I really wanted to like this place because it's an Aveda salon and their products are amazing. I got my hair coloured and after my hair was shampooed twice, there was still so much colour left on my scalp. My scalp was so itchy. While waiting for my hair to be dried I scratched my head and my nails were black from the hair dye. I thought maybe they had missed a spot and that happens. After the blow dry I left and I couldn't stop scratching. I thought it was a reaction but again there was hair dye under my nails. I went home and washed out my freshly blow dried hair (which was sad because I really look forward to the nice blow out). While rinsing, the colour was clearly still on my scalp. Two shampoos later (now a total of 4) I finally got all of the product out and my head wasn't itchy anymore. It was a pretty bad experience.

I’ve been going to Civello for years. Ashleigh was my colour technician. Although. I brought photo examples, she ignored my request for a new look. My colour was corrected by another technician, but it is now so damaged that it’s impossible to style. Management attempted to make amends, but I still had to pay to have another colourist to work on my hair. Free product doesn’t really change the condition of my hair. No follow up or apology from Ashleigh. I was greatly saddened by this as she has even coloured my hair at my home. Loyalty means nothing. There are so many other top salons out there. I’m surprised that there wasn’t really a concern about customer retention.

Extremely disappointed. Arrived for a shellac pedicure only to be told to return to the place that did my last pedicure to have the shellac removed, despite mentioning when booking that I currently had shellac on my toes AND being told there is a $15 fee for removal. Won't ever be back.

I had a great experience at Civello Oakville. The front staff are welcoming and friendly and provide information and, thankfully, no hard sell on products. Surbhi gave me sound advice and options to improve my hair that was super dry (and tangly and hard to manage) after my first balyage, 4 months ago, at a different salon. Loved her cut and the gloss she applied. My hair looks so much better even when I just wash and go. Surbhi also was fun to be with and gives super head and shoulders massage!

I arrived for my appointment at 11:00am only to be told that I don't have an appointment because the person I booked with is not working. I received a confirmation email 2 days before and confirmed the appointment. She claimed somebody called, but nobody called. Complete waste of my time to book in advance, move my schedule around, waste gas and my valuable time. Update: As a courtesy for their mistake, they offered a comp haircut. I booked the appointment and still never received a confirmation email and was not aware they were not offering shampoo and blowdry services due to covid. Had I known, I would have cancelled the appointment. The stylist did a dry cut on my greasy hair. I didn't notice how bad the haircut was until i got home and washed it myself. The layers are so uneven and chunky and there is no way of fixing it unless if I shave my head and wait 2 years for it to grow back. I'm usually very low maintenance on my hair, but now I have to fix it everyday to hide how ugly the haircut is. I don't think the stylist is bad, but given the circumstances I don't think any stylist can do a good haircut on greasy hair. Thank god it was free, because nobody should even spend a dime with this type of service.

I had an incredible experience at Civello Oakville, I went last minute last Sunday, and even though I had no appointment, right away they found a spot for me, even though the place looked full, and within seconds they took my coat and offered me coffee and water, they asked me to wait in their waiting room. I waited for 2 minutes and a stylist, Lilly, was immediately taking care of me, she did a great massage, no extra charge, and she did my hair perfectly. Now that is good service, I paid happily and I will come back to that place every time.

This was my first time at Civello Oakville. It was horrible experience from beginning to end! I went in for a haircut. I was made to stand in a corner for over 10 minutes with absolutely no one to tell me where I was to go. I wanted a hair cut about 2 inches and she would only trim it saying that my hair was fine. She didn’t even use a round brush to blow dry my hair just relied on the flat iron. Worst haircut and style of my life. The service and treatment I received from the time I checked in was SO bad that they comped my $95 haircut as they stated “my experience should have been wonderful from the time I walked in the door.” Do no waste your time or money at this salon you will regret it! **AFTER CONTACT FROM MANAGEMENT** I was contacted by Civello management after posting my review. They were very apologetic and offered to have me come back in so I could have the true "Civello experience". I opted to go to the Queen Street location for another try at my haircut. I saw Dylan and it was the most AMAZING haircut I have ever had!!! I am glad I gave Civello another try as I found my new hairstylist. Thanks Cheryl :)

I had 5 star treatment from the minute I walked in the front door. I had my haircut yesterday by a new stylist named Lauren. She gave me a fantastic cut! Before I even sat down she welcomed me and offered me a beverage of my choice. Once I got to her chair she asked me what style I wanted and then offered great suggestions based on my hair type (fine, but lots of it!). She started with a shoulder and upper back massage (at no extra cost) then proceeded to do a dry cut to get the length just right. She then shampooed and layered to suit my look. After blow drying, she went over the entire cut to make sure everything was perfect. She was upbeat and friendly to chat with and made me feel very welcome. (as I was chatting with her I learned that she recently finished a year of training at an Aveda Salon in Australia) I walked out the door feeling like I'd been spoiled! I even purchased 3 products as a result of my positive experience. Great value for my money and I look forward to booking my next appointment with Lauren :)

Sandy is the best. I have never had a better haircut than the one Sandy gave me in my whole life, in three different countries and after numerous stylists. What can I say, she truly is a master. My hair is tricky to cut even for what I thought experienced hairdressers, but Sandy cut it effortlessly while engaging me in a nice conversation, making me forget about my hair getting cut and the result was beyond my expectations. While I know there’s only so much that can be done in one session - I’ve been bleaching my hair for over a decade - I’ve tried now two “blonde experts” and each time (3 diff. Appointments) I’ve left feeling like my needs are not met. Lovely women to have worked with however for the high price tag and not getting what you’re asking for, it’s just not worth it.

I just had my first visit to Civello Oakville. Leslie was my esthetician and gave me the most relaxing facial of my life. You can truly tell she is passionate about her work. The only bad part was that it had to end. Lol. It was definitely worth the drive from Toronto.

I have never written a review of any place before but I was so upset about my visit to the salon that I am writing one now. I went in for the first time to have a colour and the girl who coloured my hair was rough and quite honestly made me feel as though I was a burden. She turned the chair so I couldn't see in the mirror as she was colouring - I came to find out later that I had colour staining all the way down my forehead and around my face. She moved me directly from the colour chair to the couches after without letting me look in the mirror once. Then at the washing station she didn't offer to put my feet up and was so rough with the comb (for toner) and her gloves that I actually have cuts in my scalp from her. I will NEVER go there again. I have been getting my hair coloured every 3 weeks for over 20 years and have never had an experience such as this. I just moved to Oakville and will be looking elsewhere.

Yesterday was my first visit at Civello, unfortunately very disapointing! I have made an appointment for OMBRE hair style . Since I have the same hair style for years i wanted something different.I Have shown 2 photos, how I like to have my hair approximately. Above the head dark down light. Melissa has shown me her own pictures of OMBRE by her smartphone, as it would look like this once is done. It was great I liked it Unfortunately the result was terrible. These were worlds of what I wanted. (Not OMBRE) Melissa gave me the color and that was it, washed, and blow dryed I was by other 2 people. Melissa was more busy with her own Hair to Style in the miror like with me! My hair was also not 100% dry and styled! What an unprofessional service !!! I have paid over $ 200 and ask my self for what !!! I am very very disappointed

Booked a hair cut and highlight consult on a Sunday at 3:45PM. Been to this salon before for a cut and it was a pleasant experience so decided to come back. Prior to my appointment, it had been way over a year since I last went to a hair salon and hadn't highlighted my hair in years. I was almost at the salon when they called me to tell me Lauren was running late and they had to push my appointment to 4PM. Spent about 20 minutes waiting in my car. Got to the salon and Lauren was still finishing up her client so waited a little more. She was pleasant and nice. I have baby fine hair a little past shoulders and not a lot of it. Showed her what I wanted and wanted to make sure getting highlights wouldn't damage my hair too much since it's very fragile. She recommended partial highlights to reduce damage. I spent a lot of the time waiting around and got passed from chair to chair. Lauren had another haircut appointment booked during my appointment so had to wait for that to be done. Definitely didn't feel like my appointment was a priority. She was obviously overbooked for the day and it showed. I was however very understanding as she was nice. Haircut was fine. Highlights looked ok in the salon mirror and she said once I washed it, it would "calm it down" a bit. Got home and looked at it and hated it. The BF even said it looked bad. Washed my hair several times since the appointment and it still looks bronzy/coppery and horrible with my skin tone. Not natural looking at all. Can't risk doing anything further now to fix it because my hair is so fragile so I basically paid $250 and spent about 2.5 hours in the salon to look/feel worse than I started.

I just left my appointment and I am almost in tears. I am so disappointed with the colour and (basically invisible) highlights I received with Ashley. This is exactly why people have anxiety over trying new colourists. She spoke to me for all of 30 seconds before she quickly left to mix colour. There was no asking to see a picture, no confirming that we both understand what I wanted. I have been colouring my hair for almost 20 years, I know the process - and she assumed what I wanted without confirmation. She barely acknowledged me throughout the service, I don't even think she looked me in the eye. I said I wanted caramel coloured highlights to which she said she'd use a toner to achieve. My hair is brown. My entire head is dark brown. I asked for chunky highlights around my face. I did not get that. I asked to leave as quickly as possible, so I left with soaking wet hair (my choice). When I went to pay, my bill was $380, to which I had to ask for that to be repeated. My stomach is sick. I feel like a fool. For that amount of money, I should be leaving with a beautiful colour and great experience. I used to visit Civello Queen when I lived DT and loved it there. I am appalled at this experience. I feel like I have been robbed.

Misleading promotions and terrible customer service. Despite being a 20 plus year customer they did nothing to retain my business or even contact me once i initiated a complaint other than to say they “listened to my call’. (But date they said listened to it was not even day i called!!) Filed complaint with Better Business Bureau which was accepted. Be careful of doing anything online. Disappointed on how managed an error on their end. Lost my business for life and countless referrals.

Spiro has cut my hair three times now. I now schedule my haircuts around my visits to Oakville. Each cut is precise, creative and easy to work following my haircut. Although this is the most I have paid for a hair cut, I won't complain as I am incredibly fussy with the outcome. Spiro is well worth a visit. Notes for the salon, the makeup counter needs to be upgraded. All is is worthy of the location and a visit.

SO grateful to this salon for my colour correction! A different salon did a terrible job with my hair so I came to Civello on a whim to fix it. Not only did my hair turn out better than expected (shoutout to Kelly B!) but the service was FANTASTIC. I got a little back massage after my session, complimentary moisture treatment that introduced me to the delightful Aveda line - they all pampered me and it was SO appreciated after the hair week I’d had :) Great salon, highly recommend.

before our move out of the area we were regular clients of Oakville. i booked 2 spa treatments for this morning. imagine my shock when i arrive after an hours drive to be told the esthetician who does one treatment is not available today but not to worry my second treatment was rebooked for an hour and a half later. i was told the spa called me. i asked who called and when as i have no missed calls or a message. he didn't know but assured me they called. I asked when the follow up call or email was done. he could not answer. Times have changed. Beyond disappointed that after driving in, paying for parking then this ridiculous occurance. Civello is off our list of supposed hi-end destinations what a joke

Yesterday I coloured my hair with same colour I have been using for my highlights at this location Oakville but the colour is not even, I have three tones of colour. It is way too lighter on top, less lighter(middle of my hair) and darker on the ends. It should have been the other way around, lighter on my highlights and darker on my big dark roots. I just want to know how will you fix. Sammy did the work

The first time I came here was back in the summer and I had an amazing experience. The woman they cut my hair moved to a different salon. My second time going to the salon was yesterday. I asked for a bob with a slight A-line and I also showed the same photos I always show when I get my hair touched up. The lady who cut my hair the second time did a good job on the front of my hair but the back and part of the sides were a complete mess. It was extremely uneven and not the a line that I had expected. It was all one length on the bottom and had extremely chunky layers which made my hair appear it had holes in it. I got home and was in tears when I tried to style it and realized the mess that it was. It was too expensive for what the outcome was. It looked like I went to first choice hair cutters when I went to an Aveda salon. I called the salon and they booked me in today with Tamzin and she did an amazing job!!! She completely saved my hair and made it look like nothing had gone wrong. She paid close attention to detail and was very professional. She is an amazing stylist and I highly recommend booking with her.

I consider this place to be the bitchy sister of the Queen street location. I have gone here a few times simply because the location and my hair cutter Sammie is really nice. But the overall feel of this place is snobby and rude. For example, I have bangs and get them cut every so many weeks, but when I go to queen street versus Oakville location, the service is very different. I went to queen street a few times (I used to live closer) and they did my bangs with no attitude, spent more time than necessary to get them perfect and there was no hair left on me. When I go to Oakville, I am always rushed in and out and there’s more often then not hair all over me. At queen street they put the full cover on me so hair doesn’t get anywhere. At Oakville, they make me hold a small towel under my face. My bangs get cut both ways but the quality of care is better at queen street. Another example is today I went there to get my bangs cut again and they didn’t bother to but a closed for the holidays sign on the door or online. I called the store cuz it looked closed and someone answered and told me that there was a sign. So I went back and checked and I still don’t see a sign. I might be wrong, maybe there is a sign. I’ll leave photos for you to check. But if there is a sign I don’t think it’s reasonably large enough for the customers. It’s the lack of customer care that brings this place down.
