life!! I had a “balayage gone wrong” incident a week prior at another salon. I was devastated. My beautifully glossy shiny brown hair was now a hay-like texture and a patchy orangey colour. I called New York New York salon and asked to book a colour consultation. I met with Marina and she walked me through the process of re-dying my hair, protein and Ph treatments and a cut refresh. She really listened to every detail and was extremely knowledgeable and easy going. The execution was nothing short of miraculous. Exactly what I wanted, and shiner healthier hair! I couldn’t believe the talent, patience and expertise this girl has! The entire atmosphere of the salon was happy and upbeat! Everyone was so friendly, accommodating and cheerful. They where also constantly cleaning, sanitizing, changing PPE and disinfecting everything! Everything felt very comforting and welcoming. It’s a breath of fresh air! :) Special thanks to Vince as well for being so kind and thoughtful. Thanks to the whole team for taking such measures to keep doing the amazing things you do all whilst keeping everyone safe, relaxed, fulfilled and happy!

I was teamed up with Megan while my former hairstylist was not working, and I'm hooked! I've seen Megan a few times for blonde highlights, and the last time for Ombré. It's pretty difficult to find someone who is good with blonde and she is amazing. She knows what she's doing and does not disappoint. I require many many fine blonde highlights and she did a perfect job. I recently decided to try ombré so I wouldn't have to do my hair so often and she matched my original colour perfectly (ashy brown), and blended it beautifully into the blonde. I highly recommend Megan but also the salon. It is such a fun place to be and all the staff are welcoming and accommodating - you feel like a little princess in there. Best hair/salon experience I've had in my MANY years of hair upkeep.

I absolutely love NYNY. They are taking extra precautions and doing amazing at sanitization. Im so impressed with how clean this place is!! The staff is super respectful and friendly. Staff and clients are all wearing masks. Appointments only and door is locked, plexiglass and social distancing is all in place. Not to mention my hair looks and feels amazing. They have done a great job on my new blonde highlights. I highly recommend Vince and Marina.. but honestly everyone is great. Want to feel comfortable and safe while feeling like family, I recommend NYNY.

I go t my hair done by Victoria with help from others due to its length and I love it it’s exactly what I wanted if not better. She got started around 11 am and finished close to 4:30 pm but thanks to the lovely staff it only felt like 1-2 hours. I will definitely be going back in the future.

Victoria listens to what you tell her and asks just the right questions to understand what you really want but cannot put in to words. I don't like leaving reviews because I'm busy and usually don't feel compelled enough to do it. However, after seeing "Samantha", my experience turned out very unpleasant. This is my first time at the salon and I went there based on the reviews. I was booked for a hair cut and style. I have a long hair. Samantha shampooed it fine but when it came to cutting it and blow dry it she absolutely didn't know how to deal with long hair!! She did a terrible job blow drying it and kept pulling pieces of my hair. She also used a product that made my hair very dry! She was supposed to straighten it with the flat iron but I had to stop her because I knew by then I was wasting my time. The lady at the reception (who I think is the manger) was also unfriendly at all. She charged me $80 even after telling her that I didn't get my hair styled or straightened. She said it doesn't matter!!! A really ridiculous thing to say! It was a terrible job and they weren't professional at all. All I wanted was a simple trim and a blow dray. I had high expectations from this salon and invested for quality. I do not recommend this place. You DO NOT get what you pay for.
