I travel an hour and a half to see Adina every time my curls need a cut. So many stylists claim to know curly hair but end up making things worse. Adina (a curly girl herself) has such a thorough knowledge of curly hair types and how to cut, style and maintain them. I learn something new during each visit and really appreciate the time she spends making sure I'm getting exactly what I came in hoping for.
Adina really is a curly expert. Every time I come to get my hair cut I end up so happy with the finished product. She also gives excellent advice on how to properly take care of your curls and offers great products to use if the ones you are currently using aren’t giving you your dream curls. 10/10 experience and will continue to come back.
Let me start by sharing this simple but impactful tip I received from Adina: Don’t put my face products on my hairline!! All these years of struggling to grow back my hairline after pregnancy and it was so simple. I’d been putting my face products too far up on my face!! It’s these kinds of actionable and simple solutions why I’ve been a client of this studio for well over 5 years now. I found them when I was searching for a healthier way of getting blonde highlights applied to my very coily natural hair. I’ve learned so many helpful tips about maintaining the look and improving the health of my curls. I really appreciate their professionalism and respect for my time which can be hard to find in a hair salon at times. Would gladly recommend to anyone.
I had my first Deva cut and treatment with Adina at Curly Girls Studio last month and I have to say I have fallen in love with my curls again. I dyed my hair last year and it has become dry and brittle due to a lack of a proper hair care routine. Not only did Adina revive my curls, she also educated me throughout the entire appointment regarding my hair and what I should be doing to bring it back to life. She also sent me a follow up email with the products she used, so now I know exactly what I need to purchase going forward. After the appointment my curls were moisturized and bouncy (see before and after photos). I will be following her tips every day, and I can’t wait to see how my hair improves over time.
Every time I go I always walk out feeling satisfied!
Highly recommended! Adina and Yvonna were an absolute pleasure. They were completely professional, knowledgeable and sweet. I have finally committed going natural curly, so I opted for the Cut and Tutorial service. I have very thick and long hair, and it was just refreshing to have someone so patient with treating and styling my hair. Adina honestly looks out for your best interests, she didn't push to cut a lot of the hair off (since I said I really would like to keep as much length as possible), and she didn't push me to buy a bunch of products. The Deva Cut is something I wish I started doing years ago, instead of the standard wet and straight across trim. Overall I left very happy, and it's been 2 days since the cut and style, and my hair is still looking great!
I had my hair cut with Adina back in October. She definitely knows her stuff when it comes to curly hair, especially all the different products! She saw that I had a lot of product buildup in my hair, and taught me about the importance of using clarifying shampoos. She gave me a couple of small samples to try out at home (a clarifying bar and a leave in conditioner), and after a couple of weeks I noticed a huge difference! My hair went from brittle and frizzy to soft and curly! Another great thing is that Adina offers a free check in within 30 days of the initial cut. It was great to go back for a touch up after a few weeks, as my hair was sitting differently after it was clarified. Would recommend her 100%!
I have been attending the Curly Girls Studio for several years. I refuse to let anyone else but Adina touch my hair. Adina has transformed my hair since my first appointment with her expert advice and tips. Adina is such a kind & genuine person and my appointments usually include great conversations, lots of laughter and a rant/therapy session. The studio itself is a comfortable environment and has a great selection of hair products, tools, and accessories. When you enter the Curly Girls Studio, it is a great experience from start to finish!
I feel I should give credit where it’s due! I have been going to Adina, owner of Curly Girls Studio Hair Salon for probably close to 13 years or more now and I wouldn’t trust my hair to anyone but her. I have very unruly, curly hair and it was very challenging finding someone who actually knows how to handle this type of hair. Having lived with and hating my curls for most of my life, finding Adina was truly like winning a lottery. She really understands curly hair!!! She takes the time to answer all my questions. Adina was the very first stylist that ever gave me a “CURLY CUT” and she cut my curly hair right. It is Adina’s genuine passion for the craft that sets her apart from all the others. Adina has taught me everything a curly girl needs to know! Bottom line, Adina is honestly the best stylist I have ever known! … I would highly recommend Adina at Curly Girls Studio Hair Salon to anyone with curls. Thank you so much Adina!
Adina is an amazing hairdresser. She is dedicated to maintaining, promoting and honouring the integrity of curly hair. Too many in the industry promote straightening, Adina, however, respects and truly understands the beauty of naturally curly hair!
I’ve been going to Adina for a couple years now. My very fine curly hair has never been healthier and easier to manage and style. I’ve never used such few products. Today for example I used one product in shower and one after, gave my hair a tussle during breakfast and it looks absolutely great. Love the organic colour and the updated tips I get every visit based on the season the health of my hair and Adina’s ongoing research and discovery in the care and maintainance of curly hair. Now bc of Adina, when people say that that I’m lucky to have curly hair, I can finally agree!!!
Adina gave me such a wonderful curly cut and colour - it turned out the way I wanted it to
Adina is a fantastic hairstylist who takes the time to educate about curly hair. She has been doing my hair for years and it is so much better than it was before I found her. Best of all I look younger!
Adina and Deb were so kind, patient, and welcoming, they took their time to give me tips on how to properly dry and style my hair. I loved my time there and I definitely look forward to getting my haircut by them soon (:
I put hair extensions, their work was amazing. They really care about the quality of work. Thank you. Surely recommend them
Treat your curls!! Adina is so knowledgeable when it comes to managing curly hair. So many tips and tricks are given throughout the whole experience! Be prepared to walk out with a curly cut that will change the way you feel about your curls!
I’ve gone to see Adina three times now and I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences. Adina is great and so friendly, her knowledge about curls is amazing. I went to her when my curls were at their worst and now they are coming back nice and healthy. I would tell any curly hair girl or guy to go see Adina!
I’ve been taking my daughter to Adina for 3 years and her hair has been doing so well! Adina taught us how to care for her curls and they have been popping!
I went to see Adina a few weeks ago for a cut, colour and style and I couldn't be happier. I had a great consultation that helped me select the right cut for my face shape and expert advice in choosing my colour. Thank you, Adina.
Adina squeezed my god daughter in on an unexpected trip to the city. It ended up being an amazing afternoon of learning for both of us (coconut oil is bad for curly hair? Who knew?), and she spent an unexpected amount of her time teaching curl care, despite the fact that we were allegedly a last minute entry. Her hair was absolutely revolutionized, and looked so healthy and bouncy, w no frizz to be seen!
I make sure to coordinate my visits to Toronto (from London ON) with a curly cut from Adina. I have yet to find not only a better cut, but a better experience overall. Her skill is evident, and the wisdom that she shares at each appointment is so valuable and helpful. I have learned so much about my hair, which has been very empowering. My curls and my heart have never been happier!
I love visiting Adina. Not only is it a great place with a wonderful atmosphere, she's so knowledgable and explains everything so well. Can't recommend her place enough
Adina is great! I've been going to her for years now and could not be more satisfied with my hair. I've gone through a number of shapes/styles and she always knows exactly how to cut it perfectly for my curls and my face shape. She listens to what you want while also knowing what is best for your hair! One of the best tips, among many, that Adina gave me for my curls (really for all hair) is that oils are not for your hair!!! My hair instantly became less frizzy and more controlled and bouncy once I got all the oil residue out. Thank you Adina for your amazing service!
Fabulous service, great haircut, and extremely good, detailed advice about curl management --- extremely helpful to someone new to curl care!
my girlfriend said I have curdled her toes.. but this place made a beautiful woman Gorgeous
Adina is amazing! She is so passionate about her work, I enjoyed our conversations as well. I love my new haircut. Thank you Adina :)
I loved my first hair experience at Curly Girls! I’ve. Even back since and will keep going back for all my updates!
Adina is amazing! She has taken the time to understand my curls and understand what I envision for my hair. Adina explains what products will best suit your curls and give tips and tricks to achieve the style you want. Adina rescued my curls, and I'm so glad I found her. :)
This was the first time I've gotten by hair professionally cut and styled and I'm so glad that I went to Curly Girls Studio! Adina and her team take their time to learn about your hair and teach you techniques on how to style your hair and keep it healthy. I was 20 minutes late AND accidentally booked the wrong service and Adina so graciously shifted her schedule to make sure I got the service I wanted. Since I've been using the techniques she's taught me, my hair has never looked healthier. I recommend this studio to all my curly friends. Thank you Adina!!!
I am so glad i found them. My first visit to this location and was really impressed. I got a cut and style. They are very knowledgeable with curly hair products and routines and also gave me really good tips for my type of curly hair. I liked the unique wash station and will definitely go there again. Thanks
Adina does the best curly cuts I have had anywhere. She provides curly hair education, recommends the best products, and gives the best curly cuts. Even after I moved to the U.S., I continue to get my curly cuts from Adina because she is that good.
This was my first haircut with Adina and she was simply amazing. She took time to explain my curls and how I should take care of them. She listened as I told her how I would like my cut. She even upgraded my quick 'cut and go' to a complimentary wash and style. I love my new haircut and I can't wait to go back for my Encore! Thanks Adine and Sarah for a great experience.
Had the best experience here when I went in the summer. Would 100% go back. Such care and consideration, and even got a scone recommendation!
Adina is an incredible stylist! She is knowledgeable, patient and a great teacher too! I have been coming to get my hair done to Adina for more than 10 years and I have never been disappointed! Adina will become your friend and will teach you how to love your curls again!! I truly look forward to every appointment because it becomes a special event, the atmosphere at the studio is always family like and friendly and my hair looks impeccable!
Adina’s studio has all the necessities needed for every curly hair type! She herself is very knowledgeable about curly hair and gives her clients what each curl needs. I have had many curly hair problems in the past but thanks to Adina, my hair is finally starting to come along. From the cut to the product and how to apply it, she’s got your curls covered.
Adina is a genius when it comes to curly hair. She is patient and honest, often telling me which products I should not waste my money on. Above all though, Adina is about educating and empowering curly girls. She provides you with a wealth of knowledge during your first session and is always around if you have questions or concerns between treatments. You can tell she is passionate about her career and not simply doing a job. Highly recommend!!!
Got an excellent Curly Cut and style! Their product recommendations and how to use them made such a difference. Friends who’ve known me forever have commented, out of the blue, on how amazing, healthy and shiny my curls look. Highly recommend!
I went to see Adina for a curly cut at her new beautiful curl salon Curly Girls. She is a master at curly cuts and a genuine, patient teacher to get the best out of your curls. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new hairdresser, we all know good curly ones are hard to find!!
So grateful to have Adina and her Curly Girls Studio! My only regret is that this studio was not around when I was growing up and my mother had no idea how to manage my curls so I ended up with short hair (and baseball caps) until my teens. Adina truly cares and takes the time to teach you how to manage your curls and does not try to push unwanted products or services. Parents of children with curly hair - do yourself and your children a favour, take them to Adina so she can set them up for “curly hair success” ????
Adina is very knowledgeable about the various types of Curls. She does her best to walk you through product application and tips and tricks. The two best thing I’ve learned from Adina is that “ oils are for cooking, not for your hair” and that she encourages her clients to be “cliptomaniacs”- to utilize root clips for the drying process. Thanks for the tips!!
Adina is a true professional and perfectionist . I’ve never received such miticulous care and instruction on how to wear my hair curly . She is kind and real as well which I appreciate . If you want to always be curly and love it , give curly girls studio a try .
Amazing experience with Adina at her private Curly Girls studio! It was my first haircut with a stylist who really understands curly hair. She gave me so much personalized advice, too much to list here. It’s all about finding what’s right for your hair. Top tips included ‘being a cliptomaniac’ and using a ‘hard hat’ hairdryer. Best advice ever! I found an inexpensive hairdryer online - now I relax with a cup of tea while my hair dries. I used to dread going to the hairdresser - I’m actually looking forward to my next appointment.
I originally found Curly Girls while searching for curly hair products. After meeting Adina I felt a connection and have since had dusting and curly cuts and highlights .. great salon and good advise.
I am 15 years old and I have a corkscrew curl pattern. Adina was very helpful with my ideas and I was really happy with my haircut.
I absolutely love my curls every time I leave! So worth it if you have no idea how to handle your curls but want to learn, or if you want a new look. Great location and amazing experience!
Adina and her team are amazing!!!! They look after you with amazing service you entire session. Adina is very knowledgeable about curls and shares tips and tricks to make sure your curls are always on point. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a Curl education ????
Great experience! Adina was wonderful and provided me with so much information on the type of curls I have and how to manage my curls and prevent from damage. Would definitely recommend.
Very pleased and impressed by the service I had at this hair studio. They were thorough and knowledgeable about hair and took time to understand my style preferences. I booked the wrong type of cut online and the stylist accommodated me anyway even though it too more time
I found curly girls studio online and was happy that I was able to get an appointment so quickly. Sarah did a great job explaining how to work with my curls. I was pleasantly surprised that they offered a call back to check if I was happy with the cut. Both Adina and Sarah were incredibly knowledgeable about curls and styling and I learned a lot from my session with them. Both Adina and Sarah were very friendly and I really appreciated how personable they were. The only thing that I wasn’t too happy with was the cut itself. It was quickly done and once I got home I noticed the cut wasn’t even with some very long strands in between some short ones.
This hair studio taught me some great tips that I still use till this day! Adina is very knowledgeable and friendly. Studio is very clean! I enjoyed my visit! Will have to book another appointment soon!
I first saw Adina 2 years ago, and since then I’ve gone from high maintenance hair to low! Adina recommended techniques and a few products that I use all the time. And her haircuts have resulted in healthier hair, and a style I’m very happy with.
I first went to Adina to revive my heat damaged curls 3 or 4 years ago, and I have been going twice a year ever since. Adina takes the time to explain the basics of curly hair, the products that can work for you, and the routine that best works for your hair type. I have never left with a hair cut I regret! Thanks Adina ❤️
After more than 60 years of fighting with my curly/wavy hair, Curly Girls Studio in Midtown Toronto gave me a haircut that allows me to wear my hair beautifully curly - AND it looks great when I blow it dry straight. I not only got a haircut, I got an education!
It took me a year to finally put that deadly straightener away, and Adina definitely did not let me miss it! Her knowledge and tips on how to maintain my hair was amazing. I went from waves to curly hair in a year. I couldn't dare go to another curly hair specialist! ????
New location is amazing and convenient. Same great service. My curls have never been happier.
No more pony tails! Since coming to see Adina (2 years ago) I rarely have my hair in a pony tail! It falls naturally into a style that works. I love my curls again! I would definitely recommend a visit for your curly hair!
If you have curly hair Adina will help you look the best in your curls! She teaches and heals your hair. You won’t regret your decision to see her!
Before I went to curly girls, my hair has been dry and frizzy, with no curls shown. After one appointment with Adina, I learnt the steps to improve my damaged hair. In a matter of two months, the dead and dry hair that I had for the past two years has been turned into defined curls. Thanks to Adina, my hair now looks alive and healthy.
Let me be frank: I am no novice when it comes to curly hair. I have been getting it professionally cut for over a decade, and I have been taking care of it, leaving me with beautiful, healthy ringlets. After a year of not getting it cut because of the lockdowns, I was anxious to get it cut as soon as possible, but I also wanted to try a new hair salon. After researching curly hair salons in Toronto, I settled on Curlygirls because of the stellar reviews. By the time my appointment came around, I was ecstatic, ready for the best hair salon experience. Sadly, that is not what happened. I went shortly after lockdown was lifted, meaning that the Curlygirls studio was a bit chaotic as they were adjusting to regular business again. This I completely understand. As things open up again, not everything will go smoothly. I get that. What I do not get, however, is how someone who has been cutting hair for about 14 years could give the absolute worst haircut I have ever had. Adina was distracted the entire time she cut my hair, frequently leaving to tell her staff what to and what not to do. She also rushed, hacking away at my hair like she was a gardener trimming a hedge. She barely took a minute to see if things were even. After she cut my hair (which she cuts dry), her assistant washed my hair in water that was in a constant flux of extremely hot and cold water. The assistant even said to me that “she didn’t know how the taps worked,” laughing while she said that (meanwhile my scalp was either freezing or burning). Even though I only wanted a cut and wash, Adina insisted that she style my hair to see the end product and make any adjustments if necessary. I consented, and waited for my hair to dry while she ran out to grab a coffee. When she returned, she snipped a little more here and there and then I was done. Also, even though she wanted to style it badly, she did not do it for free—I had to pay extra for that in the end. I was happy—at first. My bob looked how it had been a year ago. However, as the weeks progressed, I noticed how truly awful this haircut was. My curls are uneven: I have random long strands that stick out incongruously from my head, like stray twigs from a hedge. I have SPLIT ENDS. I have never before had split ends. I am UPSET every time I look in the mirror. In terms of COVID protocols, hers were meh. The space is small and the second hair station is less than a metre away from the washing and waiting areas. It’s cramped and loud. At least they were wearing masks. Look, I understand that this is a stressful time, and I’m sympathetic to that, but for someone who has been cutting hair for a long time, this is unacceptable. At the very, very least, I should still be able to get a good haircut. I have never seen my hair look this bad and I will not be returning. I can’t believe I paid extra money to have her style it just to appease her. Maybe I’m missing something here. Maybe those who see Adina have never taken care of their hair before and to them Adina is a “saviour,” so they can’t spot the imperfections. I don’t know. This is an honest and unexaggerated summary of my experience. Take from it what you will. Just note that I am NOT happy. Update: I wanted to give an update after a couple of months since I saw Adina. Oh my goodness my hair was a wreck. I say “was” because I just got my hair fixed by someone I trust. They had to straighten it to fix it, and once it was straightened, you could see its unevenness. One side was longer than the other, some strands were longer than others—it was sloppy. Curly hair can hide imperfections, but even curled it looked awful. I’m posting some pictures to this review (I apologize if they’re not the greatest). If you look closely, you can see how some strands are longer than others and stick out like hooks (I look like a cross between tumbleweed and a fishing rod). It just shows how sloppy this cut was. I can’t believe I spent $150 for someone to rush cutting my hair. I don’t understand how you can cut curly hair dry and expect good results. I am still so mad.
I just had my first ever curly cut with Adina. Not only did she give me SUCH a better shape, she also shared a tonne of knowledge with me. Step by step instructions for product application, lots of talk about ingredients, tips for surviving the harsh effects of the sun on my locks. Her passion for curly hair and helping her clients is evident. She even sent a check in email to see how I was liking my new cut. I couldn't recommend her more highly!
Adina was super welcoming, friendly and knowledgable. The salon was booked and busy, but she was still very punctual and managed to take her time to educate me about my curls and give the best recommendations possible. Overall I was super impressed with the service, experience and I am really happy with my cut!
Great first time experience! Adina is fantastic, accommodating and has lots of curly hair knowledge! She gave me lots of great tips for taking care of my curls.
Adina is actually the best hair dresser I’ve ever had and I refuse to let anyone else touch my hair now! She’s literally a hair expert and if you have curly hair you must go to her! On top of knowing hair she also knows her clients very well and that’s something that you don’t find often. Thank you Adina for being the best!
Adina's been my hair stylist for 3 years now and I feel so lucky to have her. When we first met, I had just started my curly girl journey and she was so welcoming and encouraging. She shares good advice with gentleness. She's very thoughtful when working on my hair, telling me what would help, selecting products that suit me and totally understands how to care for curly hair. I love her little contests that encourage us to share our curly hair stories and rewards us with freebies!!!
Adina has been cutting my hair for over 10 years, she’s the only person I trust with my curls. She is talented, knowledgeable, professional and an overall phenomenal stylist. My 13 year old daughter also started seeing Adina for her curly cuts and recently went to her for highlights. After consultation and collaboration her vision came alive - we’re both thrilled with the results and her curls are very healthy post-colour. I highly recommend Curly Girls Studio.
Went there for the first time, loved my experience. All curly girls know finding someone who can handle your hair is rare. Everything about this salon is about education, teaching you how to love your curls and embrace them everyday. Deffinetly can't wait to take my daughter here for her first curly cut.
Great cuts, advice and tips for every curly girl. For example, leave lots of water in your hair before applying Deva products and then use a microfibre towel to squish out excess water.
